wow wow wow!!! i am so impressed! what a cute little bakery. food is absolutely delicious and well priced in my opinion (coming from LA no sandwich is less than $15). i had the farmhouse croissant and it was fantastic. the coffee i had was pretty good as well. i forget the name but it was the vanilla chocolate latte, definitely was a bit on the bitter taste but still good. this is a nice place to sit and work- not too busy and lots of chairs and tables. the service was very good. i was greeted right away and h the cashier was friendly and helped me make a choice in some of her favorites. will definitely be coming back! I actually ended up here because I was on my way to another coffee shop I'd found but it smelled so good walking out of my hotel next door that I had to check it out. I'm so glad I did! My iced latte was absolutely delicious. The espresso was strong yet balanced & flavorful. I also made my own breakfast sandwich. The portion was very good. I got a chocolate almond croissant to take with me. It was lacking a bit of that traditional flakiness of a croissant but the flavors were great. I had such an amazing experience at Trompeau Bakery & Cafe! I was in town visiting for a few days and this very quickly became my favorite place to eat. I mainly came here for the Matcha, but I was extremely happy I stopped inside. There were so many fresh options to choose from. I ordered a custom sandwich on a croissant with chicken salad, red onion, and a little mayo. The chicken salad had such a great flavor. And the croissant was so flaky and soft. Super filling! I also ordered a Matcha with Oatmilk and added vanilla and coconut syrups. It was sooooo good! My order was made super quick and the restaurant was clean with plenty of places to sit. I stopped by Trompeau Bakery after a friend recommended it, and it made for a great breakfast before heading into the office. I ordered a medium latte with an extra shot and the Garden Sandwich. They asked which bread I wanted, and after going back and forth between the croissant and brioche, I ultimately went with the brioche. Sometimes the simple things really are the best. The sandwich was light yet still hearty enough to make for a satisfying breakfast. The brioche was soft and delicious, and all the veggies made it feel fresh without leaving me hungry afterward. They were unfortunately out of hummus, but the staff immediately let me know and offered either a substitution or the option to choose another sandwich. I opted for avocado, which worked really well with everything else. The latte was good and exactly what I needed to accompany breakfast. Service was fast, and the staff was friendly and patient, especially while I debated my bread choice and figured out the hummus substitution. There is plenty of seating both inside and outside, making it a nice spot whether you want to grab something quickly or sit and enjoy breakfast. Good place for a quick grab n go bite. It's on the first floor in a very walkable area and has a free outdoor seats, but we sat inside because we were spending plenty of time outside with walking and exploring the gardens. We visited on Friday morning around 11am. Unfortunately most of their menu was sold out, but we were able to order a large croissant stuffed with cheese and bacon as well as a strawberry refresher. The order came out quickly and was perfect for sharing. Service was friendly and overall we had a nice time here. The table was a little dirty , it hadn't been bussed. I enjoyed dining for breakfast here once, I did it again 24hrs later. I'm not a big fan of breakfast but I had the quiche and the stuffed croissants; both were great! I felt like both were satisfying, you will not feel stuffed though. I really enjoyed the green detox smoothie. Had it twice. The texture is a bit different but it was tasty to me. I got the build your own sandwich which was pretty lackluster to me and the options provided weren't great in my opinion. The cherry danish on the other hand was really good. Trompeau was a solid lunch stop. I ordered the Orchard Melt, which came with turkey, thin apple slices, melted brie, and candied walnuts on a brioche bun. It was a tasty sandwich that really hit the spot, especially after a few other lunch places this week missed the mark. The Trompeau Bakery is inside the same historic holding as the Marriott downtown. There is some street parking and paid lots nearby. Parking is expensive. The Bakery is pleasant, but relatively small with limited seating. It can get very busy during the morning. Some of the baked items are popular, but according to other Yelpers the quality varies. Just ask them to remake anything that is not hot or cooked enough. We mostly think this place is suitable for breakfast, but you could come here for lunch. We really wanted to try the quiche, but did not get to. This place is worth a try for a quick breakfast bite. read more

They were apologetic and replaced it quickly, but the second one was the same. I may return to try something else because the flavor was good, but I would not recommend ordering a pull-apart. Everyone running the counter was really friendly and sweet. They were super understanding of all my questions regarding caffeine, and best of all THEY HAVE DECAF CHAI Most places make their chai with a pre-made syrup, but they make theirs from scratch so it's available decaf. It wasn't quite as sweet as what I normally go for, but I loved how it was spiced. A little peppery and heavy on the cardamom. Hit up Trompeau Bakery while in Denver and huge kudos to them for being a coffee shop that is not afraid to open at 6AM. Maybe it's just me but I think a coffee shop opening any later than 6AM should be a disqualifier when it comes to getting my business! The staff at Trompeau was friendly as they took my order. I grabbed a bottled orange juice and ordered a cup of coffee and a build your own breakfast sandwich. The coffee was piping hot and was okay but nothing to write home about. It was certainly good and did the trick, just nothing that was remarkable or would bring you back for just a cup of coffee again. The build your own breakfast sandwich was a nice option and I opted for egg, chicken sausage, pepper jack cheese and tomato on sourdough bread. The egg was premade and the sandwich was decent. The sourdough bread was excellent but I found it strange that for a breakfast sandwich the bread wasn't toasted. The croissants in the case looked to be quite good and those might be worth checking out as they certainly seemed like a nice breakfast option. Not a bad local spot and bonus points for opening up at 6AM. read more

With a meeting downtown, this bakery is just steps away from where I needed to be. Super convenient and worthy of the Baker's Appreciation Fee (5%) that is automatically charged on your credit card purchase. While it is not on their menu board, matcha lattes are indeed available here. I certainly appreciate the non dairy milk alternatives available for a small fee. The barista did his best with pouring latte art on my matcha canvas and serving it up with a smile :) Now for the croissant! So many choices and they are all large flakey buttery goodness! I savored every bite of the Almond croissant. It was hot and fresh out of the oven, like a big warm hug. The seating area is clean. The service is super friendly. What a quaint bakery and you can enter from the mask or the Courtyard! The croissants are massive - really! I chose the quiche Loraine to go as I had meetings to get to. Trompeau was a nice spot for a morning coffee. I came early on a Saturday so it was very quiet throughout my visit. Plenty of seating for both socializing or sitting alone if you need some solitude. Newly opened bakery, I couldn't wait to try. Its on 16th Street Mall and Curtis Street where Starbucks use to be. The inside looks just like the Starbucks except with the bakery trademark. I would say this place is less of a French bakery (how its advertised as) and more of a regular coffee shop with a small selection of baked goods. I had a latte, Reuben croissant and their chocolate vanilla cake. I wasn't super impressed. The latte was pretty typical and good. The Reuben croissant left a lot to be desired. It wasn't worth the price point. It was super cheese but the Reuben meat (corn beef?) was grey and tasteless. There was minimal amounts of it and even less sauerkraut. The chocolate vanilla cake was good if not a little too sweet. All in all it was an okay place. But misleading as a bakery. I doubt I will make a special trip to go there in the future. read more

This is a cute secondary location to the original Trompeau Bakery in Englewood. Although many folks are saying this is more of a coffee shop than a bakery, I think that misconception is due to the fact that they don't have a huge display case of pastries. Nevertheless, the baked goods here are delicious and reasonably priced. I had an almond croissant that I really enjoyed- it wasn't the flakiest croissant I've ever had, but the almond filling had the perfect amount of sweetness and there was no yucky almond-extract flavor. Note that they have a great breakfast special: $6 for a large drip coffee and pastry of your choice! Don't be dissuaded by the 16th street mall construction out front. read more

They also have cookies, tea cakes, apples and premade salads. There are several tables and counter seating looking out towards Curtis St. No patio. Only 2 staff persons, one making beverages and the other preparing food. That caused the waiting line to move slowly. I saw several groups of people leave the line. I got a chocolate croissant which was warmed up in a convection oven and a hot chai latte with Oat Milk. They still have their rewards program thru FiveStars.
