The first time I came to Milk Tea People, I thought it was good but it was definitely not worth the drive and it was a pricier matcha than I have seen. But fast forward to 2026 and the era of tariffs and inflations, a $10 drink is the norm. And I'm glad I decided to give MTP another try. First time was good but didn't stand out. This time around, I left impressed. We were in Downtown to see Hell's Kitchen and I decided to bring my partner here since he's never been. This time, I ordered the ube jasmine sweet cream drink because it didn't look too powdery and artificial (the light purple color spoke to me). We also ordered the black sesame drink and both drinks were quite delicious and definitely worth the drive for the drinks (or at least the 14 min walk from the entertainment venues to here for a pick me up before the shows). They're not too sweet and I'm glad that they don't overload the drink with ice because I've been to some places where you get 90% ice. It's a modern milk tea shoppe but it's currently located in a plaza with plenty of outdoor seating and it's enclosed so you don't see the loudness of the city. Milk Tea People is conveniently located in Downtown Denver. Went here twice for our girls trip. My verdict is that I recommend their frescas but not their matcha or hojicha. On our first visit my friend got the matcha jasmine sweet creme and I got the hojicha vanilla sweet creme. We both agreed that the matcha and hojicha were watered down and had a chalky aftertaste. This was definitely not worth $10. My two friends who got frescas instead loved their drinks. The second time we went back we all got frescas. They were extremely busy on a Sunday evening especially since it was the Dodgers vs Rockies game. It took awhile but service was amazing. Staff brought out our drinks. I was craving some Boba tea and saw this on the map and had to stop by because of all the good reviews. Turns out they don't actually have any Boba, but they're milk. Tea options are unique and cover a range of amazing flavor combos. I went for the black sesame, it was absolutely incredible. They have an open " kitchen" if you will, grinding the Matcha by hand constantly, right in front of you. The entire vibe is very zen, it's a very small place but the entire front has very tall windows, giving it a larger field, and very natural, minimalist energy. Definitely in the upper echelon of teas offered in Denver. They whisk their ceremonial grade Matcha for each order. I opted for the Americano with light ice and unfortunately it came loaded with ice. Having waited a bit I did not complain about it. We were only 48 hours in Denver and wanted to make the most of it. I did not want to stay another 10 minutes waiting for a remake of my drink. My husband opted for a Hojicha latte with the black sesame cream top. The first time we went it was chef's kiss. Since it was so good, we opted to go the last night we were in Denver and when I watched the pour on the cream top, it was all liquid. It was not creamy at all, which was very disappointing. She tried to swirl it a little bit, but it did not make a difference. It was more like a black sesame creamer lol. Again, did not argue or ask for a remake. Inside is clean and front facing. You can see everything that they're doing and how everything is made. Since things are made to order, there was a bit of wait time both times we visited and there are always a ton of people. There are some Adirondack chairs outside if it gets packed inside. Regardless of the mishaps, the customer service is fine and we would be back again if in Denver. Whaaatttttt. How have I not been here!? Tucked away in the Base Camp marketplace is an extremely aesthetically pleasing milk tea shop! The decor is simple, clean, and really beautiful. I ordered the hojicha milk tea latte and it was delicious. Hojicha is so toasty and nutty and delicious and mixed with the milk and sweetness, it was utter perfection. I think I need to get it hot too! I also ordered the coconut ube waf chi. Waf what, you say? It's a mochi waffle. It's fantastic. You gotta try it. Both the matcha and service were great here. We stopped midweek around lunch time and here was a few groups of people ahead of us. We had more then enough time to decide what we wanted so when it was our time to order it was quick. If you like, no, LOVE, milk tea, people this place is for you. Deducting a star mainly because every time I check out I nearly have a heart attack from the prices (this ain't no chubby Purple Cow cup either), because the location is terribly inconvenient since it's in the heart of downtown, and because the online ordering system doesn't really save any time. We actually got our drinks AFTER people who arrived after us despite already placing our orders while walking over. Milk Tea People takes boba to craft boutique level. The minimalist aesthetic of the store is probably enough to tip you off. This being said, it's nice not being assaulted by 100 different tea, fruit, milk, and topping options. The drinks they serve, they do well. Fragrant matcha drinks and earthy hojicha are whisked and brewed into strong concoctions that you'll struggle not to down in a single long sip. As is now custom, you can alter your ice and sweetness level, but not to quite the same titration level as other boba shops. Ice is just normal or less ice, and sugar levels are modified by pumps of cane sugar, similar to a Starbucks. Alternative milks are offered, but at a whopping $1 extra. If my drinks didn't cost a meal each, I might have room in my paycheck to buy one of their much hyped waffles, but this will have to come later. The wait for your drink can be long. An eye-catching display of Kinto drinkware is set for you to admire if you're waiting inside, where seating consists only of a few backless stools. You'll find some communal picnic tables and Adirondack chairs just outside though. Might as well enjoy some fresh air while you dream of your next drink. read more

BRO, massive L and miss for me. Probably since I'm a native the 626 which has boba as far as your eyes can see, this place was not that great to me. We were trying to find a boba place with milk/dairy free alternatives as one of my coworkers is vegan and this is one of the few places in Downtown Denver that have that option. It definitely is a fancier, high end place. Very minimalistic decor, Aesop hand sanitizer (this is how you know they're bougie), and they wash everything there with a thing they press the cups on and they heat up and whisk the matcha freshly in front of you too. I got their Green Thai Tea Almond Sweet cream, less ice, half sweet. It was super milky and very sweet, so I can't imagine what a 100% sweet drink would be like. My coworkers did enjoy their drinks and I probably just ordered the wrong thing as there are so many other places in SoCal to get delicious Green Thai Tea (looking at you, ChaTraMue) that this paled in comparison. Also doesn't help that many of the drinks here are around $9-10, and doing any additions or adjustments may make it cost even more. For that cost? You can do so much better. read more

I was trying to find cafes to get a matcha from and almost every single coffee place was closed except for here! I walked here using google maps which was simple but also kinda confusing because the restaurant is in the middle of two buildings, but the entrance is on the outside. I just realized I never left a review for Milk Tea People since October! My production manager (we're not from here ) raved about this place, and since my daughter loves milk tea, we had to try it. Came in with a friend for tea, and we only realized when we arrived that they were only a milk tea shop, not a milk tea and boba shop (which is not something I've really encountered before). We decided to try it anyway, and it was decent, but a bit pricey. Shop itself is very minimalist chic and clean--there's not really any seating indoors etc., so it seems like the expectation is that you are taking the tea to go or sitting outside, which isn't unreasonable. Everything really seems strictly styled to look like a minimalist magazine shot or something. The tea itself does seem to be of a reasonably high quality, but I feel it is obfuscated by the addition of so much milk, so it doesn't feel like you really experience everything you're paying for. I actually am unsure exactly what it was I ordered because it definitely came with quite a lot of milk... I want to say it was matcha and blueberry? Warm from the oven/iron/toaster, the texture is gooey and crisp at the same time. I opted out of the condensed milk, and added the blueberry lavender gelato which paired sooo well. The gelato gave off a Turkish ice cream texture, and the flavor's so nice. Also ordered the black sesame jasmine cream drink and you get the nutty flavor from the black sesame. If you love good matcha like I do, then you know how hard it is to find a place that really gets it right. Between the matcha and chai struggle, I'm honestly one bad drink away from becoming a barista myself. Starbucks uses that chalky powder, some shops use tasteless pre-mixes, others overdo the powder or underuse the water, leaving bitter clumps at the bottom of your cup. It's rough out there But let me save you the trouble--these folks do it right. At this point, I feel like I need to try everything on the menu. I found this place through someone's Instagram and made a mental note to visit. I'm so glad I did, what an excellent experience. What I've Tried (all iced with oat milk): - Matcha Orange Blossom (first visit): I was intrigued by the flavor profile, orange blossom is floral, and paired with matcha, it gave a light, bright taste. I enjoyed it, but I think I wanted something a bit more full-bodied. - Strawberry Matcha (next visit): This one was the winner. Truly one of the best matcha drinks I've had since I started drinking matcha regularly. The earthiness and fruity notes were perfectly balanced, just the right amount of sweetness, and gave me the energy boost I needed. I'm not ashamed to say I went back for a second one before my trip ended. - Lavender Matcha (final visit): This one didn't work for me. It was recommended by the staff, but I think I would've preferred the blueberry lavender version. The matcha overpowered the lavender, and I didn't end up finishing it. What's their motto, "Distinctively Bold"? Uh, YES THEY ARE. The flavors of their drinks are bold and strong. I kid you not, we went 3 days in a row because we knew we wouldn't be able to get it again when we left. Every drink is crafted to flavorful perfection. You cannot go wrong with any and between all of us, we probably tried more than half the menu. If I were to recommend one thing in the menu it would be the coconut ube wafchi! TRUST MEEE It's so good. My fiancé and I tried it and I felt our eyes roll back because it was so delicious. Everything about it was perfect. From the vanilla ice cream to the waffle itself. As a Filipino I can definitely say it definitely had that Filipino flavor to it. The drinks were also good but nothing too special. I had the strawberry cheese cream which was supposed to be like a strawberry cheesecake like drink which was amazing at first because you get hit with the cheese cream but once you mix it up, the flavor changes and the strawberry kinda kills the creamy cheese flavor. Still good, just not the best for me. The blueberry lavender latte was also pretty good! Not too sweet which is a good thing. You can really tell that they put a lot of effort into their drinks. The ube jasmine sweet cream was my absolute FAV -- it was super sweet but clearly with a floral flavor which I LOVE. When I went back I really wanted to order it again but decided to try something else, so I got the hojicha vanilla sweet cream which the staff person recommended. She'd also recommended the black sesame jasmine cream but when I asked which was sweeter she said the hojicha so that's what I went with! It was lovely, but not as lovely as that ube jasmine sweet cream - I've never had a drink like it. The next time I come to Denver I am SO coming here for a drink. One of the highly recommended spots in Denver and I was so excited to try it. I can see why it is so popular, they hand whisk each matcha in front of you. Very minimalistic and clean.
