Only good things to say about Hooked ! We've been here a few times after dropping our bikes off next door to get worked on (Z Cycle is also a great local shop I'd recommend) and each visit has been grand. Good coffee with a decent variety (I really like their mocha with chocolate made in-house), lots of tasty teas, and even ample Italian soda options - one my favorite beverages! Passionfruit is my go-to there. They have mugs/glasses if you're staying put for a while; I always appreciate spots that minimize single use plastic. They also offer some baked goods and delicious burritos -- spinach mushroom was . Prices are reasonable for everything on the menu. We haven't gotten any boozey drinks yet, but they offer a good smattering plus kombucha on tap (mmm) and I have a feeling the cocktails will be on point. In addition to selling food and drink, they've got a fun selection of artsy stuff for purchase - from cute cards to baby clothes and even a few good wines. Lots to look at while you're waiting for your order. Lastly, the space is varied and caters to all kinds of customers. The main floor has smaller tables, counter spots and booths, the latter of which are usually claimed. They also have a nice patio space and our personal favorite - a spacious downstairs with differing sized tables that can cater to larger book groups or those wanting to get work done (yes, they have outlets). I have been frequenting this place for a couple years now when my kiddo has a camp in the area and I need a place to work while I wait. They have a really nice work space with many large tables to spread out on with nearby outlets on one side of the basement. The other side of the basement is more of a lounge space with a very chill comfy vibe. Upstairs is more traditional seating with a small patio sitting on Colfax. There's nothing to dislike about the space or the menu. Coffee is good, snacks are plentiful. Now let's talk about the staff. Maybe it's just me, but every time I am in there the vibe I get from staff is they can't be bothered. It feels like hipster bro time and if you're not cool enough they can't wait to push you through. They are always talking with some other bro at the bar almost ignoring the person in front of them. I've never been greeted in a way that makes me feel welcomed or appreciated for my patronage. That said I will return because it's a nice space to work and I could care less about the people working behind the bar, but if the staff was more friendly to everyone it would raise this place to next level. read more

Like others have said, the service and quality can be pretty hit or miss. On this trip, the service was a bit of a miss. We were ignored for a while and then the barista wasn't the most friendly. Found this gem while waiting for brunch at Denver Biscuit. Literally a couple shops down so decided to grab a cup of drink and chit chat with the friends. This place is super covid friendly, they have both outdoor and indoor (with doors and windows propped open) seating available. Also, it's pet friendly! I got to try the mocha 8oz and a Bhakti chai in 12oz. The mocha was pretty strong (it kept me up all night!) and the chai has a strong tea flavor but really tasty. Of the two, I would recommend the chai. The aesthetics of this place is super cute and has very laidback and chill vibes. There's actually 2 parts to their shop, the other side from their register is more of a study/lounge area. There's high tables with stools and low booth tables. Parking can be a bit difficult to find for this area due to Denver Biscuit being such a popular and highly rated brunch spot. read more

That Stout Though This place is awesome!! This is the perfect spot to hang out with friends while enjoying coffee, tea, pastries, or even a beer. I had one of their stouts and it was the best thing ever!! Way better than Guinness. The layout is quite interesting. There are two elongated sides, each with stairways that lead to more intimate rooms. Those rooms are usually reserved for meetup groups and the like. Parking is a biach. Stopped by here on a Saturday afternoon around noon while waiting to have brunch at a nearby restaurant and I am so happy I did! I ordered a 8oz almond milk latte to go and oh my gosh, it is AMAZING. It's silky and milky with the perfect tint of espresso coffee and foam with pretty latte art on top. I may go as far as to say it's one of the best almond milk lattes I've ever had!! Lots of seating area - booths, tables, and stools to study, catch up with a friend, or scroll on your phone (WiFi is free!) I'm from LA and have been to so many places, including intelligentsia, urth caffe, GREENDOOR Powered by Intelligentsia and all the coffee places up and down Westwood and this place is so good!! This was recommended by our Airbnb host. We came in for breakfast on a Tuesday morning and there was plenty of seating. I ordered the bacon burrito and an americano and husband got an egg sandwich (added bacon-duh) and a drip coffee. His sandwich looked great and he said it tasted great. My burrito was very soggy and wouldn't hold together. I think it's because I'm used to breakfast burritos being grilled to hold the fillings together and this was microwaved. Only other negative was how far apart our breakfasts came out. I was almost finished by the time his food was delivered. There were lots of people working and it looked like a great place to just hang out. Lots of gluten free options, vegan options, and even beer. Hooked on Colfax is a quaint little coffe shop tucked just off Colfax Ave. Walking in I was struck by the warmth of it. Not the temperature but the feeling that everyone working there was happy and proud to be there. They had a delicious assortment of pastries ans excellent coffee. I had a mocha and since I wasn't in a hurry they served it to me in a beautiful black cermaic mug with saucer. This is not Starbucks and they are not cranking these coffees out. That attention to detail comes forward in the taste. Vibe & delectable coffee aside, it has a few booths and lots of bar type seating for those who are enjoying their coffee in solitude.
