For $200 and tip plus paying for parking I had my face cleansed, used enzyme mask, some wrap (guys esthetician left for 10 minutes), extractions, galvanic wrap- I didn't feel a thing (left alone for 15 minutes), LED lights (left for 30 minutes). Regular not warm bed, never touched decollete, zero massage, and at the only sunscreen was used. Are you kidding me? Hydrafacial is better not to mention medical spas with such a good medical products skin is getting better with every appointment. Dermaspace has been a MIRACLE for my skin! MIRACLE!!! I started out with moderate-severe acne + acne scars + inflamed skin + clogged pores + everything else you can think of that could go wrong with your skin. Who knew Seattle would bring out the BDSM in me?! Yet, at the same time, it's not completely a surprise given that the city is part of the liberal West Coast belt. While I have always been open-minded, I never envisioned myself appearing as a character in a trailer of 50 Shades of Grey or Silence of the Lambs...until now. As it is said over and over, "Beauty hurts." I had heard of the Iderm Deep Ionizing Facial Treatment, but was always a bit terrified given the pictures of the therapy process. After dealing with a childhood of acne, many years of recurrent blackheads, and more recently greasy face, I finally took the plunge and set up my appointment online for this fear factor facial. I reminded myself of the great results, positive reviews, and the fact that if picky, weak-hearted celebrities do it, I could too! From the minute I stepped into Dermaspace's studio, the zen decor and colors calmed my nerves and I found myself within an urban oasis. Once I met my esthetician Chanté, I no longer had any fears or inhibitions. Heck, she could do what she wanted to me given her sweet demeanor and personality. OK, let's focus on the treatment, not it's appearance or preconceived thoughts (unlike my naiveté). The facial takes roughly an hour to hour and a half, and consists of four steps, each re-titled by yours truly: Step 1 - Preparation (aka, Pre-gaming): Chanté gently cleansed and exfoliated my face while carrying on friendly conversation discussing my skin problems and type, allergy history and any other concerns or questions. I'm not the girl that typically gets facials. I don't have a lot of experience with them but when the opportunity to get one from Chante at Dermaspace, I jumped in. This isn't your typical facial; it was still totally had elements of a traditional spa treatment but the ultimate goal is purifying your skin and that takes work. It isn't a pain-free experience because of the extraction process but Chante has soft hands and made the experience more pleasant than it otherwise would have been. Chante is absolutely skilled in doing what she does - from the moment I met her, she was sweet, entertaining and humorous. My boyfriend wanted to watch, out of curiosity -- knowing that this was different than a typical facial and the curious hannibal type masks -- she humored us and let him -- and he left wanting to get one of his own. The attention to detail at Dermaspace is great. We felt welcomed right away by both Chante and Jody. Chante really took the time to explain everything. I get nervous when I can't see what's going on and I was relieved by not having to worry about that. My skin is softer than it has ever been and my pores are finally not filled with junk! One thing I also really value is that I learned a lot during my appointment. I didn't realize I was missing some key elements to my facial regime that are vital in keeping down the oils. I can't say enough about Jody Leon, aka "The Extractor," aka "Provider of the Best Facial in Western Washington" (even if Gene Juarez and their stacked deck tipped the official poll.) A lot of times when you receive a facial, the skin specialist will be mildly invested in the method of treatment, but Jody is not an every-day skin specialist. He is truly committed to the Iderm Facial Treatment. Beyond his passion and expertise, he's a pleasure to chat with. What I appreciate about Iderm is that it's not simply aromatherapy or surface exfoliation or moisturization. It's a grown-up corrective skin treatment, and it requires some time to work properly, but it does work. Even though I haven't seen a 180-degree turnaround in my skin's texture, I have seen immediate, actual results from each of my sessions. That's still big for me. I came in yesterday for my first facial. I think I just adopted Jody, he's my new favorite person. Jody calls his treatment "the skin gym" and he isn't playing. This is not your grandma's facial. Hands down, best facial I've ever gotten. I have sensitive, blemish-prone skin and hate facials that only involve slathering and massaging my face with cream after cream. I always end up walking out looking like I've been basted with cooking oil. This treatment is strange and definitely not cheap, no doubt, but the results speak for themselves. Note: I definitely don't recommend it for folks with claustrophobia, as the heat cone thing will send you spiraling. I've used so many skin care products from high-end to low-end brands, from different countries, including some extreme medications like Retin-A, but nothing seemed to work until I had my first treatment with Jody. I've had a lot of pimples but just after one 1-hour treatment the pimples were all gone, leaving my skin a soft, fresh feeling. He is a professional and knows what he's doing. The way he performed various steps was very professional, I cannot stress this enough. I was a little bit skeptical when I saw his video on the website, but trust me, it's worth every single penny. The magnificent Jody makes clean, clear, and glowing skin possible! In recent weeks, I had been experiencing dry skin that created break outs on my cheeks. It was driving me crazy! I figured since I had this great Bloomspot deal (how I found Dermaspace), I would book an appointment. When I called, there was an appointment for the next day! Perfect! I book my appointment with Jeff and came in the next day. I was given a quick questionnaire about my skin and off I went into the facial. Let me tell you, it is not like any facial you have ever had! Jody does a great job explaining how the process works and what makes the Dermaspace process different from other facials. The process includes a heat dome and mask. It's a little claustrophobic at first but after some time, it feels good and you start to relax. After the heat dome, Jody extracts your face (gets the icky stuff out). Jody did a great job of checking in during each step of the process and making sure I was comfortable, which was greatly appreciated! I left with a slightly red face, which Jody said was expected. While Jody said I would notice a slight difference after the day's session, he said a few sessions were recommended to see a full difference. I have to admit I saw a HUGE difference after the one session. My face was soft, that dry skin left (along with those break outs), and I was glowing on day four! Love this place . Chante is my girl and I look forward to my session every month . I have an oily acne prone skin and the service helps me clear up the acne . For me personally even the place and person I deal with matter a lot and I connect with both here so it's like a double bonanza . I have tried few of their products too and it's amazing .
