I came here recently for lunch and enjoyed my experience overall. I had the fried egg angus burger (it was huge) and it was a bit overcooked for me, but that was my fault as I didn't specify how I wanted it prepared. The hand cut fries that it came with, however, were excellent! The mimosa flight is a great deal ($10) as it comes with 3 full to the brim champagne flutes. You get classic orange, strawberry, and raspberry to try. I'm not sure what type is prosecco or champagne they use, but it's not anything special. The kids' menu is extensive and the portions are large. It kinda peeves me that the meal doesn't come with milk or juice- there's an up-charge for that. Really?! Comes with a store bought cookie for dessert. No fruit option. Service was a little sluggish. I know it was a busy Saturday morning, but we had to ask for silverware and flag our waitress down a ton. We went there today (12/6) for a late lunch and enjoy the drinks and food. The manage Jose checked on us several times just like the Bar staff. I had the Gyro plate and wife had the beef tenderloin steak meal. Both great. Oh and the sweet potatoes are great. I glad to be able to watch the Football game. At home it was blacked out. Good food, great service and a nice setting. We've come here twice now as a family and have enjoyed the experience both times. The food is very flavorful. You can tell the ingredients are good quality and fresh. I had the gyro platter my first time here and the second times I wasn't very hungry so i ordered a quesadilla. My son tried the Mushroom pizza. I was wanting this dish too so it was good to watch him eat it. The was maybe a tad to many greens on top of the pizza, but that was easy to work around. All in all he enjoyed it. Daughter of mine is a pastafarian. So she went right for the penne dish and downed it with gusto. My wife has had the gyro platter both times. She has many allergy restrictions so this is her safe haven. BEST FRENCH FRIES IN Houston. We have lived in Katy Texas since 1999. In the early years we had to drive into Houston for anything decent. So let me start by saying my wife and I have tried to give this establishment a go about 4 times now. Now I know some folks live this place and it is always busy so I realize it could just be us so I am very aware that this is a personal preference to keep one's taste buds. We ordered the hummus appetizer with the carrots and cucumbers, we asked for the jalapeño hummus which we expected to taste like jalapeño but it was just regular hummus with 3 slices of jalapeño on it. Hmmmm ok. We also ordered the market salad, one with chicken and one with lamb and beef. The salad is a hot mess of flavors. There is something bitter which could be the kale but there were what looked like stems in the salad. It seems like they are fleeting to make this salad more than just a salad. Did not mix well as far as notes and complimentary flavors. The chicken was not seasoned and had burnt edges, the lamb and beef was good but was an odd thing to pair with the salad. The service was slow but our food took forever to come out and then our bill took 30 min to get to us. Note this was well after the lunch rush and there were maybe 3 tables our waitress had to tend to. We tried to like it but just can't. So sad! read more

We used Local Table to feed about 15 people at a company team meeting. We ordered chicken kabobs and beef kabobs with basmati rice, grilled vegetables and Greek salad Our meal arrived on time, nice & hot with plenty of plates, plastic ware, ice for ice tea and seasoning. Dressing for the salad was wisely served on the side. We were all stunned by the flavor of both the tenderloin & chicken breast. Both perfectly grilled, with 2x2 chunks, served on skewers. Not dried out, but moist and tender. The rice was fluffy and the grilled veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, pepper) were spot on. I've never eaten at Local Table, but if they can deliver this quality product, I can only imagine how great it will be out straight of the kitchen. read more

I usually like Local Table but was very disappointed in the Cobb Salad I ordered. A Cobb is traditionally made with iceberg lettuce. This was made with a very curly reddish lettuce that I did not care for. The traditional avocado did not appear in evidence. Overall, it did not resemble a Cobb salad. Fresh and locally sourced produce to table! Local Table says it all in their name and I'm glad to have found this hip and industrial chic restaurant in the Katy area. They have a small bar area but spacious dining room enough to fit a few large parties and plenty of small groups. My party and I were a group of eleven people and we were immediately seated upon arrival. Our server brought us water and then we placed our order for wine and appetizers to begin with. Our server had a tough time getting the bottle of Moscato open but nonetheless delivered a taste of the white wine before continuing to pour the glass. The crab cakes were delicious and I could definitely taste more crab than fillers. The spinach dip on the other hand lacked flavor and was not cheesy enough to form a nice consistency atop the yellow and blue corn chips that are served with it. The quesadilla was pretty good for an appetizer but could easily pass for a small entree for one. I was lucky enough to be able to sample two of the mains we ordered beside my own, including the Mediterranean salmon (feta cheese crumbles, guacamole, salmon, veggies, pita bread, and basmati rice), honey ginger salmon (with a sweet soy flavor and rice with golden raisins), and the chicken fried chicken. The Mediterranean salmon was a delicious choice as I never imagined putting fish, cheese, and guac on one plate. The rice it was served with though was plain and bland, as well as the pita bread. The honey ginger salmon was also very good and the rice mixed with golden raisins were better than the plain basmati. All the fresh vegetables served with the entrees included broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots, all of which were very crunchy and steamed to perfection. Service was just alright and I also do have to mention that when our entrees were being delivered to our table, they did not know who ordered what and there was a mix up of dishes and sides. After the confusion, we got what we actually ordered and pita bread became garlic bread and vice versa. I love this new location!! We went last night and sat on the patio. Great service and great food as always! The new location is stunning! Spacious out door areas and expanded inside dining. I got my tried and true, the Beef Tenderloin Salad, and my husband branched out to something that isn't on all the other menus, an Asian Chicken Salad. We were there close to closing, and the service was still fantastic! This restaurant and all in the family (Hungry's, The 401) are all favorites and repeats of ours! Our friends have recommended Local Table multiple times so one day we decided to have a date night and try out the restaurant. I am extremely glad we finally listened to our friends and discovered a new part of Katy/Cinco Ranch that we didn't know existed. The location that Local Table is in is almost hidden until you park but is perfect! The restaurant was busy but since we were only a table for two, it did not take long to get seated. Some of the seats were a little close together, close enough I could easily hear the other tables conversation, which is really the only downside to the restaurant. Also, if you prefer to eat at home, Local Table does offer take-out which is fantastic! We quickly ordered drinks and an appetizer (you know how it is when your starving, you eat all the things!). The appetizer was delicious (pictured). We then, of course ordered dinner and we were not disappointed. The food was satisfying and we wish we had room to try everything on the menu, especially some dessert. We were looking for a brunch place this morning and unfortunately the original place we had in mind had too long of a wait, by chance this was the highest rated and closest brunch location to there. So I called and they said they had no wait, we arrived and when we walked inside we were very pleased, it has a very welcoming and open concept. We sat at the patio bar, everything was very clean and service was very attentive. Colin ( I think) and the young women he was working with were both amazing!! The food was mainly all fresh, it came out quickly. I ordered the crispy chicken and eggs with the green sauce and mushrooms. It was AMAZING!! My only complaint would have been to cook the potatoes a little bit longer and a little more seasoning. My boyfriend ordered the gyro pita plate and he said his potatoes lacked some flavor as well, but the gyro was great. For drinks we ordered a mimosa carafe to share and it was a good amount for its price. We will definitely be back to try other options! read more

It's Sunday and that means it's Brunch day!!! We decided it was time to give Local Table a shot. We arrived at 10:00, which is early for the restaurant. It's a large restaurant and only three groups were seated. We left around 11:45 and it was considerably more busy. No wait, but not many tables left. We ordered mimosa flights and Bloodys upon arrival. The wait for the drinks was a solid 15 mins. Given how slow it was and the fact the mimosas have fresh squeezed juice, we chalked the delay to the staff waking up. The rest of the experience was timely. We had a large group, so here's the breakdown of offerings: Crab Cake Eggs Benedict - I like the gamble they take on this dish, but it comes up a little short. The ciabatta bread it's served on is good, but a little too thick and washes out the flavor of the dish. The crab cakes have too much filler. If the ciabatta is going to be this thick, then you've gotta pack the crab cakes with flavor. Huevos Ranchero - goodness gracious this wins in every category. When the server brought over the trays of food, the whole table commented on the huevos rancheros hoping it was there dish. It looked that good. Both brunchers who ordered the dish really enjoyed it until the barrage of forks attacked their plates for tastes. Everybody agreed it was excellent. Migas - it's a large plate of goodness. It was well liked. Sunrise sausage wrap - the was ordered with pretty high expectations. It did not meet those expectations. The 'burrito' was not full and lacked flavor. Essentially, it's was egg and jalapeño sausage. This needs to have more ingredients. Maybe some avocado or pico...or both inside. Either way, it needs to be full and it wasn't. The traditional - your typical bacon and eggs with toast. Spinach dip - as soon as this hit the table it was attacked. The order needs more chips for dipping, but the server brought extra chips, so disaster averted. This appy has a layer of grease (aka flavor) sitting on top, which some people may be put off by, but let's get real people...if you're ordered spinach dip you know what you're getting yourself into and extra grease should be welcomed. Mimosa flight - this is a good deal at $10 for three mimosas, raspberry, strawberry, and orange. The juices are freshly squeezed. The consensus was strawberry was the best. Bloody Mary - I ordered mine spicy, which shouldn't surprise anybody. Mine was very good. Comes with a celery stalk and a skewer of red pepper, green pepper, green olive, and lime wedge. Not sure what happened as the first bloody came in a smallish mason jar, but my second came in a large glass. I assumed they ran out of mason jars and so I scored a larger drink. It's Sunday brunch, so I'm going with it. Most dishes come with house potatoes with a nice seasoning flavor and a fruit selection. It makes the presentation nice, but let's back off a little on the fruit garnishing and increase the quantity of house potatoes. Overall, selection is key here. Everyone agreed they wish they would've ordered the Huevos Ranchero, which kinda tells you that nobody was very impressed with the rest of the food. read more

As we prepared to leave the Houston area, a friend suggested Local Table for our pre-airport meal. Sounded interesting - and not knowing the area we dove right in. We were quickly seated - all 13 of us - at a common table and a very enthusiastic wait-person handed out menus and took preliminary drink orders. Looking around, this seemed to be a nice, trendy place serving healthy - or the semblance thereof - food. We weren't disappointed. Local sourced is the new buzzword in restaurants and although none of us questioned the origin of their offerings, the food we received was well-prepared, fresh, and tasty. I can't speak to everyone's plates but the eater next to me ordered the Margherita pizza, which he raved about. My meal was the Black Bean Orzo salad - hit the spot in all ways possible. The cilantro-lime-jalapeno dressing was a big hit with me, although there wasn't as much of a jalapeno bite as I would have thought there would be. Prices (lunch menu) seem reasonable. Be prepared for a fairly high noise level. If we're ever back in Katy, this is a place we'll be eating at. read more

I miss their old veggie sandwich and last recipe for their veggie burger. the new version (with beans under it on the bun?). isn't nearly as good. But like their various vegan bowls. Came here for a friends baby shower for dinner. This place kind of has a modern rustic theme to it. We didn't get much since my wife wasn't feeling well so I got the philly cheese steak with sweet potato fries. Keep in mind the sweet potato fries aren't on the menu so you need to ask for them. The sandwich was decent. It have chunks of meat, provolone cheese and some bell peppers and onions. I I probably wouldn't get this again because it just didn't excite me like other places. The fries were good though. We love sweet potato fries so this ended up being a good choice Overall it was a decent experience.
