    Combo rice plate
    Marco G.

I got the combo rice plate with brown rice. It comes with the salad and a pita bread and it came out hot and fresh. I really liked their white sauce. The location is clean and there's tons of seating. I'll definitely be back.

Almost a 2.5 but have to give a 2. Falalafels were fell awful. Way over crispy and over fried on outside. I was picking pieces out of my teeth after two bites and won't eat any more of them . The lamb over rice was great though some, not alot, of pieces were overcooked almost like Jerry. The white sauce helped me not choke on these few pieces. Flavors were spot on and great but the cooking and care are missing here. Some people can say great but definitely not consistent in the kitchen from my experience. With these Flavors this place can be 5 to 10 stars but no....the kitchen is lacking. Also had the beef kabobs over rice. Overcooked and very dry. Good Flavors but not juicy or even close to quality food from this industry. Very unfortunate as we needed a place like this here but this is not the place. If you do go, get lots of white sauce to hide the overlooking and dryness. French fries are soggy too. Very dissappointed because this type of food is incredible but not here. So dry, everything. Overcooked, no care or love for their food. The flavors, as stated, we're good. Yes you can mix the added onions and natural adds that make you say that was good. However, try their meat, rice, falafel without sauce or adding natural, great sides like onions...etc. disappointing and for a new restaurant in this area? No love in the food. Sad. #:( even the casualties rice was actually undercooked after everything else was overcooked. Not a good kitchen here. Training needed 100%

If you're looking for authentic NYC-style halal food in Katy, this is the spot! Sami's Gyro House delivers bold, fresh, and perfectly seasoned Mediterranean flavors every single time. The chicken over rice is hands down one of the best in the area -- tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. The gyro meat is sliced fresh, the pita is warm and soft, and that creamy white sauce takes everything to the next level. The restaurant is exceptionally clean, and the customer service is outstanding. The staff is welcoming, attentive, and truly care about making sure every guest leaves satisfied. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and the quality is consistent. Whether you're dining in, taking out, or ordering online, you won't be disappointed. Highly recommend the gyro platter, chicken over rice, and their famous white sauce. Definitely a 5-star experience -- I'll be coming back again and again!

The rice was good and spicy. When ordering online be careful cause even though it says the bowls come with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and sauce, you have to add them individually. We didn't know that so our meals were quite plain. I ordered a chicken kebab plate, but was sure that the meat was not chicken. It just put me off and I couldn't really eat it. The hummus tastes like mustard.... Interesting.

Amazing chicken over rice. Gotta do the half spicy half regular rice and add pickles and jalapeño with the white sauce and spicy. Sooo good.

Reminded us of the gyro platters we loved in NY! Better than Halal Guys, too. Service was great, place was clean.

All dinners come with a Greek garlic bread starter. I love their iced tea- fresh brewed and always good! Started to enjoy this first each time I come. It is that delicious, but why can't I find fruit like that anywhere at a grocery store? Give this place a try. Yummy. Officially the authentic Greek restaurant without going overboard. Wait- the homemade 3 layer chocolate cake and the lemon cake! Actually bought a whole one for a large birthday party and everyone wanted to know the bakery name- just Athena's homemade cake! Remember, Greek food is fresh with best ingredients. First, let's talk about the service which is extremely efficient you order at the counter and the weight staff brings out your meal shortly thereafter. The ambience is very plain like a diner very simple but very clean and so if you wanna grab some wonderful Greek food especially a Gyro you'll find no place better at least on the west side of town. The salads are wonderful of which I had a Greek why not I'm in a Greek restaurant but it was chalk full of wonderful, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, onions, and had a great dressing. In addition, I had a Gyro, which I really didn't even eat until later that day because the salad alone was filling. The owner happen to be in on this particular day as he often is in his restaurant. What a pleasant man we discussed what was going on in our community and then what his experience was in Michigan. He's always a delight to speak to. I would highly highly recommend Papa gyros..

I stopped in before an open house nearby, and it ended up being such a highlight of my day. The moment you walk in, it feels like a true family-owned Greek diner--unpretentious, warm, and inviting. Chris, the owner, welcomed me with a big smile and took the time to walk me through the specials, which says a lot about the pride and care behind this place. I ordered the gyro combo and it was next-level. The meat was perfectly seasoned and tender, stuffed generously with all the classic gyro essentials, and wrapped in warm, soft pita. Every bite was balanced and satisfying. The fries were fresh, hot, and flavorful--not an afterthought at all. And the baklava? Flaky, sweet, and rich without being overpowering--absolutely delicious. Don't skip the house hot sauce--it adds the perfect kick and takes the gyro to another level. This is exactly the kind of locally owned business that makes a neighborhood special. Incredible food, genuine hospitality, and the kind of place you confidently recommend to clients, friends, and anyone who wants to experience the area like a local. I'll definitely be back.

Very homey and family-oriented. My favorites are the gyro plate with salad and basmati rice. For anyone who loves hummus, I recommend branching out and trying the muhammara. Roasted red pepper, garlic, pomegranate molasses, walnuts...it's a hidden gem, I don't even know how those flavors work together. The halloumi cheese is good; it tastes just like a mozzarella stick without the breading, my go to low carb option. On the flip side the rice pudding was a miss for me. The rice was al dente and the pudding itself lacked flavor. The beef shawarma had decent seasoning but came out dry and chewy. What I appreciate about Zara's is the variety. There's a wide selection of dishes, so there's something for everyone, and the drink menu is just as extensive. They don't serve alcohol, but the mocktail section is worth a try. If you're into hookah, they offer that as well. My biggest gripe is consistency. When the food is good, it's really good but there are times it feels like it's been reheated, and that's disappointing. When I first found this place, it was always spot on. Lately, not as much. Cleanliness is another concern. My husband once spotted a roach by his side. One roach wouldn't normally bother me..it happens..but after reading several similar reviews, it makes me question the cleanliness. All in all, Zara's is a great low-key neighborhood spot but not everything on the menu is a winner. I never had a problem with the service, and when there was something wrong they're more than willing to accommodate you and rectify the situation.
