Whenever I am driving around this road to head over to my parents I drive by this restaurant. A couple of weeks ago I decided to go here for lunch on a Sunday with a friend to catch up. Like Eddie S. says in his review, the location doesn't do this place justice! Once you step inside you are really taken to a totally different environment. The pricing seems a little high but believe me, once you see the portions and the flavor of the dishes, you will understand that they are just. When we arrived the restaurant was starting to get packed and by the time our food arrived the restaurant was at almost 90% capacity between noon and 1pm. My friend got a banh mi which came with fries and I ordered the 'le emperor pho'. He said that his banh mi was delicious. While I didn't try his sandwich because it had pork, I did try his fries and those were pretty amazing! My pho was one of the best tasting pho that I have tasted in a while. The broth was so flavorful and did not have any funky taste. The noodles had a nice bite and the bean sprouts and all the other accoutrement they gave was plenty sufficient. The service was extremely friendly. Even though the restaurant was busy with customers dining in and constant to go orders, they were extremely attentive and brought our food came out in a very timely manner. Don't let the prices of this place scare you away! Everything, even their appetizers are HUGE portions and very easy to share. They are very accommodating for large groups and are able to split individual checks. My group ordered many different things and the conclusion across the board- delicious! I loved the crab spring rolls. Again, HUGE portions. The pho was well seasoned and yummy and I had tons of leftovers. The staff is super friendly! They will pack up all the leftovers for you. I ordered the grilled pork vermicelli which tasted great, but it was smaller than the ones I get at other Vietnamese restaurant. I've seen this place as several restaurants over the years. The latest is Le Emperor and what they do is far above what's been there previously. The ambiance is clean and quiet. Soft music plays in the background and the plants in the dining area are real. Service is prompt and friendly and of Vietnamese is new to you they will offer items you may like. As for the food it was flavorful and unique. They do pour the broth hot from the container and the presentation of other items is clean and nice. This is definitely an upscale step from the average Vietnamese restaurant. The pho we order led was fresh and was Defintely freshly made and not from any premix. Veggies were fresh and generous. Le Emperor saved our butts this past Valentines Day. While the day began with other plans, a very sick foster pup forced us to cancel our dinner reservation and order local. After a lot of back and forth my partner and I finally agreed on Le Emperor. Confined to the house, we were limited to placing an order for takeout or delivery. While I didn't voice my opinion at the time, I was concerned that the takeout experience would put a damper on the meal. I was wrong. The mango salad is now a new favorite of mine, and a dish I strongly suggest ordering. The flavors are bright, and acidic, sweet, yet savory. The dish hits all of the right notes. My husband ordered the vermicelli. It was his first experience with vermicelli and to my surprise he tackled most of the dish without adding the accompanying sauce. My salmon was equally satisfying. Went back today after many months and the food was super bland. Even the char grilled pork in the spring rolls was bland and also not as meaty as I remember. I didn't have time for a large pho so I asked for a small, which in my defense most restaurants have. Welp, not this one. Apparently, it's only large or Kids portion. From start the finish, I was taken in a journey. Stepping into this restaurant, the decor made you feel like you were in another part of the world. The service was impeccable and on point. We started with Grandma's egg rolls. Elegantly plated and sliced to make eating easier, these were filled with seafood and pork. Grandma knows a thing or two about cooking. Shrimp dumplings were perfectly pursed and bursting with flavor and the president's Hanoi vermicelli was fit for a king (don't tell Trump). With well seasoned beef, amazing meatballs and grandma's eggrolls accompanying the vermicelli, this is indulgence. Service This is where everything came together. Lucas was a top-notch server--knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely enthusiastic. He offered thoughtful recommendations and shared a brief history of the family behind the restaurant. Food arrived promptly and hot, exactly as it should. By the end of the meal, it was hard to tell who was more grateful--us or them. I went there for lunch last week. I had a taste for Vietnamese Beef Stew, and not many place have it. Le Emperor supposedly had it, so I stopped by. This place turned out to be a very high end Vietnamese restaurant. Long story short, the food and service were great and the prices were reasonable. They also had a lunch menu, although their Beef Stew wasn't one of the offerings. As shown in the photo, the Beef Stew was served in a crock with a fresh roll. Upon finishing my meal, the server brought a spoon on a small dessert plate. The spoon had something in it covered with a shiny brown glaze. We got the lobster curry, la emporer shaking beef, and crème brûlée, everything was beyond amazing! The gentleman server we had was super courteous and gave us descriptive recommendations! I found this place through google and was definitely not disappointed. Upon arrival they were very tentative to us and the ambiance was very cozy . They offered a variety of different drinks from wines to mocktails . We started off with The coconut shrimp which were phenomenal 10/10. after that for our entrees we got two Le emperor Pho which were large and very flavorful they poured the broth on our noodles table side. Quan was an amazing waiter and brought the dessert menu out to us and answered any questions we had. For our dessert we got the Banana flambé which was amazing and a nice little show with the fire. Came here early Friday evening and place was not yet packed. The waiter was really nice and gave us good customer service. Their menus were light up cool so we knew we picked the right place. We ordered: spring rolls, mango shrimp salad, red snapper, and shaking beef. All were amazing and cooked so well! The spring rolls had a crunch and the peanut sauce was creamy. The mango salad had the right amount of citrus with salty. Red snapper was cooked very well and cut for easy eating. Just a heads up to be aware of tiny bones. This is actually a six-star review, it's just knocks it off of the five-star meter. The location doesn't do this establishment justice but it's not in a bad neighborhood it's just kind of off the beaten path in a sense. Parking is ample. Once you step in you are greeted by a newly opened restaurant with professionally oriented staff and nice down to earth furniture that is not cheap but don't expect to be sitting on Downy feathers. The plates are not from the dollar store like other places they really did put money into the establishment here. Not the biggest menu you ever seen but that lets them concentrate on what they actually have. I have Vietnamese staple soup Pho, Banh mi, appetizers, desserts and a few are probably missed. We started out with the edamame spicy which had a chance of vinegary spice on there, I'll have better but this is probably the least favorite thing off for the menu but it's still good. Also had the soft shell crab which was company on top of a bed of "spring mix?" accented with chili sauce. It was a really good light starter with accents of flowers on top for eye appeal. The pho that I had tasted almost like what my mother would make at home but that would take all day, you can come here and have it instantly. Mother had the duck which she approved of. And another pet peeve that they do not do here is they wash the tables with a seemingly clean rack instead of using something they just slap out of the bucket that's been there for the beginning of the week. The ambience is quite inviting with soft piano music playing in the background instead of these younger badonkadonkadonk loud music playing at other restaurants. The server attire is professional in which even the walk up and down the aisle to deliver food is proper and they deliver cart style instead of just holding dishes in their hands with their thumb in your plate. Casual date or first date? This is the place I would definitely take somebody. You can thank me later on that. There is also a Sugar Land location which I just found out about but I am content here. It's a good thing this restaurant isn't on Bellaire because the line would be out the door! Love this hidden gem near cypress! Came across this place while scrolling through Yelp, I cannot believe I didn't know of this place until now. First of all, food is amazing! Everything is perfect, from presentations, tastes, ingredients, to creativity; I can tell the chef & owners has years of experience and a long list of recipes. The owners paid great attention to details. I like their plates, utensils, furniture, interior decorations. Everything is clean, pretty, and representations of the Vietnamese culture. Service is friendly with all their waitress wearing traditional Vietnamese dress, Ao Dai. It will be nice to see the waiter wearing them too . This place made me miss my traveling days in Vietnam so much. What a gem in Cypress! So happy to see more Asian food pop up in the area, especially a Vietnamese one. I would say Le Emperor is a more elevated Vietnamese spot. It had a modern but homey feel to it. All the staff were so friendly and checked on us often. The presentation of the food 10/10 We started off with some appetizers: -The Emperor Spring Rolls (filled with crab meat which is new to me. But as a crab lover, loved it) -Soft-shell crab came with this sweet and tangy sauce that went well with it -Mango salad was nice and fresh Entrees: -whole red snapper: my only critique is I wish there was more of the tamarind sauce to pour over. They do their sauces well here -walnut shrimp 10/10 with broccoli in truffle oil. It also came with a side of sticky rice, That was a first for me but the savoriness of the rice went well with the sweetness of the walnut shrimp. I'm a fan! We finished off with some nice and decadent. crème brulee. Also forgot the mention the hot tea that was over a flame so it stayed nice and hot the entire time. That was a nice touch. Le Emperor is such a special little gem. While this restaurant is not very big, this place is packed with an amazing family history. I heard our waiter talking about the painting on the wall with another table sitting next to us. He said that the older woman sitting in a small house at the end of the painting is his grandmother. She started a restaurant in Vietnam in 1990. Now, it has its second chain open. The other restaurant is located in Sugar Land. So neat! One of the things I loved hearing during my experience here. Now on to the food. We ordered half spring roll and half le emperor roll. (2 each) AMAZING. Freshly made sprung rolls, and the le emperor rolls were perfectly crispy. ($11.50) I had the Spicy Lemongrass Chicken. ($22) Honestly, it's not my favorite. I will definitely try their curry chicken next time. My dad tried their le emperor vermicelli dish. ($20) He really liked it. My mom tried their chicken pho and loved it as well! ($14) They said their dishes were super fresh. While this restaurant may be higher in price compared to other Vietnamese restaurants, the experience is that of fine dining with high-end quality, and the food presented is made super fresh.
