I have been going to this location for over a year now and it is one of the best places I've been for waxing. Alicia does my brows and Brazilian. She makes me feel so comfortable and is overall the sweetest human. I am a plus size girly so I am always nervous when I have to expose myself to a stranger, but Alicia makes me feel so safe. The facility itself always looks clean and smells amazing! Not that I normally would say I look forward to a Brazilian wax, I don't dread it all. read more

super nice and communicative, did a great job and had good deals! also in my neighborhood for convenience

First time at WTC, and had a pretty good experience. Staff were all super friendly, and salon was very clean and inviting. Alicia was very gentle and the experience wasn't as painful or intimidating as I originally anticipated as it was my first time getting a Brazilian. The conversation definitely kept me distracted the whole time and Alicia did a great job at making me feel comfortable. Price was a little on the higher end for services, but nothing crazy. Only disappointing thing was there were still quite a few patches of hair I ended up having to wax off at home and my strip leaned a bit more to one side than the other LOL. My appointment was meant to be for an hour and it finished in roughly 30 minutes time, so they definitely had time to be a little more thorough. Overall, it was a good experience and I would definitely consider going back. read more

I LOVED my appointment with Theo and cannot wait for my next. Theo was so quick, thorough and sweet. I am so happy with my results. Theo had great recommendations and my brows came out exactly as I wanted (and I'm so picky!) A pain free leg and brow wax experience- thank you so much Theo! read more

I went here for the first time and will definitely be returning. Alicia was great! She had a very gentle touch and kept me talking and laughing through the whole appointment. My brazilian turned out great, and I barely felt a thing. I also want to note that I'm a bigger gal, and these kinds of appointments can be awkward and intimidating for some of us. I did not feel a single hint of judgment while I was here. It was a 100% welcoming and inclusive environment. The salon was very clean and everyone was very careful about COVID protocols, which made me feel very safe about being there (sanitizing, distancing, masks, etc.). read more

I love, love, love, LOVE it here. I've been coming to various WTC locations for about three years now but have most often been to the Ballard location where I see Morgan regularly. She's the best! But the entire team is so friendly and genuinely warm--from the front desk employees to the cerologists--and there is always high-quality hot tea available in a variety of yummy flavors. Other pluses: well-stocked product options for post-wax and other beauty items, cute seasonal decor and sweet notes that they post in the shop to welcome back returning clients. Not only that, they offer different membership packages that will end up saving you lots of $$$ in the long run if you come often enough. But the best part (in my opinion) is their WAX. Somehow it barely hurts at all compared to other wax solutions at competing salons. A MIRACLE! Go here for your next wax. read more

They were able to get me as a walk-in on Saturday. Couldn't be more impressed with the friendly staff. Margret is an amazing artist and really knows her brows! I'm impressed. Will be back with friends and family. read more

I went over here to get a brow was and was pleasantly surprised. I like how Waxing the City has options listed specifically for each gender. This let me know that I wouldn't feel awkward coming here and that they would know not to overdo my brows (the service is called Men's Masculine Brow Tailoring). The online booking is super easy and location is convenient. When I went in, the ambiance was pretty neutral which I appreciated. There is nothing more uncomfortable for a guy than going to a waxing bar or spa full of pink frilly decor and floral scents. The girls at the front desk were very friendly and I didn't not feel that they were pushy at all when informing me of the services. Morgan did my waxing and I thought she was very friendly and nice. She was easy to talk to and did a great job on my brows! I don't feel that she rushed at all and I appreciated that she told me to be straight up and honest with her. She said she would rather have me be happy with the outcome than anything else. Also, I appreciated that there weren't any girly or floral lotions that were used. Overall, I really enjoyed coming to this place. As a male, feeling comfortable at waxing places can be very hard. However, I felt 100% comfortable at this place and already rescheduled my next visit. I look forward to being a regular customer here. read more

So far very good! I recently moved to Seattle and needed to find a new wax place, so when I noticed this place close to my apartment that was specialized in waxing and offered a discount to first time clients I had to give it a try. Definitely worth trying. Service was great and quick (most important thing for me), and the fact that they offer a multiple session package really sealed the deal, so now I'm a customer at least for the next year. Totally worth it signing up for the package since I do this every month and this way I get a bit of a discount. Also, props for setting up the system at checkout to tip based off of the regular price instead of the discount, it's good that employees get a fair tip. read more

I've been getting my brows waxed here for a few months now, Margret always does a fantastic job and it's a pleasure to chat with her :) can't recommend enough! read more

I will never go back to shaving ever again. I treated myself on my birthday for a Brazilian. (I was terrified). I picked Elena, and she was AMAZING!!! I cannot say enough how comfortable she instantly made me feel. She explained everything so well, the shop follows great covid protocols to ensure safety. I just went for my second time & I'm a customer for life. Elena is quick & takes her time. I highly recommend her. Thank you Elena and Alyssa for amazing service. read more

I LOVE waxing the city so much! Margaret is my wonderful caretaker who works so efficiently and gently! She always makes me feel great about myself and creates such a welcoming and safe environment. I think she's even increased my self esteem! The products they use are great and have caused me no issue. I highly recommend waxing the city for all your waxing needs because the service is just incredible. read more

Absolutely LOVE waxing the city!!! Margaret is my go to, but all of the girls are amazing and great at what they do. Highly recommend

Just had the best waxing experience of my life. Everyone is so kind, welcoming, and professional. They don't try to push products or make you sign up for anything that you don't want to. Deborah and Alyssa were absolute gems and I'm now a regular customer. read more

First time visiting Seattle from the East coast, and Waxing The City was recommended. Had no idea it was almost a 30-minute ride from where I was. I moved my appointment up and was 15 minutes late. They graciously worked me in when I arrived, which I was so happy about. The customer service is stellar. The products used are of very high quality. The best Brazilian I have ever had. Hands down a great place to go for your waxing services. Shoutout to Morgan for working on me quickly and doing such a great job! read more

Had a great waxing experience with Elena! It can get a bit pricey to have multiple areas done but it's well worth it to know it's at a safe and comfortable establishment. read more

Temporarily relocated to the PNW from FL and one of my biggest things was finding a place that I'd be comfortable with and that could give me the best experience for such an up close and personal service. I researched prior to starting my trek across the country and I knew I found my spot! Margaret was absolutely amazing! She is very meticulous and awesome at her craft and made me feel 150% at ease. I've been getting waxed for over 4 years and this by far is most painless wax I've ever had! I loved the receptionist also, but I forgot her name! She was super helpful and had an amazing energy about herself! read more

Brittney was so awesome, and really made the experience a pleasure! I was skeptical at first because I had never had a service done, but I will definitely make this a routine! Thank you! read more

Seems to take a lot longer then my regular waxing lady. Overall great experience, friendly staff! Price is high.

I moved from California and I have tried to find my new waxing spot. After yesterday , I think I found it. I love the fax they use for the Brazilian , it is not the paper wax but actual wax, which is what I was trying to find. I was hoping the same type of wax they use in the Brazilian that they use it on your legs, but that is not the case ... they use the paper on your legs, which was sad to discover because I'm trying to find a place that do not use the wax that needs the paper. However, for sure this will be my place to go because: A) even if I would like the same wax they use in the Brazilian to use it in the legs, I don't mind it B) the wax they use in the Brazilian is what I was looking for C) I needed to booked 2 appts in separate days, and they noticed this and called me and opened the place earlier for me D) The person who wax me was amazing, her name was Deborah read more

I just had my first waxing experience in my life. I actually almost cancelled my appointment because of the anxiety. So glad I didn't. Deborah did my bikini wax. She is amazing!!! Quick and gets it done. I think it was more ticklish than anything at times. I'll be back; I'm hooked already. Alyssa at the front desk is a sweet gal too! read more

It was my first time getting a waxing and Deborah made everything very easy. She was very friendly but professional and made my men's Brazilian go very smoothly. ...is that a waxing joke?? It could have been awkward but she was so easy to get along with and explained everything so well that I knew I had nothing to fear. I'm happy with the results still after a few weeks, and will definitely come back to visit Deborah at Waxing the City Ballard for my next Brazilian. read more

I have been coming to see Deborah for almost 2 years, and she is so wonderful that I drive all the way from Burien to Ballard for a wax. Deborah and her team are so professional, so fun, so courteous, so accommodating, so great. The wax itself is painless, Deborah so quickly tailored the service to my needs and comfort. Also, she's so wonderful to chat with I sincerely look forward to driving the 30 minutes to get my hair removed, lol. Deborah, if you're reading this. You are the sh*t. xo S read more

An update: Wow! The day after my leg/bikini wax, I have lots of red white heads between my thighs and bikini line. I don't get waxed very often (more for vacations or special occasions) but I have never had a reaction like this. Maybe I do better with sugaring or certain waxes? Didn't do anything since the treatment besides letting the area breathe during the day (long skirts yay!) and overnight, so this is weird. Going to use a compress and sanitize it myself. Definitely ask about what they use and if same day care is necessary. A warning about the 50% for new customers promo: if you get a combo service (such as legs and bikini) they itemize your bill and you're not technically getting 50% off. Service was OK. I left with a hairy spot on one knee and some dried wax still stuck to me. Still, very clean space and easy to get to. read more

Really great experience. Sarah is a great esthetician who is fast, gentle, and makes the experience as painless as possible. I was so impressed by her that I ended up getting the 10 package (+2 free). Overall I recommend Waxing the City- great service at a reasonable price read more

I am finally posting a review after more than two years coming to this place for my Brazilian wax. The staff at Waxing the City (Ballard) is so nice and accommodating, I am sometimes a disorganized person and have had to reschedule appointments several times, they always were helpful and super nice about it. Elena is probably the nicest and most profesional cerologist in the world, she always made me feel super comfortable and safe and made sure I got my next appointment taken care of. The times she wasn't available, I was with Morgan, who was also great with me. They have different membership options that save you about 20% in their services, which is great, especially if you are a frequent costumer. Overall, great place, very welcoming, would aaaalwaus recommend. read more

I'll add my five stars for sure. Deborah gets it done well and quick and super professionally. I've been to other providers in the area and nothing against them, but Waxing the City is just that little bit extra. You'll notice they're a bit more pricey. Just consider, if you don't already have a waxer you're super happy with, with something as sensitive as waxing, isn't it worth it to got the job done by someone who's that much better? I'd include pictures with this post, but... y'all don't really want to see that, do you? ;) read more

I went into waxing the city to get my chest & arms waxed. It was my first time ever having a wax. I was pretty nervous and worried about getting ingrown hairs. I feel pretty lucky to have had Savanah H. as the one to perform my service. She was friendly and easy to talk too. I would definitely recommend working with her to anyone who is on edge about getting waxed. Thanks Savanah / waxing the city. You guys rock!! read more

I have been twice to Waxing in the City. Both times have been wonderful. My first visit was as a walk in, and I was greeted graciously, had a short wait and then was introduced to Sarah who was to do the waxing for me. She did such a fabulous job that I will be visiting her on a regular basis. I have been waxing on one part or another since my mom took me as a teen to tame my brows. I can honestly say this has been the least painful waxing experience I have ever had. I highly recommend this place and Sarah. Side note, for any PCOS ladies like me, it's super PCOS friendly, I didn't feel judged at all and was told they have many PCOS clients. I walked in feeling like a bearded lady and walked out feeling gorgeous! read more

I went to Deborah for a modified Brazilian and she was AMAZING! I have only had a few Brazilians before and she gave me so much information, talked me through everything and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. She recommended good products for my sensitive skin but wasn't pushy. For what the situation was-- she made it incredibly pleasant and as comfortable as it could be. Wish I could give her more than five stars! read more

I need to tell you guys about my girl brittney. She does an INCREDIBLE job. THIS PLACE IS THE BEST! I've been looking for a good waxing place in Seattle for 2+ years and have finally found it here. Their wax is great for sensitive skin and everyone that works there is super friendly. Sarah is amazing - I went in first to get my brows waxed and they have never looked better! I had such a great experience I went back today for a Brazilian and it was by far the best bikini/Brazilian I have ever had. read more

If you're looking for a place to get your brows done in Seattle, this is the place to go, and Lei is the girl you need to see. Lei has been shaping my brows every two weeks for over a year. I was anxious on my first visit after moving to Seattle, and Lei did not disappoint. She asked me about what I wanted, gave me recommendations of what she thought, and went to work. She made great conversation, was super gentle - and made me feel really welcome. Honestly, it was the best my brows have looked - and people in my life noticed. After that, there was no looking back, 30 appointments later..Lei is my go to girl. Her attention to detail goes above and beyond her waxing skills, and into her ability to build amazing relationships with all of her clients. She makes people feel comfortable and confident in her abilities. I recommend her to all of my friends, and now to all of you. The entire staff at this location is super friendly and have great product knowledge. I couldn't recommend them more! Thank you to Lei and team for all you do! read more

As a working esthetician, waxer and trainer I'm super picky about who I let wax me because I've had more bad waxes than I and my lady bits care to remember. So when I made an appointment with my treasured friend and fellow esthetician, Sarah Tucker, I was excited for her to show me her bag of tricks. Wow! I'm not exaggerating when I say she gave me the most fantastic & painless Brazilian I've ever had. Her skill and technique is above and beyond what I could have imagined and I whole-heartily endorse her and highly recommend her services - even to my own clients. Go see Sarah! She's a true professional and you will love her! read more

I just moved to the city a few months ago, and I visited another waxing salon before coming to see Brittney. My experience at the first salon was not great (lifted my skin and left scars, used soft wax on my Brazilian, etc), which is how I ended up at Waxing the City. Brittney was professional, understood my skin, and made me feel comfortable during my first visit to your particular location. The facility was clean, which was another plus. The wax was their own blended hard wax - gentle enough for my sensitive skin. Amazingly, I walked out without a mark or any redness. I am glad I have found a friendly and competent waxer in Brittney. Thank you, WTC! read more

Deborah was AMAZING! So sweet, caring, friendly, vivacious, quick, efficient and detailed! I couldn't have been happier with my brazilian and full leg wax even though I was dreading it for days because I haven't kept up in over a year when I lived elsewhere and am usually so afraid of the pain! So glad I found this place and already rebooked with this waxing whisperer! read more

It was my first time getting a bikini wax and I have to say ELENA ! YOU ROCK MY socks ! I felt right at home. I mentioned I was cold the second I walked in and the receptionist offered me some hot tea(they have a VARIETY!). Then through the process I felt confident bout everything. Walked out as a super content customer. I made a second appointment immediately no hesitation! DUH GUYS ILL BE BACK SO SHOULD YOU :) read more

With an upcoming warm weather holiday, I knew I needed to get in PRONTO to get waxed. Waxing the City is located within a 10 minute walk from my work in Ballard, and they just happened to have a last minute appointment that I could take during my lunch hour. Dakota was my esthetician, and she was fantastic. The type of waxing is sensitive for most ladies, and given that I already have extremely sensitive skin, waxing in general is not something I enjoy but is a necessary evil. Dakota was incredibly talented, taking her time but also getting a lot of hair without the waxing causing me too much discomfort. I actually commented to her how gentle the waxing was, because while it was uncomfortable, it was not painful like other waxing done (not at Waxing the City). I didn't even realize they offered 50% off your first visit if you a new client, which was a total bonus. They also have a membership plan which nets out to be nearly 50% off their waxing, which is a smoking deal (but you have to commit to a set number of waxing sessions and pay in installments). Dakota was fantastic, friendly, and skilled. I will definitely be back! read more

I had my brows shaped and waxed by Deborah - she did an excellent job ! Would highly recommend her work !

I've been availing myself of esthetician services for more than 10 years, and Deborah Riley is the best waxing technician I've ever had. I've gone to other (more expensive) salons in the neighborhood, and while no one has deliberately tried to make me "feel uncomfortable" per se, I've not felt completely at ease in that I get a sense they would rather be working on a woman. While it's extremely common in Los Angeles, very few men go to waxing salons up here, and Deborah is the only person I've found who is willing to do a "full body wax" for a man (again, this is common in L.A.) If you're a man and reading this, you might want to start with a "Gentleman's wax," which includes the eyebrows, ears and nose. Believe me when I say that you will breathe MUCH easier with your nose hairs removed. This is especially important if you suffer from sleep apnea. Otherwise, I would recommend to men that you remove all your unsightly body hair, including chest, back and legs, as women greatly prefer a cleaner, smoother look. Whether you're a man or a woman, I cannot recommend Deborah Riley and this salon highly enough. read more
