Made a visit after not having been in the area for many years with the two dogs I watched having moved away in 2018... I had missed this little coffee spot! Since the pandemic, I discovered that things have changed with the set up and that the orders are placed outside at the side window - actually, I love this idea! While it worked just fine inside, albeit always a bit of a tight squeeze because they're just so darn popular!, this option was really convenient and works wonderfully. The line moves quickly, there are several seating areas outside (I think there was indoor available for after you picked up your order but, I did not confirm - it was such a beautiful day to be outside anyway! The menu is pretty much the basics and several syrup options - I don't need fancy, just good coffee. They're also super doggo friendly ~ two dogs in front of me with their owners together and one of those pups was clearly a regular based on how quickly he jumped up to the window to get his biscuit... and another.... and another... the final jump, I was sure he was going to get himself up and into the window lol! Pricing is reasonable for the inflation we are all feeling at this time, service is very friendly and fast, and my Chai Latte was perfect. I decided to add a touch of caramel that really took it up a notch - asked for a smidge and got a smidge! If you're in the area, check it out ~ it has a very cozy, neighborhood feel and there were clearly many regulars there but, they treat everyone like a neighbor - what more could you ask for? read more

The Matcha here is brown and disgusting. Ask the barista if it was ceremonial grade and bright green. She said yes then after I ordered literally 10 seconds later handed me the ugliest dingy pond colored iced Matcha.. also I ordered a strawberry Matcha. There was no strawberry on the bottom just strawberry flavored syrup added to the worst Matcha I've ever had in my life. read more

I had higher hopes for Wash Perk given it's epic proximity to Wash Park and all the folx hanging around outside. You have to order outside at the window, even if you're planning on staying a while. This was a bummer for a few reasons. First, I could not see any of the food items and second, there were only to-go cups, a massive pet peeve of mine. Coffee was pricey for tasting mediocre. I had a hazelnut latte and the amount of cinnamon heaped on top was overwhelming and I couldn't really taste anything else. They have a ramp which was good so I could navigate my stroller inside. However, no changing table so I had to change my infant on a blanket on the floor (never a fun experience). There was also an unpleasant smell upon entering the shop. Small tables were scattered about and some had outlets for working. They had a little free library inside which I always love to see. Overall though, I was really disappointed and can't say I'd have a strong urge to return. read more

Great neighborhood coffee shop west of wash park. Typically a long line but worth the wait to support a local place. They are very dog friendly too! Order at the window. The only downside is that if you want a pastry warmed up, you typically have to go inside and put it in the microwave. read more

Okay, this is just the cutest little neighborhood coffee spot. It's all order-at-the-window, and there's a little outdoor seating but it's def more of a grab and go type place. Wash Perk is a cute little corner coffee shop located a few blocks away from the popular Wash Park. They have a large range of coffees and teas and additional flavors you can add to the coffee. Additionally, there are pastries and hot foods you can order (breakfast burrito, breakfast sandwiches). There is patio and indoor seating. We got there around 10am on a Sunday and there was a line starting to wrap around the corner. We waited about 10 minutes to get to the window to order and about another 7-10 minutes for our coffee and food to come out. You get the pastry upon ordering and it takes 6 minutes for the burrito. We got a blueberry croissant and they don't skimp on the filling! The chorizo breakfast burrito was a great size for one person to be full but not stuffed. The mild red salsa was tasty too. Wash Perk is a cute coffee shop that I would love to come back to. You can also look at all the cute dogs that pass by as you wait for your drinks! read more

The coffee was awesome! The food... not as awesome. I did enjoy my everything croissant! I loved the flavor of the spices encrusted on top. It also had a nice inner chew. But, with the raspberry scone, I didn't taste anything. You get raspberry essence when eating the fruit portion, but nothing strong or tart. The scone itself was super bland. My suggestion is to absolutely go for the coffee! I loved the syrup flavors they offered and my cold brew was packed with roasty deliciousness. Arrived at 12 (noon) and most everything bakery wise sold out. Ordered a veggie burrito. Egg, watery and very cold salsa for extra .25. Friend had blueberry muffin (meh). You can't order inside which makes zero sense to me. The walk up window is cute but you can't see the food items so it's a mystery what you're ordering. This is a Wash Park neighborhood gem! It's officially 1/2 a mile's walk from me, but every time we walk here, I never regret it. Yes, there's usually a line on weekend mornings, but I often don't mind it. If you don't come early, they usually sell out of the more popular pastries. (We arrived around 11a and they were out of blueberry muffins.) Pro Tip: If you're unable to grab a shaded seat outside, they usually have a nearly empty indoor space (with loads of AC cranking) and a well maintained restroom. read more

when I was in Denver for work, this place was near the AirBnB we were staying at and it was a great coffee shop. I didn't get to spend much time because unfortunately I decided to go here right before they close :( :( :( but it was great! The set up was kind of weird, because I had to order from the drive through area and then come back inside to sit down, but that's okay. Once I figured out the protocol, it was smooth sail. They had a great cold brew and lots of space inside. The staff was friendly and it was the only coffee shop in the area so it was nice that they were there. read more

I've been here several times and they have the best hot chocolate in the city, IMO! I think they add a bit of vanilla syrup to it and they don't skimp on the whipped cream. So good! It's the perfect treat on a chilly day. I recommend getting one and then strolling through nearby Washington Park. Bonus: you often see cute pups in line while waiting to pay/pick up your drink. I am not as big of a fan of Wash Perk's coffee roasts, the coffee/tea prices are a little high, and it is awkward that they verbally ask each customer if they want to leave a tip -- hence four stars. read more

A decent coffee and tea spot. Stopped in around 9am on a Sunday morning and the flow of people was steady but it wasn't too packed. We grabbed a tea and coffee plus two breakfast burritos. They have limited food options beyond some pastries. You have to heat the burritos up in the microwaves they have available, but for being that kind, they were pretty decent. The tea was pretty solid. The seating is eclectic but there are a variety of options for those who want to chill or those who want to get some work done. If you are in the area and need a quick caffeine fix it will do the job, but I wouldn't make a long trip for it. read more

I really liked Wash Perk! The location is great, and it's tucked into the surrounding neighborhood so that it feels super warm and cozy. My drink was tasty - loved the unique flavor of the spiced hazelnut. It kind of reminded me of gingerbread! Unfortunately I was confused by the hours and had a hard time making / finishing a meeting here - there's an inside space, but it closes 30 minutes prior to the closing time stated online, so I was rushed out a little faster than I was expecting. I really want to love this place. The fact that they sell Kaladi makes me happy, the local feel makes me happy, and the fact that I can walk there from my new place makes me happy. But what's really hard for me about this place is that it's still buried neck deep in the pandemic. There's no ordering inside the spacious place. I was told it was initially a pandemic arrangement, but it stayed that way because "there are too many people with dogs and babies to have indoor ordering". Huh? Every other coffee shop I've ever been to has humans with baby humans and dogs and they still manage just fine. So I ordered outside, and wow, I had no ability to even get my own cream or sugar or stir stick, nor was I offered any. I'm paying over $5 for a coffee drink I have to essentially order out of a makeshift McDonald's window, and then as an afterthought I can go inside to hang out if I want, but when I go in the entire order counter is barricaded, and well, it's just not inviting at all. It's like they were given such an abundant space and chose the scarcest approach and arrangement possible. Do the owners actually want to have a coffee shop here at all? It's hard to tell. I sincerely hope they consider returning this coffee shop to...well...a coffee shop. read more

I've been coming to Wash Perk for over 14 years. I've taken a hiatus since moving out of the city and sadly it's no longer the cozy coffee shop it used to be. The coffee is good. But the ambiance and how to order is awful. There used to be great customer service and friendly faces to order from inside, now you have to order outside regardless of the cold weather. Love this spot! We've only been here during Covid times, and they have a great order-at-the-window system. Folks, the line can be LONG. But, they move fast! Both the line and making drinks! I've always had an Americano (pretty impossible to mess up), but I've also tried their little burritos. They're small and a decent snack!
