Can you tell that this is a non-alcoholic Espresso Martini?
    Rika M.

I may be rating this place solely based on the delightful Chicken Pita we had last Tuesday night. My adult daughter and I were celebrating the holiday by doing a girls' night mainly in downtown but since we wanted to make the night as magical as possible, we picked this place for a nice after dinner cocktail place as we remembered it when we dined at the high-end restaurant on the same block (a few doors away to the west) in early November. We were we went here. Service was professional (this might be a better thing than "friendly", not sure if you agree.) I usually opt for my usual, "red wine" at a bar or cocktail lounge and yet I wanted something out of my comfort zone so as soon as I saw the Espresso Martini on the menu, I immediately eliminated the idea of the red wine". My daughter who doesn't drink, simply copied my idea so she ordered the nonalcoholic version of it. I liked the size of the cocktail glasses at this place. Not massively big; they are more on the smaller size but that's exactly what I wanted as it was a second drink for the night. It's not like we were closely observing the bartender when he was making our concoctions but he definitely used some freshly brewed espresso to make them as we sipped our night away, the nice bitterness of the espresso as well as some sweetness was entertaining our palette; and it lingered for a while. Mine (alcoholic one) had the perfect foam on top; hers had more holes in the foam (as it was, once again, nonalcoholic. Hers which I tasted, however, was perfectly an Espresso Martini; if someone served it to me as "alcoholic" I wouldn't be able to tell the difference.) I want to get into the protagonist of the night: the Chicken Pita with pesto marinade and a side of fries. First, the guy we ordered this with apparently forgot to place it with the kitchen. We found out when we later inquired about it with the other guy in the bar as he came by so he went back to him to ask him about it. He (the original guy) then came to us with a professional apology for forgetting to place it but said he'd rush the order which would only take 10 minutes. We were super easygoing about it as we weren't in a hurry in any way (we told him that.) He then said the pita would be on them as they made a mistake. Wow! What a considerate gesture! They righted the wrong without any hesitation. Once he had brought us the much awaited pita, my daughter (who was still quite full from the light snacks at our first restaurant earlier that night) took a bite of it. Even though she wasn't hungry (like I said), she couldn't stop eating it so she ended up taking a few more bites. I, of course, tasted it after her and oh my goodness, the pesto marinated chicken was so amazingly tasty. The pita that wrapped the chicken was large and soft. And the fries that accompanied the pita were nicely seasoned. We got to know a nice cocktail lounge that's conveniently open from early hours in the morning to late hours in the night (I believe, however, that they are closed for a few hours mid afternoon.) As this place checks for all three elements of a good restaurant (ambience, service but most of all, good food and drinks), it's now on my favorite restaurant in Denver.

Salita touts, "You're in good hands" on their website and that is a fact. From the minute we walked in the door to the moment we left, we were well taken care of. Situated in Capitol Hill, this welcoming space serves up espresso and cocktails by many former staff of the speakeasy, Green Russell, so you know the caliber of the cocktails is amazing. Menus are in a chic, black leather notebook. If you don't see one that suits your taste, they are happy to whip one up for you. My recent go to has been a Revolver made with espresso vs coffee liquor and since Salita had an espresso menu - score! My revolver was a perfect balance of caffeine, bourbon, and orange bitters. I also decided to try one of their classic cocktails, the Colfax Dirty Martini. The Cynar bitters sets this one apart from other dirty martinis as it adds a bit of sweetness to the brine of the olives. Happy Hour runs 4-6pm on weekdays, 2-6pm on Saturdays, and all day on Sundays. Salita is a great place to hang out with friends, enjoy excellent cocktails/coffee and conversation, or just vibe from the amazing playlist coming out of the speakers.

Great little neighborhood bar for an afternoon with friends. Shane was so knowledgeable, helpful, and nice. Spot on drink recommendations every round. Everyone enjoyed their drinks, snacks, and the overall experience. Great vibes and ambiance.

Great atmosphere, knowledgeable and welcoming bartenders, and delicious/ unique cocktail selection! I ordered the strawberry nimbus and it is probably the best cocktail I've ever had. Yum!!

Do you ever get an experience that just blows your expectations out of the water? It's a casual Sunday, and I'm checking out this quaint coffee/cocktail bar, which comes off completely unassuming.... They ask if you want the coffee or cocktail menu, and then the magic begins. The cocktails are beyond unique - they have intriguing ingredients that don't even sound like they go together; but you know what, they do! And the drinks are incredibly balanced. An added bonus is that they are so kind and generous as humans and bartenders! I can't stress the welcoming atmosphere enough, along with their thoughtfulness in making sure you select a cocktail that fits your flavor profile. What's even cooler? This.. so I'm not a fan of gin but they had some extra Pesto Mainfesto (gin, strega, basil, parsley, olive oil, lemon, garlic honey, and toasted pine nut) and offered several of us a try. I wasn't optimistic because I don't like gin plus olive oil, garlic, lemon, and pine nut in a drink???? Guess what? It was crazy delicious. I would totally order a full cocktail of it! Who knew the magic of olive oil in a cocktail!?! So on to my other libations, the house punch option was refreshing and tasty. The Smoke Daddy was phenomenal (bourbon, mezcal, banana, angostura, pineapple, cinnamon, and orgeat). Boozy, balanced, and such depth in flavors. Layers of goodness! I also got an off menu version of their espresso martini with mexican chocolate flavors and spice (yum). I wanted to get a soft drink, and Miranda asked if I was open to a homemade soda - I said heck yeah. She asked what I liked/didn't like and proceeded to create an amazing orange, lemon, honey homemade soda that was refreshing and tasty. Places like this are special because they not only provide stellar services and amazing cocktails they also are in a class of their own of what few establishments world wide can accomplish - which is providing an excellent AND balanced cocktail regardless of the liquor used. That's right, I said it. Truly amazing cocktail bars can wow you with any drink or liquor because they understand ingredients and complementary flavors that are balanced. This is one of those places. When you hear craft cocktail, this place represents what true "craft" means, especially when it's wrapped in a welcoming and unassuming coffee shop vibe. This will definitely be a new stop and go to on my Denver list.

This up and coming bar is a great place for a relaxed cocktail hour in the afternoon or for a delightful espresso in the morning. Near the heart of downtown, this cute little place offers a wide range of cocktails. I had the Paloma and throughly enjoyed it. The waiter was attentive and super fun as was the bar tender. As the evening wore on, the place got very busy but we were still well taken care of. I will be back to try more cocktails from their menu and definitely will be back to try their espresso. Cute place; Highly recommend!

Fantastic cocktail bar! The menu is creative and fun, and they've got a seasonal menu that changes every 2-3 months. Staff were friendly and happy to answer questions about some of their more unique concoctions. Happy hour until 6, $10 for classic cocktails - and we're not just talking a G&T. Seasonal offerings are in the $14-$18 range for the most part, and worth it. With so many blah cocktails downtown meeting or exceeding that price, a trip to Salita should be a no-brainer. They've got comfy bar seating and more intimate window seating throughout. Seriously, go! Salita is amazing.

Love these drinks! So fun to have such a legit cocktail bar in our neighborhood. They take such care with each drink and the flavors and presentation is outstanding. Highly recommend if you want somewhere fancy and delicious.

    Tommy P.

Great selection of booze with amiable if not especially driven server in a pretty room with comfy seating (also seating outside). Prices were reasonable and it was a good place to kill an hour. Don't miss a trip to "the facilities," just to check out the remarkably decorated throne.

This place is fantastic! Santi is a great bartender and made me feel right at home. I had the Eye of Sauron and it blew my pants off. They have so many great drinks and the atmosphere is so great! I'll definitely be back!

Nice vibe, nice concept (if you want to drink all day you need to start in the morning), and friendly and patient service. Unfortunately, the coffee was way too hot - we had to wait a while before it could be consumed (the disposable cups were even melting at the mercy of the heat). Another note - as a New Yorker, dining in Denver was an eye-opener and the best example of tipping culture gone wild. Salita in particular has an automatic 22% tip (they label it a creating happy people fee but let's call it what it is) which seems a bit excessive for coffee.

When we arrived, most of the covered seating and heater areas were already taken, so we ended up sitting in one of the uncovered sections. As it turned out, that was a blessing because the views were amazing. From where we were seated, we had beautiful views of downtown Denver and the surrounding cityscape. Between the skyline, lights, and rooftop atmosphere, it created a memorable evening. What impressed me most was the ambiance. The lounge had a lively but relaxed energy, and people were friendly and approachable. It felt like the kind of place where you could enjoy a date, meet new people, network, or simply unwind with friends over drinks and conversation. My date ordered food, but I honestly don't remember everything he had. I wasn't particularly impressed with the food, but since this is a rooftop lounge, the atmosphere was really the star of the show for me. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and would return for the views, the social atmosphere, the drinks, and the opportunity to meet interesting people. Perfect for: Date nights, networking, socializing, drinks with friends, and enjoying Denver's skyline.

Bedlam was recommended to us for late night drinks by staff working in one of the restaurants at our hotel. During our short stay in Denver, we went to Bedlam twice. The first time was around 11:30 on a Thursday night. We had a few cocktails along with a cheese and charcuterie plate. The second time was around 12:30 on a Saturday night when we came in for a night cap. The first time we came in, it wasn't too busy, and we were encouraged to sit wherever we wanted. The bar was full so we chose a small table. Our server gave us menus, though specials were written on a chalkboard above the bar. We each tired a couple of cocktails and had a shot called the Master Shot. We also chose the make-your-own charcuterie board. Our favorite drink was the Woo Girl, which allowed us to choose our spirit of choice. I chose gin and my friend chose tequila. When we returned a couple of nights later, we knew already we were going to order the Woo Girl cocktail. It was packed on a Saturday night, but there was a small table in back where they seated us. This bar is more for spending time with the friends you come with, rather than mingling, as staff seats you at a table. It doesn't seem like they offer standing room or just squeezing in, though maybe we just didn't experience that. That said, all in all, I really enjoyed Bedlam and recommend it to anyone going to Denver.
