My husband and I parked on Henry St to go to Rhinegeist on Saturday 8/29/26. We got out of our car and immediately started getting screamed at by the staff at Dunlap that our card declined and we need to come in to pay. We tried to tell her about 5 times we were not in their restaurant and she would not stop. A man then started screaming at us. The woman ran up on us and said "oh sorry" and put her hand up and back away after she realized we were not the people they were looking for. We have never been to Dunlap's and never will after being humiliated in the middle of the street over a place of business we have never stepped foot inside. What a fun spot in OTR. Rachel is the bomb and will have your food and drink ready in an instant. Grabbed three adult happy meals for lunch to go and get a special treat of a growler of Off Track Brewing as well for the evening. The chicken and burgers are excellent and the fries have a seasoning like I've never had before. Look forward to regular open hours to be able to hang and enjoy the cool decor and friendly staff. My son should be on Diners and Drive Ins cause he loves "lower brow" places. He suggested we meet for lunch here, and I never turn town lunch. Plugged in address on my GPS and set off. While I love Findlay market, we all know two block in any direction can be dicey. And it was. First of all I couldn't find a place to park, but I was reluctant to return to Findlay and walk here. I parked in a vacant lot, and my son moved my car...if squeezed it into a space without an inch to spare. Hours are very limited...not even open on the weekends. But waitress was very pleasant and food was good. I had a Blt, my son a burger with tots. Not as cheap as you would think for the surroundings. I guess it caters to the neighborhood businesses. I can't imagine a return trip. But you might love it. read more

Stopped by Dunlap Cafe on a weeknight supporting a coworker who was releasing some of his local craft beer. Off Track Brewing has the only local craft beer on tap. They had a $6 burger and fries special paired especially for the beer and they also had a special burger for UC's homecoming weekend. Quick friendly service I had my burger just moments after enjoying a few sips of my beer. Dunlap Cafe was started many years ago and continues to operate serving breakfast, lunch in dinner in the northern edge of Over The Rhine neighborhood stop by it's worth it. read more

This place has been around for so long and so many people have no idea it exists. One block away from Rhinegeist, if you just go out the door and basically go straight, you'll find this hidden little gem. When you enter the main dining area you will see that it's decorated from decades past and they have not changed a thing. I enjoy the nice dive sort of feel but the food and service does not dive short. We were probably greeted by a very nice lady who was very attentive and chatted with us the entire time. We also had the chef come out and he mentioned he makes his own hot sauces and brought us out some to try which is super nice. They were also delicious. I tried a double stack burger and it hit the spot. Delicious, flavorful, and well prepared, I was in heaven. My friend got the waffle fries and they were definitely better than I would've expected. I would highly recommend them. We had a few two dollar Budlights to celebrate the sort of experience/sportsball on the TV. The price was right and the experience was nice. I will definitely be going back and would recommend anyone else who's looking for elevated bar food and a pleasant experience to check it out! read more

Finally made it down here! I've been planning to visit then the pandemic hit and it's hard to get out with two kids. Took advantage of being off and made it down. Exactly what I was hoping for from this place. Server/bartender was super nice. They ended up pretty busy but handled it well. Had to get the soccer mom box because again, two kids and a minivan. Enjoyed the White Claw + Tito's shot. Ended up with the OTR burger and it was delish! Super tasty and definitely hit the spot with the fries. The husband got the Hangover burger and onion rings and that was great as well. Overall we'd definitely come back for a nice chill meal. They make the best French toast in the city! Vitors (when it was around) was the best but since they have disappeared Dunlap has moved into the number one spot! It's a small cozy neighborhood vibe a block from Findlay Market so you can make a day out of going. I ordered the pork chop which I NEVER order and boy was I glad I did. I read lots about this restaurant since I moved to Cincinnati. I heard about how it was opened and operated by different family members since early 1930s. I met the new owner, Rachel and she is definitely very friendly lady. She made you feel at home. The building looks a little old, both inside and outside but has character. I had two visitors with me and both love the place and will revisit again. Thumbs up for their drinks and burgers. Our burgers were perfectly cook for "medium" heat. Dunlap Cafe may have just swooped in and saved my diner loving heart. I am always complaining that downtown/OTR doesn't have any solid greasy spoon diners that are actually open for breakfast. Well folks, enter - Dunlap Cafe! Although this delicious blue beacon of light stands alone on a dark, somewhat sketchy street, it is worth taking a second look at and realize that yes, it is actually open. The new owners just added windows so they now have some natural light, but they kept the real integrity inside and it is amazing in so many ways. The server was friendly. She is passionate and excited to be there. Her boyfriend owns the place and you can find him behind the griddle with a root beer in hand serving up some delicious greasy spoon goodness. They told us they are known for the burger but we were craving breakfast so we opted for a Western Omelette and the pancakes. The Western Omelette was the size of an entire plate and the ingredients were cooked to perfection. My only qualm was the outside was a little brown and overcooked. My pancakes were solid and exactly what I expected. Do not get the sausage it is fake. Opt for bacon and shredded hashbrowns as a side. Now where the real GLORY of this place comes in - their drinks. They offer spirits, beer, and wine and at an almost laughable price. It's only $3 for a rhinegeist & moerlein, and $2 for most everything else. You could drink for an entire night on a $20 bill and still have money left over. And the real winner - they have jello shots. Oh, and all beer can be ordered to go. Is there anything else you could want from a neighborhood spot? PRO TIP: It's located right next to Rhinegeist. After a night of drinking, wonder over - they're open till 2:00am.
