Updating my review for COVID: Myano has really impressed me with the care they've shown during COVID. The spacious layout and high ceiling make it perfect for social distancing, but they've gone above & beyond to make sure it's a safe space for all customers and staff alike. Aside from reduced capacity, they've installed barriers for the manicure stations. All the staff are wearing gloves and masks. They also diligently clean in between customers and use brand new and/or sanitized equipment (as they've always done). They're fast, attentive, and have the most extensive nail polish collection I've ever seen. The only downside is really that Third Ave continues to be a not-so-great part of downtown where you'll see people loitering, but that's not something Myano can do anything about. I visited the salon as a walk-in and waited for about 15 minutes before I was seen. Very nice young girl who told me is 21 was doing my pedicure and manicure. She was very nice and detailed oriented. I liked her service. Before she started my services, she informed me how much it would cost by first checking with her boss on the floor. I was there for over an hour and I asked her a few questions. We had a conversation , I asked her question if she liked working there and if she liked her boss and she made a facial expression which told me all. I decided then and there to tip her cash for the service and I left $20 on the table for her when I checked out the boss saw that, and he charged me six bucks more because he said she forgot to add the cuticles work, which is not true she asked him for the final price before she started my service and so definitely a slimy business and I'll not go back. The people working there need to at least know what their doing. I had the worst experience yesterday. I went in for a pedicure & it was a younger guy & he did not know what he was doing. I wanted a $55 pedicure. Which includes a good foot massage & all that. What i received was not worth $55. An older lady had to come every 10-15 minutes to show him what he needed to do, obviously where I couldn't understand their language. But could obviously see what was going on. On top off that my nails are really bad. He asked if he can glue a broken nail & I said ofc, easy fix, but he for some reason couldn't glue the nail properly. He came out with some acrylic for my big toe, it looks like a bubble not even joking & I had to ask him to make my toe nail straight 5 times & it's still crooked. They wanted me to get gel polish so bad when I had already said I wanted regular. On top of alllll that, the nail shop closes at 7pm I got there at 5:57pm & didn't finish until 7:30. But the woman doing my nails made it one of the most painful manicure experiences I have ever had and I was just getting regular polish. I do my own nails but I was in a time pinch and needed to get my nails done while on a trip. Big mistake. Everyone was very friendly but the woman doing my nails had zero idea and I mean ZERO idea to what she was doing. She also didn't speak any English which made it extremely difficult to communicate with her. Every single nail is a different shape and size. The color was not the color I asked for. After correcting her for the fourth time and being there for two hours I just let her finish the set hoping they would end up looking ok. They did not. When I brought this up to the manager he just laughed and said he could fix it for me. I'm like I don't know what's funny and I don't have another two hours to wait here. So he gave me $15 off. This should have been free for wasting my time. Zero apex, horrible shaping and no consistency. I'm annoyed I paid $50 for this set. Always remember trust the reviews. I stopped in for a mani & pedi without and appointment and was seen quickly. The relaxing mani and pedi was well worth the price. They have complimentary tea as well as hard seltzers for an additional cost. The massage chairs are a relaxing touch to your visit and there is a lot of space for groups. Where do I begin... Man I walked in and thought ooooh. Fancy. Then I was greeted by a dude that had zero skills other than turning me off. Kept blowing off the few questions/inquiries I presented re the difference in powder dip vs gel etc. Next I get "Sheila". Nice enough but again, seemed to give zero f's. Recommended dip. I go with it. They take over 1 1/2 hrs and look so awful. The shape is bulky. The base is void of color (dip powder...). After 2 days they have this inner cracks in them and all of the cuticle area is crusted with an adhesive build-up that o can not help but continue to pick at to try to remove. The worst part is that the technician has to manually shape the whole glob. And my technician did a terrible job. They sort of resemble five spatulas on small fingers like scoops. Just the worst. Desk guy/ Staff not friendly. 2 people working on a Saturday. No clients. Don't bother. read more

I came home and cried today. I've been to this salon many time, I always tip well, give them plenty of time to do my nails and have natural long nails. I had my nails done in Mexico and they were orange so when I got back from my vacation I wanted a color change. The lady doing my nails kept asking me if I wanted a new set and I had a hard time explaining to her that they were my nails and I just wanted a color change. She kept filling my nails and 3 times I asked her to please stop. She then tells me that it would be better to get dip gel nails but instead put acrylic over my natural nails. She then started to file again at this point I just got up and told her I will leave. My nails hurt and look horrible I can't believe someone would take my amazing nails and mess them up like this!!!!!!! Location - easily located downtown in close proximity to Pike Place market Cost - Very reasonable for VIP pedicure [$50] I flew into town and decided to look for nail shops for a pedicure. I was hesitant about Myano just because of Yelp, but I had a wonderful experience! The business was extremely clean and the staff was very friendly. The spa is a huge space with multiple seating for pedicures. I was a walk in during the week day and was able to be seen immediately. I'm in town for a business trip, came here in the am to get my set of SNL dip Nail removed and get them filed and cleaned up. Nail tech was not good at all, she went to take out my nail and took a huge chunk out of it. I told her it was hurting and if she could file them off instead of trying to pull them out with that white little plastic thing ( not sure how the name of the procedure is called) she did that on the other nails but wanted to soak this specific nail where she just took a chunk out in polish trying to play it down her mess up... I refused because it was hurting bad. She did a rushed job and honestly I'm displeased with the whole thing. Still had to pay $15 bucks despite what she did to my hand. TLDR: If you're coming here to get your nails done, go see Mya! She's such a lovely lady, and meticulous about her work! I'm addicted to nail polishes and admittedly have a crazy collection of them at home so I normally do my own nails. But I have a wedding coming up and decided to pamper myself, plus I actually did my nails myself and took some shot of the ring on my finger and saw that my nails looked messy so I realized I needed the help. This nail salon & spa is located just across from my office building so my boss and my coworkers regularly come to have their nails done here during lunch time. I've seen the consistent great work from here so I felt very comfortable walking in here impromptu today. The lady behind the counter greeted me and I told her I wanted to get a manicure. When she asked what kind of manicure I wanted, I just showed some pictures of the nail designs that I was looking for. She told me to show them to another lady sitting nearby who then explained to me the base cost for the gel nail polish and that they charge 50 cents per diamond that I wanted. The cost sounded fair to me so I said okay and she took me to the back where Mya was (the lady who was going to work on my nails). Again I showed her some of the pictures of the nails that I wanted to her. Mya was such a sweetheart! She was friendly and remained meticulous throughout! She removed all the dead skin from under and around my nails. She went back to clean them up so many times that there was no longer extra skin on my nails, plus she was very gentle. I like to keep my nails short and since it was for a special day, I was requesting this and that.. but she already had the perfect design on her mind for my nail shape and all, based on those pictures I showed her earlier. She asked me the shape of nail that I like (square!) and then trimmed them exactly like that. Then soaked my nails, apply some cuticle oil, and after repeated application of the nail polish, the beautiful Simone diamond, putting them nails under the UV lights, she finished it up with a hand lotion and a hand massage, and finally with a warm towel to wipe off everything. She was quite chatty but not in an overwhelming kind of way, and showed me some pictures of her younger self and her family while my nails were drying. She made me feel very comfortable during the one hour of the manicure session. She kept checking with me if I was happy with the work so far or not, etc. She's very professional but makes you feel like you're being taken care of by that kind and loving aunt of yours. She's really great at what she does. I've been to other nail salons before and know that some nail tech can be too rough, damaging your skin or nail bed when they're rushing etc and I've left some salons with beautiful manicure and pedicure but also suffering from tiny but deep puncture or a tear on the cuticle that felt like continuous papercuts. I got acrylics done and for what ever reason they use regular polish.... I have never been more disappointed in my life. Not even two seconds after I stood up from the chair my nails were instantly damage because the nail polish wasn't dry yet. They were closing so basically kicked out. I pointed out the damage and they said to come back tomorrow. An hour later at dinner one of my acrylics broke off. Because nails were obviously still not entirely dry they just kept getting uglier and uglier. Next day must of the nails started peeling off. I finally decided to ripped them off.. mind you, it was like peeling off a stick on nail. I finally came back into Salinger to explain the situation and what had happened. They guy at the front basically said... "oh that happens, it's normal !" To my horror he added that I probably was parting all night and why this happened.... I told him that I just wanted a refund as I was not going to justify the lack of professionalism and craft. After every other place nearby was booked I decided to give Myano a try when they could accept my walk in appointment (gel mani/pedi). I was promptly and pleasantly greeted at the front, however I was slightly rushed to my seat (given a minute to review gel colors). They are set up to perform manicures and pedicures simultaneously which I am not a fan of, however it was more pleasant than other simultaneous mani/pedis I've had before. Dennis, Dennis, he's our man, if he can't do it no one can! First, a little back story; I have 2 deformed finger nails due to a chronic illness as an infant. When I was a teen my parents let me get acrylic nails. So, I have been getting acrylic nails (off and on) for over 20years. I went into myano today and Dennis knew exactly what to do! He put a base of acrylic on my 2 deformed nails so that the tips would stick (a trick that a nail tech used to do for me years ago in San Francisco but no one has done since because they never understood what I was trying to tell them so I gave up trying). Then he put the rest of the nails on and they look great! Very natural!!!!!! The place is clean and no one forces you to chit chat. I was able to relax and enjoy the chatter around me. This was my third stop while looking for a nail salon open near me on January 2nd. The first was closed, and the 2nd was too busy with only two technicians. Myano was open and had technicians ready to help me right away. Long story short, the gentleman who did my nails did a great job with the almond shape I asked for, and with the shellac as well. In more detail, he gave me useful advice on my nail length and on the colors I was choosing for my nails. You could tell that he didn't want me to be unhappy with my choices. He was quick but very detailed, which I appreciate. The downsides for me of the experience were: - cleanliness - inventory of nail colors I'm not saying this place is filthy or anything close. You can tell it has been cleaned. But you can also tell it needs a more thorough cleaning to get in the cracks and crevices--you know, where dust and dirt just naturally builds up over the years. Also, there was a candle burning in the same spot that I'm guessing all the candles before it have been burned. And you can see the black soot running all the way up the wall. Inventory-wise, I chose a few colors that I wanted to try that weren't available before I settled. I'm going to chalk this up to the holiday season. But I'll update once I go again for a fill or new set. read more
