I went regularly for over a year. I think the place is a little dirty. There's stains on the spa bed and the place has terrible ventilation. However, It was a decent enough experience for a while, until recently. I went in and waited 30mins after the start of my appointment. Eventually Ileah came out of the spa room and I showed her my confirmation. She said it was cancelled. I never cancelled it or got an email saying it was cancelled. Her system got messed up, but she did not try to appease me as a loyal customer by squeezing me in or giving me a discount for wasting my time. I ended up going to Radiant Waxing since they were able to squeeze me in same day. It was a pleasant experience. Most of their prices are cheaper and their salon is way cleaner. There's other salons in caphill, so you don't need to settle for terrible service where they don't respect your time. read more

My waxer was friendly and quick. I had to wait a few minutes which wasn't bad. However, it did give me time to look around the small waiting room. The place, including the waiting room, wasn't as clean as I would have liked. It just looked like it needed a thorough cleaning. The price is cheaper than most for a Brazilian wax. I usually go to European Wax Center but I was in a jam & the only one here is in Bellevue. I'm not sure if it's the wax or technique or cleanliness but a few days after, I had severe redness, irritation and a lot of ingrown hairs. I've never had a waxing like this and I've been waxing for over 20 years. There was another review about similar complaints. I won't be going again. It's a shame because the waxer was nice but it just wasn't worth it. read more

I have been a monthly regular here for nearly a decade (!) and after multiple moves around the city, I still commute to the hill for my appointments - it is that good! Ileah is personally wonderful, as well as an excellent aesthetician. The COVID-19 business regulations are strictly enforced here as well. The space, which was always clean, is hyper clean. There is also a lot of lag time between appointments, which results in never interacting with other clientele even in passing. Love this local spot! read more

I had a such a pleasant experience when I came in for my wax! This was my first time here so I had walked completely past the studio but Ileah was waiting for me at the door and caught me before I went too far. Ileah made me feel right at home and we talked about everything under the sun while she was completing my wax. I was impressed with how quickly she worked and she was finished within the allotted time frame that was quoted on their website. Sanitization is not a worry for this place! Could I give negative stars? I had an appointment yesterday and they had to cancel unexpectedly, so I was in a bind. I booked this morning online, and it said I was fine and confirmed for 11:20 today. Went to the shop.....door closed, lights off, no one there. If you try to call their phone, you have to wait through the longest message ever to leave your message. What is the point of using reservation booking technology if you're not going to make sure to not accept appointments during your posted business hours? Who just closes their shop with no notices or anything? And you don't even log in or set up notifications to see that your reservation system has booked someone to at least call them to explain? And the really long message even spent half the time encouraging people to go to the site and reserve online, so it is not like I found the link deep on their site. I took my lunch break to do this, so I wasted my lunch, paid for parking, and won't be able to get my legs waxed for my plans (it is my birthday today and I am flying out of town tonight). I literally couldn't be more unhappy with Waxing Moon and cannot encourage you enough to NOT book with them, unless you like wasting your time. read more

Hello! If I could give a negative star I definitely would.... Tried calling to confirm my online booking for 2 hrs straight. No one picked up or emailed back. I tried leaving a voice mail but the voicemail was 1min long and I was trying to get ahold of someone ANYONE so I kept calling hanging up calling OVER AND OVER AGAIN! Lleah finally called me back 3hrs later and right off the bat said I still have to pay because I missed my appointment. I asked her why no one picked up the phone for two hrs and she said she was busy. She kept talking over me and definitely doesn't know the term Customer is always right. She was crude and acted like a complete prude the whole argument when I was simply trying to ask her why. At the end of the conversation lol... she said her manager will be sending me a voucher. Okay, so clearly I don't go flashing my hoo haa off to just anyone. I wear shonies and am completely able to disembark from a boat or get out of an SUV without flashing my noni. Which, in part, is why I have followed Rebekah from not one but TWO different establishments to this - the third. I am so excited that she has her own fantastic joint now. It is super clean and calming and I absolutely love her new space. Not only is Rebekah raucously hilarious and amazingly distracting but she uses the best products and is, without fail, the only person that will ever be granted access to my nether hairs with the sole intent of ripping them out while soothing me and, quite possibly, making me giggle. Yes. Giggle. DURING a Brazilian. Oh yeah. I said that. She is fast, extremely thorough and well, she's gorgeous and witty and animated. Those last bits lend to the 'amazingly distracting' part... Oh and the other bitching thing about Rebekah is that she was super helpful when I had questions about follow up care and how to prevent those tiny annoying speed bumps for fun...yes, ingrown hairs. I've been a somewhat regular client of High Maintenance Skincare on Capitol Hill for years. I recently decided to give Waxing Moon a try because it's cheaper ($50 versus $65 for a Brazilian) and closer to my house. Haha, you can certainly see where the extra money goes. When I arrived, I tried dialing their buzzer multiple times and no one answered, but I was able to slip into the building in while a guy was exiting a different suite. There was no one in the waiting room, so I filled out their form and waited for the aesthetician to come out. When I met her, she was a different person filling in for the aesthetician I had made an appointment with on the website. She turned over the room in about 15 seconds. As others have mentioned, the trash was visibly full of previous business. I'm used to the calm, spa-like setting of High Maintenance, and this felt more like an assembly line. The service was speedy and the no-nonsense attitude bordered on gruffness; it was over in less than 10 minutes. There was no tweezing of stray hairs. According to Waxing Moon, their "main objective is to provide quick. clean and affordable services while using quality products in a down to earth comfortable setting." Well, it's definitely fast, and it's easy to book with zero notice, and I guess the setting is down to earth in that they decorated it without attempting to conceal the nail holes left by the previous tenants. But for me, all of that doesn't exactly add up to "comfortable." I probably won't be back. Now if you'll excuse me, I have some tweezing to do. read more

Last month, I wanted to get back into brazilians and after having my second one done yesterday, here are my thoughts on Waxing Moon Spa... 1) Booking your appointment online can be a bit tricky due to creating a profile (?), but nonetheless I did it and booked just fine. After reading reviews online, I wanted to see Rebekah but she wasn't on the booking schedule for the time I needed. I reached out and emailed Waxing Moon Spa and Rebekah kindly got back to me advising me to book with Ileah as she would be out of town for Christmas. 2) After booking, I received too many emails that were overkill. One to confirm my registration, a reminder of the appoint, another reminder of the appointment the day before and a terse cancellation warning email. Bookings online are set every 15 minutes, which is hard for even the best waxer to accommodate for anything beyond brows/lip/chin! 3) My appointment was at night and it was pouring and dark out. The front entry door was hard to locate and navigate amidst the detailed location instructions. Once I found Waxing Moon Spa, I rushed to get in as they stressed folks needed to be on time, only to let myself in with no one visible at the counter and waited about 10 minutes while another service was being performed. Limited décor and the ambiance is super basic. 4) When Ileah came, she brought me into the room and waited inside as I undressed and propped myself onto the table. I wish I could have had a moment to relax and get myself together in privacy. As this was my first brazilian in a very long time, she treated me to a candy cane to alleviate the pain, which was super nice! Conversation was pleasant and she was extremely detailed. She waxed me very thoroughly and plucked all missing hairs that were missed. The day after my service, I got an email from Waxing Moon Spa thanking me for my service and inquired if anything could have made the experience better. Recommendations: As communicated in my reply back after my service, to make a more relaxing service, appointments should be made less frequently so customers don't feel rushed and others aren't waiting, especially given the warning "if you're late email." The booking site should be more streamlined with only one confirmation appointment to remind the customer. The cancellation email was curt and should be stated in a more customer-centric way. Overall: For $50, the end result was great and my service lasted! read more

Oh. My. God. Rebekkah is a GENIUS and a GODSEND. I was really nervous about my appointment as it was my first time getting waxed, and because well, the thought of hot wax and ripping hair from my girly parts... *shudder*. Her prices are what you'd expect for a bikini wax in the city, which is about $30. The extended bikini wax is $40, and a Brazilian is $50. She's chatty, very friendly, and quick and efficient (which you definitely want in your bikini waxer). Most importantly, SHE KNOWS WHAT SHE'S DOING. A word of caution however. Like most other reviewers have mentioned, she is a one woman show. Which means there probably won't be anyone at the receptionist desk to greet you when you get there-- grab a magazine, and catch up on Hollywood gossip. This also means that more than likely, she'll be running a little behind. Just be patient. Trust me, the results are worth it read more

This really IS as good as it gets as far as a waxing experience goes! Rebekka is incredibly quick and doesn't miss a thing! She's friendly, no nonsense - and by that I mean she doesn't bother with the spa frill that adds nothing to the experience except for time. Aromatherapy may relax me for a minute but then reality sets in. I will say this- I don't know why but this was the LEAST painful experience I've ever had. When I she was finished I didn't believe her- Don't go here for an Aveda experience. Go here because she's fast and great at what she does. Don't go looking for a spa(aaahhh) experience. Go here because you want to get in and out and not pay an arm and a leg for excellence! I will totally go back and have already sent all of my friends to her! *Tips: Read the directions carefully. I recently moved to the area and turned to Yelp to help me find a good waxing spa. Waxing Moon came highly recommended and I scheduled an appointment for several services. I booked online which was fast and convenient. You have to pay for street parking. As I was driving to the appointment I received a call from the girl saying she was running late which was absolutely not a problem with me because it was morning and I was not in a rush. She was heating up her wax as I came in. The girl was very chatty and friendly. She told me to drop 'em an hop on the table. The waxing was a lot more painful than I experienced before with no pressure added to areas after each tear. We talked about how I had a strip undone at another spa I had used and that it was important to get a good wax all over my legs. The redness or pain afterwards was minimal and I was happy until that evening when I was getting ready to shower. My hair is fair and not too visible but when the light hit it right, I saw a long strip of hair left on the side of my thigh. Aaargg not again!!! Whatever,I thought,, no big deal it's minor. However when not even 5 days later all my hair began to grow back I realize that most of my hair follicles were broken and not removed at the root. I was soooo bummed since I spent over $120 on combined services before tip. Maybe it was the wax that wasn't hot enough...I don't know. I will not return and I would not recommend this place. The girl did try to make the session as pleasant and comfortable as she could but the service was extremely unsatisfactory in my experience. read more

Rebekah has it all folks. I'm not adding to anything that people haven't already said, but when you find someone this good its hard not to share your experience. First off, the price. This is an excellent value. If you are like me, and have had to take a hiatus from keeping your lady bits properly groomed due to finances, the Brazilian package is where to start. The regular visits certainly help with the pain. And then you're like, "Thank God I'm getting waxed tomorrow! It's a jungle down there..." Second, Rebekah is passionate about her business and providing everyone with a great experience. She's a one woman show, which sometimes calls for scheduling flexibility, but you are building a relationship with her. She takes care of you. Whatever day I'm having, I always leave feeling better than when I walked in. And finally, She is a perfectionist with her work. She wants that landing strip to look as good as you do! So fast, efficient, and as (relatively) painless as a Brazilian wax can be. The entire process was professional, thorough, and not at all awkward. I actually laughed during my service, can you believe that? This is also probably one of the more affordable waxing spas in town. $50 for a Brazilian and they offer a 4 waxes for $160 deal so you can maintain your smoothness for a discount! The space is small and a bit spare, just a waiting area and the waxing room through another door (the soft sky blue ceiling is peaceful to look at during your wax). All they do is waxes here so you know they are committed to giving you a great service. Waxing Moon is located above The Sweatbox next to Moe Bar and you definitely wouldn't saunter in if you didn't already know it was there. My time spent with Rebekka was good. This was my first bikini wax and she was very friendly, chatty, and down-to-earth. She made it a comfortable and fun experience, which is good since there are a lot of ways to make this kind of appointment uncomfortable. That said, I was not very happy with the results. I could not tell in the lighting in the waxing room, but once I got home I could see that she missed a lot of hair in some places, and took off way too much in another which resulted in an uneven bikini line. Maybe it was just an off day for her, but since waxes aren't cheap, the results were a little disappointing. Also, I called a twice (with about an hour between calls) prior to my appointment to ask a scheduling question, and she did not answer the phone. I figured she was probably with a client and would call back, but no such luck. Points off for that. She also charges 1.4% if you use a credit card. I was not notified of this policy when I paid, even after asking if she accepts credit cards (most places tell you if they add a charge). She does outline this policy in the schedule confirmation email, but since I had told her I hadn't received that email at the time of the appointment I would have appreciated her telling me about that before I paid. Overall, I would recommend Waxing Moon Spa for a first-timer because Rebekkah is not scary or impersonal. However, I'm not entirely sure I'll be back. (Though after writing a less-than-shining review, it might not be wise to return and risk having an angry professional pour hot wax on my lady bits...) read more

God, getting waxed is never fun. It's right up there with going to the DMV. You don't want to do it, but you have to in order to keep doing what you're doing. However, Rebekah is awesome! She is quick, thorough, cheap, hilarious and professional. I'm not really sure you could ask for much more. She didn't even chastise me for having a patch of too short hairs! Nice! Awesome local girl from Hilo with her bangin attitude, quick hands, and cheap prices! She's always so damn busy, which explains a new employee added to the Waxing Moon Family. Hope the newbie can live up to Rebekkah's talent! A few times, I've gone where Rebekkah's appointments were a little behind, and she didn't get down to business on me until 10 minutes later. If you're honestly planning your day minute by minute, I think we have a bigger problem. The best part of it all, was that she satisfied everyone in her waiting room. Just a little delayed...probably an off day. Her studio is situated within walking distance of where I reside (Hello, Cap Hill Residents!). Parking can be difficult, and this isn't a problem if your a cap hiller. I recommend that you book in advance advance, this girl is super good, so that means... she's gonna be super busy! She also has these pre pay plans that save a considerable amount of money. You just have to pay for the sessions at once to save. Oh, as of recently, I believe there is a surcharge to using credit/debit cards. Cash is your best bet. read more

I have to say Rebekkah is heaven sent. This is the second place l have been too but the only place l have had a real brazilian and honestly the most peaceful process doing so. Rebekkah is efficient, very open. The whole awkwardness is Over the moment you know your in great hands. I in particular have anxiety laying in this position and someone in between your legs only because of my cultural up brining. Rebekkah hands down made me feel safe. Love the online booking, ease of finding the place (the instructions they give you via email are VERY clear, as otherwise it might be a little confusing without a standard storefront). Very efficient and FAST waxing. I only took off a star because they were obviously redecorating and it was very cluttered when you entered (not relaxing) and I was there during a summer heat wave and their AC just couldn't keep up. I'm sure now, it's fine, and their AC is probably up to the task the rest of the year! I will certainly be back. == EDIT == I went back for a maintenance Brazilian...and was rather disappointed, as there was a high amount of breakage and therefore, fast regrowth. We had to hurry as the appointment length for maintenance is only 15 minutes, and I think if you have enough time, waxing moon does great. But if you've only got 15 minutes and something goes wrong with your hair, or the wax temperature, or anything...there's just no good way to fix it. I got frustrated with the quality of the wax job, and two weeks later went to Wax On to get everything cleaned up. read more

I found the studio no problem and was able to get in to my appointment right on time. Ileah is awesome! I walked in and Ileah was right there waiting for me and escorted me to the service room 1 more star for cleanliness and ambiance. The room was nicely lit and clean. Rebekah is amazing. She is honest, quick and knows her stuff! She really is a professional. She can look at your skin and determine what is going to give you the best results. She asks questions and lets you know upfront that you are free to let her know you need a break. I have a high tolerance for pain, but waxing is not fun. I've been going here regularly for over 18 months. I don't love it but I don't really have other legitimate options close by. The person who does the waxing is often high & the business smells like weed, which makes for a painfully slow wax job. But when she's (occasionally) not high, the wax is great and fast. It's not super expensive considering the Seattle market but it's definitely overpriced for the value. Entering the business is quite a chore as it requires a key code that is often changing and not always updated it in the email they send to you prior to your appointment. The "spa" is very bare-bones once you come inside. The one employee I've interacted with over these past two years is always upset and complaining about something or the other, so just brace for that. I just wish that Seattle would get with the program and open a EuroWax or some other chain for consistency. read more

She was actually eating a burrito when I got there. Haha, that definitely broke the ice. Rebekah was just as casual, but professional as any I've seen. I'd never had one before, but it took very little time, wasn't hardly painful, and I was laughing at numerous points. I actually ended up getting the Sweetheart and she loved it as much as I did. We traded stories, relationship statuses, and even made fun of Jersey Shore together. It was like we were old friends, just hanging out and having a good time.
