The vibe is old school diner, and they seem to be able to resist becoming anything else. Cash only, but has an ATM. Swing by on your way from Cincy to CVG, sit at the bar, chat them up and tip well. A great local spot that's probably made worse by being visited by tourists, so don't be a dick.

Place was splendid with great food under $15.00. Waitresses were very inviting and friendly with a warm atmosphere that felt like home. Definitely would recommend to stop here on way through and they also do party reservations!

This place is a classic staple. I love the hash browns. The staff is funny. They have juke boxes at the table and they hook up to a little thing where the dolls dance along to the music. Especially good after you've been drinking. They used to have 24 hour service but don't anymore. I usually call before I go.

The ultimate dive in the greater Cincinnati area has got to be the Anchor Grill. This place hasn't changed much since the first time I visited over 40 years ago. Basic diner food, well made, great value, unique experience. Like many mom and pop places of a particular era, the Anchor Grill is cash only and defies local rules about smoking indoors. I don't know if they're grandfathered out of the rule, or they just don't care. In either case, the faint smell of stale smoke did not detract from the experience. The servings are large and made to order. If they're busy you may have to wait for a while, but it is well worth it. I recommend the Anchor Grill as an experience of its own. No pretense at all. It's a dive in all the best possible ways.

Perfect greasy spoon for breakfast the morning after Zach Top! Tonya and Jewell took amazing care of us and the food was great. It has so much charm- give me this over a chain any day!

It's hard not to like Anchor grill. It's as "local greasy spoon" as it gets, but it has a relaxed, welcoming vibe. Sort of if your Mom and a couple of her friends opened a diner, and you stopped in for dinner. The staff are friendly and polite, and the food is surprisingly solid. If I'm in the Midwest, I have to satisfy my breaded, fried pork tenderloin sandwich craving. Theirs is thin but decent, and you can't beat the price. Cash only. Give it a try. The pancakes look great. If you're not a local, be aware many restaurants here allow you to smoke inside, and this is one of them.

Turkey/ham with Swiss on white bread with fries. Such a huge sandwich , my husband and I split it.

Zero stars, this place used to be open 24/7, now not even open after the bars close on a Friday. I don't want to live in this world.

I stopped by for a quick lunch during the week and wanted an easy to-go sandwich. They have a medium sized menu but a lot of different options which makes it a bit hard to pick haha! The employees were suppperrrr nice and gave me a lot of time to think about my order. The vibes in there were very cool with fun music and just overall a good time. Now onto the Reuben. Holy cow! It was juicy and very flavorful, with the perfect amount of sauerkraut. The bread was toasty and the sandwich was nice and warm but not too hot. I think this will be a new spot for me for lunch!

Essentially for me I had waited too long to eat and the idea of waiting longer was a non starter for me. Sandwiches are not my go to food outside the house, it seems silly on some level. However, the sandwich I had was fantastic and well balanced. There was a good amount of everything without it being too much. Sometimes it's too much. This was great. They also had good, homemade or freshly made sides like potato salad and other salads you could get. It was great.

People are always surprised when they hear that we often drive the almost hour trip from Dayton to…read moreCincinnati for dinner but it's worth it for the treasure trove of independent establishments like The Wheel Oakley! I had heard that their pop-up dinners sell out very quickly so I was ready the day they were posted and grabbed a few spots for one of their February dates. We arrived and were greeted with a glass of Prosecco and then we found a seat at the long community table set for 20; it was so much fun getting to know the people seated next to us! Dinner was delicious! Four courses-the gnocchi with sausage was our favorite dish of the night.

If you follow them on socials, you can score a seat at the pop-ups. The place is an old house with a lot of character. The food for carryout is fantastic and their bread is fantastic. We live in West Chester and have driven down to there a few times just to pick up delicious dinners. We just attended our first dinner there last Tuesday. Oh My Goodness! What a treat. Jordan greeted us with a glass of Prosecco and directed us where to sit a long table that seats 20. We introduced ourselves to our seatmates and then our first dish arrived. Chef does explain the food before we had each dish, however we wished there was more background and history as to how this place came into being. So expect fantastic food without a lot of details. The first dish was a salad made with all local ingredients. It was so fresh and the dressing made with fresh dill was fantastic. The second dish was a ravioli with northern Italian cheese on a bed of butternut squash puree and brown butter. The pasta was SO delicate and the flavors complimented each other so well. The third dish was a 6 hour braised pork shoulder with ricotta gnocchi in a sauce with Calabrian chilis and I don't know what else. We have been to Italy and all the Italian restaurants in Cincinnati and never had anything like this. It was truly phenomenal. Dessert was a apple upside down cake served warm with whipped cream...fantastic. You bring your own wine, and Jordan is on it by never letting your glass get empty, pouring water, and clearing dishes. Service was so great and she is so friendly and accommodating. The cost was a very reasonable $100/pp and SO worth it. There is no menu, so you go in just devouring what Chef has prepared.
