The hungry, hungry cowfolk is genuinely the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had and it blows a bec from nyc out of the water. Im not supposed to eat eggs and i still body this sando like my life depends on it. The service is always elite. The team that works here is absolutely incredible. They're so friendly and kind. Ilysm. And can we talk about the vibe and how gorg the whole place is? I need to be friends with whoever was in charge of the thrift haul. Exceptional work. Every time my wife and I come in, I see something new that I'm enamored with. It just the best place and we love our weekly dates here. I also saw someone mentioned that it's very small inside. Not sure is the Velvet Lasso Lounge will be getting its own Yelp, but I figured I could review here! I was able to attend the soft opening of the lounge over this past weekend. It was great! I ordered the mocktail, Good Decisions, and I'm already ready to go back for another! All of the employees were so friendly and the decor is immaculate. They're have really done a great job to curate a good vibe. The pistachio cannoli is also to die for! I wish I could just get three of those instead of the other flavors. read more

Super cute coffee shop! I ordered a matcha drink; I'm a huge fan of matcha lattes, but this was much different and tasted similar to a pressed juice/refresher. It had passionfruit and coconut water. I'm a fan of all of those things, but I just wasn't a fan of the tartness/zing it had. I ended up ordering their signature Lasso Latte instead, which was fantastic. I did have to pay for both drinks, though they kindly gave me a 15% discount on the latte because of the cost of the matcha. It's worth keeping that in mind if you end up not liking something! Everyone there was friendly, and despite how busy they were, the service was great. I'm definitely planning to return soon to explore their food menu. read more

This is a cute new bakery and coffee shop near downtown Denver. The decor is very fun and they have some unique flavor combinations. The pastries are good but a bit overpriced. They are more expensive than other places in the area but not any better than their competitors. Worth a try if in the area, but I don't think I'll make it a regular stop. read more

Made it to Velvet Lasso for their soft launch this weekend! This coffee shop is so vibey with a great mix of treats for breakfast and lunch! I got their Cafe de Ollo latte which features great cinnamon and star anise favors. Highly recommend getting here early before they get extra busy! This is such a cute spot! I was a little nervous that they were closed when I arrived, but I realized I was at the second set of doors, still under construction. Velvet Lasso only opened last week, so this is to be expected. The under-construction section is partitioned and not bothersome at all. The service counter layout did confuse me for a minute, as I was waiting to order at the front of the counter when the register/order area is on the right, sided against the back wall. I had seen Velvet Lasso on Instagram before visiting, so I knew I wanted to try their house Lasso Latte (mocha with raspberry and almond?!). When I asked if it contained dairy, the barista responded, "A small amount." I understand that they were giving me context about the amount, but my allergy doesn't care if there's only a little (which, also, is arbitrary). (Also, allergen labels may not be the most aesthetic but they are extremely helpful and it takes a large burden off of employees communicating them.) They offered to do the latte without the mocha, so I went with that. Unfortunately, it wasn't very good. It almost tasted...stale? I don't think any of the other drinks could be non-dairy but I did not ask. I was not able to order any of the pastries. Overall, I was a bit underwhelmed but maybe it's just not the right spot for me! read more

I am so happy to try a new coffee shop! This place knocks it out of the park. The decor is amazing, the coffee was delish (not too sweet with tasty flavor), and the customer service was great. I really enjoyed the 'velvet angel' coffee. I absolutely love that they had match boxes that I could add to my collection. :) I can't wait to come back soon and try more of the menu including the baked goods. It's a pretty small spot with minimal seating however the barista let me know they would be opening the space up more in a month or two! read more

Got to check this place out and it was so good! The banana matcha was really good and I don't even like banana flavored things. The pastries were very good too. The gruyère ham would be better warmed up but they said in the near future they'll be able to do that. The service was good too, very friendly. This place is so cute! We tried the Lasso Latte and Velvet Angel. The lasso is definitely almond and raspberry forward while the VA was a more subtle flavor. We went on a Saturday early afternoon so it pretty crowded so we couldn't get a seat, but we still enjoyed the cute decor! The staff was very nice as well. Price: I paid $14 plus tax for the Sweetheart Suite It's a great deal because you get your choice of one of their signature drinks and a choice of a few different pastries. They have several milk options too, like regular, coconut, and oat. Food & Drinks: I ordered the Velvet Angel latte with coconut milk and toasted hazelnut syrup. This coffee shop is definitely more of a latte lovers spot. If you're looking for a Starbucks latte that's basically milk and sugar with a splash of coffee, this isn't it. This drink was a good middle ground. It had a hint of sweetness that was just right, but you could still actually taste the coffee. For my pastry, I chose the blueberry jam pop tart and it was really good. The presentation was also mouthwatering. They decorated the latte with a heart. It was so pretty and cute. Service: The service was great! The staff was patient, helpful, and kind. My drink was ready in about 4-5 minutes, which I thought was really quick. Parking: There is free street parking available. I went early and had no issues finding a spot right outside the store. Atmosphere: The shop is small and cute, with just a couple of tables for small groups. Because of the size, it's definitely more of a come and go spot. It was full of people when I went, so you can't always count on a seat being open. Even though it's tiny, the setup is nice and it felt very peaceful and calming to be there. Overall Experience: It's a nice neighborhood gem with great presentation. Honestly, I wasn't totally sold or in love with the specific drink I got this time, but since everyone has their own taste, I would definitely recommend checking it out. Velvet Lasso is the new kid on the block and boy do they know how to deliver! Black Box bakery better watch out because the pastry's on Velvet Lasso's menu will rope you in! The Ham and Gruyère chose me through the pastry window- layers of buttery flaky crust with the cutest gherkin presented with a flourish on top! My partner had a classic pan au chocolate paired with a hot chocolate. To drink I had to go with the opening day Shortstack Special beverage- a matcha with salted maple banana cold foam. Yeehaw I'll be having that again! For opening day I was really impressed with the staff for welcoming each customer. The added detail of mini bouquets with the orders, the CUTEST Photo Booth tucked back by the restrooms, and the overall atmosphere of this place. This is going to be a hoppin' spot. I visited velvet lasso earlier this week with a friend. She ordered a matcha latte and was really displeased by the awful taste. I ordered a specialty mocha which also tasted awful. My friend left a review on google and it was taken down by the owner within 1-2 days. That isn't a good look. After walking in and seeing the cold, small space, being served 2 horrible drinks (which we paid almost $20 for), I feel confident saying that this place only has the raving reviews it currently has from promoted videos on tiktok. Anyone who truly enjoyed these drinks either had their drinks made by an experienced barista, or doesn't have decent taste in coffee/matcha. read more
