We had a greek salad & a summer salad. Both were delish!!! The summer salad dressing on the website said a teriyaki dressing but the dressing was definitely not that... but BETTER. I met a group here for lunch and we didn't have any trouble finding seating, but we did have to spread out. It's a cozy ambiance. I'd recommend taking a look at the menu online ahead of time because you order at a kiosk. I put in a special request of no tomatoes in my pizza and it was covered with them, so don't love not ordering with a person. I also got the hummus and it was huge. I didn't think there was enough pita bread for the size of the hummus. I would definitely come back. FYI that it's just street parking. read more

A hidden gem that I am so glad to have found. Working at the hospital next-door makes this really convenient! I am just thankful to have found it now but regret that it took me this long to find it. You walk in and the aesthetic is immaculate. Greeted almost instantly with some of the most friendly people. The restaurant was pretty full during the lunch hour, whichhhh I understand why. I got the koobideh sandwich to go, as I had to run back to work. I didn't have to wait long, but the sandwich was still pipping hot once I got it. The sandwich and the meat were both made to perfection. The flavors were absolutely wonderful. I'm pretty picky about Mediterranean food and it's definitely hard to find good places around Denver (if only we were in California!) but I was so pleased with my email. I'm already sooo eager to go back. They have a lot of different things on their menu (some of which are random and not really Mediterranean) but they also offer a buffet of Persian/Mediterranean food with pretty unique dishes that I'm surprised are offered. Based on how many people were there eating from the buffet, I have really high hopes. The food is tasty; I tried the Steak & Herb Pizza which is a mix of NY style and deep-dish which by itself is really unique. Also Kobideh Sandwich which is soft grilled ground beef and flavorful white sauce, topped with some chopped tomatoes and all placed in freshly baked bread. I had a high hope for this place because it has a great review. Ambiance is good. Music is too laud. My family is in the hospital and I needed to have a quick break came here ordered latte and a pastry. There was a two ladies at the register even though they were doing nothing I still have to do, the machine order and I told one of lady I want ice latte. It took them good 20 minutes for my order already and during that 20 minutes, I already paid through cell phone like they told me to. They asked me to pay at the register even tho I already paid and my latte wasn't ice latte. They need to train employees to give better service. read more

Tried this spot for lunch since there were such high reviews, and it was just terrible. My colleague and I ordered chicken wings and the chef's special Zereshk Chicken Bowl. We left a majority of both meals on the table. The wings were bland and soggy; a side of ranch was an extra $1.50. The rice in the chicken bowl was crunchy (undercooked, not intentionally crunchy) and the flavor of the chicken was similar to a canned chicken dish. I ended up parking across the street, with one way on Broadway and 6th... easier to walk across the street. Great ambience and not the hustle and bustle of many coffee shops. First time at this new Denver restaurant. They are on the northwest corner of Broadway & 6th Ave near the Denver Health complex and Mariott hotel. They offer coffee, Persian teas, and smoothies with breakfast items 7am-11am, then lunch & dinner until 8pm Mon-Sat. They offer several Persian related beverages and foods in addition to the usual light lunch and dinner fare. I started with their creamy barley soup made with veggies and topped with olive oil and a full size pita cut into triangular shapes. You can add proteins like chicken, steak and salmon. Very good. Next I got their "The Green" salad with a bed of spri g mix, chopped walnuts, whipped feta cheese, cucumbers, green tomatoes with a lemon olive oil dressing. Crunchy and refreshing. I added a cup of hot Persian black tea with Oat Milk. I also a personal size thin crust pizza with roasted chicken, walnuts, sun-dried tomatoes and tarragon with a creamy garlic sauce instead of tomato sauce. A great pizza. They have 2 other versions, cheesy eggplant and pepperoni. You order at the front counter and they bring out the food. The hot tea was served in a china cup. Despite being next to both Broadway & 6th Ave, there was no traffic noise. They have several high top tables and 4 booths. There is also a couch with antique furnishings for relaxing nearby. The have 2 gender free restrooms. They have soft drinks, but no alcohol. There is large dessert display case with both American style & Persian pasties, like baklava. read more

Quiet cafe near downtown! Delicious food and drink, very kind/helpful staff, and super reasonable prices (I got a huge danish and a matcha latte for only $11). The man who took my order was very nice, and another man who I assume to be the owner was checking up on customers, making sure the sun from the windows was not bothering us. This is our first time in Denver. We were looking for a lunch spot with good and fresh food. After seeing the reviews and pictures on Yelp, we landed on Urban Cafe. It was everything we wanted and more! We ordered the hummus and Italian sandwich. The hummus was deliciously fresh and flavorful, and I was delighted to see the beautiful presentation, too. I took a picture in the hopes of recreating something like it at home. The focaccia bread on the Italian was light and didn't overcome the sandwich like many breads do. It paired well with the flavors of the Italian meats, and I loved the freshness the cilantro brought to it. The aesthetics added to the whole experience. The restaurant was relaxing and comfortable, and the staff was friendly. Highly recommend. If we had an Urban Cafe back home, I'd be a regular! read more
