This place is amazing. You can tell they put a lot of love & soul into their food. I'm not a huge beef eater so I always get chicken pho & Le Emperor has the absolute BEST chicken pho in all of Houston. The chicken wasn't bland or dry. It was juicy, tender, and flavorful. Could taste the aromatics in the chicken, too. The broth was also very good and they had my favorite kind of rice noodles, the super thin ones. They have complementary creme brûlée spoons and it was also the best creme brûlée I've ever had. The custard was ultra smooth and velvety and perfectly sweet. It was not runny or eggy or clumpy at all. We joked about how if they had given us those spoons before offering us dessert we would not have been able to refuse the offer on a full portion. I will also note that I have celiac disease and felt comfortable here and did not react. The server seemed decently informed on allergies which is not common in Vietnamese restaurants and I was grateful for. My only complaint is that we got 2 coconut juices and they must make theirs fresh because it didn't taste the same as everywhere else and it also does come in a coconut and was less sweet and less nutty. I wasn't a huge fan of it but also 1 of the coconuts didn't look like it was healthy or good. The flesh was starting to purple a bit and was a tad mushy. We decided not to bring it up cause it was Christmas Day and we just didn't feel like making a fuss. I would simply not order it here in the future but you bet we will be returning. Definitely my first pick for Vietnamese from here on out! I actually feel comfortable asking if their pork vermicelli bowl is gluten free and will adventure more next time. This place was amazing! It's in a small run down shopping center, but don't let that fool you, the food is soooo good! The inside of the restaurant is very clean and quaint and the decor and staff transport you to a different country! They pay close attention to details which you can tell in every aspect of the experience here. It is dimly lit but the menus illuminate when you open them. It was just me and my son, but we had the artichoke appetizer, pho, chicken nuggets and we tried 2 different desserts, the crème brûlée and coconut ice cream. The artichokes were lightly fried and tasted so fresh with a squeeze of lemon! The pho was brought table side where the broth was poured on for us to watch! It tasted very fresh and was a huge portion! The desserts were both very good, not too sweet! My son loved his chicken nuggets and fries as well, the fries were crispy and perfectly cooked! I was feeling the need for Pho and to my delight, not only was the bowl of comforting goodness so delicious, it was served table side where our server poured the broth right into the bowl. While it may seem like a simple thing, this gesture guaranteed that my soup was piping hot, un-spilled, and maintained the servers' safety when delivering it to my table. The highlight of the evening was the mango sticky rice dessert! Creamy, sticky, sweet, and warm, this dessert was decadent in all of the right ways as it was served with 5 slices of ripe mango. A must order is the rice crackers if you're British, you'll know what they are, they're prawn crackers haven't seen them in Texas ever. For appetizers we ordered the spring rolls and the meatballs. The presentation was beautiful and very well done. But what really knocked the presentation out of the park was the flavor. It was so full of flavor and tasted amazing. For dinner my father and I ordered the pork vermicelli bowl. Literally mouth watering, the pork and such an amazing flavor and the dish was very filling and refreshing. My mother got the le emperor pho, which was amazing and very filling. The bowl holds so much we had to take about half of it home. For dessert we ordered the mango sticky rice, coconut bourbon ice cream, and the banana flambé. The mango sticky rice was so delicious, it wasn't too sweet at all and the mango gave it this really nice freshness. The coconut ice cream tasted so good and we couldn't get enough if it, and the banana flambé was super yummy. The vanilla that comes paired with it was so rich. In-between our appetizers and dinner we got the hibiscus hot tea they have and it has such a nice unique taste and we also learned that it's a type of Indian tea the one of the owners brought back after visiting. The service was also Devine. Everyone was so nice and very on top of everything. If you see this place you should definitely check it out.
