Came here in the afternoon to do a little work and it was a great vibe! They have seating in the front by the counter, and another room in the back, as well as a patio outside (if you can call it that, it's got a roof and they put in some turf, but it's not very aesthetic and is an ideal for working if you need plugs. It was packed, every table, but one was full, and we were lucky enough to snag that. Even with a full house, the place was very quiet, people respected the "wfh coffee shop" culture, and did not seem to be talking loudly or taking meetings. The drinks were great, not too fancy, but my Matcha was yummy. We also tried a gluten-free zucchini bread and a lemon pound cake which really hit the spot. Prices are pretty fair, and I had no issue finding street parking even on Broadway, although I had a busier time of day, I can imagine it might be more difficult. Really cool cafe with good pastries and different varieties of tea and coffee with lots of seating indoors and outdoors with small front and back patios. My friend and I shared coconut lemon and banana breads and I got a mocha drink. Both breads were tasty but I liked the coconut lemon slightly more, it had a good lemon flavor with real coconut bits. The mocha was sweet but not too sweet. People there aren't loud so we were able to converse easily without raising our voices. It's been 6 months since my previous visit!! I noticed they had a line out the door Saturday morning. I received an email for $2 off and it was about to expire. I got one of my favorite latte's, the Dente. It's made with orange, chocolate and cinnamon. A rich coffee drink. I added their house-made bacon breakfast burrito. It was well loaded with bacon, egg and potatoes. They provided a red salsa. The dining room was clean with soft music being played. Plenty of seating inside and out, lots of drink choices, a good place to meet friends or bring your laptop and work. Street parking only and on busy Broadway so you might have to get creative. I've never seen a coffee shop actively stop giving out wifi to PAYING CUSTOMERS. They literally have a wifi link that says "2 hours wifi with purchase" ... that isn't true even if you purchase something now.... I've never see such an ungrateful business- multiple local business in the Denver metro have closed in 2026 and Bardo on South Broadway is literally running off paying customers. I filled my punch card (which does not count food purchases), and I realized... I won't be filling another. The coffee is average, the food has been sitting in the window for god knows how long and the back area has no A/C in 100+ degree weather in the summer... this place will be next to close, calling it now. I'd love to have a conversation with the business owner about how poorly PAYING, TIPPING, RETURNING CUSTOMERS. read more

Me and my husband needed a caffeine fix and decided to stop in here and I'm glad we did! We got the Bardo and Mocha lattes and both were delicious. I love Bardo! I've been here a couple times to get some studying and work done, and so fa I've had a nice time each time. It's always packed in the front room so if you like working while other people are also working, it's perfect for that. But because of this, it ma be hard to get a table at times. It can be a little difficult to move around sometimes. Their bagels are pretty good. I always get the Chai and it's just fine. Overall, a nice cafe with free wifi! Solid coffee shop on South Broadway. I don't really get down to Broadway much, it's not really my favorite area, but this is a decent spot. The location in Southbury has like small town coffee shop vibes, which is kind of fun, although I would say the clientele and Staff are more hipster vibes. A a very quaint and quirky aesthetic. There's art for sale on the wall, which is something I absolutely love in any small business, unique, local art. Coffee and food are solid, nothing really stands out from what you can get anywhere else, but nothing is done poorly either. And the city full of coffee shops. This is the kind of place. I could see myself going to over and over again if I lived in the neighborhood, but not necessarily the kind of place I'd go out of my way to get to. read more

Great spot in Denver for a late night study/work vibe. They have a large drink menu & bakery options (Including gluten free options- I love their gluten free chocolate zucchini bread). There's a ton of seating & outlets, although you'll be pretty on top of each other. Once you buy something, you'll receive the wifi password & it gives you 120 minutes worth of access. It looks a bit outdated - but I think that's the vibe they're going for. It makes for a relaxed home-y space. Keep in mind that it's all street parking! I utilized this business eons ago. Why didn't I come back to it for such a long time is a question I had asked myself. While this Mile High City was busy growing, I kind of lost in time looking the other way. But when I finally came back here, I realized that Bardo hasn't changed a bit: it still was the Bardo I used to know. In a way, I'm glad. The background music (soft jazz) was so soothing to my (and others') soul (souls.) It certainly created the kind of ambience that many prefer in a good coffee shop. My drink, Viennese (breve with whip and nutmeg) was made iced upon request. Unless you ask for modifications it's unsweetened. I liked it as is. The lady who took my order and the guy who handed me my drink were both kind and courteous. This must be part of what they may be proud of; no wonder many have left great reviews. It was a nice occasion to pay tribute to this almost forgotten legend in Denver. As there are other more modern-themed places continuing to emerge in this city, I shall not forget to appreciate a business like Bardo. Thanks for being around for us. read more

The bardo (dark chocolate vanilla) tasted yummy however the latte art could have been better. Wifi is a 2 hour limit and you must have a purchase in order to get the WiFi paper password from the front. After your 2 hr limit is complete, you'll need to do another purchase to get another WiFi code from the front counter which I thought was kind of lame. Lots of seating indoors and plugs for your electronics. Very dark and moody vibe. Parking is street parking only as well so good luck on a busy day. A longtime customer disappointed by lack of transparency. I've been a loyal customer of Bardo Coffee House for years and have always enjoyed the environment. But during my most recent visit, I learned something surprising: you must purchase a drink in order to receive a Wi-Fi code -- a policy that is not posted anywhere in the shop or clearly mentioned on their punch cards. In fact, the cards read "FREE WIFI" prominently, and the only fine print mentions how to earn punches for drinks, with no mention that a purchase is required for internet access. When I calmly brought this up to the manager -- without anger or attitude -- her demeanor changed immediately. She became noticeably defensive, which strongly suggested to me that this isn't the first time this concern has been raised, and she knows the signage (or lack thereof) is misleading. That kind of response from management says a lot. It's not the Wi-Fi policy itself that's the issue -- it's the lack of transparency and the unwillingness to own or correct it when politely addressed. If you're going to require a purchase for Wi-Fi, that's fine -- just say so clearly on your materials or in the shop. Customers deserve that honesty and clarity. I hope Bardo will choose to address this in a straightforward way, because until then, it comes across as false advertising -- and that erodes trust. read more

After a long walk around Wash Park, my friend and I opted for a little treat on the patio. I was craving something Iced so I settled on an iced Americano with caramel with a splash of cream, while my friend craved something warm and landed on an apple cider. Service was quick, friendly and within about 2 minutes, we made our way to the front patio. Each drink was just right and hit the spot. I stopped in here Friday for coffee and breakfast, and it was great! At 8:15, it was fairly quiet, only a few other people were inside and outside. I popped in for a couple coffees to go and was absolutely blown away by the bardo's attention to detail with their drinks. Flavor combinations were unique and Well-Crafted, blending sweet syrups and bitter beans with a nuance you're lucky to find. I ordered a specialty drink--a breve (a rare find in itself!) with cherry amaretto flavor, and I would absolutely recommend. Service was quick, but I absolutely missed the call for my coffee in the loud space (until I wandered up a few minutes later to a coffee resting on the counter, ha!) I drank my drink and then half of husbands espresso mocha, so tasty! We got an outdoor table because ofcourse we had a furry animal with us that smells and licks people all the time! They gave us a pup cup and we could grab dog treats from the huge jar at the counter. Also, when I went inside to the place our order, I did see that they had tables placed with very little distance Between them, this did not make me feel comfortable considering the ongoing pandemic. The ambiance of the place is great, and the chorizo burrito is delicious. I am a big coffee girl and love to try new coffee shops, but I was sadly disappointed with my oatmilk cappucino.
