The atmosphere is incredibly well put together, the attention to detail is amazing amongst all of the staff and the overall vibe is something you really just need to experience for yourself. Brooklynne my server especially stood out to me, and her professionalism was on another level. I felt like I was treated with very polished, white-glove-level service while she was still warm, respectful, and genuinely fun to talk to. I couldn't help but notice how well she treated customers around me too and was just blown away! If you're looking for a high level of quality service and knowledge on tea and many other boujee things, she's your girl and this is your spot! I've been to many tea rooms and other high-end spots in Colorado before, and I can honestly say I've never had an experience quite like this. It's a bonus that it's in downtown Golden too! I had never planned a baby shower before, and Shelley was responsive and encouraging, asking all the right questions and offering helpful suggestions along the way. Our guests raved about the assortment of teas (cherry almond was a big hit), finger sandwiches, and pastries. Everyone gushed that it was the best baby shower they'd ever attended. Babe's was the lone low point in an otherwise perfect day in Golden--though the guy behind the counter certainly gave ruining the whole day a valiant effort. I was showing a non-Colorado friend around, and as a serious tea lover she was excited to stop in. The trouble started when she looked at the bagged teas--apparently that was already a problem. While she was still mid-sentence asking about options, he abruptly turned to other customers to see if they needed help instead. Not content with that performance, he then took an impressively long time to make a simple tea to go. Eventually I went back inside to check on it, only to find it sitting half-finished on the counter while he chatted with a nearby table. The final product? A lukewarm cup of tea. I came here for a baby shower for a friend's daughter. Super cute place but what would you expect from Golden? They have at the front a tea and wine room, which yas! I am not a tea person but I am a wine lover. Our waitress was very sweet and helpful so the service is friendly. She answered all of our questions. We had a tray of delicious bites. Loved the scones. I will say the peach tea was lovely and again I am not a tea lover but I really liked that. Overall, great experience with great food and good tea. Have been here before as a guest but specifically want to highlight Babe's as an event venue! I had my dream baby sprinkle at this location and the staff, the venue, and the gorgeous location in Golden made it perfect. We had a planned menu and the whole experience went smoothly and was beautiful. The menu met everyone's dietary needs and all the food and drinks came out in a timely manner. Babe's has a super cute space with plenty of opportunities for photo-ops. My bff and I came here for high tea as she wanted to treat me to a little celebration for my pregnancy! The high tea included two different tea brews and an assortment of sandwiches and desserts. I really enjoyed the curry and cucumber sandwiches! All of the sandwiches were quite tasty. My favorite from the desserts was the blueberry macaron and key lime tart! Both the teas we tried were also yummy. One was a vanilla earl grey and the other was also a stronger brew (closest to coffee) that I really loved. Our server was really sweet and took great care of us. This place was fun! Would definitely come back. Afternoon tea feels like a unique treat and I love this location in Golden. We were able to get out and explore outside of Denver, and came here as we passed by. We came here on a Monday afternoon with no reservation and were able to get seated at a nice table for two. We got a pot of Taiwanese oolong tea, the brown sugar latte I believe, and a couple of snacks a la carte. We didn't spend too much money on this experience and my friend and I had a fantastic time. Vibes are cute, bright, and floral. The London fog macaron was my favorite. It tasted just like the drink - yum. I liked seeing the wide tea selection as well, especially the oolong section! The scone my friend got was really tasty. I had one bite and wanted more! On second thought, I feel like the scone paired better with the tea than my macarons did, even as a macaron fan. This was a special place we frequented for many years. When we went a few weeks ago we noticed the menu had changed. We were surprised and disappointed by it but we decided to just switch up the way we ordered as most of the items we typically order were still available, just in a different format. Unfortunately, the food changed too! My cucumber and chicken salad tea sandwiches were flavorless and mostly bread! Honestly, there was barely anything in them and they were so dry! The delicious sandwiches I've ordered for years were ruined. On top of that, it came with a quiche the size of a large thimble and it was awful! It was burnt and when I tried to bite into it the whole thing just crumbled apart. My friends disliked their sandwiches and quiches too. The only good thing was the tea itself and I'm not going to pay $100 for good tea and bad food. The staff was friendly but that is where the positive experience ended. We even had my nieces bridal shower here. This is a place we will forever miss but we just can't go back. The food has changed and it's not anything we want to have again. Party of 4: 2 Adults 2 Kiddos. Wonderful ambiance. Restaurant is pretty and has several IG ready spots for photos! My DIL booked the afternoon for us to enjoy with the granddaughters. The tea menu selection is plentiful. The tables are on the smaller side so the server suggested selecting only 2 teas to start with so there would be room for everything. No problem. There is also an inviting cocktail menu so my DIL and I both ordered something yummy to complement our tea. The table is set beautifully with everything needed to enjoy a cup of tea and delicious goodies as well. When it was time for our three-tier display of sandwiches, scones, and sweet treats, our server explained what each item was that we would be enjoying. Compared to the other four Tea Rooms I have enjoyed in New York and Los Angeles, the food here at Babe's certainly ranked well. Note that there are two different prices, one for adults and one for children. This is not an inexpensive outing by any means. Remember, there is tip to be added on as well. We've been to the Brown Palace in downtown Denver and of course, being in the Atrium with the live music is very different than this experience. We love Babe's Denver location and were looking forward to seeing their new spot. It didn't disappoint! Great location - right on Golden's main drag. We arrived on a late Saturday morning with no reservation, which happened to be before their holiday parade. Given it was chilly out - and we were willing to sit on their patio - we got a table immediately (great view of the parade) and kept pretty warm with their large heaters. It looked like some bar seats were available as well, no don't lose total hope to get a spot here sans res. We usually do their afternoon tea service but decided to mix it up this time, opting for sandwiches (chicken curry - my favorite! Great portions and delish as usual), scones (seasonal and traditional with the accoutrements, also wins) and 2 pots of tea. Everything was the quality you'd expect from Babe's. The reasons I can't give 5 stars for this visit are twofold: 1) the service wasn't up to snuff; it took a very long time for our tea to arrive and our server wasn't as attentive as we've come to expect from the Denver location and 2) they didn't have any mocktail/non-booze options available besides coffee drinks. I'm currently pregnant and have come to highly value spots catering to their sober customers. Maybe someday! The Denver location remains to be my favorite, but I would still absolutely come back to their Golden spot again. read more

It was a nice morning, with a slight chill. $60 per person for unlimited tea and a tower with two tasting options per person. The jasmine tea was the best, hibiscus not good at all. The cherry almond tea was flavorful and slightly sweet, and the golden rose was bland, hardly any floral notes. The sandwiches were delicious and the sweets meh. Things seemed a bit chaotic, and when we got there it wasn't busy with customers, service seemed slow, yet friendly. Though the food and tea were amazing, the way the restaurant is set up is not. I had a party of 5, and 3 of us were gluten free. This is something they accommodate, and when we made the reservation, we selected ahead of time 3 gluten free teas and 2 regular. Because there was a section to specify, I didn't think I'd have to call. But when we get there (for our reservation at 2:45) they ask if there are any dietary needs. We say we have our 3 gluten free needs, and that's that. We order some delicious tea and catch up, but when 3:30 comes by (45 minutes after our reservation time) and there isn't food, we're a bit concerned. Our waitress assures us that the gluten free scones are in the oven and should be out soon. At this point I was slightly peeved because we did tell them ahead of time of our needs, and usually you want your food WITH your tea for afternoon tea, but it's ok, it happens. But then 3:45 hits and we still haven't received our food (mind you, this is an hour after our reservation time and the reservation is only supposed to be for 90 minutes). Our waitress lets us know that the kitchen team actually missed our ticket, but it's in now. It might be a bit, but she will give us a discount for the wait. We do finally get our food at 4:08 pm (I know because I have a timestamped photo). However, one of our friends had to take hers to go because she head to head out at 4:20 (something we thought would be fine because that's when our 90 minute reservation was supposed to end!). It is lovely, the food was great, and we did have a nice time. Luckily most of our party didn't have a time constraint. But when the bill came out, they gave us 10% off. And yes, this is better than nothing, I do appreciate the acknowledgment of the mistake, but when each meal is $57 and we're here for a birthday celebration, I want to have service fitting the occasion and the price tag. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if I will come back, but the food was good and our server was friendly so it's still at least 3 stars. But keep this in mind if you have allergies. read more

I celebrated my birthday here and had a fantastic time. The afternoon tea service was absolutely delightful. I enjoyed every aspect of what we were served. The curry chicken was my favorite tea sandwich. The seasonal scone was tasty and I enjoyed mixing and matching the lemon curd, clotted cream, and jam in different combinations. The tea menu was incredibly large and unlimited for your time there. We were all taste testing each other's teas and I ended up buying a flavor to take home. The desserts were also lovely and there were 4 options served!! The inside was decorated in a very picturesque manner and added a nice aesthetic to enjoy while sipping my tea. made a reservation for their vegan/gluten free tray of treats. there was some kind of mixup in the kitchen and some of the treats on my tray were not gluten free, so be very careful if you are celiac. They were apologetic but that's a pretty major thing to get wrong. I'm also pretty sure that our server was not aware that vegan and vegetarian are not the same thing, as she told me the lemon curd was vegan but it tasted full of eggs! it took an hour for our food to be served, and we had to chase down our server multiple times to order more tea. they do have a really extensive variety of teas available, and some of the treats were tasty, but others were hard or dry or bland. it's a cute atmosphere and a great concept, but we won't be back. read more

Holiday tea is a tradition with the girls in the family, so we decided to branch out this year, skip our usual place, and try this newer Babes location in Golden. Our server, Emily, told us they've been there around six months. When you walk in, you'll see ample seating space that didn't appear too cramped. Some tea places we've been to, you're elbow to elbow with the tables next to you and behind you. Not too bad here. We got lucky and were seated on a couch and two cushy chairs. Yay! We weren't next to anyone! There were around 80 teas to choose from. We selected white tip oolong, African Rooibos, chocolate chai, and Cocoa cabana. All were amazing! The server described each item on the tiered tray. There were plenty of little sandwiches like cucumber and chicken curry. The mini scones were to die! Served with lemon curd, jam, and Devonshire cream, those were the table favorite. The deserts were fancy, festive, and delicious! We never felt rushed. The atmosphere was lively and chatty, so I'd say perhaps some soft holiday music or the like would have helped drown some of that out. Not a deal breaker. Overall, we really enjoyed our time here. Emily was fantastic! Prepare to pay for the experience, but not as much as the famous and sometimes overhyped Brown, and I find the service to be much better. read more

Happened to be strolling down Washington Street (main) in Golden and noticed that Babe's was open. Such a pleasant surprise and a great atmosphere. We sat on the shaded deck overlooking Clear Creek. While many people here get the tea service with scones and finger sandwiches, my wife and I shared the chicken curry sandwich and the strawberries and scone. I would give 5 stars for ambiance and charm. We loved the teas and the presentation of the tea cakes, etc. However, the bread for the tea sandwiches was a bit dry and our server was inattentive. What was really shocking though (and I've never experienced this at another place) was that while my mother was in process of paying the bill for four guests, a server we had never seen prior to then interrupted us, said "We need your table now, another group is waiting for it" (no polite qualifiers, just those words) and forced us to leave the table while still waiting for the payment process to be completed. At that point we'd been there for 2 hours and received no instructions/reminders from anyone at all on staff about a time limit (back to the inattentive server). It was a very jarring end to an otherwise nice outing for my mother and sisters. Not sure we'll come back here for that reason. If you need to turn tables, give a polite heads up to your paying customers (10-15 min is sufficient) and make sure YOU have done your job to help your guests get on their way. read more

The service is friendly and accommodating, and the food portions combined with the ability to try an unlimited number of teas from their 80 varieties makes it a unique offering at a great price. Really enjoyed the Earl Grey Crème and the Mahal Masala Chai, paired with milk and honey. Tea was served promptly, and the food service was out within 15 minutes. I was very appreciative of my waitress, who identified a dietary restriction I hadn't thought about and quickly made an accommodation. If you decide you would like more of any of the sandwiches or sweets, you can order them à la carte from the menu. Their adjacent shop will feature sandwiches and other grab-and-go items, and is expected to open in a couple of weeks. What a disappointment! We went to Babe's Golden to celebrate my mother-in-laws birthday. There were 6 of us and we were seated in a room for larger parties (I guess). The room is not nicely decorated and has an uninviting atmosphere compared to the main dining room and the outdoor seating area. We seemed to have been forgotten for 10-15 minutes before our server finally came to the table. She was friendly enough but lacked in service, follow up and follow through. She never checked on us or asked if we wanted more tea even when she finally brought the food. I contacted the restaurant through Open Table and received a reply from a hostess saying that a manager would contact me. Never heard a peep. What a shame. This was a total let down. read more
