I don't usually leave reviews, but felt it was necessary for once. My wife and I frequent Blue Sparrow, and the coffee is consistently excellent--rich, fresh, and well made. Unfortunately, the customer service was unnecessarily rude and unwelcoming, which really took away from the experience. This was our first time seeing the gentleman working, so idk if he's new or just works on Sundays. Great coffee, but a little kindness would make a big difference. read more

Super friendly baristas that got the coffee out fast and looking good! I got a flat white which I enjoyed on their rooftop which is lovely. It's quiet with the wafting music from the neighboring brewery and I'm sure in the summer the gardens are beautiful. This little spot is a gem in RiNo with delicious coffee and hot chocolate as well as baked goods. The space is quaint with cozy seats. It's near many cute little shops I will say that seats are limited and the restroom is outside and around the corner so do go with a friend to save your table spot! This was a nice, convenient coffee spot for an early morning coffee run! What I appreciated most is that this is one of the only coffee shops near where I was staying that opened @6:30a rather than 7a or later, because I wanted to get on the freeway by 7a to get where I was going. I stopped in around 6:45, and the place was small but empty. Very inviting space, would def be nice to study in! The barista helped me out right away, he was friendly and quick so I was on my way by 6:50. I had a chai tea latte, really can't go wrong there - can't say it was so phenom I would go out of my way to come again though. But if I was in the area and needing a pick me up, I would def come again! Note it's all street parking, there was plenty that Friday morning though. read more

Came here with a friend on a Sunday for a quick bite on our walk. They had plenty of drink options as well as a nice pastry selection. Unfortunately, the pasty was a bit dry, but I think that is because it is just sitting there open to all air. It would have been nice if they asked if we wanted it warmed up but it still tasted okay. They had indoor and outdoor seating which was very convenient. It was cute inside and they had two people at the counter taking order. The good: This is a cute little coffee shop in a trendy little area in Denver. Denver has plenty of great artisanal coffee spots and Blue Sparrow shouldn't be spared. Their lattes are perfectly made and their latte art is on point. The interior has around 5-6 tables for two people. There are some high chairs for people watching. There's outdoor seating as well and some shopping spots outside so it's nice to grab coffee and walk around here. They sell classic pastries as well like croissants and cookies. The service was prompt. The prices are fair and the menu is simple and straight forward. The bad: It's a really small shop so it's more for grabbing a drink then going or sitting a little bit rather than studying all day. The interesting: They have a 2nd location in Denver as well. Needed a central spot to meet up with some friends and we found ourselves at Blue Sparrow Coffee which was the perfect spot to hang out with friends! The café has the cutest courtyard, making it an ideal place to relax and enjoy some great coffee. I tried the ham and Swiss croissant, and it was hands down the best I've ever had--flaky, buttery, and so delicious! The coffee was excellent too, and the staff was incredibly kind and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. This shop is adorable and the ambiance is lovely. The building is open to the outside so it's perfect for Denver weather patio days. Great natural lighting and chill place if you need to work. Worth the try: Japanese iced coffee Japanese Iced Coffee: it is what it is--Japanese iced coffee, plain and simple. I asked what makes it "Japanese" and the staff said it's the process of how the coffee is made. Overall, it's a great iced coffee. Light, smooth, refreshing, everything I'd want an iced coffee to be. Some shops have burnt and/or bitter iced coffee, and this one is definitely not that. SERVICE: There weren't too many people when we went, staff was helpful and got our drinks to us fast. PARKING: Located in RiNo, so limited street parking available nearby. ATMOSPHERE: Small shop with a few tables for seating. Walkable to tons of other shops nearby. I was looking for a coffee shop nearby after having brunch at the Denver Central Market, so my friends and I made our way towards Blue Sparrow. Love how simple this place is, and the coffee is great. Cutest coffee spot! They have 3 tables inside but when it's nice out the courtyard in front is perfect gets sun during the day. I'm not sure if I had high expectations coming to Blue Sparrow based on the reviews and the cute interior, but the iced Japanese iced coffee just wasn't to my liking and underwhelming. It definitely is fruity and on the lighter side. There's also an additional added charge for to go cups. To be honest, I don't mind the extra charge, but I wasn't even asked if I was taking my coffee to go or sitting in store and no alternative cup choice was offered. Hope to have another chance to try the other coffee drinks based on all the 5 star reviews, but my first visit here is only 3 stars.
