This place is CUTE and the coffee is delicious. When I was visiting with my friends, there was a little construction happening to open up a lounge for further seating... so, I'm being called back to Velvet Lasso! I can't wait. The service is warm and inviting and my cold brew was excellent and strong in roasted taste (I prefer that). I also really loved the Photo Booth in the back. I now have cherished photos with my friends that I get to look at all of the time now. Wonderful! read more

What a cool coffee shop and lounge. Came early for the AM side of things and Velvet Lasso is a vibe. The menu has a good number of options but not overwhelming. I tried the Cowfolk Combo, which is a small drip coffee with the Hungry, Hungry Cowfolk sandwich. The coffee was from Middle State roasters and their Kenya varietal. It was nice and probably a light roast. The sandwich comes on the softest homemade Kaiser roll stuffed with fried egg, bacon (smoky and sweet), american cheese, tomato jam, aioli, hashbrown. The tomato jam ate a bit sweet and hashbrown not the crispiest but serviceable. The other sandwich we tried was the Hangover Hoagie with perfectly fried chicken cutlet, smoked provolone, chopped olives, house red sauce and caesar salad on a homemade hoagie bun. Hell yes to the HH! Messy in the best way where all the ingredients work together in harmony. The hoagie is crunchy and soft at the same time. What a triumph of flavor. The last thing tried was a poptart. Flaky, crunchy and sweet it was very good. The seating is varied from a church bench to chairs surrounded by old tvs. The bar area was roped off. We got lucky there wasn't a huge line (or anyone in VL) when we were there. It appears they get busy quickly. The barista and staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely come back for other food and possibly drinks in the PM. read more

I tried Velvet Lasso the other day as part of my Stamped Coffee Passport, and I couldn't be happier that I did! The empowering, feminine vibe inside is totally my jam. I absolutely loved the homemade Pop-Tart with its bright pink frosting, and my almond milk latte was delicious. It also looked like they had plenty of heartier options, including full breakfast items, but the Pop-Tart was too fun to pass up. The decorative chairs added so much personality to the space, although they weren't the most comfortable for sitting and working for a long time. Still, this is such an awesome spot, and I will definitely be bringing my daughter here! read more

The vibes and decor in this place are immaculate. I literally want to know who sourced the decor so I can also buy stuff like it. The staff is so nice. Coffee was great. I can't wait to attend some events they put on. I highly recommend following them on socials to keep up with all they have going on. read more

What an absolute gem of a place! Cafe by day, bar by night. Super cozy cool vibes in there!!! Lounge seating for hanging out in a small group or with a friend. Came for breakfast and got the breakfast sandwich (forget the name) but it was BANGINNNNN. Candied bacon and hash brown and the tomato jam was yuuuuum. Top 5 in a while!!! Coffee was a 5/5 no complaints and the baristas were super nice! Wait was a little long but it was poppin so no complaints. Will be back to hit up the bar! read more

Super cute coffee shop! I ordered a matcha drink; I'm a huge fan of matcha lattes, but this was much different and tasted similar to a pressed juice/refresher. It had passionfruit and coconut water. I'm a fan of all of those things, but I just wasn't a fan of the tartness/zing it had. I ended up ordering their signature Lasso Latte instead, which was fantastic. I did have to pay for both drinks, though they kindly gave me a 15% discount on the latte because of the cost of the matcha. It's worth keeping that in mind if you end up not liking something! Everyone there was friendly, and despite how busy they were, the service was great. I'm definitely planning to return soon to explore their food menu. read more

Made it to Velvet Lasso for their soft launch this weekend! This coffee shop is so vibey with a great mix of treats for breakfast and lunch! I got their Cafe de Ollo latte which features great cinnamon and star anise favors. Highly recommend getting here early before they get extra busy! The decor and aesthetic in the main room of the cafe is so gorgeous. I really love how they leaned into the funky cowboy vibes. read more

This is such a cute spot! I was a little nervous that they were closed when I arrived, but I realized I was at the second set of doors, still under construction. Velvet Lasso only opened last week, so this is to be expected. The under-construction section is partitioned and not bothersome at all. The service counter layout did confuse me for a minute, as I was waiting to order at the front of the counter when the register/order area is on the right, sided against the back wall. I had seen Velvet Lasso on Instagram before visiting, so I knew I wanted to try their house Lasso Latte (mocha with raspberry and almond?!). When I asked if it contained dairy, the barista responded, "A small amount." I understand that they were giving me context about the amount, but my allergy doesn't care if there's only a little (which, also, is arbitrary). (Also, allergen labels may not be the most aesthetic but they are extremely helpful and it takes a large burden off of employees communicating them.) They offered to do the latte without the mocha, so I went with that. Unfortunately, it wasn't very good. It almost tasted...stale? I don't think any of the other drinks could be non-dairy but I did not ask. I was not able to order any of the pastries. Overall, I was a bit underwhelmed but maybe it's just not the right spot for me! read more

Not sure is the Velvet Lasso Lounge will be getting its own Yelp, but I figured I could review here! I was able to attend the soft opening of the lounge over this past weekend. It was great! I ordered the mocktail, Good Decisions, and I'm already ready to go back for another! All of the employees were so friendly and the decor is immaculate. They're have really done a great job to curate a good vibe. The pistachio cannoli is also to die for! I wish I could just get three of those instead of the other flavors. read more

I am so happy to try a new coffee shop! This place knocks it out of the park. The decor is amazing, the coffee was delish (not too sweet with tasty flavor), and the customer service was great. I really enjoyed the 'velvet angel' coffee. I absolutely love that they had match boxes that I could add to my collection. :) I can't wait to come back soon and try more of the menu including the baked goods. It's a pretty small spot with minimal seating however the barista let me know they would be opening the space up more in a month or two! read more

I'm on the fence about how I feel about Velvet Lasso. Their menu is ecclectic but just like their sandwich I tried I think they are striving so hard to be different it's not wholly working in their favor. My caramel iced matcha was pretty great. They used an adequate amount of sweetness and it was creamy too. The neighborhood sandwich I got was abysmal. The "pork loin" was microscopic the brash pungent taste of the mustard versus the raspberry sauce did not work in their favor. The random calorie addition of potato chips and the mountain of salad did very little to please my tastebuds. I don't have to get that again. I tried to order the foccacia pizza but the cashier couldn't tell me what flavor it was. They said it just depends on whatever the chef puts on it which is cool and all, but can you find out what that is. Don't have to come back, but not a completely terrible experience thanks to the matcha. read more

Got to check this place out and it was so good! The banana matcha was really good and I don't even like banana flavored things. The pastries were very good too. The gruyère ham would be better warmed up but they said in the near future they'll be able to do that. The service was good too, very friendly. It's a cute place, a bit small but it looks like they are in the middle of expansion. read more

This place is so cute! We tried the Lasso Latte and Velvet Angel. The lasso is definitely almond and raspberry forward while the VA was a more subtle flavor. We went on a Saturday early afternoon so it pretty crowded so we couldn't get a seat, but we still enjoyed the cute decor! The staff was very nice as well. Would go back for a coffee to go! read more

This place is so aesthetically beautiful!! Love the concept --- came here early for their grand opening Valentine's Day 2026 ! So cute on the inside and absolutely gorgeous inside. This is a cute new bakery and coffee shop near downtown Denver. The decor is very fun and they have some unique flavor combinations. The pastries are good but a bit overpriced. They are more expensive than other places in the area but not any better than their competitors. Worth a try if in the area, but I don't think I'll make it a regular stop. read more

Price: I paid $14 plus tax for the Sweetheart Suite It's a great deal because you get your choice of one of their signature drinks and a choice of a few different pastries. They have several milk options too, like regular, coconut, and oat. Food & Drinks: I ordered the Velvet Angel latte with coconut milk and toasted hazelnut syrup. This coffee shop is definitely more of a latte lovers spot. If you're looking for a Starbucks latte that's basically milk and sugar with a splash of coffee, this isn't it. This drink was a good middle ground. It had a hint of sweetness that was just right, but you could still actually taste the coffee. For my pastry, I chose the blueberry jam pop tart and it was really good. The presentation was also mouthwatering. They decorated the latte with a heart. It was so pretty and cute. Service: The service was great! The staff was patient, helpful, and kind. My drink was ready in about 4-5 minutes, which I thought was really quick. Parking: There is free street parking available. I went early and had no issues finding a spot right outside the store. Atmosphere: The shop is small and cute, with just a couple of tables for small groups. Because of the size, it's definitely more of a come and go spot. It was full of people when I went, so you can't always count on a seat being open. Even though it's tiny, the setup is nice and it felt very peaceful and calming to be there. Overall Experience: It's a nice neighborhood gem with great presentation. Honestly, I wasn't totally sold or in love with the specific drink I got this time, but since everyone has their own taste, I would definitely recommend checking it out. I'll have to come back to try another one of their signature lattes before I'm fully sold! read more

Velvet Lasso is the new kid on the block and boy do they know how to deliver! Black Box bakery better watch out because the pastry's on Velvet Lasso's menu will rope you in! The Ham and Gruyère chose me through the pastry window- layers of buttery flaky crust with the cutest gherkin presented with a flourish on top! My partner had a classic pan au chocolate paired with a hot chocolate. To drink I had to go with the opening day Shortstack Special beverage- a matcha with salted maple banana cold foam. Yeehaw I'll be having that again! For opening day I was really impressed with the staff for welcoming each customer. The added detail of mini bouquets with the orders, the CUTEST Photo Booth tucked back by the restrooms, and the overall atmosphere of this place. This is going to be a hoppin' spot. Can't wait to see when they open the adjacent room! Grab your sparkly boots and get on over to this new spot! read more

The Ambiance is really great, however when you are treated horribly, it will make you never want to return again. I went with my mom and sister and we were excited to try since we've seen it all over social media. Once we walked in, we were not greeted and then it was our turn to order and the woman who took our order was clearly acting "fake nice"...you can just feel the vibe and it was the kind of feeling where you know these people are racists. We noticed the white people being treated so much differently..and we even ordered a few food items with our drinks and the drinks tasted awful. Overall I would say, save your money and go to a different coffee shop. This one only caters to white people and their needs. Horrible people working here, they were all very rude and bitchy, do not come here. read more

Super popular place when we went on a weekend Tiny on the inside with very limited seating Very limited menu for food (~4 food items?) We got some kind of raspberry mocha latte which was pretty good Got the hungry hungry cowfolk: honestly this was just ok. standard egg sandwich you can get anywhere. didnt like the sweetness in it And the Neighborhood situationship: very very bready. too bready. but the insides tasted very good together They gave two dum dums to go which was a nice touch Good one time thing but I prob wouldn't go back for food. Way overpriced for what you get. read more

12/10 across the board. There is simply no better coffee in the city, if not in the state. The signature latte is to die for. The hungry, hungry cowfolk is genuinely the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had and it blows a bec from nyc out of the water. Im not supposed to eat eggs and i still body this sando like my life depends on it. The service is always elite. The team that works here is absolutely incredible. They're so friendly and kind. Ilysm. And can we talk about the vibe and how gorg the whole place is? I need to be friends with whoever was in charge of the thrift haul. Exceptional work. Every time my wife and I come in, I see something new that I'm enamored with. It just the best place and we love our weekly dates here. I also saw someone mentioned that it's very small inside. Even if the line is long, the team moves with such efficiency that you will never wait longer than five minutes to order. Thanks for being the best place. read more

I visited velvet lasso earlier this week with a friend. She ordered a matcha latte and was really displeased by the awful taste. I ordered a specialty mocha which also tasted awful. My friend left a review on google and it was taken down by the owner within 1-2 days. That isn't a good look. After walking in and seeing the cold, small space, being served 2 horrible drinks (which we paid almost $20 for), I feel confident saying that this place only has the raving reviews it currently has from promoted videos on tiktok. Anyone who truly enjoyed these drinks either had their drinks made by an experienced barista, or doesn't have decent taste in coffee/matcha. read more
