The workers were friendly and the environment is bright with some seats inside and outside. The burger was just ok. I feel like something was missing, like a sauce or mayo. Having taken a rather LONG time to build a very...unique building the entire neighborhood was abuzz with the opening of PTerry's. We waited for the grand opening to die down and make our way to sample the fares. Trying a new burger joint is a crucible with me. I start with the lowest common denominator. Cheeseburger and fries kids. Upon arrival there are 2 lanes. Outstanding for a large amount of traffic which at 6:37 PM (I am nothing if not a dork) we arrived and made our first order. Mine was the reg Cheeseburger, no lettuce, no tomato, add onions and pickles. Side of "fries". I usually customize at a fast food place to ensure a fresh made delivery, but again, for the first venture into the unknown, I adjust for the lowest common denominator. Failing to get this right is like trying to tie your shoe with both hands tied behind your back. In the dark. Darkness fell. Our lane had 2 cars in front of us. No problem correct? Problem. We waited. And as we waited for the 2 vehicles in front of us to get their food. No less than 5...yes...5 cars that came in the lane adjacent to us had come in AFTER us...gotten their food...and left BEFORE we even got to the window to pay. I was now weary. 1 vehicle was handed 4 bags of food. I get it. You ordered for a crew. Have them pull out of the lane and spot them while continuing to carry on with additional orders. Not sure if this is policy, or inexperience in industry methods. Anyway... Fortunately, Abraham greeted us at the window. A delightful young man. He greeted both me and my wife with a huge smile courtesy and even called my wife "ma'am". His parents dun good. Spotting the doggy cookies in a jar, I inquired if I may take one home for my monster king shepherd. He didn't blink an eye and grabbed one for the pup and even took time to ask questions about her. Great young man and great service, Abraham. Get a raise already. The food. Well...this is the interesting part...I don't have much to write. My wife and I actually discussed it...and for the first time...we were blank. It was just...an hamburger...from a fast food restaurant. Obviously not a "fresh cooked patty" as the experience cook can spot the dry marks of a cracked piece of ground that has been sitting there...I got plenty of pickles...about ¼ teaspoon of this "special sauce" and literally counted...4 yes...4 little squares of diced onion. I literally made my wife count them to confirm 4 little squares. No problem. With my knife skills I chopped up some at home to add on after the initial taste. Generic Sysco bun. That's literally it. It was just an fast food cheeseburger. Beats the snot out of Micky Dee's and Burger Kang, but falls short of Wendy's. My wife noted if she were caught short and just needed something for the kids...she would stop here after grocery shopping. But not a making a special trip saying "Damn...I'm CRAVING P Terry's". It was just an fast food burger. Couldn't taste the "special sauce" (mayo, ketchup, pickle juice/vinegar, salt) at all. Fries. Don't bother. They are flaccid par-cooked potato sticks with no browning or salt. 80% went in the bin. Sadly...this DID fall WAY short of Micky Dee's. Back to back taste test of the "Pterry's ketchup"...90% sure it is repackaged Heinz. Which is not a bad thing as Heinz is the superior ketchup to all ketchup. We both agreed Wendy's has a better burger and DEFINITELY better fries. But for $11 it is priced well. Just hope this location does not fold. The building is made out of solid concrete, thus the year long build and uglier than sin. Also if you have a big truck. Take the outside line or you will be hopping the curb. Someone didn't measure. Welp. I take back paragraph 6 in hindsight. I did have a lot to say...without really saying anything. This review is like that person you talk to next to the hotel bar on a business trip. You can do it for hours...and not remember a damn thing they said. Wait...did I just simile and metaphor at the same time? TLDR time kids!!! Location? It is close. It is an eye sore. And it is built like a concrete s**thouse. Meh. Staff? Amazing. Abraham, Looking at you my friend. Well done young man. Food? Utterly forgettable. At least it was reasonably priced to ingest calories when I do not feel like cooking...THERE!!! I'm so glad there's a P. Terry's in the area!! I've been here a few times since it's opened and my first visit was amazing! I ordered a plain bacon cheeseburger and it was fresh, well seasoned and the fries were delicious! I even had an Arnold Palmer that was pretty good with the fresh lemon! My second visit tasted like an entire different restaurant. It was bland, the bread seemed extra thick this day and they put a tiny amount of grilled onions on there. The way the burger was so bland it needed extra onions. It just wasn't good. I tried the banana bread today which I thought was good for the price! It's moist, sweet and doesn't have an artificial banana flavor. I'm not the biggest fan of whole wheat flour but if you do, I think you'll really like the banana bread. I'm not writing P. Terry's off just yet because I did have a great experience on my first visit and there's still more items I want to try. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt because on my first two visits there were some hiccups but I know they're still trying to get adjusted as they just opened. Also the prices are outstandingly affordable, so I'm looking forward to hopefully updating this review with a better experience!! read more

I heard this place is really good so I finally stopped by after grocery shopping. I went through the drive thru which was very busy but the lane I was in went pretty fast for the amount of people on the line. I will say the food needs to be eaten hot and it gets cold quickly so even if you do drive-thru find a spot and eat in your car. I wish the fries were crispier. The burger was nicely seasoned and I added grilled onions but they reminded me of White Castle onions so it threw me off. Next time I go I will add jalapeños and maybe onions but not grilled. read more

We had the chance to attend the friends & family event for the new P. Terry's Burger Stand location today, and we are already so excited for it to officially open! We ordered a #2 (cheeseburger combo) and two #3s (double cheeseburger combos), and everything was fresh, hot, and exactly what you want from a good burger spot. The burgers were juicy, the fries were perfectly cooked, and the service was friendly and running smoothly--even during an event. You can tell this location is going to be a great addition to the area. It's always exciting to have another solid, go-to spot for a quick and reliable meal, and this one definitely delivers. They cook everything to order meaning that ticket times can easy be 3 to 12 minutes depending on the order. Order the double cheeseburger and chicken burger with the fries. The fries are not super salty and cut fresh. The chicken burger is shaped like a patty, it wasn't dry and coated had a nice crunch on it but it lacked seasoning/flavor. Have really enjoyed this place. It was busy when it first opened and service was slow but I've been several times since and it's gotten better. The food seems to be consistent in quality. I have yet to receive anything subpar. I really like their fries. Their shakes are also really good, my favorite being strawberry. I think price point it just right, and I really like the atmosphere. The workers seem to always be keeping tables clean when we go. Would highly recommend trying! read more

Still working out the first week kinks but overall it was a good experience! The drive thru line was very long on a Friday night which we expected. It did take a long time but again, first week so understandable. The order was accurate, they double checked it with two different people. Cheeseburger was cooked perfectly and nice and hot. I enjoyed the fries, they were a mix of soggy and crispy. We shared two orders between four people and it was the perfect amount. They have yummy oatmeal chocolate chip cookies for $1 as well. I was in Austin for about 5 years in the early 2000's and p terrys was the spot! The burgers were amazing! Even after I left, I still made it a point to stop into pterrys when I was in town! So, I was pretty excited to see pterrys pop up in Houston. I've tried 2 locations now in Houston and all I taste is "in and out" burgers. Except the fries at pterrys are better. I'm just baffled with how much the burger has changed. The chicken bites were disgusting. The oatmeal cookie was great! The staff was super friendly and kept the line moving as fast as they could. I was impressed with how fast everything kept moving. Great staff! I'm also glad they didn't change the look of the place. I always loved how pterrys brings back that old school hamburger spot vibe. The burger meat is hot when it comes out and it taste OK but it kind of reminds me of McDonald's overall not very good, fries are OK kind of a thin version of five guys fries and they're OK haven't tried to shake yet, but I don't know if I like this place enough to come back twice but overall nice place. food cheap price wise and it's cheap taste wise. Food is ok. But 99% chance they will miss your sauces. Mess up your order. Forget to give you cookies or side orders. Out of 5 orders they have messed up on 4 of them and I've had to drive back the first time to get my order. The other times I know they are going to screw up and I check it all before I leave. Last time I waited 30 minutes for 3 burgers, fry, shake, banana loaf and a cookie. It took them 4 times to deliver it to me finally. If you go there check your food. I've passed by this place in Austin so many times and never stopped to try it. Now that I saw this one nearby I was exited to go. It is 30% better than In-N-Out Burger; the meat tastes better and the sauce isn't too sweet. The fries are better as well. Rustic with the skin on; crispy. They don't get cold as fast. Chicken bites are good but not as tasty as CFA, I am happy to know that the chicken is cleaner though. I can't wait to try the drinks and to come back and try it out for Breakfast. read more
