We got Danny as our server, first time in Houston since I was a kid, and first time at Local Table. Service was amazing, and SO friendly and had ALL the answers on the menu. Daughter had hand-crafted lemonade, SO fresh! Crab cakes were good, but order extra sauce with them! It's made in-house, and it's excellent. The Gyro plate has enough meat for two people, but order extra veggies. The pizza was unlike anything I've ever had, and beware: the jalapeños are FRESH!!! I really appreciate that they use all fresh ingredients. Their wedge salad with jalapeño feta dressing is AMAZING... like I could drink it! We love the wraps, the cheeseburgers... the salads. Everything is good here. I heard through the grapevine that the property owners were going to replace the fountain outside of the patio with a splash pad for the kids.... please don't. Had my second meal at Local Table. I love the decor and vibe of the restaurant. Both times our servers have been excellent. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about the food. The appetizers frankly aren't very appealing and there's nothing new to see. When fries are an appy option, you're missing the mark. Their homemade hummus was good but I felt like I could have bought it at HEB, added some pickled jalepenos and served it myself. Main course was more of the same. The meatloaf was tasty but felt like it had been warmed up in the microwave since the temperature varied. Green beans had soggy red peppers throughout and just weren't necessary! Really wanted to have a better meal on our second trip but unfortunately it was as lousy as our first. Really too bad as again I love vibe of the restaurant. read more

I hadn't heard about this place but is fairly central to the Cinco/Katy area and easy enough to get in and out of; its in the Villagio center there at WP and Peek. Not having been there before we asked for suggestions and figured the gyro's might be on what they suggested just going by the other reviews. However being a huge gyro lover, I wouldn't go here for a gyro. My friend had the chicken one and said the same thing. MAYBE if the bread was toasted a bit instead of just seemingly like out of the plastic bag it would have been better? Also the sliced tomatoes, one of my slices was the very end of the tomato and well it just doesn't serve well at a restaurant. At my house sure, use the whole tomato, but again it just seemed odd and off putting to me that I got the part of a tomato that MOST people toss in the trash or compost. The Cajun seasoned fries WERE good though. Crispy, salty; perfect. I'll probably go back and give something else a try before I write them off; For the price I expect better. Also getting seated wasn't the best; there were 2 of us, waited 10 min and there were tables open. Place is really nicely decorated, large and open. Rustic/Texas chic. read more

Great spot in Katy!!! Same owners as Hungry's and the quality is unmistakable. Sit at the bar and chat with Meghan. She has great recommendations and her service is impeccable! I had shrimp tacos (messy but tasty!) with a house salad on the side that was anything BUT the norm. Amazing mix of greens, feta, candied walnuts and yummy balsamic vinaigrette. I absolutely hated this place! I have no idea how it has 4!stars. The food was so bland...I got the steak skewers they were so bland. The rice was awful. The veggies were just as bland as the steak. We arrived at local table around 6pm on a Saturday and were seated immediately. We were served by a young man who i didn't get his name since he did not introduce himself. We ordered the tenderloin tacos, Tuscan chicken, and the cheeseburger, frose cocktail and a beer and our total came to $58.99 without the tip. Prices are slightly high for the portions. And the food was mediocre at best. We typically travel into the city to eat but so many people in our food group on Facebook hyped this place up. I would say if you are well traveled and are a foodie you will not like this restaurant. This is more for the simple taste buds. The plates were basic and the vegetables that came with the dish tasted as if they came out of a bag. The tacos lacked flavor. The Tuscan chicken was alright but nothing was anything to brag home about. I would pass this one up. We won't be returning. read more

Thanks to Josh and all of the amazing staff involved with my granddaughter's wedding reception. The food (kabobs, salmon, etc.) were all perfect. The service was better than we even hoped for. DISCLAIMER: I know the restaurant is new so I cut them some slack, but honestly I expected better from a place run by Hungry's. We went for brunch, because everyone raved about it on Yelp. The day after the vellagio sip and stroll we had a group of 8 come in. We beat the sunday crowd by about 30 minutes. Our server was in training but had our order 100% right. 2-3 managers came by to apologize about things that went wrong (all of which were the kitchen's fault) and promptly blamed the new server. I actually had to stay after to make sure they KNEW It wasn't her, that every mistake is 100% the kitchen's fault. I've served before and I think managers throwing the server under the bus is kind of a jerk move. Especially when they make $2/hour. Honestly the stars are mostly from the food. EVERYONE had to add salt/pepper, etc to their food since it lacked actual flavor. We've eaten Hungry's and knew the two were attached, so maybe our expectations were a LITTLE high, but I'll tell you what we ordered & what we got and you tell ME. Chicken and eggs - Expected: an actual fried part of a chicken, with bones, like a wing, thigh or leg, or at worst a fried chicken breast Received: a flat, ground chicken patty that had been deep fried. no flavor, *suspected* to be a frozen patty by the 3 people that ordered it. also all 3 orders of eggs were overcooked (fried eggs are supposed to be liquid, these went all the way to rubbery) Crab Cake Benedict: Expected: Poached eggs over a tender peice of toasted bread (I think the menu said ciabatta but i forget) with hollandaise sauce. Received: over-poached eggs, half the egg yolk was cooked, over-hard bread with flavorless sauce. I'm not a fan of hollandaise in general, (a lot of people overdo it on the lemon for my taste) so I asked for mine on the side. but the sauce didn't taste like ANYTHING, no lemon, no butter, no nothing that normally goes into hollandaise . how does that even happen?? Greek Omelette: No flavor whatsoever. Recipient wound up salting her meal and still leaving it because it was so bland Overall I'm not really sure if everyone eating here is just so excited to have another place decorated upscale-hipster-y or what. Overall I wasn't impressed. If you change your menu ingredients we may venture back, but honestly I'm not very motivated to do so. read more

As the name implies, this is a wonderful farm to table restaurant in Cinco Ranch area, on the corner of Westheimer and Peek. The ambience and aesthetic is notably rustic and very open concept. There are ample indoor/outdoor seating, but even at lunchtime parking is limited so you may have to take a bit of a stroll. They have weekly specials, so my wife went for the Tropical Mango Salad. The presentation was vibrant and full, and we appreciated the mix of flavors. The mint tea salad dressing gave it a unique taste with a slight spicy kick. I got the chipotle burger and it was massive. I could feed all three of my kids on literally half the burger! I loved how the bun was so much larger to be able to hold all the ingredients in the burger. The Applewood smoked bacon, the freshness of the beef and the chipotle flavor really stood out. It was my first time ordering from here and having it delivered. As with all food deliveries, I knew that there was a chance my food wouldn't be piping hot like if I ordered it in the restaurant. The food arrived right at the 45 minute promised window, and I practically ran back to my house to inspect it. Right away I could tell it was lukewarm, although as already stated, I knew this might happen. I ordered the star favorite Philly Steak Baguette, ice tea, and brownie; while my wife had the Beef Tenderloin Quesadilla. After brushing off the few mushrooms on my sandwich (I'm allergic), I took my first bite. An explosion of flavor hit me. I greedily ate the first piece and looked at my wife for confirmation. The look on her face said it all. There are very few things she ACTUALLY likes, and I offered her the rest of my uneaten sandwich for a piece of her Quesadilla. While the flavor was there, her food was actually cold and mushy and I was disappointed that my fries were the same way. The brownie I ordered for dessert were two tiny squares and I felt for the price, I deserved larger pieces. They were the same size as the mini snack brownies that come in the Mini Debbie packs. For what it's worth, they were moist and quite tasty. They were the only item that my wife enjoyed and she's not big on sweets. All in all, relatively pleased with my order. I wouldn't recommend having anything delivered and strongly caution those who do have allergies to specific foods to check their food before eating (mushrooms might not have been in the description of ingredients in my sandwich). read more

The only suggestion would be to take the crushed red pepper off one of the pizzas ( I want to say the mushroom) as we really struggled with the heat.
