Just a little quick back story...I was driving along my cross country road trip. I was craving a hot bowl of soup. I simply Googled Pho restaurants because I find giant bowls of soup to be quite comforting. This was on a random Sunday afternoon. Well, I just happened to be here in Cypress, Texas about 25 miles away from Houston and kaboom! Pho Bo 2 was located right off Highway 290 in a giant shopping plaza. From the outside appearance Pho Bo 2 looked pretty modern. I had a good feeling that I would enjoy the food here. Upon entering, there were plenty of tables and chairs featured and best of all they were open for dine-in during this pandemic! It wasn't too crowded which I actually liked so this way I could get served quickly (though most Pho places have fast service regardless) because I was hungry! Pho Bo 2 had all your typical food, appetizers, rice, plates and of course Pho soups...lol, the only reason why I ever come for Vietnamese. They offered 40 different Noodle Soups along two pages of the menu. What stood out to me and which I've had success with in the past is Pho soup including egg noodles, pork, shrimp and my new favorite item...quail eggs. I went with Soup #37...the Hu Tieu Mi...which combined rice and egg noodles with quail eggs, shrimp and pork...and for $8.95...an absolute bargain! I also got hot tea which I believe they charged an extra $1. With tax and tip the meal cost $15. Within 5 minutes or so, the soup came out. It appeared really colorful looking with a nice brown broth to it. I also noticed large pieces of pork, shrimp, quail eggs and little green scallions which I'm a fan of. And of course buried underneath the soup were the rice and egg noodles. From my first impression, I was excited with what I received. This #37 was very good. The broth was tasty and the pork was generally lean and not too fatty. I was disappointed with the shrimp. I believe there were only 2 shrimps in the soup and they weren't deveined. Grrr...why wouldn't they take a little time to devein the shrimp? This made me feel like they weren't fully cleaned. Ah, okay so the shrimp let me down. Still, for the occasion and for desiring Pho...the soup was definitely satisfying. Although they only offer 1 size for all their soups, I was actually left yearning for a little more after I devoured the bowl. Maybe I could have found a quick appetizer to start with. Finally, for spontaneously coming across this place on my Google Maps while driving...Pho Bo 2 was a general success. If I happened to be living in Cypress, I would return here. I felt like they were reliable and good enough in terms of quality with their Pho soup. My overall experience was a positive one. read more

Came by here for lunch earlier today. Food wise was good along w/ their drink options. I ordered cánh gà chiên nớc mắm (fish sauce wings) and it was a bit moist and tasty. At first I thought it would come w/ rice since I ordered a shrimp dish that would come w/ it last time I came around their soft/grand opening shortly before covid hit, but I had to ask the waiter for extra rice since there weren't any when he brought the wings out. Supposedly they'll charge you for an extra bowl of rice and I don't think that was the case though. I also ordered a jasmine milk tea w/ matcha boba and it tasted less flowery which is good for my liking and I didn't even taste any matcha flavor to the matcha boba that was like crystal boba though. Something I noticed inside was that whenever other customers left after dining in, the waiter didn't clear and clean the tables right away and I understand if he was busy though. I'm thinking it was bc there weren't alot of customers when we came in and he was probably gonna wait until more people would come in later. But overall most of their food is great and hopefully I'll be here eventually to try some of their other foods. :) read more

I love this place! The pork bun is amazing! I had the pho with chicken tonight. Yum! We were there last night. The pork spring rolls are yummy! Hubby had banh mi last night and tonight. He loved both. Restaurant is clean. Staff is very friendly. I have missed having a Vietnamese Restaurant to eat at. So glad these guys are here. Bring your appetite, large portions. read more

I usually order soups from here and it's always delicious. However today we ordered curry coconut beef and house special fried rice and the total was $24. EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED WITH THE PORTION!!! AND QUALITY OF BEEF. It was not worth 12.95 at all. It was a skimpy handful of sliced beef and lots of sliced onions and sauce. It was flavorful but not a good serving size as a dish. It simply was a single portion for a lunch special type meal and should have been maybe $8.95 I understand these covid-19 times are tough for many businesses but if they want to keep bringing customers back they need to increase the portion of this dish or modify the price. We will never go back here again. There is so many other Vietnamese restaurants to choose from. read more

In our endeavor to try new restaurants we stopped in here for a late lunch. First of all, the atmosphere is nice and they keep a clean restaurant. The service was good also. As for the food..... the egg rolls were very good. However, we got the spicy beef noodle soup and it was mediocre at best. Neither of us finished even half of it so it was a disappointment. We came here to check it out using a coupon for free eggrolls that was in the Community News. Eggrolls were excellent! Hot and fresh! Our entrees came shortly after we finished the Eggrolls and everything was delicious. Fresh vegetables and portion size was perfect! We will definitely be back!! read more

I had a headache & my go to remedy is Pho. I had never tried this restaurant, but it was close and opened early. Because of the pandemic, I knew it would be a take out order. I placed order in the first slot available and afterwards was messaged that it was pushed back. Hmm, no big deal. When I arrived at the new time, the restaurant was empty. I don't know - but I will assume that the order was pushed back because no one was there to open the store & prepare it. Got it home (7 min drive) & my Pho was room temperature. I did place entire order in an insulated bag for the quick trip home. The sandwich was good. It was hot. The spring rolls were stale. Definitely made the day before. Threw them out. The Pho, after heating in microwave was very good, the flavor was on point. I was disappointed that it was not steamy hot and that because I ordered vegetable/no meat that there was only one sprig of basil, some chopped green onion(1 teaspoon), bean sprouts (2T), & four slices of jalapeño. I wanted to wait for after the weekend grand opening to come in and give them a try. Me and my 3 out of 4 kiddos came in right when they opened on Monday morning at 10 am and were greeted/seated right away. I was very happy they had a very spacious dining area some Asian places are cramped and it feels stuffy to sit right next to other people. The menu items here was massive. I was having a hard time deciding what to order. Appetizer: 5/5 gio cuon bo nuong. (Bbq beef spring rolls). The beef was flavorful and tender. The rolls were spot on with the meat/veggies/bun ratio. The peanut sauce was very good but I wish it was warm instead of cold. It did not have pickled carrots or chili paste in it either. Entree: 4/5 Large pho chin bo vien ( brisket & meat balls). Me and my kiddos do not like fatty meat and they had nice lean beef. The broth was flavorful except for the fact that is is on the darker side then what I am use to. I am not use to seeing broth so dark. The large size was a little small in my opinion compared to my go to Pho spot on this side of town. ( Pho Hai 2 off Hwy 6 and W. Little York). 4/5 Mi Xao don The amount of noodles in this dish was generous. The flavor of the stir fry was tasty. My only complaint is that it needed a little more meat. I like to have meat/veggie/noodles in each bite. The meats were tender in this dish especially the squid in this was super tender I just wish there was more meats with each bite. 5/5 Hoanh Thanh (wonton) The broth was tasty and not too salty. My daughter and I were pleasantly surprised when she had Char Siu meat and even nice size shrimp in her soup. (We ordered her only hoanh thanh with no noodles). My daughter enjoyed her soup. I tasted the broth and try 1 piece of wonton. I will definitely be back to try other dishes. I am excited to see a Viet place in the Cypress area. I wish them the best of luck! read more

We have our favorite places but are always willing to try new ones. We normally don't eat pho but prefer the rice plates. We ordered the pork spring rolls and a couple of dishes. The place was clean, service was fast and food was fresh. I really liked the egg cake. My go to place doesn't offer that. Can't wait to go back. read more

My first experience at this place was bad, it's not the food it's the service. I tried to give it another chance. This time was so much worse. Server was nice but he bussed tables, served guest and prepared drinks and food and never washed his hands. I watched him the whole time. I couldn't even finish my food because I was so disgusted. We are in the middle of a pandemic and not once did he wash his hands. Gross!! Will definitely not be coming back. read more

Love this place!! They offer a variety of dishes in the menu, the food are so flavorful, especially those grilled meat. We love Vietnamese food and have Vietnamese dishes almost every week. This place is the one we love the most in Cypress area so far. Hopefully they will be keeping the same standard in the future. read more

We Ordered 3 meals and when we got it the main ingredient which was beef was not available they were out of it . i would understand if somebody would have at least called to say that they were out of beef Or asked if we wanted to substitute it for something else they just sent it without the meat which makes the meal pointless then in the Pho the beef they did have in it was not even cooked all the way ! We usually venture out for our pho but this day we wanted to stay in the area. Upon arrival we didn't not see a soul in the restaurant which should had been a red flag. Once we sat down the table had old Sriracha residue that my son noticed instantly. We ordered our food quickly and the food did arrive fast. However, the pho was lacking. Had lunch and enjoyed the rice plate with pork, egg roll, egg cake, and a fried egg. Also ordered the cafe su da. I was concern about the drink, because I pointed at tHe picture and said that's what I wanted, and our server said it's not like the picture. It came out in one of those tapioca drink containers with a sealed lid. After one sip it was actually really good. It tasted like it was supposed to- even had the sweetened condensed milk collecting at the bottom of the cup. I've had it before where it was powdered mix and it was horrible but not here. My buddy had the pork banh mi. He said it was good-- enjoyed the crusty chewy eat bread. Only thing that his sandwich lacked was more jalapeño and pate. Ordered through Ubereats and my food arrived very cold. No utensils provided. This beef tastes raw. A waste of $10. Very disappointed in the quality. Very little protein portion. They add a bunch of white rice to make up for it. Never buying from them again. Do not recommend at all. read more

Their menu is a little bigger than many similar places -- they include ala carte add-ins for soups, some chinese dishes, and bubble teas. I've tried all their core options - bun, banh mi, and pho -- and they're all good. Service is informal but quick; you seat yourself and pay at the register when done. Decor is pretty plain. Between the decor and service, this may isn't the best location for a romantic date, but if you want good, inexpensive food served quickly, this is a great place to go. read more

Slllloooowwwwwwww clap. This place is hands down the best pho in the area. Popped in for a quick bite on the run. Their grilled pork vermicelli and slightly spicy fish sauce were just amazing. Their egg rolls crispy and crunchy. Their pho broth was well seasoned and nicely balanced with just enough star anise. I caught myself moaning into my vermicelli bowl with extra salad. I had 3 bites of noodles and asked for the check, this place is absolutely terrible. I ordered takeout from a different place while at the restaurant, and I'm glad I did. My dish was supposed to be spicy and I couldn't taste the broth, noodles, or beef. It was extremely bland with small portions of meat. This was quite honesty the worst Vietnamese place I've been to in my life and I want to tell the chef to try harder, or to try a different profession. After rereading my review, I feel like I'm coming off as super harsh and that's 100% intentional. This place gets 2 thumbs down and I wish I told the chef in person. I give 4 star because I'm a good person. But the food is bad, normally anything will taste good if you're hungry. But this is opposite. I ordered special pho, fry squid, fry rice and stir fry vegetables and tofu. Me and my wife couldn't finish half of each. I understand that they need to stay open to support the community. The beef broth of the Pho is very good. It's less of msg and more about the sweet taste of bone. I'm highly recommend this place!!
