As we waited for our food the waitress brought us chips and salsa, and the salsa was very on point, the way Mexican salsas should be, we were very happy and looking forward to our food after this. We ordered the Chilaquiles Rojos with chorizo and it came with potatoes and refried beans and it was delicious and very authentic. My husband ordered a margarita and we both had water (tap). Neither beverage was very good. As an entree, I ordered the torta de pollo and my husband had the beef chimichanga. The torta was really good. Bread was nicely toasted and all the flavors melded together-highly recommend. Been out of town for a few days without internet so catching up on some reviews. I have been wanting to come here ever since it opened close to my home. I happened to stop by the gas station the restaurant is connected to and noticed a sign advertising $0.75 mini tacos. I thought this would be a great opportunity to taste some of the flavors at a great price. They have two options for the mini tacos, chicken and pastor I believe. I ordered three tacos to go. The restaurant has a nice set up with a bar on one side of the room. Even though there were only a few customers in the restaurant, there were some dirty glasses sitting out on the tables that hadn't been cleaned up. And they weren't cleaned up when I had received my food and left 15 minutes later. That was kind of a turn-off. The staff was friendly and welcoming. One of them had met me at the door and took my order. I thought the timing was a little bit slow. I felt like they were advertising these tacos at a discount and made only two options available so they could push dozens of these out the door as quickly as possible. However, my three tacos probably took 15 minutes. I really couldn't find anything unique about these tacos or something that really struck me. They seemed like standard tacos you could find at any taco stand. And they really are mini - really, really mini. They were smaller than the palm of my hand. I had three of them and didn't feel like I had eaten anything. This was probably a two-star experience, but I gave it three stars for the price. Updating my review after almost three years because I just now started going back. I think there must have been some new management or a menu revision a while back because it all looks a bit different then the last time I went. I avoided this place for so long, but I'm super glad I went back in. Their enchilada section now includes (can't confirm that it didn't before but I don't remember it) an Enchilada Poblanas. It is amazing. That sauce! Magnificent. I have ordered it several times and sometimes it is not AS good as others but it's always satisfying. And that tells me its fresh made, I mean how many times have you made a dish homemade and it came out exactly the same as the times before? Their rice does vary by each time I go too, which I wish was more consistently good, but overall I'm good with the rice. I go back about once every two months or so. I really wanted to love this place as I live so close but it just didn't do it for me. If you are looking for authentic Mexican food this place is for you. If you are used to a certain style that leans more towards Tex Mex then this place is not for you. The chairs and whole set up is so uncomfortable. Think complete dead silence while you shift around in the hardest chair known to man wishing you could just leave. The people are very friendly and super sweet, the parking lot is always busy so I know this place has to appeal to people. I was excited when this place finally opened! But that excitement faded quickly after I got my food. The family and I went for dinner, however, I ordered the Breakfast Burrito. It was very dry, I had to search for the meat in it, the eggs were over cooked, and it needed salsa. It really just wasn't good at all. My son ordered pancakes and they were also dry and well cooked. The wait staff couldn't answer any questions about the menu. They had to ask others. I don't know if they are waiting for their liquor license for hard alcohol, but at the time they only had beer and wine available. The place was clean and had a nice atmosphere! Just not great food. I'll give it another chance in a few months after they get it together. But I'm really in no hurry to go back there. I'll stick with Casa Maria's down the street. read more

I think this place is great. I was skeptical because it's in a gas station strip but it's really good. Flavor is all there. Fast service and friendly people. The place is clean and I like the area because it's so close to home you can have a beer and walk home lmao. I'll have to check out more things on the menu. I think this place has good potential but needs to fix a couple of big issues. Servers need to be more knowledgeable and offer to help understand their menu. I've been there a couple of times and I feel that they lack consistency. I feel like they keep changing their cooks or recipes and that won't help them. Their tacos have barely any meat and it's mostly cilantro and onions. Michelada is not just Valentina or any type of hot sauce and lime! On the seafood side, they need a couple of more items besides "mojarra" I agree with the lady who mentioned that bartender seem to be lost! They walk back and forth and forget about guests at the bar. If they fix some of these issues and I bet that they would have way more people. read more

Waitress chatting at bar 4. Their food is good but not the wow factor you are looking for in a restaurant to keep coming back. I found that their caldo de res is really good but disappointed at the fact that they use frozen corn. Only place i have found with good caldo but the only place they use frozen corn. 5.
