The employees def have the Gen Z stare (sorry) but they make fire drinks. Strawberry matcha was top tier, it wasn't too sweet! Could've been mixed better as there were a lot of matcha chunks but overall it was solid quality. The place was super busy but low stim which was great; lots of cute nooks and crannies to sit at for privacy. I was able to complete my work comfortably. We got there at just the right time because shortly after we were seated, a line formed at the door. Service was genuinely warm and welcoming, which always sets the tone. I loved the crispy potatoes, and the ground sausage was evenly spread throughout so every bite was flavorful. The eggs and sausage worked perfectly together, and it was filling without being heavy. Stopped in for a beverage before dinner. This location is very busy, yet still has a chill vibe. Attention is definitely paid to detail in the decor and the menus are tastefully a part of it in the nicely painted signs, one for coffee and one for cocktails. Even though there are lots of options for seating, most were full on this chilly day and the warm and welcoming vibe encourages people to linger. I ordered the Paloma. They were out of grapefruit so they asked to substitute with hibiscus tea. Sure, I'm game. What a cute place this is!! My friend and I came to Denver and ended up on a coffee shop crawl because of bad weather one day so we ended up here. It's a little downtown coffee shop just outside a nice park, and there is plenty of street parking just up the road. It's bigger inside than it looks outside with lots of cushioned areas to sit as well as regular tables, which makes a great study spot. We got drinks and ended up just sitting at the bar where we still did some work on our computers because the bar area is so spacious They only have one single toilet bathroom so I recall having to wait like 10 mins to pee but the bathroom itself was very clean! And the servers at the bar were helpful when we ordered. The tea I got was an earl grey with lavender syrup, and I quite enjoyed it! It wasn't much different in flavor to me than a regular earl grey (which uses vanilla syrup), and I had a lavender earl grey latte from a different shop earlier that day (Hearth) that had a stronger lavender flavor. Nevertheless, I love a regular earl grey latte anyhow so this was lovely to me! My friend got a cup of chamomile which she said got the job done as well (warm up, no caffeine). Overall the interior of the place is just adorable - if I lived in Denver I would come here to study sporadically for sure! read more

There is much to admire about this establishment. The interior is thoughtfully designed, the atmosphere is inviting, and the coffee, batched cocktails, and pastries are perfectly respectable. I especially appreciate that they stay on trend and offer seasonal specials. At first glance, it appears to be precisely the sort of neighborhood spot one hopes to see succeed. As both a customer and a resident of the neighborhood, I've spent enough time here to appreciate what Darling does well and to observe where it consistently falls short. Unfortunately, the experience begins to deteriorate once one moves beyond the espresso machine and observes how the business interacts with the community around it. To be clear, the vast majority of the staff are pleasant, capable, and professional. My frustrations lie almost entirely with management and the culture they have cultivated. For several years, the same three employees have routinely used the marked Loading Zone and No Parking areas as personal parking. The road in question is neither a private lot nor an employee amenity; it is a narrow public roadway already burdened by limited space and residential traffic. Yet it is treated as though it exists primarily for their convenience. One begins to suspect that parking regulations are viewed less as rules and more as gentle suggestions intended for other, less entitled, people. What makes this particularly frustrating is not the parking itself, but management's response to it. Residents, property management, and the HOA have repeatedly raised the issue through every reasonable channel available. The response has ranged from indifference to outright dismissal. In the process, management has done far more damage to its relationship with the neighborhood than a few illegally parked cars ever could. The weekly run club presents a similar issue. What could be a positive community event frequently spills into the roadway, obstructing access to residential garages and creating needless congestion. It often feels as though the surrounding neighborhood is expected to simply accommodate whatever inconvenience accompanies the event. Likewise, the brief experiment with live DJ performances produced noise levels more appropriate for an EDM club than a residential neighborhood. On one memorable afternoon, the bass was sufficiently powerful to rattle nearby buildings and transform an otherwise peaceful weekend into an involuntary concert experience. People gathered in the courtyard to see what was happening and had to shout to even hear one another. The crowd inevitably overflowed into the street as well, continuing a pattern of treating shared public space as an extension of the business. What I find most frustrating is that none of these issues are particularly difficult to solve. They merely require a willingness to acknowledge that a neighborhood business has responsibilities to its community. There is also the matter of one particular staff member who has been associated with the cafe for years. What I find frustrating is that her conduct consistently undermines the otherwise positive experience. On numerous occasions I have repeatedly overheard her loudly complaining about her coworkers, customers, and her life in areas where patrons could easily hear. She has a generally dismissive and rude demeanor with customers and her peers. Whether intentional or not, it creates an atmosphere of negativity that feels entirely at odds with the welcoming environment they seem to be trying to cultivate. It is a performance so consistent that one begins to wonder whether she has ever had a good day. The contrast is especially striking because the rest of the staff seem perfectly content to do their jobs, treat customers respectfully, and go about their day without creating unnecessary drama. The difference in professionalism is striking. It is particularly disappointing because the business itself has so much potential. The coffee is good. The space is beautiful. Most of the employees are friendly and professional. The problem is not the cafe...it is the apparent belief that being a neighborhood business somehow exempts one from being a good neighbor. In the end, a coffee shop's relationship with its community extends beyond latte art and exposed brick. Courtesy, consideration, and basic respect for the people living nearby matter as well. Until management recognizes that, this will remain a place I admire far more in theory than in practice. Perhaps the most telling detail is that despite having an attractive space, a desirable location, and a generally excellent staff, the space is often surprisingly empty in the evenings. After observing how concerns from residents have been handled over the years, I find that far less surprising than I once did. read more

This cute little coffee and cocktail shop is definitely making itself known. Hello Darling has found itself on Westwords 100 for this year, and I would agree with its accolades. It was very busy for a Monday afternoon and the people just kept coming in with very little downtime in between orders for the one worker. It is a quaint little space with several different types of seats and tables available. All that was left were the bar stools at this point in the day for us. The decorations are lovely- super modern and very trendy. This is definitely a great place to hang out, with your laptop or with another, or all by yourself. It gives off the vibe of being very lowkey while having quality drinks and nibbles. I selected a margarita to enjoy while taking in the views. Came here for some date night drinks after dinner! Love the aesthetic, beautiful interior. They had trivia going on (Every wednesday 7pm) with some music which made the atmosphere lively and fun, but not too distracting/loud to have our own conversation. The crowd had a good mix - some there with friends for trivia, others in small groups just chilling, a couple people working on computers or reading. I wanted the paloma but they were out of grapefruit (they use fresh squeezed juice) so I got the margarita instead, which was solid, there's also a spicy option I didn't try. The bf got the old-fashioned, which he said was decent as well. There's a bunch of games tucked away in the corner as well, so we pulled out a Table Topics Date Night deck and had fun asking each other questions. Since we were taking our time, what I liked about the service is that the bartender checked in with us occasionally but let us ask for the check when we were ready, and we didn't feel rushed or pressured at all. Only con is there isn't an abundance of parking, but we did find a meter nearby. Hello Darling is a coffee shop (that also serves alcohol) nestled within the beautiful area of Confluence Park in between LoDo and LoHi. Sometimes, it is difficult to get those work gears turning while sitting at home with T.V. and snacks distracting you. I have found Hello Darling a fantastic spot to stop by and get some work done for a few hours. Plus, if you need a break, Confluence Park is seconds away to take a nice walk, pet some dogs, and enjoy South Platte River. Although I've enjoyed the coffee here, the ambiance is the real selling point here. No matter where you sit, there is nice and calming lighting as well as decorations to give you just enough to look at while not being distracting. Again, perfect for getting a few hours of work done. Another huge plus is that parking on Little Raven St is free (up to 2 hours at a time and then you have to move your car) which can be hard to find in the core of downtown Denver. This place was right down the street from my "Kasa" for a couple days in Denver, and I gotta say, what an awesome place for a neighborhood coffee shop! On a Tuesday morning, it was bustling with activity, from people socializing, having meetings, or just working on their computer. For me personally, I went with my standard iced mocha latte, and also went for one of their savory pastries. Speaking first to the pastry, they warmed it up just a tad, and it contained cherry tomatoes, gruyere cheese, and a super flaky croissant like dough. I loved it. I could eat this thing every morning if I were a local, and it was just one of many choices. To my drink.. spot on. Good amount of kick, but with that slightly sweet and creamy mocha taste. The OG location of Hello Darling is amazing! It's one of my favorite coffee shops in Denver. It's so aesthetic with a lot of greenery and light pink accents.
