I have been a customer of the Taco Fuego food truck in Katy for over a year and have always enjoyed the food and service. Unfortunately, my experience yesterday was so unacceptable that I will never return. When placing my order, the employee taking my order appeared intoxicated. His eyes were drooping and closing, he repeatedly paused, mumbled, and seemed to struggle entering my order. Although this was concerning, I chose to overlook it and waited patiently. After about 10 minutes, I simply returned to ask whether my order had been placed and if it was ready. I was not upset, in a hurry, or complaining. I only wanted confirmation that my order existed because the employee kept responding, "No orders, no orders," despite me showing him my receipt. Due to an apparent language barrier, I called my Hispanic husband and handed the employee my phone so he could ask the same simple question in Spanish. Instead of helping, the employee began yelling at my husband. Another employee joined in, and both started yelling while walking away with my phone. When the phone was returned, I still had no idea what had happened or whether my order was being prepared. The situation escalated for no reason. The employees began yelling at me, aggressively slammed the service windows shut, ignored me, and treated me as if I had done something wrong. I remained calm throughout the entire interaction and repeatedly stated that there was no problem--I simply wanted to know if my order had been placed. Eventually, the food was thrown together carelessly, shoved into a bag, and handed to me with obvious hostility. The food quality was terrible, and the customer service was even worse. What disappointed me most was that this entire situation was completely unnecessary. I was respectful, patient, and simply asking a basic question. The combination of an employee who appeared intoxicated, the aggressive and unprofessional behavior from both employees, and the poor quality of the food made this one of the worst customer service experiences I have had. I cannot recommend this location and will not be returning. read more

I think this was just a really bad day for all employees involved. I'll leave the below for veracity but want to include my previous stuff anyway. I've gotten the food here a few times over the last few years but the service my wife received today was ridiculous and unprofessional. Antonio was present and can vouch for what happened. My wife approached, looked at the menu, and called for my order. At that time the man in the truck pulled the tip jar in behind the window and then moved away from the window when my wife tried to order. Another person (antonio) had to take my wife's order. Bad enough. After she ordered and went to wait in the car a hispanic young man arrived, the same guy put the tip jar back out and took his order with no issue. We won't be back. We go out of our way to support food trucks and the birria ramen is good enough. The guys in the truck are even fighting, slamming items, and throwing things at each other in front of customers. This is at 3:20 PM on June 16th. One of the guys is/was bleeding and this is just a bad day all around. The food is good, the meat is always savory and juicy. Really depends on who you get cooking. Either way I don't appreciate how my wife was treated and I want to believe this was just a bad day. Things to consider. Good atmosphere and solid food truck experience. read more

However, I didn't get the full experience of the Burris tacos because they forgot my consommé, which was really the main point of me trying the Birria tacos. I also ordered steak tacos that I wasn't too crazy about because I like street tacos the most. For the most part I love their food. Halal taco truck, what's not to love? The street tacos are excellent, as are the quesadillas and empanadas. Unfortunately the items containing birria that I've tried in the past were super salty and I never tried them again. I hope they fixed it since. Also the rice, beans, and elote are comically small for what you pay so I don't get those. Definitely try the street tacos! read more

Looking for fire tacos? Look no further than Taco Fuego! Finally a place that lives up to its name and reputation, Taco Fuego is top tier! Let's start with location, Taco Fuego has 5 locations to choose from. A mixture of store front and taco trucks. I decided to stop at their Katy location (taco truck) located at 1005 Katy fort bend road. This truck was very easy to find. My husband and I really wanted give this place a try for a couple reasons, 1. Every picture you see on IG makes your mouth water lol. 2. Their meat is fresh and locally sourced! The truck itself is nice, and clean. Also has a little Led sign that says catch tacos not feelings super cute for an IG photo. Service was quick, friendly and informative. We ordered a few different tacos to try: The Quesabirria Taco~ Birria or chicken, cheese, limes, cilantro and pickled onions on a corn tortilla. This one was really good and it definitely has a bit of a kick. The meat is so flavorful you do not need to add any additional sauces. The Barbacoa Taco~ Beef Barbacoa, cilantro, onions and salsa verde on a corn tortilla. This one was in the top 2 for me. Yum!! That beef was cooked to perfection! The Texan Taco~ brisket, Monterey Jack cheese, corn, cilantro, pickled onions and creamy cilantro on a flour tortilla. My husband inhaled it. Lolol. I got a tiny bite and it was very good. All of the flavors worked together so well! The Shrimp Taco~ my absolute favorite! Fried Shrimp, Monterey Jack Cheese, Sour Cream and Cajun sauce on a flour tortilla. The shrimp was fire. Perfectly seasoned. I don't know what they put in that Cajun sauce but they need to bottle it so I can take it home! Other things to note: Everything is halal They offer a veggie taco option They offer more than tacos. Ex: Ramen, Burgers, pupusas, empanadas, flautas and tamales. Churros for dessert! That Quesabirria taco on its own was so flavorful. The birria pupusa, not so much but it was still good. I loved the acidity from the pickled toppings. It took about 15 mins to get these and the staff was friendly. Definitely will be coming back. read more

My family and I absolutely adored this place. It may seem a bit strange, as it is a food truck off an intersection, but you will not regret stopping by. This was so bad I had to leave a review! The taco was beyond flimsy and had no pickled onions on it. I ate it in the parking lot and went back to the window to ask why wasn't this done correctly. The gentleman stated they ran out and he was sorry. I wish they would've said something. I've never came and had such a bite sized taco. Super duper disappointing! I've been a fan but this taco truck wasn't it at all! I literally kept the cosome dip and went to another truck! Complete waste of money and will never come back to this location again!
