We had been dying to eat here. My husband is Vietnamese so we love a good Asian restaurant. It said fine dining and it had an extensive menu. We ordered our food and halfway thru the meal there was a roach on the table walking around. For the price I would like my food minus the roach. Where there is one there is more. I can't believe it took us this long to find this place. It's so nondescript from the outside, we had no idea it was Vietnamese. Our favorite Vietnamese restaurant is downtown so we checked Yelp for somewhere local and saw the great reviews for Le Emperor so decided to try it out. It did not disappoint. We had the pork meatballs and Le Emperor spring rolls to start, both of which were delicious and full of flavor. We went with simple chicken vermicelli and shrimp vermicelli for our main dishes and they were tasty. Ambience was lovely and service was great. We will definitely be back. Very clean and welcoming my staff right when you walk in the door to when you walk out. They do have lighted menus which is a little bright for me but makes sense with how dark the restaurant is. Food was flavorful and had a few unique twist. One draw back was the meat, while tender, probably needed to be cooked 45 seconds less. The flavor was also closer to a magnolia beef than the shaking beef I typically encounter. Also think the complementary spoon of cream brûlée was a great touch. I hope they see success. It's definitely on the pricy end so won't be back too often but it's worth trying out. read more

This newish restaurant is in the same location as the now closed Crave Bistro. Now, it is another highly rated place. Hopefully, this one will last longer. They have lighted menus, at least in the evening when it's dark outside. Some interesting drinks they serve you don't see on many vietnamese restaurant menus are mocktalls and fresh cinnamon iced tea. The fresh fish immediately caught my attention. We ordered the le emperor sandwich, kids chicken plate, whole fried snapper, and banana flambe. The snapper - fried to order. Takes around 20 mins, kinda small, but can share between 2 people. I wasn't a big fan of their tamarind sauce, partly because it was runny, and I prefer a sweet, thicker thai style sauce, but that is just me. Brisket sandwich - the least-liked dish ....but I wouldn't recommend anyone to order brisket on a sandwich at vietnamese restaurants, period. It belongs in soups at these places. Brisket was twice-cooked to give it crispness, but it was too dry for a sandwich. Kids chicken plate - pretty standard, hard to mess up this dish. Banana flambee - great dessert flambeed on the table using their homemade coconut milk. A really good dish, if you like bananas, coconut or ice cream, or all 3 like me. One caveat is when the fire is lit, the paper umbrella on the plate for presentation can catch fire if the air is blowing in the right direction, like ours did. Bonus dessert (creme brulee) - this was complimentary and came with 4 spoons. I think if purchased, it normally comes with 6. It's pretty standard creme brulee on a spoon. I liked it, though. Overall, I like the place. They haven't done a whole lot to change from the previous interior. They brought in some new furniture, including hand-painting the mural on the back wall....but many colors are the same as the previous cajun restaurant. The prices aren't outrageous for the taste, quality, and service you receive, but they're not cheap either. read more

Wow! Just wow! From the moment you are warmly greeted when you walk in to your last bite of delicious lime cake, you are in awe of this beautiful restaurant. The atmosphere is bright yet cozy. The server (the owner's spouse) sat us and made us feel welcome from the start. Her husband came by to highlight a few items from their menu. We ordered based on his recommendations--and we were NOT disappointed! We started with beautiful and delicious spring rolls with fresh peanut sauce. I ordered the Shaking Beef as my entree and my friend ordered the Walnut Shrimp and she absolutely LOVED it. For dessert (even though we were stuffed), we shared a slice of the Lemon Cake! Yummo! We were even gifted complimentary Creme Brulee spoons. Oh my goodness, it was all so heavenly. And the couple was just amazing! I'd been hearing about this little gem on Facebook Foodies page. Wait list reservation did not resolve so I was looking for an alternative close to home. The couple we'd invited, had already heard rave reviews - so despite the change we'd 100% on board. It's a smaller restaurant that had a bustling number of diners did not have wait due to our fairly early arrival. Perfect! We all ordered different dishes and, being new to all, tried each-other's entrees. The toast duck was lovely and well cooked. I he walnut shrimp were very crispy & good (this dish has had a track record of either being amazing or horribly lacking in my experience- depends on the restaurant & as noted, these are worthy). But what really set it apart was how incredibly delightful the waiter was. He had us all feeling pampered and a little giggly. And, oddly, I loved the backlit menus. Just perfect - kept the mood of the dimmed lights without causing all of us to pull out our phones to see. Delightful - so good Cypress and keep this one open! read more

It is not your typical Vietnamese restaurant. Just because it looks nice and the service was impeccable, does not mean it lacked in quality of food. You can tell the authentic flavors in it that reminds me of what my family would make. It was really made with a lot of care and love. Drinks - we ordered mango and strawberry teas. Both were really refreshing. They do have a pretty good selection of wine and beer. Spring rolls (pork) - comes in 4. They are pretty large size and it tasted as if it was rolled made to order. Really fresh. Ginger fish soup - honestly this was my favorite. Could be because I've been craving this for awhile. Portion is good for 2 to share as a light app or large enough for 1 as a heavier app. The flavoring of this is AMAZING. They really did not sacrifice the original Vietnamese flavoring to be more "Americanized" like other restaurants. The pineapple gives it that sweet/sour taste and the jalapeños gives it a nice aroma and flavor. Le EMPEROR SHAKING BEEF - VLOTUS BÒ LÚC LẮC - the beef tenderloin was SUPER tender and holds lots of flavors. We substituted the white rice for fried rice. Hubs usually never eat the veggies that came with it, but he truly cleared his plate. SPICY BEEF LEMONGRASS - BÒ XÀO SẢ ỚT - so much flavors. This would also be really good as a lettuce wrap too. Fried rice - had to make its own little section. It was the FLUFFIEST fried rice I've ever had. It was not dried out and still had a lot of flavors. Service - we had AMAZING service. Super attentive and very personable. Other Vietnamese restaurants, they give you everything so you can go in and out. You won't even have a clue who you talked to. Here, they time your food so you can enjoy yourself and the atmosphere, without feeling rushed. Though they just opened, we can already see that they had regulars come in. Was referred to this little family owned restaurant by a friend from church; she said that it's fairly new in the neighborhood and it's really good. So we decided to trust her judgment and check it out for ourselves. Everything was superb from the moment we walked into this beautiful little bistro that's both cozy and inviting. The young lady and gentlemen who took care of the service were both so authentically kind and appreciative that we stopped in for a meal and it was our first time there. They showed us the very modern backlit drink menu and we started our meal with the popular go-to for Vietnamese restaurants, Cha Gio and Goi Guon, and both were beautifully prepared & presented and tasted very fresh & good. Next up was the pho, went with the Le Emperor and wife with the ramen style, and again, both were delicious but how they presented it was awesome and unique. They brought out the bowls with the contents within them but the broth was kept in a special thermos that kept the broth piping hot before carefully pouring it into each bowl - what a special presentation for such a staple of Vietnamese cuisine! When we finished our meal, we both knew we'll be adding Le Emperor into our weekly rotation of favorite family-owned restaurants. It checked all the boxes for what one looks for with dining out: good food, fair prices, nice atmosphere and superb service, kindness and hospitality you only get from small businesses.
