Le french 9&Co's French Fries are tied for #2/3 for my Fav Fries in the Mile Hi region (=Western slope from Ft Collins to Colorado Springs) They are cut to within the correct thick/thinness, with just a little visible bit of the skin left on; fried to be crispy on outside to be done but still soft & just the correct level of slight chewyness on inside without being or tasting greasy. The saltiness as presented at the table was perfect, without any need for additional salt to be at the table. considering what I have enjoyed since I moved back since Oct 2021. The Caesar salad was excellent with anchovies and an interesting twist - grapes where you'd normally expect banana peppers. I stopped into Le French again recently when my kids were at The Immersive Game Box across the street. I considered this a bit of a parenting hack as I enjoyed my lunch. I got the kiddos all set up with the staff at IGB for gaming, and once everything was rolling, I ducked into Le French for Le Lunch. At that time of the day, the bar was quiet, but the service was, as it is in the dining room, excellent. I enjoy their take on clean modern French food with some subtle African influences. My particular favourites are: Mussels, Nicoise Salad, and the way they excel at desserts. In all honesty, they might be the best dessert makers of all the French restaurants in Denver. Beautifully decorated space with reservation online. Great service from Annalise (sp?), she provided tasty recommendations and came by for refills as we need them. The food was delicious and nicely presented. It does feel pricy for the amount of food you get. This is also the first brunch place I saw with $4 price tag for an added fried egg, $7 for added avocado... Feels a little steep. I've been seeing advertisements for this place and I love everything French. Inside and outside the establishment is very clean and modern. Even the sign. I ordered French onion soup, a sandwich called Half-Jambon-Buerre. Surprisingly the soup was kind of on the bland side and the sandwich tasted good. The menu though was very limited at the timeframe i went in. Before 5pm. Also a let down was the server took my order but never returned to see if everything was alright or if i wanted anything else. I had to literally get her attention to order additional items. Top it off the manager was like three seats down from me. Finally FYI they don't give military discounts. read more

A James Beard 2024 semifinalist for Best Chef Mountain Region, this restaurant is worth trying. The Chef blends her birthplace of Senegal, with Paris, where she lived as well as Colorado, using fresh local ingredients. On a recent visit, the chef had prepared a fresh salad - delicious. The grilled salmon with roasted carrots was exceptional. The carrots were dehydrated and bursting with flavors. The steak was a bit tough, still tasty, but very filling. The pannacotta with fresh peach coulis was good as well. Good wine selection. Good cocktails. Exceptional service. The inside is chic, comfortable and inviting. Well done. I tried Le French at 9+Co for the first time last night. Lovely service. We ordered the ESCARGOT to start and all the flavors build on the dish itself. No one ingredient overpowers any other taste. You still have the earthiness of the eacargot and the herbs. I personally am not a fan of places that cook their eacargot with cheese and this place does NOT do that. We got LINGUINES AUX CREVETTES and the MOULES FRITES for our entres. Both very nice flavors. Nothing too strong, as expected from French cuisine. The pasta was a heavy diah but with nice delicate flavors and the moules frites white wine sauce was phenomenal. Our waitress offered us more bread and we soaked it in the white wine sauce. All of these dishes stood well with a bottle of Chablis served to us with our own table-side Ice bucket. We switched to Kronenburg beer when we got an order of the MERGUEZ lamb sausages. A beautiful mix of textures with the dijon mustards sauce, green apple (though the menu said pear, maybe?) and the lemon vinaigrette tossed arugula. The acid in the vinaigrette neutralized the usual characteristic bitterness of the arugula. We ended the night with a shared creme brulee. My company stated it was very sweet and suggested I may not like it...but I think it was because he didn't want to share. Hahaha! It is a very lovley spot. He also loves that it is minority owned and female owned if I'm not mistaken? It's a nice ambience, a good menu, good bar selection and they take reservations! I came with a group of six and we were promptly seated for our reservation. There is a nice ambience and a pretty big bar, so I would imagine you could sit there without reservations. Our server, Sofia, was great and was very willing to give her opinion when asked which I appreciate. I ordered the brie small plate and it was delicious, but I would've liked more bread with it. I had the boeuf bourguignon as the main course, which was very good as well. A few of us got different desserts and the Pavlova was beautiful and tasty. The service here is wonderful! We came here for brunch on my sister's birthday on a weekday afternoon and the place was pretty empty. The menu for brunch was a bit underwhelming. The seasonal quiche I got was great but only the size of my palm. We got a charcuterie board to start with the table and it only had meats and pickled vegetables, no cheese! We came to Le French for our 7th Anniversary. The atmosphere was inviting with a great patio view (which we asked to be moved to, versus looking at the bar with people eating--where we first were seated). The booth was very comfortable and the restaurant was clean. Although there was nothing special done for our anniversary or even an acknowledgment, we still enjoyed our server Tricia, and most of the food we ordered. What stood out was if there was any questions regarding gluten-free or Celiac--the manager and Tricia would ask the chef to verify. We ended up ordering the POUTINE BOURGUIGNONNE: French Fries, Beef Short Rib, Red Wine, Gravy, Mushrooms, and Curd Cheese--which was so delicious! We also ordered the P.E.I Blue Mussels, Lemon, White Wine Butter-Garlic Sauce Marinière, and French Fries--unfortunately we were not big fans of the sauce. We had two mussels that tasted bad that we ended up spitting out and then not eating the rest of the muscles for fear of getting sick. The gluten-free bread (that was substituted--the first order came with baguettes, but I have celiac--which I mentioned when we first sat down, so the chef had to remake) had a lot of a yellow butter that was not very good. For our dessert we decided to order The CRÊPE SUZETTE (GF): Citrus Marmalade, Mascarpone Chantilly, Grand Marnier, Orange Supremes for our dessert--OMG!!! Great sophisticated but relaxing ambience, helpful staff. We got the brie and baobab jam with crisps and apple slices, intrigued by the baobab fruit which we had never had before. The dish was not worth the $18, however; the baobab was like an apricot jam, the Brie came with all surfaces covered by the white protective coating rather than being sliced so you got primarily the cheese, and the sliver of cheese was very small. The waitress kindly brought a few more slices of toasted bread since the four thin slices initially provided were clearly insufficient to sop up the rest of the appetizer. The tuna nicoise was excellent with a large piece of perfectly cooked tuna (rare and seared), though they left out the olives. The tarragon cream roast chicken with crimini mushrooms and slices of roast potatoes was outstanding; they appropriately warned us the chicken took 45 minutes to bake so put in the order while we puzzled out the rest of our order. We would return on a cold day just for that dish--perfect comfort food! We will continue to explore the menu and just recommend the above tweaks to the Brie and baobab appetizer. read more

As a party of 6 we were able to try much of the menu Food Highlights: Foie Gras - fantastic starter, complemented well with fig and balsamic Beef Tartare - perfectly seasoned, housemade chips were fantastic Brie and Baobab - ordered as I was interested in trying the Baobab, the only way that I can describe is not too sweet and not too sour...almost flavorless Tartare de Betterave - fascinating spice profile with beets in a unique presentation Chocolate Mousse - paired well with coffee-flavored ice cream Food lowlights: Steak Frites - The filet Mignon was had absolutely no flavor and was tough in texture. I really enjoyed our Easter brunch here. The atmosphere is very airy and cozy. I love the Senegalese influence in some dishes and would love to see more of it! We ordered the French onion soup and foie gras to start. The soup was delicious - very flavorful with melt-in-your-mouth onions, probably the best I've ever had. It's vegetarian too which surprised me due to the richness of the broth. The foie gras torchon came with a really complimentary fig sauce, and the French toast was great for dipping in it, but could definitely have used 2 more slices for the portion! I love rabbit so I ordered the Easter special, a confit rabbit Benedict piled high with braised beet greens, poached egg, and sauce malaise stop fluffy corn bread cakes. This was a very rich dish-great for a lean meat like rabbit. The sauce was so tangy and buttery! Perfectly poached eggs too. My fiancé went with the Senegalese fried chicken sandwich with Yassa sauce. Very juicy Dijon-brined chicken was fried nicely, served with a saucy lettuce mixture on a brioche bun and Yassa sauce. Comes with fries. It was very good! The Nutella crepe was absolutely stuffed with Nutella, maybe could use more berries on top. It was a really well made crepe, we left really satisfied. We went for a big dinner to celebrate a birthday last night. We had only been for a brunch shortly after the September opening so I had a chance to try a different take. Service was outstanding and our sweet server was top notch, excellent recommendations and accommodations for everyone and their taste. We enjoyed two starter plates with cheese and bread and more bread when we ran out!! Then entrees were done to perfection and everyone enjoyed their meals. A few orders of steak frites and a couple of mussels were enjoyed with a few orders of truffle fries. One had a savory crepe too. We sat in a secluded area and enjoyed conversation and an excellent meal. They accommodated our birthday cake and added an outstanding bowl of coffee ice cream. We've had the pleasure of dinning at Le French on 3 occasions. On this 3rd visit distinctive qualities surfaced; it is unique among the excellent French restaurants of Denver. Le French fuses Parisian & West African influences to accent its menu. In addition to French classics there are menu items reflecting the recipes and bold flavors of West Africa, particularly Senegal. Better appreciating this slant, I followed a classic onion soup starter with a small plate entree reflecting the uniqueness of West Africa. I had Gniiri Croquette (Cornmeal Creamed with Peanut Croquettes, Tomato Coulis, Fried Shallots & Truffle oil). On my next visit Gniiri Croquettes will be my appetizer followed by a classic Boeuf Bourguignon. The shared dessert, Crepe Suzette, was special. Next time I'm ordering one for myself, no sharing! Service was attentive, the ambiance better than average with comfortable spacing & a moderate noise background. Our overall rating is 4.5 . I was last here in Nov 2023 for dinner. I decided a French style brunch was desired. I made the reservation thru my OpenTable app. They are one of the few restaurants that take reservations for solo diners. And I got the same table in 2023. I started with a mocktail "Just Bissap" made with Hibiscus, lime and pineapple. A refreshing drink. I then got a classic French dish, French Onion Soup with carmelized onions, baqette croutons topped with gruyere cheese gratin. A great appetizer on a cold day. My main course was Salade Nicoise with seared Ahi Tuna, boiled egg, green beans, cherry tomatoes, red potatoes and Kalamata olives. A large salad. I paired it with a glass of white wine, Sancerre. I waited awhile, then got a Nutella crepe drizzled with chocolate sauce and a glass of red wine, Minervois from Languedoc of southern France. I was served by Tricia W. Several other staff members said hello. Light music was played. A most pleasant experience. They do not charge an automatic service fee other than a 1% fee for 9+CO shopping complex they are in. Plenty of parking on the street for 2hrs, but a free parking garage with unlimited time is nearby. I learned their menu will switch to a spring/summer choices in 2 weeks. I will be back. read more

I just finished dinner here. I went with some friends before we were going to the movies. We were told at the beginning we would get 10% off our bill since we were going to the movies. The food was delicious. However, the service was terrible. Once we got our food we did not see the waiter again and when we looked up we realized he was now the bartender as well. He finally came back and we had to ask for our waters to be refilled then we had to ask for the check multiple times. Once we got the checks they were wrong. He was nowhere to be found for another 30 minutes and we were going to be late for our movie at this point I asked another waitress to bring us the checks and I mentioned the 10% was not on the food and she said it was too late to add it and she apologizes and next time we could get free drinks. Which nothing was giving to us to receive said free drinks. My sister and I took my mom out for Mother's Day and we tried a few different dishes. We started with the French onion soup, Caesar salad, and a bottle of Muscadet, which was delicious. The French onion soup was only filled up about 3/4 of the way and barely had any broth. The flavors were good, we just wished it was fuller and contained more broth. The Caesar salad also had great flavors but it was dressed very unevenly. The croque madame was delicious! Not too heavy (although, it does fill you up!). The mussels and frites as well as the ham crepe were also worth getting. Our waiter was a little slow and couldn't answer our questions regarding the wine. All in all, I would go back. read more

It cost them a customer simply because someone was too lazy to scribble down a couple items that would have been paid for within the hour. I love the simplicity of calling them and getting a reservation rather than some game of waiting for the first of the month. The ambiance is best described as elevated and modern. The service is attentive and helpful but not pushy. The price is on the higher end but I personally believe it's worth it. This is a great "impress the parents" or "anniversary" kind of spot. Standouts dishes and drinks: Lamb Chops and Sweet Potation - sounds simple right? The sear and flavor on the lamb combined with the fluffiest potatoes was so good I literally forgot to save my partner a bite. I ate it all. Moules Frites - delicious mussels.
