Grand Atrium

Had Afternoon Tea at the Brown Palace Grand Atrium room. The venue is stunning and when got there they were alittle behind schedule so we walk around, explored, and then they seated us about 20-25 minutes after our reservation. I have been to a couple of other afternoon tea events so I understood the general flow but I do think they could have done a better job of explaining. I was not aware that once you picked a tea that was the only tea you were going to get throughout the entire event. I would have thought you got to pick other teas to try later. Additionally, they just give you a little pot with tea leafs and continuously refill it with hot water so by the end your tea is very diluted which I didn't not like and for $70 I would like to not drink diluted tea. The scones and sandwiches were delicious and they do refill the sandwiches. They portion the food for how many people you go with. Overall, I think it was a fun experience but I would not feel the need to go again and I wouldn't necessarily suggest it to other

*CELIAC / GLUTEN FREE REVIEW I had high tea here and it was a great experience! Before ordering, the waiter asked about any allergies, and when I said I had celiac disease he said that it's super common and they have great precautions put in place. My entire plate of goodies was brought out separate from the main "tower" of glutenous items. Everything was great and I didn't feel like I was missing out in the slightest because of my disease. I did not get sick and it was a wonderful experience!

It's definitely worth the experience once. After that, I think it's way overpriced. My girlfriends and I each brought pastries from our favorite bakeries and went to a host's house where she served tea, it was a much more scrumptious event. The teas were ok, I have access to better green teas at home. Don't really care for English and/or fruity tea. The English finger sandwiches are delicate and refreshing. Scones are filling and desserts are dainty and pretty. Certain items were refillable so you definitely won't leave feeling hungry. But you'll also have to order 4 towers and consume it all in order for it to be money well spent! The pianist was nice and certainly upped the ambience for us. Strolling around in the historic hotel was also a great! Service was very polite!

The teas are amazing, the scones are pretty good, the sandwiches are meh, the baked section was not great. But the experience, ambiance and piano are what it's really all about. No the food is not amazing or even super special. It's ok. The experience that this crafts is worth the price tag. I do recommend this with reasonable expectations. British folks aren't known for their food. My sister cracked me up about the consistency of scones-as she had not had one prior to this experience. At least she's off my ass now about visiting London! Lol Piano player was great even gave us some Billy Joel.

Came here with some friends for the "SwiftTea" experience and I am sad to say I was very disappointed, especially given the price tag. There was a lot of potential here, but the only Taylor Swift-centric incorporations were some sparkly looking cookies and Taylor Swift themed trivia - which the MC took so long to get the results back we had already finished our 90-minute reservation and had to loiter in the lobby to hear the answers. Awkward. Food was tasty but no better than other afternoon tea spots around Denver. The tea selection was very disappointing. They had a decent handful of options, but you were only allowed to choose one and had to stick with it the entire time. This is not how afternoon tea should work. The building is very unique and there is a lot to look at given it's history, but be warned that parking is a bit of a nightmare - I personally took a Lyft. On the whole... Don't waste your time or your money coming here, regardless of how fun the theme seems.

I had high expectations for the tea service at this location and price point. I went with a group of close to 20 people for a celebration. We were told to choose 4 teas for the table. Very reasonable request and people were able to try different teas. The teas themselves were great. We enjoyed Darjeeling, mango, and floral bouquet. The food itself was somewhat lacking. We had 2 options of scones, 3 types of tea sandwiches and 3 different sweets. They were all good but nothing blew our minds. The presentation was very typical and nothing to wow. The service was polite and adequate but also nothing amazing. The space itself was architecturally nice but given the sheer volume of people milling about on a weekend and guests checking in and out - not a very cozy or peaceful environment.

Second time here and I must say food is inconsistent. In comparison to my first visit ... tea was great, scones were ok, sandwiches were worse while sweet items were inedible to me. Certainly not worth the high cost for this experience. Won't return. Our waitress was lovely though. I also think that at almost $200 per 2 people at least valet should be discounted . Over $30 for valet parking is steep.

This was like a dream! We had just seen the western museum of art across the street . We had no idea tea was served daily when we stepped in looking for lunch. We have had tea at the empress Victoria annually for ten years, and locally at the tea House in Los Rios many many times. This was better! The scones were excellent consistency, the sandwiches delicious and an extra plate of them was free. The desserts were delicious! Add the live piano music, the being given a table as walk ins without reservations, and the most excellent service from Hiwat Z....the result was tears of joy at the corners of my eyes the whole time. Thank you for making our year!!

Always a treat! The annual holiday ritual of having high tea is one I will always enjoy. It's silly. It's extravagant. It's a taste of a bygone era that I hope never goes a way. First there is the schedule. Think at least 1 year in advance if not a tad farther out for prime holiday tea times. They do have a wait list should you be able to shift plans on short notice when they have same day cancellations. Hosted in the lobby of the historic Brown Palace, this is filled with fun, finery and holiday cheer. I have honestly never been any other time of the year. Choose your tea. Maybe add some champagne and then sit back and let the pampering begin. There is a protocol around tea that adds to the experience. The tower of sandwiches is soooooo goood. Scones are so good. We bought extra to take home. The sandwiches are delicious and you can get one plate of extras at no charge. The sweets on top are so good. I love the fine linens. The China. The pomp and circumstance is a fun change to the norm. The price is extravagant. Expect to pay $75-100pp by the time you hustle out the door. Generally you have a two hour window to enjoy before they seat the next group. It's an old world experience that is worth the $$ and time.

I think 4 stars is accurate. Made a reservation for a party of six, a week prior. Called a few days prior to change my reservation to two people. The concierge did not answer. I left a voice message with my updates. The host was not informed of my updates when we arrived. I wasn't surprised after briefly speaking with the concierge in person. One was nice and the other was very average. We parked across the street and spent $20 on parking. We had a 11am reservation. They had valets, but the one way roads made it difficult to get to them. The host working on 1/11/2024 was awesome. Between her and the piano player... they represented in a first class manner. They both deserve to be recognized. The service from the servers was average / par. The host deserves to level up and become a server. The ambiance was outstanding. The presentation was superb. The food and the tea were delicious. I believe the food is endless. One of the servers brought us a second plate and dropped it abruptly on top of a previous plate. The tea and food was $75 per person with the current decorations up. The price would have been more with champagne. Personally, I would never want to come back for this service. My wife however absolutely loves it. And that's why we arrived for her birthday. The piano player played her a birthday song on the piano. That was an awesome touch with a birthday cupcake and candle they brought out. I was happy to put some money in his tip jar. He was awesome. We left feeling full and they put some remaining items in a takeout container. I'm happy for the experience. We will have a cool video for our YouTube channel. I just think we could have done something better for over $200. It was a cold day outside. Maybe the weather brought down some of the energy of part of the staff. I did have higher expectations. It's these little moments when someone can go above and beyond. The host complimented my shirt upon arrival. The host sat us near the piano. She spoke with a kind heart. The servers appeared more focused on upselling and getting the job done. They did not attempt to wow the guests. The concierge also appeared to be tired / burnt out.

The high tea food, was very nice and quite delicious. (we have been here on several occasions for High Tea) The ambience. Was what you would expect from the brown Palace. (Nice) And the service was actually really good. My only comment would be the floor was a mess. You'd expect a little more from the Brown Palace. Even Applebee's can afford to run a Buster.

The Brown Palace is an amazing place to visit overall! We had a great time as our kids booked us an Afternoon Tea at the Brown session. This is pricy but a great experience. You get choice a selected tea of your choice accompanied by homemade scones with Devoshire cream, preserves, finger sandwiches & an exquisite selection of classic tea pastries. Fine dining and a splash of something you would ordinarily not do! A very nice treat yourself too! We went to the Ship bar after relaxing a bit. Nice place but bartender was a bit rude, but also overwhelmed with the customers. So that was only ding. We did return to the same bar before midnight for a night cap and it was a whole better experience. This is definitely a must visit to do list for anyone. It's rich history and plush decor and ambiance is totally amazing. An iconic Denver landmark.

Afternoon tea set

The classiest high tea in town. Call ahead to reserve. The booking process was smooth and they give you a courtesy call about a week beforehand as a reminder. There are two tea options, the standard which comes with one pot of tea and a tea set and the champagne option for $5 more which includes a glass of bubbly and a truffle. We opted for the OG and enjoyed everything-- my friend ordered blue jasmine green which is a fragrant jasmine green colored a pretty blue with pea flower. I tried the pu'er bordeoux which was flavored with subtle hints of fig and blackberry The tea set was lovely, including a bright tart lemon curd to go with the scones. The sandwiches were-- the egg salad and cream cheese were better than the cucumber and tuna as the latter two were somewhat dry. The desserts included a cinnamon numteg custard tart, a raspberry pistachio cheesecake, a raspberry thumbprint cookie and a peppermint cheesecake. All were good except the peppermint cheesecake, which literally had the taste and texture of a tube of toothpaste. Service was attentive, and we enjoyed the pianist's playing-- which for the afternoon we went included a solid Disney princess repertoire

I also tried the bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich on an English muffin. This was the only disappointing part of my visit. It seemed like a premade sandwich that had been reheated, so the bacon was soft rather than crispy, which is my preference. We always like to scope out the best coffee spots ahead of time. Little Owl did not disappoint! First, it's always difficult to find ceremonial grade Matcha wherever you go. Most of the time it's Matcha mixed with a bunch of other stuff and at best it's culinary grade. The Matcha here was vibrant in color, smooth and slightly nutty. I elected to sweeten it with simple syrup and had it Americano. My husband opted for a vanilla latte with oat milk and while we've stopped at several places so far, this is the best latte we've had on our roadtrip. They make all of their syrups in house and the coffee was smooth and not bitter. The cafe is small and quaint. It does open up into a larger building with additional seating.
