I normally do not do this, which is a review after one visit to a restaurant. I normally do not because I think there are two things that every yelper looks for which is a great meal at a very fair cost in a wonderful environment well served, and repeatability of all of those factors. I am in this particular case, quite confident about the capability of these restaurant tours to do just that; delicious food, great service, wonderful environment at a very fair price in point of fact, frankly I think it's a bargain. My opinion is mezze is a great way to experience a Middle Eastern restaurants capabilities hence that's what I ordered and it did not disappoint. In addition, I complemented their triple or trio dip dish with some grape leaves, cheese, olives, turnips, etc., and had simply a delightful experience. The waitress was wonderful, accommodating, but adjusted to our pace precisely. I had Arak as an accompaniment. I did not get the brand I should have. It was exceptional. We arrived at six and were the only couple there. So, eight of us went to dinner together and Kris was our server. First of all, Kris was phenomenal! Very attentive and caring. The food was fabulous. Everything was fresh, hot and delicious. Several of our group had never eaten there before and were very impressed with the quality of the food and drinks and stated that they would be going back. I used to really like this restaurant. We've been here multiple times in the past, and the food and service were always great. Unfortunately, tonight was by far the worst experience we've ever had here (and perhaps anywhere, for that matter). We waited almost 20 minutes just to be seated, then another 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged us, and another 15 minutes before we were able to place our order. Our appetizers didn't arrive until over an hour after we arrived. Throughout the entire time, our server never refilled our water (see photo). The manager was not present tonight, and it was very clear. The servers were either on their phones or chatting with coworkers. It felt like they only cared about the larger tables, while our table was ignored. This experience was extremely disappointing given how much we used to enjoy coming here. We recently visited Mezze #1 Mediterranean Grill in Fulshear for my husband's birthday, and it's definitely a spot we'll keep coming back to! The restaurant is close to our home, and it's a beautiful new place in the Fulshear area. The interior is stylish and clean, with tasteful Mediterranean-inspired decor. The vibe is relaxed but still feels elevated. Our waitress was friendly, and the food came out really fast a huge plus when you're dining with a toddler like we were. We ordered the mixed grill platter with beef, lamb, and chicken. All the meats were juicy, tender, and rich with flavor. The salad was fresh and zesty. But honestly, the highlight for me was the babaganoush and freshly baked bread. It was the best I've had so far! The texture was creamy and smooth, It was beautifully plated with a drizzle of olive oil, sprinkled with herbs and topped with radish slices, parsley, and pomegranate seeds. The presentation was just as good as the taste. We also tried the knafa, which was soft and mildly sweet with a cheesy center and just a light topping of pistachios. Personally, I prefer the version at Phoenician with its crispy top and more pistachio flavor, but this one wasn't bad just a little plain for my taste.. On our second visit, our daughter practically devoured the bread and babaganoush again. I also got to try their Turkish coffee..it was strong, aromatic, and served traditionally with a bit of fine grounds at the bottom. It had a rich, bold flavor.. All in all, Mezze #1 is a great spot for clean, flavorful Mediterranean food. It's familyfriendly, fast, and delicious. When walking into the restaurant, the ambiance is really nice. It's a smaller place, but nicely done with the tables, dishes, decor, etc. The waitress was friendly and took our drink order but throughout our visit the service became extremely slow. Eventually, it felt like the waitress forgot about us and we had to track her down to request the check. She remained friendly, so no issues there just increased wait times including drink orders like tea and adult beverage that took 15+ minutes to receive. We ordered a gyro sandwich and the grill meat plate for our main courses after our appetizers of the fire roasted hummus and grape leaves. The hummus and grape leaves were delicious (you might want extra pita, you get more hummus than bread), but the main course needs some work. The gyro was on point but the grill meat plate was overcooked and dry. The plate came with a salad that we questioned if it had dressing. Anyways, being new we hope the restaurant just needs to work out its kinks. We'll be back to try out the happy hour and something else on the menu but just a few items to note. read more

I don't think a skewer of chicken that is likely the portion of 1/4 a chicken breast with rice is worth $27. Was it tasty? Yes! The flavor was great, but, I don't think it matches the cost. Service-The service was attentive, however, after main entree was delivered there was no follow up other than the bill. Ambience-We can't comment on ambience we were moved from in house dining to back patio dining after being seated. We were told the restaurant was fully booked in the next 30 minutes and they could not accommodate in house dining for 2. There was 1 table of 10-12 when entering and they were finishing. When leaving 1 hour later we noticed there were 3 seated tables the rest were vacant. We arrived at 3:30 and left at 4:30. We will give them the benefit of the doubt since it was Valentine's Day. Food-We had the fatoosh there were no fresh herbs (mint and parsley), the pomegranate seeds offered a nice touch. The hummus and kibbeh filling were needing more flavoring it was one note. The main entree Kafka was dry with no flavoring, the yellow rice was nothing special. The seasoning was not as bold as other restaurants we have visited. If you're from the Fulshear area or out this way, this place is probably considered pretty good. But if you're accustomed to dining in the Inner Loop of Houston, the food here is just average. I was underwhelmed on my first visit -- both by the food and the service -- but decided to give it another try today. Unfortunately, it only confirmed that I likely won't be returning. I ordered the chicken kebab, which was noticeably over-charred and extremely dry. When I requested a replacement, the manager on duty came over to check on me. What happened next left me genuinely shocked. She reached toward my plate, poised to grab the kebab with her thumb and index finger, as if she were going to physically remove it from my plate to take back to the kitchen. Keep in mind, my plate still had two other kebabs, rice, and salad on it. At no point is it acceptable -- in any form of restaurant management or food service training -- to reach over a guest's shoulder and attempt to handle food directly from their plate. It felt intrusive, unsanitary, and frankly unprofessional. It was the final confirmation that this restaurant isn't up to the standard I expect. Atmosphere is nice. read more
