Very fun experience with yummy food (scones, sandwiches, pastries) and a wide selection of teas. Fun place to dress up and go. Employees were kind and attentive. Harpist let us try out the harp. Located in the atrium when one enters the hotel. Would definitely return.

On the expensive side FOR SURE. But the service is great and the ambience makes it worth it. Its absolutely stunning. They either need to give you more and better food or make their prices cheaper.

Came here to enjoy some afternoon tea and had such a wonderful experience! The lobby is grand and elegant and the staff is very welcoming. We had Hiwatt as our waitress and she was kind and knowledgeable. I have a gluten and dairy allergy and she brought me a whole platter of gluten free and vegan pastries! Everything was delicious!

I took my Mom here for a holiday afternoon tea . It was a great experience! We sat in the beautiful atrium where the gigantic chandelier hung overhead. We were served tea and sandwiches right away. I tried their Brown Palace Hotel Christmas spice tea, and my Mom tried their white peach tea; both were delicious! We had scones with the yummy Devonshire Cream, and plenty of cucumber and egg sandwiches. The waitresses were friendly and professional. We'll be back again!

This is the setup for the afternoon tea.

The Brown Palace afternoon tea is such a luxurious afternoon tea! A group of my friends have had a tradition of going for afternoon tea every holiday season (make sure you make reservations ahead of time for the holiday tea). During the pandemic we even purchased afternoon tea to go and had it at each of our homes. I wish they still offered that service! We like to dress up in our finest (with hats sometimes) and spend hours drinking tea and eating the yummy scones, sandwiches and tea treats. I LOVE the Devonshire cream to put on the scones! We like that they bring a second round of sandwiches. It's lovely to have someone playing the piano while you're having your tea. The decorations are so beautiful and elegant during the holidays. I've also been for tea at other times of the year. It's a great place to connect with friends, celebrate something special like Mother's Day or a birthday or just have a time to treat yourself. With the $65 per person for the Classic Afternoon Tea it seems to be more of a special occasion tea. Valet parking is available. The price is hefty at $32, but can be reasonable if split amongst a group.

Regular Afternoon Tea, a Kir Royale, and Butterfly Jasmine Tea before science happened

Afternoon Tea was wonderful. I ordered a regular tea, a kir royale, and butterfly jasmine tea. * delighted giggling * I asked for a few slices of lemon with the butterfly tea. A couple of stirs and it turned from blue to purple! Whee!!! * happy science penguin * I used almost my entire 90-minute reservation. I did get the free refill on the sandwiches. Honestly, I think I would have loved refills on the scones better, even if it was just the regular scone. I saved the chocolate truffle for last and actually didn't finish it ... it was really rich.

My daughter hosted me for Afternoon Tea at the Brown Palace Hotel. What a lovely treat. The Hotel is a landmark of history in Denver. My parents stayed there on their honeymoon in 1944! The elegant setting was perfect; our waiter was very fun & attentive. We were each able to order our own pot of tea from a large menu. Traditional finger sandwiches, scones & tiny desserts were brought on a 3-tiered tray with unlimited refills. Servers were dressed nicely; women wore cute fascinates. All in all a lovely celebration of Mother's Day!

Came here for afternoon tea with my family. The seating area is truly beautiful, the service is great, and it is an experience that helps you to connect with your senses and have some quality time with the people you go with. Also a great excuse to wear a fun fancy outfit. The food was good. I am gf and vegetarian and they accommodated me with a separate plate of food I could eat. I very much appreciated this and my food was good. My favorite was the cream and curd for the scones. My family also enjoyed their food. I don't know that any of them enjoyed the turkey sandwiches but that's more of a personal preference. We got 3 tea choices for our table of 5. The tea was good but I think we would have loved the opportunity to try more different teas. Overall my main complaint is the price to food/experience ratio. The basic afternoon tea is about $80 and although I understand there is a premium for the elegance and unique value of the venue, I have had other comparable afternoon/high tea experiences at places in Denver for about half that price.

The food is pretty good but not five star. I do wish they would step up the game a little bit for afternoon tea. But it's always nice. And you of course are paying for the ambience. For a special occasion. It's always fun. It's totally a Denver thing. So great for out-of-town company. Service was excellent perhaps really even more than excellent! Valet is $15 but that's pretty standard.

Always enjoyed the afternoon tea at the historical Brown Palace Hotel, one of the few places in town where the English high tea tradition is still honored along with impeccable service. It was even more so during the holiday season surrounded by splendid festive decorations. The tea selection is wide, but not overwhelming. The flavor is unique and enticing. The pastries were tasteful and delicious. Don't know why the scones were at the bottom plate, followed by finger sandwiches and sweets, instead of in the traditional order of sandwiches, scones and sweets though.

Tried our luck today with a very last minute reservation at the Brown Palace today for holiday tea and we were not disappointed. Holiday tea is a long standing tradition at the Brown Palace that many people come too year over year. Because of this, when the reservations open on June 1st, it can be hard to get a spot. Don't get discouraged. Call and get on the cancellation list and continue to check Open Table. We looked 15 minutes before the reservation started and one opened up. It felt like the stars aligned. The space itself is easily one of the most magical in Denver at Christmas time but the food and drink didn't disappoint either. At $75 a head ($35 for ages six and under) it's not an inexpensive way to spend the day, but it is worth it. Make sure you dress up, many people look like they walked out of a NYC Christmas movie, and you'll want to too.

First time experiencing afternoon tea and this place nailed it. The Brown Hotel is historical and they have afternoon tea down to a science. The pictures are pretty self explanatory. Everything was delicious: finger sandwiches, scones, clotted cream, blackberry jam, Chai tea, mixed drinks, oh my! What an experience and amazing memory with friends.

What a fun afternoon! If you're looking for a special experience please try afternoon tea at The Brown Palace. A group of girlfriends and I spent a wonderful afternoon sipping on champagne and tea while enjoying not only great food but wonderful service and the amazing atmosphere of this place. The dress code ranged from really fancy and beautiful hats to nice summer dresses. The whole experience is fun and special! The only downside was we sat right next to the piano. Don't get me wrong, the music was beautiful and the perfect accompaniment to the whole experience but it just made it hard to carry a conversation. I want to go back!

I got a milk tea here and I think based on the nature of this place, steeped teas and just mixing in milk and creamers, it was much more watered down than getting it at a regular boba place that has that kinda stuff prepared in advance, but if you're getting just straight tea, it's a better match up. My boyfriend got some smoky flavor tea from here and said it was something that's a bit more difficult to get unless you specifically do go to a tea house so that's a bonus. Don't be confused, the building address may be 15th Street, but the stores on the main floor mostly face Platte Street. The tea shop is near the far east end. We visited the day after Valentine's and things were still decorated for the holiday. The staff is very welcoming and we were soon seated after needing a bit of help with the Parkwell Web site. The rules for afternoon tea were quickly explained. Each person receives an individual pot of tea and can order as many different flavors/varieties as they wish to try. A traditional, vertical rack for each couple contains two plates of sandwiches, a plate of scones, and a plate of cookies and petit fours. This is a lot of food. We received three sets of sandwiches including turkey, cucumber, and curried chicken salad plus a bruschetta. These were all delicious, particularly the bruchetta which had a great mix of flavors. I love scones and we received both a strawberry and a traditional one with a plate of ramekins containing jam, clotted cream, and lemon curd. Very authentic and very tasty. Tea service included three timers to ensure the perfect steeping time, a plate on which to place the tea leaf basket after steeping, a strainer for each cup, and a little container to hold the strainer. Just be sure to keep a finger on the tea pot lid when you pour! We were stuffed at this point, so we only nibbled a bit of the chocolate petit four and were given a beautiful box in which to take home the balance of the desserts. We even each received a final cup of tea to go! Service was friendly and efficient. This is a great experience for my fellow lovers of afternoon tea and very authentic. We enjoyed every bit of it. The concept sounded perfect: a traditional three-tiered tray of finger sandwiches and sweets, a plated item like quiche, and bottomless tea over a three-hour reservation. To start with the positives, the staff were kind and polite, and the owner was accommodating when our group size increased closer to the date. The tea was good, and I appreciated that the teapots were kept warm with tea lights. The space itself is charming, and we genuinely enjoyed having time to sit and catch up. The food was delicious, they are amazing cooks. The biggest issue was the timing of the food. In every afternoon tea I have attended, the three-tiered tray is brought out shortly after being seated so guests can graze while enjoying tea. A plated item may follow later, but there is always something to snack on early in the experience. Here, we went almost two full hours without any food at all. The quiches arrived around the two-hour mark, and the three-tiered tray, which is the centerpiece of afternoon tea, did not arrive until about fifteen minutes before our three-hour reservation ended. No one was rushing us out, and we did enjoy being together, but waiting an hour and a half to two hours for any food simply is not reasonable. We were genuinely hungry for the first half of the visit and then suddenly had a large amount of food placed in front of us near the end. Instead of grazing leisurely, we were left trying to eat everything in a short window of time. With a reservation made weeks in advance and only one other small table present, it was surprising that nothing was delivered within the first hour. Even reversing the order and bringing out the tiered tray first would have completely changed the experience. We also received only one three-tiered tray for six people at a price comparable to other Denver tea houses where each guest receives their own. When we asked for boxes to take the remaining items home, we were told they only had paper sleeves. Afternoon tea items are delicate by design, and paper slips are not suitable for transporting layered finger foods without crushing them. Given that the tray was delivered minutes before the reservation ended, proper takeaway containers should have been available. Tea service was steady for much of the visit, but toward the end all three teapots sat empty for about ten to fifteen minutes, and I had to go upstairs to request a refill. This was secondary to the food timing, but it added to the overall sense that pacing and oversight were lacking. I truly wanted this to be a special afternoon, and I appreciate the kindness of the staff and the availability of vegan options. However, afternoon tea should feel thoughtfully paced, with food arriving early enough for guests to graze comfortably. Waiting nearly two hours for any food and then receiving the full tiered tray minutes before the reservation ended does not align with what high tea is meant to be.

This place is not for everyone and that is honestly part of the appeal…read more I came alone and was seated right away, most likely because it is a small space. The hostess or employee sat me down, and I took a seat at the bar. I was immediately given water and a menu, which felt easy and welcoming. This is not a "background music while you catch up" kind of bar. The music is the experience, inspired by Japanese listening bars. The sound is intentional, the vinyl selections feel curated, and the space encourages you to slow down and be present. Located in the Arts District of the Santa Fe neighborhood, ESP HiFi is walk in only, so arriving early is a good idea since it fills up quickly. The menu includes seasonal cocktails, highballs, natural wine, warm drinks, non alcoholic options, and small bites, with tastings focused on Japanese whiskey and mezcal. I had a walnut mezcal based cocktail, and ordered olives and Marcona almonds as a snack, all of which fit the vibe perfectly. They also offer a daily happy hour or "social hour" from 4 to 5pm. It was also fun watching the mixologist seamlessly switch between making drinks and DJing, which added to the experience. Yes, it is dark inside, but that is part of the atmosphere. The staff is not overly talkative, but the music is the whole point here, and that focus feels intentional. It is a popular spot and definitely gives hipster energy, but in a self aware, well executed way. If you are expecting a loud, social cocktail lounge, this is not it. If you appreciate good sound and a focused atmosphere, you will enjoy it. Not trying to please everyone. Just doing its thing and doing it well.

ESP Hi-Fi is *her* - the kind of place that immediately sets the tone…read more Went on a Friday night for a date and everything just clicked. We waited only about 10 minutes to be seated at the bar, which already felt like a small miracle for a weekend night in Denver. The interior is dark, intimate, and beautifully understated - romantic without feeling forced. The music (on vinyl btw) is impeccable and intentionally curated, the kind you actually feel, not just hear. Pair that with an excellent wine selection and you've got a space that's clearly designed for slowing down and being present. No distractions, just great sound, great drinks, and great energy. Easily one of my favorite bars in Denver now. ESP Hi-Fi understands atmosphere, and it shows. Already looking forward to coming back!
