Vegetarian plate with baba ganoush, dolma, fried cauliflower, spaniko pita, and eggplant Moussaka
    Kelley S.

Passed by Cafe Petra on Fry Rd the other day and ordered take out tonight, didn't realize it had just opened recently - it's absolutely delicious! The eggplant and okra moussakas, hummus, baba ganoush, spaniko pita, and fried cauliflower were all especially good! Everything was fresh and the workers were friendly. Will definitely be back!

Food was excellent. Service was very nice and the interior has been redone and is light, airy and cute.

    Overcooked fried cauliflower

This is our third visit to this restaurant because we feel that we have found a great place for Lebanese food. The Shrimp Scampi is my favorite choice for an excellently prepared food. The only reason that this is not a 5.0 is because the Fried Cauliflower was overcooked (see picture), but the rest of the meal was great. Since everything is fresh-cooked, can only assume that there was only a single cook who looked away for just a minute!

Had to call over the server to order after chatting for a bit, so I appreciated that it wasn't pushy in terms of needing to get the patrons to order food quickly. The waiters were all very attentive and friendly. We ordered an appetizer that came with kibbeh, fried cheese wrapped in an eggroll wrapper, and falafel. I'm not usually a falafel person, but this one changed me. The kibbeh and the fried cheese was incredible as well!! As for the main dish, I got the shish kabob combo and was served a hefty portion - honestly enough for 2 people. The rice was so fluffy and the shish was moist and cooked wonderfully! Total was around $28 with taxes excluding tip - so quite hefty of a price tag but really delicious food worth coming back for.

I had hummus and kibbi both of which were absolutely wonderful and I'm not sure if they make their own pita bread or purchase it but in any case, it was wonderful as well. Lastly, throughout the meal, I had a Turkish coffee, which was probably one of the best Turkish coffees I have ever had. It was smooth, not better and perfectly brewed. There is no question in my mind that I will return to this restaurant. It is good enough to repeat the experience but five stars is truthfully, an understatement at least in my experience on a very, very busy night and enjoyable experience.

I was in line to order to-go but the lady in front of me had the hardest time paying for her order. After several unsuccessful attempts, another lady came by to take my order so that she could put my order to the kitchen first while I waited to pay. I found that to be extremely considerate of the worker to think to do that. Food came out in about 15 minutes. I was so hungry I ended up deciding to eat in my car. A little disappointed that they didn't include any utensils (nor did they ask if needed any), but thankfully I had some extras in my car. I ordered a chicken kebab and they were nice enough to sub my rice for a salad without extra charge. Also ordered the borani bademjan because I'm a fan of all things eggplant. Everything was delicious. The chicken kebab was juicy, moist, and nicely seasoned. However, my favorite item was hands down the borani bademjan. It had large pieces of smoky grilled eggplants and I love the spiced tomato flavors. Yum! Highly recommend for all eggplant fanatics. The borani came with a piece of nan that was good as well. Overall a great find and will be back to try other items.

About a 20-minute drive off the main path, tucked away from the usual traffic and noise, this family-owned spot feels less like a restaurant and more like being welcomed into someone's story. I started with the hummus--silky, balanced, and deeply comforting in a way that only something simple done right can be. Paired with their fresh bread, it set the tone immediately. The mixed grill followed, and it delivered exactly what you hope for: generous, well-seasoned, and layered with flavor without trying too hard to impress. Just honest, confident cooking. What stayed with me as much as the food was the warmth. The staff were genuinely kind, not performative--curious, open, and proud of what they're building. My waitress shared a bit about the family behind the restaurant, their roots, and the intention behind the menu. There's even a small prayer area, a quiet detail that says a lot about the care put into the space. It's the kind of place you don't accidentally find unless you're willing to wander a little--and you should. Bring your friends, bring your family, take your time. Pay attention to the spices, the drinks, the rhythm of the room. SAYAD isn't trying to be seen--it's simply worth discovering.
