    general tsos tofu

delicious hidden gem in Spring with an abundance of vegetarian options! i ordered the general tsos tofu with noodles (instead of rice) and it was delicious! the general tsos sauce was different from any other i've had- its tangy but still delicious and you can tell everything is hand crafted. the noodles are very bouncy and delicious. the portions are generous. this is definitely worth the drive. my favorite way to end the meal is with the chocolate baos- they are flaky on the outside, but soft, warm, and gooey on the inside. there is plenty of parking. the inside is very clean and inviting.

I loved the soup dumplings and they had a number of different flavors. They also had a number of different hand stuff dumplings. We got the 3 flavor combo, veggie, pork and chicken. They were tasty. The wantons in the soup were good, but I found that the broth had a heavy seafood flavor. Everything came out relatively fast. And it was really affordable. I would love to try this as take out to see how it stands up to the traveling down the road.

I loved this place! My Tonkotsu Ramen was delicious with thick noodles and a creamy broth. My Friends Ramen was good but in his words "no flavor just spice" . We had a nice waitress who was trying her best to accommodate us while also being a hostess and dealing with to go orders. Very nice people and small place so it doesnt feel crowded. (Yes, we had a lot of fun playing with our food) the Red bean bao made us giggle and happy, they came out the kitchen but I took them home in my tummy :)

Small unassuming place. The food is tasty, the service is quick and friendly. The Xiao Long Bao is very good, The Beef mixed noodle was surprisingly good. Our favorite is the Pork Mapo Tofu. Even the Cha Siu Bao and Fried Dumplings are good. This is a good place to eat and you don't have to go to bellaire or chinatown.

Yummy authentic dumplings! I love how meaty and filled they were! The xiao long bao were so soupy, and the pan fried dumplings were so crispy. The server was also so sweet!

Food here is good, although service is a bit lackluster. There's only one waiter and he does not understand much English--but you can get by with pointing. We ordered the pork xiao long bao which was super juicy and came out hot. They did not have soup spoons though, so we were struggling a bit to eat it. The spicy lan zhou beef noodle was not anything great and seemed to be missing some flavors. The cumin beef was super yummy and had lots of flavor. The beef was tender and the portion size was large. My favorite was definitely the lamb mixed noodle. It was an interesting combination of sweet, savory, and tomatoey but I loved it. Definitely the best dish we ordered.

My girlfriend invited me to lunch and I asked her to choose the place since she had an appointment at 3pm. She stumbled upon Noodle Kitchen while doing some research. I must say, this place is a hidden gem. I'm so glad she found Noodle Kitchen, it's so close to my home. If you are looking for typically Chinese food, like orange chicken and general tso chicken, I believe you are looking at the wrong place. Although they have those dishes here, they offer so much more! Plumped Xiao Long Bao and Peking duck! I find the xiao long bao were wrapped thinly (just how I like them) and filled with soup. The Peking duck comes in half or whole order and they do not offer the buns, instead they offered the thin pancakes to wrap the Peking duck. Save you a little bit of carbs! The restaurant was quiet with Chinese melodies songs. Clean and quick service. Spoke to the young waiter and he stated they have been open two years. This place is authentic Chinese cuisine! I definitely come back, especially for more XLB!

Pleasantly surprised by the food at this place. Food was fresh and tasty and came out quick. Kind friendly service. Faves for today Red dumplings , the look Spicy on the picture but they are not Chicken show mein great taste love the noodles Beef Bao steamed

Steamed broccoli but there is a dead bug in it.

Food is really good. They have this restaurant in Lubbock and only Houston I believe. I was surprised that there was a dead bug (had to take another look at it and ask chat gpt if this was a bug -- which it did!). The food is really good here but be careful and make sure you are double checking before you take each bite Was disappointed because it would have been nice to been served again! But they only allowed a refund

This place is top of the line! The food here is so clean and very authentic, I would come here over and over again. The service was great. The atmosphere was clean and most importantly the food tasted like love!

What we could not eat ... just was not good :-(

So, picture this: It's a wild Saturday night, and after surviving what can only be described as an action-packed afternoon, the fam and I decided to embark on a culinary adventure. The mission? Chinese takeout from an uncharted restaurant territory, a place where no noodle has gone before in our household. Spoiler alert: Maybe we should've asked for recommendations or consulted a fortune cookie, because what unfolded was a culinary catastrophe of epic proportions! Now, let me preface this by saying, "With all due respect, Noodle Kitchen, this was NOT the noodle party we were expecting." We ordered an ensemble cast featuring Long Bao Dumplings (Pork), Beef Fried Noodle, Soup Dumplings, and Orange Chicken. But alas, it was a performance that left us with more disappointment than a failed magic trick. The Orange Chicken tried its best to salvage the evening, earning the title of "best of the bunch" by default. However, even this noble dish couldn't escape the clutches of culinary chaos. The crispy bits were staging a mutiny, abandoning ship faster than you can say "chopsticks," and the chicken pieces had a peculiar chewiness that left us questioning if we were dining on poultry or some mysterious hybrid. The meat was so white that the jury's still out on whether it was real chicken breast or a clever disguise of minced-up poultry with a breadcrumb coating. Oh, and did I mention the unexpected hickory-flavored encore? Because apparently, our Orange Chicken decided to put on a smoky show on the backend. A taste adventure, to say the least, scoring a 3.8 out of 5 on the "What did I just eat?" scale. Now, let's talk about the Beef Fried Noodle, or as I like to call it, the BFN - Big Food Nope. One bite into this dish, and it felt like I was chewing on culinary disappointment. It's as if the chef got carried away with the seasoning, sprinkling it on like confetti at the end and forgetting to let it mingle with the rest of the ingredients. Gritty, dry, and a beef cameo that was as bland as a high school graduation speech - not my idea of a flavor party. The Bao Dumplings and I decided to keep a safe distance from each other, judging by the fam's reaction. I mean, if a picture is worth a thousand words, their expressions were a Shakespearean tragedy. In conclusion, Noodle Kitchen, you've earned a one-way ticket to the "DO NOT EAT" list for 2024. May your culinary adventures be more delightful than mine. STAY FED, my friends! We know food! Lan Zhou Beef Noodle Soup

Small, clean and authentic Chinese noodle house with freshly made noodles. Service is decent although spotty at times and I'm not crazy about the tip suggestions of 20, 22 and 25% (just pay your staff/family livable wages), however, the food was very good. We started with 2 orders of the soup dumplings; one crab and one pork. They came out pretty quickly and were very good. The dumpling itself was tender and hot, but held together well enough to contain an ample amount of soup and meat. I could probably eat 4-5 orders of these on my own, they're so good and go down so easily. My next favorite dish was the hot oil spill noodles. Big, fat, thicc house made noodles nestled under sprouts, cilantro, some green bells, match stick carrots and broccoli, topped of course with lots of hot chili flake and oil. Tossed together it was a delicious, smoky, spicy, noodly mess of goodness. The only thing I would change is maybe adding some meat to it which I may ask for on the next one. Mongolian beef had generous portions of sweet and savory beef on top of fresh, chewy spaghetti noodles. Lastly was the spicy beef noodle soup which had a nice flavorful broth, generous amount of chili oil and spaghetti noodles. Lastly we had the chocolate bao for dessert. Came out piping hot, seems like a cinnamon sugar type of donut exterior with a hot, warm, chocolatey center (possibly Nutella). Very tasty treat. I would go back for dumplings and the hot oil spill noodles again and again.

    Do they offer Lunch specials?

Their prices are quite reasonable. Generous portions. I just looked at the Menu. No “ Lunch Specials” meaning reduced price. Terrific Service. Very attentive waitstaff. Huge selection of very good Chinese food. Give it a GO!

    Do they serve Dims sum?

They have a few dumplings that you would find at dim sum but they do nit have a full Dim Sum menu.

    When does this place open?

We wanted to try 1 dish of each specialty, so we ordered of course a Lamb Karahi, this is a very special dish, comes in a hot wok like plate, very traditional Pakistani, the flavor, texture and aroma of this dish is so unique, definitely a must, we asked level 2 spice and it was wonderful. We also had the Chana Masala, this is the best Chana I've tried, so garlicky, so good, the chickpeas had the perfect texture as well, again mild on the spiciness, just great. We also had Chicken Szechuan chaomein, great noodles, the Szechuan flavor on this dish was just spot on. And their other menu items are fire as well! We went on a Sunday late evening. We had a 9 pm airport pickup at IAH so it was a perfect opportunity to grab a spectacular dinner and make the 30+ minute drive out to IAH totally worth it. Parking lot wasn't too full so that wasn't an issue. While the neighborhood ain't River Oaks luxury, it ain't too scary either. We kept it simple - ordered a whole duck and Bamboo House Special Noodle with Beef. This place ain't cheap but the food is worth every penny. It was very busy that evening so it's not a well-kept secret but also proves that eventually, Houstonians will figure out where the good food is. The duck was near perfect. They serve the duck with the pancakes (as opposed to the buns like at Arco) which is my preference. The soup that comes with it was also extremely flavorful. And the house special noodles with beef - oh my. I swear it's just one really long noodle so you may be frustrated trying to divvy up the family style bowl, but the labor is worth it. So good... Can't wait for my next airport run so I can sneak in a lunch or dinner at this place. So many other menu items I want to try!

I had previously visited the now closed Bamboo House on Westheimer and I remember being impressed by the food. I had to make an airport run and decided that it would be perfect timing to stop by this location. I highly recommend ordering the duck ahead of time, but we were lucky enough to snag one of the last ducks when we arrived around 7 pm on a Sunday evening. The waitress was super friendly and upbeat and the restaurant is older but well maintained. You can see where the food is being prepared/cooked and you can see ducks being cooked/warmed behind a glass window. The duck was absolutely spectacular with the perfect seasoned and tender meat accompanied by well rendered crispy skin. I love how the pancakes are paper thin and pair well with the scrumptious duck and other toppings. They also provide sugar and plum sauce as additional toppings which I thought was interesting but not my cup of tea. The duck soup was extremely flavorful and full bodied and went well with the duck. The noodles were also amazing with likely hand pulled noodles served with an abundance of tender beef and vegetables with a little Sichuan kick. I was intrigued by a strawberry chicken dish that I saw on the menu and I plan to try it the time. My diagnosis: hands down the best Peking duck in the greater Houston area!

In a place like Houston, where you can get authentic Vietnamese food, this can be a luck draw if the fusion pays off. However, when I tried the food, it was a very flavorful and worth every cent I spent. Everything was very tasty. The wings were flavorful and crisp. It had a combination of crispy skin seasoned with a rich sauce. The meat was also moist. For a party of two, it was also very shareable because they gave six pieces -both drums and wings. I will say that you really gotta to get in there get your hands and face dirty though! (They did provide a hand wipe!) For the main dishes, the won tonic soup was very flavorful with sweet-and-sour elements with egg noodles that soaked up all this good flavor. The wontons inside were very standard. And the onion was added to provide some balance. Everything was very hardy and filling. My friend had gotten the vermicelli. Which came with crunchy egg rolls, shredded veggies, noodles, and shrimp topped with a fish sauce. It felt very light and refreshing with a balance of textures and savory elements'. Highly recommend as the number one and two selling dishes - it would just depend on if you're in a soup or dry noodle sort of mood. Service was overall fast and friendly. You have to pay by going to the counter. We had a newer waiter though, and it took him a long time to get our orders correctly and he had to get some help. Hopefully they're doing well, but overall, it's a very cute Homie little establishment. Seating fits around 30 around booths and tables.
