I had a great experience with Leila! Came in for a manicure on Sunday at 10:00 am. You need to make an appointment with her and call her when you arrive. At first I thought it was sketchy because the store where she rents from was closed on Sunday. However once she came and got me from outside and brought me upstairs, it was totally fine. I've been rocking my manicure for over a week now with barely a chip. She uses the nail polish Dazzle Dry which lasts longer and has less chemicals. Leila was wonderful! She is located inside of the retail store "Do the Extraordinary" upstairs. You will definitely want to call her ahead of time and make an appointment; she is in high demand - rightfully so. When I came upstairs, her absolutely adorable and wonderful dog George greeted me. If you're a dog person like me, you will love him!! Leila has a very comfortable chair for you to relax in. It has a heated plate that vibrates for your feet to enjoy. Something that was different to me was that she did not soak your hands and feet in water, and although in my mind I was unsure, I just went through the appointment. By the end, I realized she did not need those things, and I enjoyed my experience with her more than any I had before. She asked me about the shape I would like with my nails and was very careful to ensure I loved every detail of what she did. She also did an incredible job with my cuticles, and when I went with a natural buff on my nails and toes, she was not kidding about having the best product to shine. How and where to begin? I might have given a second star, for reasons I will describe anon. But I won't, for a far more important reason. I am in Seattle attending a professional conference this week. I have one chipped nail from a gel manicure I had a week ago in NYC (these things happen). I am fussy about my nails, so I "Yelped" to find a highly rated nail salon in what, for me, is an unfamiliar town. That would be Leila - given all of her 5-star reviews. Even without those reviews, Leila herself confirmed her status when I first called to request an appointment. She said "Sorry, I'm booked solid till after 10pm!" I asked for a recommendation for another salon. "I'm the best," she exclaimed! I said, "I know that, which is why I called". Leila then not only shared the name of another salon, but texted me "Penelope's" number. That is where a second star might have come in. As it turned out, Penelope was also heavily booked and could not see me. So I called Leila back to ask if she had any time available the next day. We settled on a 6:00 PM appointment. I then realized that time would conflict with my conference, so I called Leila again to ask if she might be available at 9 o'clock in the morning. She said yes and gave me directions to her establishment. I was very relieved to know that I would have my nail fixed and a proper manicure before the start of my conference. The next morning, I left my hotel early to meet Leila. As described in another review, I had great difficulty finding her location. I called Leila again, and she said she was on the north east corner of Olive and 4th. Not being from the city, I had difficulty determining which was the right corner. I was helped by a friendly stranger who assured me I was standing on the right corner. I called Leila again to let her know I was standing on the corner. She said, "if you were standing on the right corner, I would see you." I said, "Here I am, dressed in black." She then waved and I finally connected with her. Leila then said, "do you have an appointment?" I said,"Yes, don't you remember? I changed our appointment from 6 o'clock tonight to 9 o'clock this morning." There were two young women standing on the staircase in front of Leila. She said "Well , they have an appointment now." The two girls agreed to wait for Layla to give me a manicure. I said, "Well that could take a long time. Leila said, "They said they're willing to wait." I then followed Leila and the two girls up the stairs to the salon. I will say that it looked like a very comfortable and lovely room. When I sat down, Leila looked at my nails and said, "what is this?" I reminded her that I told her in our earlier conversation that it was gel. She said, I know that but what kind? Is it this," she asked, waving a bottle of nail product in front of my face. I said, "I believe so. But I'm not sure." Leila was visibly annoyed, raised her voice and said "It makes a difference! I need to know what's on your nails because they use different remover." By now, her voice was raised to a level that made me feel very uncomfortable and so unwelcome that I worried, despite her storied Yelp reviews, she would rush and continue to yell at me through what I had expected to be a relaxed and pleasant spa service. I told her that I wanted to leave. Leila said, "Why? I already told you that the girls are willing to wait, and I can take your gel off. I'll just file your nails and use a different remover." I told her that the main reason I was leaving was because she was yelling at me and making me feel very unwelcome. She said, "I'm a New Yorker. We yell." I reminded her that I am a New Yorker, and explained that I do not yell and do not like being yelled at by anyone, least of all a person who I am paying to provide a service. As I walked past the two waiting girls, Leila followed, saying she had 15 back to back appointments. I said, "Yes, you mentioned that earlier. You have made it very clear that you do not need my business."She said, "Clearly I do, or I wouldn't work this many hours in a day!" Again, Leila offered to recommend a different salon. And again, that tempts me to offer a second star. However, before posting this review, I saw another 1-star review from Theresa C. If you read her review carefully, you will see many similarities in our experiences. This suggests that I may well have spared myself a painful experience at the hands of an angry, over-scheduled woman. Leila no doubt shapes and paints a pretty nail. However, she is not very professional when it comes to managing her own schedule or in her ability to communicate calmly and politely with her clientele. Leila, self-described as "the best," needs to get over herself. read more

I wouldn't have been as upset as I was if the cost was the same as what is posted on her website, but I was charged $10 more than that. I found Leila through yelp and all the reviews had given her 5 stars. I went to check her out for pedicure and man, she was so great!!! All those reviews were 100% right. She is super nice, knows what she does and does an amazing job. Keeps her place very clean, uses no water which is what everyone should do, changes gloves many times, new filers etc., simply hygienic. Your feet get pampered a lot and they feel so smooth afterward. Worth every penny! I will definitely try her other services too and I think I found my 'go-to place' for pedicure.
