Located in the very cute Dairy block of downtown Denver. Popped into get a little nibble. Grabbed a pain de chocolate and a small banana loaf to bring back to my kids in CA. I promptly ate the pain de chocolate. Flaky, chocolatey and delicious. We ate the banana bread the next morning. It is not your average banana bread. It has a lemony flavor, dense and somehow tastes a bit healthy while still being absolutely delicious. Ate it guilt free after that, though I'm quite sure it was not fat free. It is not your average loaf. The lady who helped us was absolutely lovely, as well. I wish I had had more time to have a cup and coffee and more treats. Hands down best croissant I have ever had! You have to treat yourself to a Blackberry Sage croissant (flaky and filled with blackberry sage jam) and take a seat in the alleyway. We were staying in the Maven at the Dairy Block and I'm obsessed with pastries so naturally had to try out LoDough. I can imagine this place would be a little difficult to find, but it seems like everything else around here is as well so maybe that's an us problem. The staff working was so kind and patient when I couldn't decide what I wanted because everything looked so amazing. We ended up getting a passionfruit croissant - this was a touch too sweet for me but the consistency of the croissant was perfect. A gluten free banana muffin - my husband loved. A whipped hazelnut croissant - this was insanely delicious and I am not a chocolate fan 13/10. Lastly a strawberry cream pop tart - this was perfectly flaky and the frosting on top was so nice. First off, Abby, Em, and Cassidy were so sweet and gave amazing service that went above and beyond. Their energy completed the visit to the bakery. So glad I found this spot online! Was in the union station area and I walked over to this bakery. It's a small little shop that feels a little hole in the wall / hidden gem. Their pastries and baked goods looked gorgeous. I got a boreka and an almond croissant. I was told the best croissant is a blackberry sage one but they were sold out unfortunately. Both pastries were absolutely delicious! I recommend heating them up slightly. The pastry is buttery and flaky and very well-made, and each was so flavorful. The lady who helped us was kind and friendly and very knowledgeable of all pastries. Everything is fresh so as the day goes on, they run out of things that are most popular. The best pastries I have had in America - the ham and cheese croissant, the Nutella croissant (truly unmatched), the apple tart....just stunning. 4.5/5. Baguette was 5/5! I brought it to a gathering and everybody commented on how good it was -- and that was 24 hours after purchase! Bourekas was 4/5, super buttery but didn't have a ton of flavor coming through, I probably would have preferred a croissant. The person working at the counter when I stopped in (a Friday morning right at opening) was incredible and totally brightened my day. There was a short line formed when I arrived, but nothing crazy. This is the spot. This is it. This is our 2nd weekend in a row stopping by here. They are SO friendly. I'm not sure if it's the owner running the show in the front, but she is the sweetest woman. Last week we went in for a pretzel and she was showering compliments on my daughter, and when we went back today she remembered us! Today, the pretzel wasn't ready, but we got a croissant, and I kid you not it was THE BEST CROISSANT I'VE EVER HAD! And I've had many! It was moist, it was flaky, it was soft, it was EVERYTHING. I'm gonna start off by coming clean. I have a bread obsession. As someone with a bread obsession, imagine my joy when I find out there is a great little bread bakery hidden in the cute alley of the free market. As soon as I saw pictures of their bread, I immediately went over lol. They have a solid selection of breads and pastries here. They even have fresh pressed juices and kombucha! I ended up ordering a potato and onion boureka. That shit SLAPS. I lied. I actually got 2. I wanted to get a loaf too, but I couldn't find cheese around to go with it. Next time, I'll definitely pull the trigger on that. The service here is pretty good. I recommend you come earlier in the morning because it seems like they sell out of stuff pretty quick. I have to call this place everyone's ideal bakery because of its cuteness/quaintness. Tucked in downtown Denver's happening place, Dairy Block, although I have been to more than several businesses here in the past, I had no clue such a bakery existed until today (when did it open?) I guess I still don't know much about what this beautiful Mile High City has to offer after living here for a quarter century. Some stores/shops confuse you by having a huge selection of items. This bakery is nowhere close to that. Its size/space, the number of sweet/savory pastries they display upfront, they sort of keep it to the minimum, but it doesn't fail to entertain you and your eyes. It's like a cute bakery you might stumble upon in some European city. The store sign in the Dairy Block alley says so much about it: "Small batch. Big love". If this store was a dog, it'd be chihuahua but with a BIG heart! Out of all the pastries they have, lemon tarts and Potato & Onion Bourekas (baked pastry in Sephardic Jewish cuisine and Israeli cuisine) caught my attention. Lemon tarts are a bit pricey at $10 a piece but since I'm a huge fan of it I was more than willing to pay the buck to try it. And I wasn't disappointed a bit. The tart was impeccably made in taste and appearance. The meringue and the bittersweetness from the lemon danced in my mouth as if they did a little tango. And oh boy, the Potato & Onion Bourekas was out of this world. When I got home, I put this savory pastry in the oven to bake it for about 10 minutes. And when it came out nice and golden brown, the potato was as creamy as cheese and it melted on my tongue so I STRONGLY recommend you do the same: buy it to go and bake it in the oven at home for about 10 minutes to achieve the perfection that this pastry is capable of doing. It's so worth it. The seating space inside is very limited but you can always go to the main dining hall in the Denver Milk Market or sit outside in the Dairy Block alley as long as the weather permits. Let's not forget; the lady who assisted me was so sweet to me. I appreciate this kind of top-notch service. I simply cannot wait to come back here. read more

This is located on the dairy block in the inner alley way. Cute little location with excellent service and decent prices. We went later in the afternoon so there wasn't a large selection however they did have done great options still available. We went with a pretzel, which came with mustard, a chocolate chip cookie, and some banana bread. The pretzel was delicious. There wasn't just salt on the top. There were other herbs as well, including caraway, which is one of my favorite herbs and it gave the pretzels such a unique flavor. I loved it.. The chocolate chip cookie was cooked perfectly with big chunks of chocolate and a crispy edge chewy center texture. The banana bread is exceptional and bursting with flavor. I've had this spot bookmarked for a long time and was happy to finally get to try it. It's a cute shop which opens onto the pedestrian-only back alley section of the Denver Milk Market.  I really wanted one of the gorgeous crusty loaves but as a tourist knew that didn't make any sense so I settled for a berry poptart and an apple hand pie. Both were EXCELLENT! I'm a crust person and will say that theirs was near perfection. Tender and flaky, just sweet enough, not oversalted. Clearly someone here knows what they're doing. We are a wonderful late breakfast at LoDough today. We sat on picnic tables outside next to LoDough. We had a really good ham and cheese croissant, a delicious hazelnut cream filled croissant. I had a yummy almond croissant , crisp on the outside filled with gooey sweet almond paste. I also enjoyed a morning bun topped with crunchy sugar and also a delicious orange glaze. Stumbled upon this place from TooGoodToGo and was lucky enough to have some goodies left to be picked up at LoDough. I noticed this place always sells out very quickly and I was never early enough to get anything, until right before Christmas. Cute little pastry shop tucked away in the alley of the Dairy Block. Upon walking in, I was greeted with a big smile from the lady at the counter, getting my goodie bags ready. There was another gentleman sorting and cleaning up the cases. The bakery looked clean and dainty. Upon receiving my goodies - There were so many deliciousness in there, even at the end of their day, the pastry tasted fresh and the presentation were beautiful. I would come back when in the area again. Highly recommend checking them out when you're in the area. This bakery is kind of epically amazing! The Danish we got had layers upon layers of perfectly crisp and delicate pastry. The fruit component was sweet and delicious. Cookies were also about as good as cookies get. Not overly sweet, but certainly enough to satisfy a sweet tooth craving. I was tempted to buy a loaf of bread, but we had activities planned and didn't want to haul around bread. One of these days I need to make time to get bread from there in the morning. They were so friendly too and great with kids. The space is pretty small, but the entire alley is a beautiful venue for enjoying your baked goods. Inside gives you a warm and inviting feel, just a real happy place to be. If you're ever in the dairy block area during morning or early afternoon, be sure to stop in here for a treat. I know I will be. Even if the selection is limited and picked over by early afternoon, you won't be disappointed. LoDough Bakery is located at the Dairy Block in LoDo. Get it? You better, it's a killer name and the baked goods are outstanding! Even from the aesthetics alone, this isn't your typical bakery. It's chic, it's cozy, it has an open garage door as its entrance. It's a place where you can relax with a pastry and a glass of champagne and people watch those walking by. Baguettes, challah, danishes, focaccia, bourekas, dog treats and their signature sourdough. It's all delicious if I'm being frank. It never ceases to amaze me how bakers do what they do. I can cook, but I can't bake to save my life. Let alone, baking at high altitude?! If you find delicious bread in Colorado, those bakers deserve an award! Chef/owner, Jan, makes bread for all of Bonanno Concepts restaurants, including the adjacent Denver Milk Market. It's been a pleasure getting to know them over the few times I've been to LoDough. This bakery is a hidden gem. I went to Denver for my birthday and stumbled upon this place. I went in and the lady who served me was welcoming, inviting and super nice! She thoroughly explained everything they had freshly made and from there it was easy to make my choices. Ambiance was warming and cozy. I got a croissant with hazelnut filling and that was delectable, soft and airy! The pop tart wasn't too sweet and dough was flaky! The salted caramel pecan cookies were soft, sweet and savory!! She even gave me a free cookie for my birthday! If I ever come back to Denver I will definitely visit this bakery again. read more
