I was disappointed. I feel like they had the decor and menu to be a 5 star for me, but everything fell short. Service wasn't great. They market this like it is a farm to table, and when I ordered lemonade, it was made from a mix, and uber sweet, not freshly squeezed, like all other farm-to-tables are known for. Everything tasted like it came from a frozen pre-mix. The salad was slightly wilted and not mixed well. On the plus side, my friend had the fries and loved them. I don't normally write reviews for restaurants, but when I'm completely amazed by my experience I feel I should share. We flew into Houston and were making our way to San Antonio. In hopes to find a good restaurant for lunch along the way we received a recommendation to stop in Katy, TX. I did a quick search of restaurants and this place seemed right up our alley and would accommodate a toddler and picky eater. The first thing to mention is the service was phenomenal....really...phenomenal. We never wanted for a thing and even got offered to go drinks for our drive. We ordered the homemade hummus appetizer for our daughter.some of the best we've had. Warm pita and ripe tomatoes on top...delish. The pepperoni pizza, chicken salad sandwich and orzo side did NOT disappoint. The Bistro Chipotle burger was enormous and amazing! Celebrated my friend's b-day here on a Sunday morning on the patio! We started with Mimosas but half the group went with Bloody Mary's after seeing the next table order! Both options were fresh and tasty but the Bloody Mary was exquisite and seasoned with the perfect spices and garnishes! Every entree ordered seemed to top the one next to it for freshness and beauty. The quinoa was heaven. The salad exquisite. The eggs were prepared perfectly and the service outstanding! Overall a fun and satisfying experience to repeat as often as possible. We've been in Katy for about a year and have finally found our "go to spots." Local table is close to home and one of our favorite places. The customer service from our first trip has always been above and beyond. Hubs and I typically sit at the bar - and we try and go on nights when Elvin is working. He's outstanding. Our orders are always perfect, our drinks are always full and the conversation is fun. Local Table is great, but having a team member like Elvin is what creates loyal customers. As long as he's behind the bar, we'll be there a couple times a week. read more

Everytime we visit the BFs fam I always request we go here! Ugh. Where do I begin? Everything is just great here. Their jalapeño hummus is killer but the burger with chipotle sauce is just indescribably good. As I've said in previous reviews of other places, I'm not a fan of restaurant/gourmet burgers. I can finally say that I've found my burger! The sweet sourdough bread, mixed with the chipotle sauce mix well together. Oh did I say it's proportionally huge?! Well I decided to give our local place yet another try, I will never go back . The food is not impressive at all. I ordered the Shrimp Tacos and they lit my mouth on eternal fire, I was unable to eat them! I told the waiter and he did not seem to care. Drinks were a mixed bag : first two Margaritaville's were excellent (taste and in large glass); only knock was salt was table salt on the rim (wrong!). Second set were in beer classes and had a bad after taste. I pushed through mine; spouse just couldn't. Disappointing. you plus they never asked about them until the end. Everything was well cooked. We got the hummus and southern crispy chicken and gyro plate. Hummus was lacking in a little oomph. Honestly everything we ate didnt seem like it was seasoned. Even the fries didnt have regular salt or enough. Probably woulda been 4 star if everything had a bit more salt. Coffe also didnt stay hot / wasnt the greatest. Service was great though. I've been waiting to go to the Local Table since their grand opening over a year ago. Unfortunately, school started (I attend college out of state) before I had a chance to visit. Fast forward a year later, hype for this place still hasn't died down and I'm still hearing many good things about it. I really really wanted to like this place. The food was mediocre at best. The portion size small for its price tag. We ordered the salmon dish, which was came out dry and barely lukewarm and the rice that it came with was undercooked. We also ordered the margherita pizza, which was alright. Now on to service. The place wasn't filled yet we felt like we were rushed. My cousin and I mentioned that we would be sharing, but weren't offered any plates. Our server seemed irritated and about half way done with our meal, dropped off our check. We were both like, okay(?) but brushed it off. He came back and checked on us two more times to see if he could take care of our payment (really wished he was as attentive the first half of our meal). We came at lunch and so the wait was not very long at all. The service was impeccable. I found our waiter to be very knowledgeable of the menu and friendly to boot. We never hurt for a thing. On this particular visit, I had the southern fried chicken. It was cooked to perfection. The mashed potatoes and green beans that came with it were delicious. Philly cheese steak: absolutely driest thing I've ever had; Beef jerky has more juice than this. I was trying to find where the cheese was even at.... it's like they used half a slice of cheese on each half of the sandwich... The sides are plentiful which makes up for the terrible main dish itself. The sad truth about the fries is they taste weird. It might just be because it's fresh cut and they haven't perfected it yet. Bistro chipotle burger: really huge sized burger pleasing to the eye. The amount of sauce they add had me feeling like I was at McDonald's wondering if they're being cheap as if me asking for more would cost extra. Asked for medium they brought out well done, didn't even bother finishing it. Price is worth the serving size, but not worth me suffering when Maruchan Ramen can be finessed. read more

Second and last time I'll eat here. I ate here months ago and it was my first time so I let that experience go. Today is Mother's Day and I get it, you're busy. But to not tell me in advance that your kitchen is an hour behind schedule and that you cannot handle full capacity. And now for the food. Eggs Benedict and an omelette. I'm not a cook, and I could have cooked both these items better. Cold cheese unmelted in an over cooked omelette....hmmmm. Super high heat and you didn't add cheese till the end. I had to ask for some extra hollaidanse since the eggs were poached hard and dry, no run, and they had put about a pinch of hollandaise that barely covered the egg much less the Benedict portion. Cheap ham. Sorry, we are talking store bought Canadian bacon of the lowest quality. It took 10 minutes in the beginning just to get my coffees creamer and an additional 3 minutes for her to reach below and get me my sugar. Total time her with eating breakfast was an hour and ten minutes. We wolfed down the food in the last ten because we were starving by then. Barely an apology for the late food. I can tell you the eggs Benedict was not even close to worthy of 13.50. This manager should go to TOAST in Port Jefferson Long Island, and find out what an expensive breakfast should taste like, be cooked like, and warrant the cost of the highest priced breakfast in towns. I really don't understand all the hype about this place. The food was bland, we ordered the burgers and the gyro pita both were just so lacking in flavor. Even the fries were bad they tasted like day old fries not crispy at all and not even the good kind of soggy. The fries were even chewing and hard to bite. Then our waiter was horrible too it was almost as if it was torture waiting on our table. He literally asked in a rude attitude "what do you want?" Then he brought us the check before we had even finished our meal he was just super rude! We came here because of all the good reviews, and I was actually really excited about this place. We will keep coming back and recommend them if you are in the area or are a looking for a great to find a good selection of dishes. I have to post an update on why I dipped a star - the last few times we have visited random dishes were cold. We convinced some friends to go with us last Friday and my wife's dish, and a friend's were cold. Consequently, they ordered the same dish so maybe the prep needs to be visited. I usually get the pita and it has been cold a few times also and I have had to send it back. They did bring a new dish but sort of acted like I was being picky or putting them out.
