Since leaving NY, I have been struggling to find good baguettes. I do not know how many times I got disappointed. At one point, I seriously thought about flying back to NY to get the good baguettes. After a few years, I finally found one! I was there every Friday, but now, with a new job, it is just impossible to go. When I was going to a meeting in Denver, I searched for a bakery. I always look at photos of a baguette - the whole "figure" and how it looks when cut. I could find photos of the baguette, but none of the cross-section. So it was a gamble - I pre-paid for 2 baguettes. And I was not wrong! They were wonderful! Embarrassed to say, but I ate almost the whole baguette by myself! I froze the second one. Incredible. We came here three times in the three days we were in town, and if not for the itinerary we had it would've been more. We tried an assortment of treats they had. The standouts for me were the croissants. Super flaky and buttery, just as they should be. The focaccia was also exceptional, so soft and warm, pairing perfectly with the dipping oil. You really can't go wrong here, if you think you're gonna like it you probably will. The shop was a little hard to find for us out of towners, but it was super cute and quaint once we did. The staff is awesome. We came on Halloween day and they dressed up as the scariest thing they could think of: Starbucks baristas. Awesome bakery, absolutely check them out! read more

My favorite croissants!! I had a long layover and ventured out to downtown and stopped by LoDough. I got a passion fruit croissant and nutella croissant and they were perfectly crispy and soft. I even brought back half of it to share with my family as I flew back and it held up just well the next day. The woman working at the time was the sweetest and made the visit so much more memorable. We were exploring the Dairy Block Alley one night and stumbled across the bakery. Long closed for the day, they did have a sign on the door that said they were "sold out." So naturally, we had to look them up! Great reviews meant we needed to stop by for breakfast. Such a great variety of pastries to choose from that it was hard to pick. Ended up getting one of each - sweet and savory. Their ham and cheese croissant was DELISH - the croissant was flaky and the ham and cheese was the perfect compliment to this breakfast bread. And their passionfruit croissant was DIVINE - just the right amount of sweet and stuffed with a passionfruit custard. Anytime I go on a trip I'm always searching for the best bakeries! This place was no exception... It was a little walk from our hotel, which was perfect because I planned on eating my weight in delicious sugary carbs! The location is a little bit hidden... We almost missed it, but I kind of think that's the point. We walked into the tiny shop and were overwhelmed with all of the amazing pastry options! Lovely little bakery in the alley behind the Dairy Block. It has a pretty small footprint with a small table inside and one outside, but there's magic in that oven! We learned the main baker is from Austria and brings the techniques he learned in the old country here! The dude knows what he's doing - we tried a pan de chocolat and grabbed some banana bread for the kids. Both were next level! The pan de chocolat lasted about 6 minutes and we grabbed a second banana bread because the first was half gone within an hour. It was as unique as it was delicious - it incorporated cinnamon, chia seed, and orange zest. It was the least banana-y banana bread we've had and overall we loved it! If you're in the area, you should check it out, and get there early because when stuff is gone for the day, it's gone! read more

Was walking around the Dairy Block Alley in the afternoon when we saw this bakery. The sign said it was closed early because everything was sold out, and I knew that I definitely had to try their baked goods. Came by the next day and that sign did not lie - I could totally understand how they could sell out their stock. The croissants we got were all perfectly flaky with a tasty filling - so much so that we ended up getting multiple different croissants. I stayed downtown on a recent trip to Denver. One evening I visited friends for dinner and needed to bring a sweet treat. I gave LoDough a shot because of its proximity to my hotel and its reviews. Succinctly - it is a cute shop with wonderful staff and great products. The individual who helped me spent time with me identify a range of treats for a varied set of preferences and needs. To that end, this bakery offers a wide range of gluten free options. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, everything we tried was delicious. The monkeybread was moist and sweet, the scones were scones but still flavorful, the cookies were the surprising hit of the group. Sweetest lady runs this shop! They bake fresh everyday and have a rotating variety. Parking is tricky and when we went late on Sunday, they were completely sold out. However, she did give us her card so that we could call ahead and hold some pieces for us in the future. Next time we went there early, there plenty of variety to choose from and she also gave us a discount. Her pesto focaccia with olive oil was really awesome!!! I really liked the vibes and look of this place. We stopped to get a banana loaf and my cousin bought a pop tart treat. The pop tart was really good as it was not too sweet. Stopped here to pick up some pastries for dessert and share with coworkers. Ended up getting a GF lemon poppy seed cookie, an Irish Creme croissant, a Danish and monkey bread. Our shared favorite was the Danish, and the croissant had a nice rum-flavored cream inside. The monkey bread was pretty dry, same with the GF cookie. Overall, I'd go back for breakfast and get a croissant but not a dessert-like baked good. The people were very friendly. After having brunch a few blocks away, my friend and I went in search this place, having seen it on Instagram. They had both sweet and savory bakery items and even treats for your dog. I selected a tradition French Pear tart and a Nutella croissant. What I liked most about these treats was that they weren't overly sweet. They had a perfect balance. The pear tart was delicate in an almond tart. A subtle sweetness. Initially I emailed the owner/baker asking about brioche but he was so knowledgeable and kind to inform me that challa was the way to go for my homemade french toast. I placed my pre order and when it was time to pick it up i was thrilled. not only with their business, service but their bread alone would have won me over. yummy pretzel that was fresh, mustard in the fridge to pair. the french bread was devoured with just butter within hours. the challa ended up lasting me a few days and made french toast for my guest and myself days later. to this day, I'm still thinking of LoDough, I should be going back in the coming weeks. this time I'll try some pastries. read more

My daughter and I went here yesterday. We ordered 3 items: a ham and cheese croissant, a passion fruit croissant, and monkey bread. My overall impression is that this bakery is talented at making croissants. Although none of the items were home runs. The passion fruit croissant was my favorite of the 3. What kept this pastry from being truly amazing is that the passion fruit filling was a blob in center of the croissant. We started eating it on one end and didn't get to any filling until we got towards the center. We thought it would be too messy to try to spread it around on the croissant so we took a small bite of filling and elsewhere took a bite of croissant. It was an annoying way to eat a croissant. This is the spot. This is it. This is our 2nd weekend in a row stopping by here. They are SO friendly. I'm not sure if it's the owner running the show in the front, but she is the sweetest woman. Last week we went in for a pretzel and she was showering compliments on my daughter, and when we went back today she remembered us! Today, the pretzel wasn't ready, but we got a croissant, and I kid you not it was THE BEST CROISSANT I'VE EVER HAD! And I've had many! It was moist, it was flaky, it was soft, it was EVERYTHING. I can imagine this place would be a little difficult to find, but it seems like everything else around here is as well so maybe that's an us problem. We ended up getting a passionfruit croissant - this was a touch too sweet for me but the consistency of the croissant was perfect. A gluten free banana muffin - my husband loved. A whipped hazelnut croissant - this was insanely delicious and I am not a chocolate fan 13/10. Lastly a strawberry cream pop tart - this was perfectly flaky and the frosting on top was so nice.
