If you're a coffee drinker, you have to try theirs. I like mine black, but you add whatever your heart desires. There's a hint of cinnamon/cardamom that makes you go "Hmm, this is good!!" It's a mild taste, but the aromas will make you wanna refill! I've been here three times. Each time I get the same friendly server, Dannie, (not sure on spelling of her name) but she is super awesome! This food was incredible! We were back and forth on where we wanted to eat, and stumbled upon this place online. When we pulled up we thought it was closed and we almost left - so glad we didn't! Interior was as expected for a small restaurant. The lady who sat us and took our order was extremely nice and helpful with suggestions. She brought us chips and multiple salsas, and even made a super spicy one for us upon our request. Love a good variety of salsas :) The food... the food... the food!!! The food is on point!! Great prices. I got the fajita burrito and it is one of the better authentic ones in Katy area. Not with cheese and chili but one you would get off a taco truck! Drool worthy. The only reason I took 1 off is because I ordered a small guacamole and sour cream to put on my burrito and they charged me $5.99 for the guacamole and $1.99 for a tiny serving of sour cream. ‍ Also I am not a fan of the chips and salsa, but the red sauce they bring out with tacos and the burrito is amazing. Went here on a limb, looking for some Menudo as we happened to be in the area...and I would say if you are looking for some great Mexican flavor here you will find it, this is not the Tex Me version of want to be Mexican food....The menudo has a great rich flavor and is very clean, and you can customize it to your choice, we had some Mexican style tacos that came with grilled onions and potatoes , they were of great flavor and the meat was tender. The two ladies that tend to you are super kind and deliver great service! We had an orchata and Jamaica and both were home made. Some may say This may be a hole in the wall but they probably can sit about 100 people. We even ordered some extra food to go and have for tomorrow. Went there for first time. The street taco was great. The flour tortillas were homemade and perfect. However the Menudo needed help. For 12.99 you get more than enough. 1st time visit was on May 17th, the day after derecho took out majority of power in Houston. We had softball practice in Katy and headed over heights area a few hours early to find somewhere with power/ac for a sit-down breakfast and ran across La Guarecita. The lady that greeted us was welcoming, sat us quickly and brought out water. She informed us that there are no chips and salsa served with during breakfast hours as we were handed our menus. In the kitchen, the cooks had music blaring...I was beginning to think there was a live band back there it was so loud, but it didn't bother us as we were seated at the opposite far wall and were able to talk without yelling. As we waited for water/menus, I began to wonder if this is how they wake themselves up in the morning? My next two visits were at lunch and dinner times and the music was still blaring so it's an all-day thing. 1st visit we order a variety of breakfast tacos, 2 gorditas, huevos de albanil, coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice. Everything was on point... the OJ was refreshing, the tacos were all good, but the standouts were huevo mexicana and barbacoa! The bbcoa was not greasy but not dry and full of flavor. The dish called huevos de albanil was a 1st time try for us and never seen it on the menu anywhere before. Imagine taking a small bowl of beans with the juice cooked with cream, chile, onions, queso fresco, avocado chunks and throw in some scrambled eggs at the end!!! At 1st we were like... "this is a bit weird" but after a couple of bites we were constantly passing the bowl between the three of us! 2nd and 3rd visits were as friendly and as delish as the 1st visit. We had gorditas and tacos of fajita/pastor/bbcoa and menudo. But let us not forget the salsas!!! Even when done eating, I was filling up spoons of salsa and slurping away! My husband thought the birria was pretty good and I enjoyed my chile relleno as well. I came for breakfast one morning and tried their breakfast tacos, the salsa really brings their dishes together. I came on a weekday and it was empty. However, I wish they had more customers! This place is really a hidden gem. Dining in comes with chip and salsa, ask for the salsa verde.. it is the kind you'd find in a good Mexican spot! The light green one? Yes that one. We ordered chicken enchiladas w the red sauce, Birria queso tacos, steak and chicken fajitas and carne asada street tacos. My fav was the Birria. Definitely going back for those. The fajitas (tho not traditional Mexican food) was seasoned perfectly and meats were not dry. The wait staff is small but very accommodating and friendly. Barbacoa tacos are some of the best I've had in Texas. Pastor and quesabirria tacos were great as well.

I had the tacos de tripa and a shrimp cocktail and they were very good! Our server was friendly and attentive. The decor needs to be updated but who really cares when the food is this good. The only thing that I would like them to do, it's to inform their customers that the tip is already included when it's a party of six or more. My wife and I dined in for lunch yesterday. I ordered a plate which had skirt steak on it. The steak meat was nasty and tasted sour like expired meat smells. My wife tasted it and agreed. When I asked management to replace the meal or refund my money, they refused and blamed the taste on seasoning. They should have been willing to comp the meal as I sent the plate back bringing the problem to their attention. I am thinking of reporting this to the health department. read more
