Not sure what's with all the bad reviews. I got a chai and it was delicious. Actually flavorful and not too sweet. Also, the space was a nice spot to work and chill for a few minutes. I will be back by when I'm in the area. If you want food, there's a good bagel sandwich place across the street, but it can be crowded, so Pablo's is better for a space to sit. read more

The lack of wi-fi is an annoyance, but a reasonable one. Businesses are allowed to make decisions that indicate they're serious about coffee and/or ambience ...... the problem is that this place doesn't have a layout that's particularly encouraging of socializing, and they have multiple sizes of cappuccinos (???), and they serve Ghirardelli. Those are very unserious decisions. The coffee itself is good but not mind-blowing, certainly not good enough to overwhelm the annoyances. So I'm left confused as to what this place is even supposed to be. To me it's just an annoying place to get a good cappuccino. I've had a hundred+ cappuccinos that were just as good at better, and 99% of them were at places that had wi-fi ... and better digs ... and better chocolate. I really enjoyed visiting Pablo's Coffee! We were visiting some friends in the area and this was their local coffee shop. We went multiple times. I thought the coffee at baseline was great (we tried both dark roast and light roast drip coffee which come with a free refill). And our friends purchase their beans for brewing at home (also delicious!) We were really just in a mood to sit and soak in the vibes. There was plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors and I appreciated having indoor plants around the shop (super cozy and cute). I loved the sunflowers outside too (although it was a bit too scorching hot to enjoy sitting outside). I felt I got a good sense of the neighborhood just sitting there. We heard that there's no WiFi and perhaps a no laptops policy to prevent people from working there? Not sure if that's true or not. It'd be a very cute place to get some work done, but it was also bustling, so I understand if that rule is in place to allow more people to enjoy the space. We'd definitely be back if given the opportunity! read more

Cute coffee shop with plant decor. There's a few tables to sit at and catch up with a friend or hang out at. Also wooden bench tables in the front where I saw some customers with their dogs. There's a few parking spots in the front which is nice since parking in this area can be hard. I ordered a drip coffee which comes with 1 free refill. You can choose between a dark roast or a light roast. I chose the light roast which felt like a true light roast, with nice acidic notes. Ending finish of coffee was a little bitter but that's just me being picky. It's the reason for 4 stars. Baristas were friendly. Wait was a little longer than I expected but it was also Nuggets Parade day so lots of people out and about. I also ordered a bag of whole beans for my pour overs. A little steep at $24. read more

This is a cute coffee shop next to the Molly Brown Museum- a few employees there referred my boyfriend and I to it while we waited for our tour time. He doesn't drink coffee whatsoever so this was "my type of place" to enjoy! One of the baristas warmly greeted us when we arrived. He went thru the menu and when I told him my "usual" coffee orders he gave a few recommendations. I went with an iced cold brew and a little cream/stevia. That first sip... chocolate and cream bliss. There was the coffee smell and a slight taste of coffee, but whatever they do to make theirs be more chocolate than coffee- DONT STOP. Been coming to this place for the last 7 years and its really sad to watch it go downhill like this. My last visit I ordered an iced caramel latte and they forgot the caramel. Nbd, but when i came back to have them fix my order; the barista just dumped an inch worth of caramel in my latte and called it a day. I cant even drink through the straw now. If you're in the Capitol Hill neighborhood, this is a good spot to swing in and grab a drink if you need some downtime. I visited recently after lunch but before a tour downtown started. It was a drizzly, miserable day, and the thought of a warm beverage was just what I needed on that particular day. My friend and I walked in, placed our orders, and grabbed a spot in some comfy chairs. The decorations are modern and spartan, but it works. His coffee drink was quickly ready. After a few sips he said that it was not that great, but would at least warm him up on a cold day. I ordered a hot tea (wanting something light and decaf), and since we were staying in, I got a whole pot for it. Nobody announced when it was ready, and after a few minutes, I had to go up and inquire about it. It almost seemed like they had forgotten about me and my order when I got up there. No matter, it was soon solved and I got my tea. It steeped for a few minutes before I poured a cup, and raised it to take a sip. I nearly spit it out as soon as it hit my lips, it was scorching hot! I added some cold water to it and finally was able to drink some. The flavor wasn't that great, and since I had so much, I didn't end up finishing the whole pot that they had given me. So, this is an ok spot to stop in and warm up, but better beverages may be found elsewhere. read more

If you like overpriced coffee and horrendous service this is the place for you! I went in, and while I was paying I asked if they had wifi (there were several people using computers). The employee laughed in my face and said "no, we have coffee not wifi" with a self amused smirk. When I asked if they knew anywhere around that had wifi (as people do have jobs) they responded with another insolent laugh and "this is where we work, so we don't know anywhere else." I was literally in shock that a middle aged man could be so haughty and nasty about wifi to a paying customer. I have been a barista, as has about 50% of Denver's population, there is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON to treat people this way. This person should be immediately fired. I will never be returning and will be telling others not to do so. The coffee is also nothing to write home about, and if you don't love being shamed for asking about wifi in a cafe where people are using computers all around you, I highly suggest going anywhere else. Call Your Mother across the street has much better offerings and the staff are kind despite having a much more difficult job. I would give negative stars if I could. read more

Learned about natural dried beans versus full wash. Had no idea the differences existed but could definitely taste the difference. Really liked them both since they were both smooth and full of flavor. Denver isn't wanting for good coffee places. Pablo's is a solid choice in the Capitol Hill neighborhood. While it's simplistic, sparse decor doesn't exactly lend itself to pulling up a chair and getting cozy with your coffee, the coffee itself was pretty good and the service was very nice. I may be slightly biased because I live across the street but when I'm in the Auraria campus I skip 5 different Starbucks to drink Pablo's at The Library. Always friendly faces and cool local art on the walls. Check out the wall behind the community tables for local publications and happenings. Coffee is fine for what you pay. If you want cold vs hot I'd go espresso drink over cold brew bc cold brew isn't fabulous, although it's really fairly priced. Main reason for this review is staff hasn't really been all that friendly when I've been to this location on Penn! They're not actually rude, but when I was the only one there and walked in, a barista just looked at me and looked away and started speaking to their colleague...colleague got to the register to take my order and just looked at me until I said "hello could I please have..." Totally get everyone has their off days, but in 3 visits not once has someone even flashed a smile A simple "welcome in" or "hi how are you? What would you like today?" would even do the trick I think. Pablo's leadership--if you could do a refresher on customer service I think it would go a long way with customers! The coffee is ok, and the space is quaint for meeting a friend or two. My biggest issue was lack of WiFi. If you have any hope of getting work done here, bring your own VPN. This Pablo's location actually reminds me a lot of the other Pablo's when I first started going there (back in the stone ages), although it's a little bit more mod/hip. I remember when Pablo's on 6th had the big roaster in it, minimal seating, and rarely a line. This Pablo's doesn't have a roaster, but it does have a lot of basic seating - tall, communal style tables, small tables for 2. There aren't any comfy couches or green plants hanging out in the space, but I have a feeling that sentence should have a "yet" attached to it. Because I've watched Pablo's on 6th grow over the years and I have no doubt this space will do the same. Just like the other spot there's no Wi-Fi and while I like working at a coffee shop just as much as the next gal I appreciate that Pablo's takes the viewpoint that coffee shops are for reading books or having actual conversation with people. There are small pastries and baked good. There are the same delicious coffees. And currently there are very small, if any, lines of people waiting for a cuppa joe. There's also a small lot in front of Pablo's that you can park in if you need to, but be aware it fills up fast. All in all I'm glad to have another joint to pick up my fix of Pablo's. And may I suggest if the people at Pablo's are looking for a third spot to open, Park Hill has plenty of coffee drinkers and limited coffee shops.... read more
