Overall: Average. Decent cafe place to pop in for something basic. Will be back to try more. Food/drinks: -Apple pie sponge cake. LOVE. It was a sponge cake in bundt cake form topped with a nice layer of heavy whipped cream as the icing and apple pie filling. Not too sweet and felt light despite knowing it probably wasn't. -Veggie quiche. Too plain for my taste. Needs more use of spices/herbs and maybe a little more salt throughout and not just the top layer. The bottom half was completely plain and bland. Crust could've been better if it was buttery and/or flaky to give it better texture. -Gold Digger. Too sweet for me but my partner enjoyed it. He has more of a sweet tooth. -Chai Charger. Also a bit sweet but I had picked sweet over too gingery when asked which I preferred. Otherwise, tasted good. Space: Rustic feel. Has a pleasantly busy cafe ambiance. I like how it's a small business and it feels more personable in there. Service: Quick, polite, and friendly. Price: Average.

Pooped in very quick to grab a latte as the weather had changed outside and I was freezing and needed something warm while we strolled Golden. I opted for the bee and lavender latte as it was sweet and just what I needed. Pricing was typical to what I'd pay back home on the easy coast. The cafe itself was very cute and cozy. Service was friendly and on the slower side.

I'm a fan of Windy Saddle Cafe and will continue to visit. My favorite part is their kid friendliness with their Kids Corral area and kids menu! The food and lattes are good - I recommend the quiches. My gripes: 1) wish the kids area was cleaner, 2) wish the bathrooms were cleaner. This place gets very busy given the great location in downtown Golden. Visiting before 9:30 am on weekends is ideal. They have outside seating and free wifi.

Cutest little cafe that had gluten-free options, yay! I got the breakfast sandwich on GF bread. Was able to get it with turkey sausage or deli turkey instead of bacon. And they did goat cheese instead of cheddar since I cannot do dairy. It was kitchen approved and SO GOOD! It came with a hard cooked egg and I would totally come back and get this again. Also, got coffee with coconut milk and sugar free vanilla, very yummy.

This cafe has definitely left an impression! I love that they offer inside and outside dining, the cafe's vibe, the menu variety (including gluten-free and vegan dishes), and the cute place. The decor from the lights to the menu sign, to the chairs and art is truly unique. The service was unmatched! Both of the employees I interacted with were kind and friendly. They're also one of the only cafes I've been to with a designated children's play area. Definitely a spot worth popping into while in Golden. playroom. Will definitely be my first choice to stop by every time I am in Golden. Highly recommend!

Great little patio . fun rustic decor inside- not like a chain coffee shop. Have some pastries and tasty croissant sandwiches.

Windy Saddle is the cutest little breakfast/lunch spot ! So many delicious plates to choose from - breakfast food, sandwiches, salads, wraps, and more. They have a great coffee selection as well. The staff is extremely friendly and made for a pleasant experience.

Super cute little coffee shop. Indoor and outdoor seating, right on the Main Street of Golden. It was very colorful inside with display of foods and chalkboards covered in different color writing with all the things they have to offer. I ordered an iced pumpkin spice latte, the peach chia pudding, the goat, zucchini quiche, and an apple crumb cake. They had so many options. It was hard to choose. The coffee was good, a little bit stronger than I would have liked for a decaf. I don't know if I would order that one again since there are so many other amazing looking choices. The peach chia pudding was five star. The pudding was a perfect texture and the addition of the peaches was perfect. I would also get the goat cheese, zucchini quiche, a five star rating. A generous portion and very flavorful. The only thing from keeping this from a five star rating is the Apple crumb cake. Not only did it have no flavor, but it was dry and hard as a rock. It looked very good, but I must've gotten an NP and I could not even cut into the back half of it. I would definitely try another bakery item next time because they had some incredible looking pies, but I would stay away from the crumb cakes.

    Mugs available.

Parking was limited, and it is way awkward to get in and out with a car. We got the "fiona" (a mango-kiwi dessert), a "scarlett" (raspberry chocolate dessert), berry-licious croissant tart, and a lemon madeleine. The "fiona" was perfectly balanced with a solid mango and kiwi flavor coming through. It had creamy component, a cake component, and a fruit component with a glaze. Not too sweet, but certainly sweet enough to satisfy a sweet tooth craving. The "scarlett" was intensely raspberry in the mousse component. The raspberry jam on top brought the sweetness to temper the tartness of the mousse, and the chocolate cake and chocolate cookie components also balanced out the dessert with a nice natural bittersweet from the cocoa component. The fruit croissant tart had nice fruit on it, and the cream component reads like a yogurt. The croissant part itself was very tasty and makes me excited to try their original butter croissant next time. And finally, the Madeleine was very impressive. I am not a fan of frosting-like stuff on Madeleines, but this worked so well because it was not too sweet. Very balanced flavors, yet again, with some of that natural bitterness again that contrasts so excellently with the flavors. If I could only use key words to describe their desserts, it would be: beautiful, balanced, complex, and natural. I won't be able to come here often due to how far away I live from here, but I know that I will be back.

We finally decided to check out the shopping and dining district. Rheinlander was our final (and best!) stop. The bakery dates back to 1963 and is now on the third generation of ownership. The quality is certainly being maintained at a high level. This is a traditional, German bakery with a huge variety of authentic European cakes, cupcakes, sweet and savory pastries, pies, cookies, coffee cakes, and the only reason I think a German bakery should exist--strudel! Strudels are available whole, half, or by the slice. The usual flavors are apple, cherry, blueberry cream cheese, cherry cream cheese, and Boston cream. We bought slices of the apple, cherry, and blueberry cream cheese. These were perfection and absolutely delightful. I was totally focused on the strudel case (yes, there's a lot of strudel on offer), but I believe there are eight huge cases of treats, each one looking more enticing than the next. Quite a few gluten-free, sugar-free, and dairy-free options are available, so if that's what you need, this is the place for you. The bakery was moderately busy during our visit. There was plenty of staff and they were all friendly, helpful, and very efficient, so purchases moved swiftly. Lots of coffee and drink options are available. There's nice outside seating if you can't wait to take your goodies home. It's a long drive for us, but we were really impressed and we'll find a reason to visit Arvada so we can stop back soon. Yum.
