Since youth I have been struggling with acne and a greasy, yet dry face. I had seen the Iderm Deep Ionizing Facial Treatment before online and decided to give it a try at Dermaspace. Making the appointment through Vagaro was easy, walked me through a thorough intake form, and allowed me to choose my esthetician. I went with Allegra who was a darling from the minute I stepped into Dermaspace. Any worries or fears quickly drifted off given the dim lighting, chill music and zen ambiance. Allegra had a sweet personality, explained the entire process from start to finish, was knowledgeable about anything related to skincare and health, and most importantly, gentle. The facial was around an hour and fifteen minutes, including a discussion of my skin concerns, allergies, goals, etc. It consisted of roughly four total steps: 1) Gentle facial cleansing and exfoliation 2) Moisturization and detoxification using yucca soaked cloth within a volcanic heated cone 3) Deep cleaning of my entire face, clearing out any and all clogged pores 4) Ionization facial wrap of nourishing cotton with a leather mask connected to low voltage electrical current in order to ionize the solution. Afterwards, my face felt completely refreshed and as if years were taken off. I went for my acne issue they never got my prescription. They asked me to go to my ppc or gynaecologist.

Effective for acne! I started having maskne after Covid with a lot of hyperpigmentation/scarring. Coming here was the best decision I made for my skin. The hyperpigmentation is significantly reduced and I rarely get acne now. This isn't a one time miracle treatment. I've been coming here for almost a year on a monthly basis and it took around 4 sessions before I noticed a significant change. It's also not your typical facial spa experience. It's relaxing where I can fall asleep but don't expect massages. They are upfront about this on their website. read more

I always wanted to try Dermaspace since I live in downtown and I found them on Yelp. My treatment was Revitapen-Iderm Facial Treatment. I am huge skincare fan and I have derma pen and darsonval at home and I use it on regular basis so for me Electrotheraphy isn't something new. It was more kind of experience to compare the results. Treatment started from cleansing and exfoliation. Then she soaked my skin in a yucca root solution and left me for about 15 minutes alone in the room. Then she used derma pen and then she prepared everything for electrotherapy and left me for another 15 minutes. Personally to me 30 minutes out of 1 hour treatment (also minus changing time) seems too much. I have been in many spas in Europe and USA and i never experienced that. Also back gets very very wet on that mat that they put and leave you to lie down for 15 minutes. At some point melting serum on face was unpleasant and I really wanted her to come back sooner. After treatment I remember when I went to register to pay after changing I discovered that I was very sticky she didn't washed my face and neck very well I guess since room is so dark and I was required to put my mask back on upon exiting. Its good that I went straight home after that because it looked very messy. They recommend to do this treatment once a month for the consistency and better results but I have good skin overall I dont think this treatment is something different that I do at home. It was nice experience overall and if you have any skin concerns maybe I would recommend it but price-wise its also not cheap considering all this time alone and also tips and parking in downtown. (I am lucky I live few blocks away so I walk lol) PS they still do require covid tests or covid vaccine which I find very strange since isn't mandatory anymore but some businesses do. Not sure about mask in the office. I've always had small breakouts here and there, but over the past 2 years my skin has become more acne prone not less it seems. I developed adult cystic hormonal acne, and it was not only embarrassing but expensive because I was constantly trying new things, any thing, to make it better. Nothing was working. I actually saw another girl post her transition photos on here, and thought well if that's real then maybe I should give this a try. I have nothing to lose at this point. I'm SO glad I did. Olivia has saved my skin, and on top of that she's become a friend. I really like this spa! I was a customer here all of summer 2022. They offer great services and frequent discounts and promotions. I just personally did not love the modality for the acne facial, the infrared dome. Your face is wrapped in moistened yuca leaves as a current passes over your skin for 20ish minutes. It helps with acne and inflammation and is effective. My preference is more of a spa facial with various cleansers, scrubs/exfoliants, and moisturizers to treat the skin gently. The electro current felt a bit harsh on my skin and the thought of doing it again was unappealing simply because I did not like the sensation. Although, the estheticians are really cool and nice. They will chat if you want or give you peace and quiet if you prefer. You will leave feeling relaxed and like you got out of it what you wanted. Side note, I would not recommend biking here. There is a bike rack outside of the building, but locking an e-bike on a public rack in downtown Seattle is frankly not a risk I am willing to take anymore (I've already had one stolen). After I explained this to them, the staff at Dermaspace graciously allowed me to bring my e-bike into the office suite to store it safely while at my appointments, which I always appreciated. read more

September was a month of self-care for me and so I decided to book a facial since it had been years since my last one. I rarely get facials (I'd rather do massages if it came between the two) and so I've never had a facial like the one I received at Dermaspace. Megan was my esthetician and was so pleasant to talk with. She explained everything she was doing, offered to check in on me during periods of "waiting", and was an overall joy to have do my facial. She told me I had maybe 1-2 extractions that were needed but overall my pores were small and well maintained. If I come here again I'd get the facial without the extraction portion. Only thing that is holding me back on coming again is I think I'd enjoy more facial massaging (like typical facials)...but again I rarely get facials in the first place. I highly recommend Cora! She is super nice and friendly, and is really willing to do her best to help you fix your skin. I really liked how she didn't go harsh on my skin when extracting, so my skin is not left with scars. I have tried EVERYTHING and spent A LOT on products and other facials. I've been dealing with acne around my chin and cheek which I felt very insecure about. Revitapen facial here really worked on my skin giving long term results. If you are struggling with everlasting hormonal cystic acne that seems to not go away forever, just try this place. I know it could be pricey for most of people but just try this about 5 times as a last resort. In the beginning, I only tried their Iderm facial because it was the cheapest option, but when I started adding Revitapen to my facial, I actually started seeing changed in my skin texture and acne appearance. If you don't need extraction, you could always go for Wrap&Zap with added Revitapen to lower the cost. Unlike other places, this place doesn't push you to buy their products! Nowadays, my friend asks if I have a make up on even when I don't. My skin is not perfect, but is SO much better now. Would rate my experience 3.5 if I could. Everyone was nice, they were very accommodating to me being a bit late due to car crash traffic which I greatly appreciated. However, they mentioned doing some things in the treatment that would help my skin, and I didn't realize they were not part of the standard treatment. There was no mention of these being extra, and therefore costing extra. I went in expecting to pay $100 (there was a promo) and got surprised with $45 more. Just had another great facial at Dermaspace! From the moment I walk in the door to the time I leave, I'm in heaven. The folks at Dermaspace are pros; they know every skin type and problem under the sun. I have combination skin with wrinkles and breakouts and my skin and pores get thoroughly cleansed and balanced. One thing I really like is they don't overly moisturize my skin by piling on a ton of creams, serums and lotions; they apply only the right ingredients and treatments best suited for my skin type. I had an Iderm facial with Olivia 2 weeks ago and it was amazing! She has a warm and calming energy and immediately put me at ease. It was my first facial and she really took the time to explain the process step by step. My skin was glowing when I left and it really helped with some of the small bumps/texture I had on my cheeks. I'm experiencing a small amount of purging on my chin (my typical problem area) now, but that's to be expected and means it's working to clear the impurities from underneath the skin. Highly recommend the iderm facial. I've struggled with acne, unevenness, large pores, and texture since I was 12. I have mild rosacea and tend to be oily/combination. But this past year my skin has been the worst it's ever been. I came in very red and congested. Throughout the whole process Cora talked everything out with me and gave me recommendations and insight into why my skin might be acting up. She helped me understand why the products I'm using aren't the most beneficial for my skin at this moment and let me know which skincare products of theirs she recommend I use. She wasn't pushy at all, but because of her genuineness and amazing bedside manner I trusted her completely and decided to purchase everything. I never thought I would be able to go more than a few days without using a product without salicylic acid, but here I am 3 days later and my skin has improved and I'm not caving and going back to my regular products. I'm less red and my complexion is a lot clearer. I definitely have a long way to go and my skin still has issues, but I'm very confident that if I keep up with this I'll see tremendous improvement. I want to reiterate this isn't one of those relaxing facials that leave you feeling rejuvenated, it IS truly like going to the gym. I felt good, but also worn out after. My face was a little red and I felt anxious from being in the heating dome, then the mask during the galvanic current process, and then being under the LED light therapy. If you are claustrophobic I definitely recommend to talk things out with your esthetician beforehand! I'm not, but at the end I was questioning whether I was... Wow- I searched a skin care solution on Yelp ~ and hit a winner! Jody is AMAZING! I initially searched out a place I could preemptively start my anti-aging skin care routine. I booked the introduction facial, as recommended on the website, and came ready with tons of questions on how to care for aging skin. From the start, the visit went well. I called the office about an hour before my visit, asking joe to access the floor. The receptionist/front desk gentleman was patient, polite, and extremely helpful. When I met Jody at the appointment- he was extremely outgoing, social, and made me feel completely at ease. The procedure: Jody asked many questions to gain a good understanding of my skin care concerns. He tailored my visit around this discussion and even sent me home with a great serum to help with after visit care . I am very happy with my experience at Dermaspace. I went in for the Iderm Facial with Chanté to address my mild acne concerns. If you are new to this kind of facial, beware that it is not a relaxing experience. It is meant to address real skin issues, which isn't always going to be pretty and comfortable. That being said, the office is very welcoming and clean and Chanté is so sweet and knowledgable. I have had a facial with both the owner Jody and Chanté and I would say that you would receive the same service from them both! Both are very professional and caring. Now about the service itself. My acne is mostly closed comedones (small skin colored bumps that occasionally turn into painful red bumps). Chanté did some serious work extracting them. My face was MUCH more red and blotchy leaving than it was when I got there, obviously, from the extractions. It is now 24 hours post-facial and my face is much less red but I think it will take a couple weeks for the numerous hyper-pigmented extraction spots to go away. This is not ideal but its the truth and don't let this scare you off if you know you need extractions. Chanté was very skilled at removing them (way better than you'd be doing it yourself at home), none of them became inflamed or bled, and my forehead is smoother than it has been in months! We followed up with 30 minutes of light therapy which was new for me, but I'm excited to do it again! read more

Getting a facial here is distinctively different from getting it from other spas. Dermaspace focuses more on vitalizing your skin deep down from the inside out. There's no facial massages or non-sense touchy-feely activities just to make you feel good only on the outside. Jody (the owner) has great, friendly personality, and you won't feel judged on how you look with a bare face or how horrible your true skin conditions are (and I'm a great testament to that! :D Apparently, he has been doing this since his time in LA (and is the only one certified to do this facial procedure in WA) and he's had many Hollywood stars as his clients as well. For a facial, Jody will first clean and then apply a special solution to your face. He then will immerse your face under a heated leather dome for 15 min. After that, he would manually extract all those whiteheads/zits from your face. Once the face is extracted, Jody then conditions your face with vitamin c and zinc phosphate (help with killing bacteria/reduce acnes) and apply electriticity to help push these nutrients deep into your skin. The session finishes off with a refreshing splash of toner and a gentle backrub. If you love facials, definitely check Dermaspace out. I have had a number of facials in the US...and the one Jody offers is definitely distinctively differrent (in a very cool way). Jodie also carries his own product lines as well, so you can also check it out. Looks like their weekend appointment gets booked up quite fast. The customer service was good but the facial left me with a visible scar on my chin. This happened after I received one PCA peel and one diamond microdermabrasion a few months ago. Wow. I've had so many facials before but nothing like this. I went in to see Trevor and I am blown away with my results two days post treatment. Cora had let me know about a special they were running earlier but without thinking, I pulled out a coupon at the front desk to use with my payment. The guy took it and didn't say anything about how the coupon couldn't be used with the special, or that there even was a special in the first place. I didn't realize until after a few mins after I'd already paid; and of course, he couldn't do a price adjustment at that point. Probably shame on me for spacing out in the first place and not doing the mental math. But something about the interaction (the fact he didn't mention that there was a special running, or that I couldn't use my coupon with it - and that he had no intention of telling me since I'd left and then came back to ask) makes me think twice about coming back to soso much money here. I did work at the salon/spa, so the poor experience could be do to the casualness of the experience. Either way, I didn't leave too motivated to go back. I went to Dermaspace regularly for a good two years and have not experienced better skin treatment anywhere else. Chanté and Jody are among the warmest, funniest aestheticians out there and I enjoyed every moment of letting them (quite literally) zap the crap out of my face. All of the staff here are very skilled at what they do and also very accommodating. Although I have moved out of Seattle for good, I'll definitely pop back over for a treatment and some good conversation if I ever visit. Being a skincare skeptic and someone who just doesn't put that much effort into their skincare regime because from my experience, nothing really changes or if it does it's only for a brief moment, I can honestly say that Dermaspace is different. Every facial I've had in the past has made my face feel more moisturized (I have dry skin) and it's extra glowy and it's always nice to be pampered but that only last's for an evening or two. Then three day's later, "hello dull skin me". I work in healthcare and this year due to the pandemic I am in a mask 10, 12 hours a day. That in addition to stress, not sleeping adequately and eating too many processed foods has take a toll on me and my skin and it shows. I also happened to turn 40 this year. My lovely husband could see my despair and got me a gift card for my birthday for a Iderm Facial Treatment (I threw in the LED Light Therapy cause I live in Seattle could use as much light as I can possibly get). I went in not really knowing what to expect. From the video's I watched and from what I read online it sounded like something out of Death Becomes Her, which is actually pretty awesome but also somewhat frightening. Frightening it was not. Cora was the Esthetician who gave me my facial last Saturday and I cannot thank her enough for what a wonderful job she did. She was incredibly knowledgeable and so very warm and kind. Just her presence put's you at ease. But it was an all around wonderful experience but the true magic is what this facial did and continues to do to my face. I had my facial at 10 a.m. it lasted an hour and a half, immediately after I had red spots on my face due to the extractions and it was slightly irritated but just a few hours later the irritation had disappeared. I still had a few red spots and pimple spots from before but my skin already looked noticeably changed. I couldn't quite pinpoint what but it definitely looked different. The next morning however was different. I woke up and immediately ran into the bathroom, it has the best natural light in my apartment. When I had a look I was actually quite surprised. I looked healthier. My skin looked healthier. It didn't look like I had slept just 4 hours the night before and it was like I had been on a vegetable cleanse for weeks and not on a carb binge again consisting of boxed macaroni and cheese, chips and bread. Here we are Tuesday night and my skin has continued to look brighter and healthier I am still amazed that this was all because of one facial. read more

For $200 and tip plus paying for parking I had my face cleansed, used enzyme mask, some wrap (guys esthetician left for 10 minutes), extractions, galvanic wrap- I didn't feel a thing (left alone for 15 minutes), LED lights (left for 30 minutes). Regular not warm bed, never touched decollete, zero massage, and at the only sunscreen was used. Are you kidding me? Hydrafacial is better not to mention medical spas with such a good medical products skin is getting better with every appointment. Place is clean but I don't buy this marketing slogan face gym, and we increase galvanic current with each time, you should come every 2-3 weeks. LOL read more

But alas we live across the country and, despite my repeated urging he open in my then home of Washingon, DC, I haven't had a chance to actually get his signature treatment.
