Ate here last night. I ordered one of my favorite Chinese cuisines as always the orange chicken and two pork egg rolls. The food was amazing, I especially loved the fact that the chicken was crunchy on the outside but very tender on the inside. The perfect way to enjoy orange chicken in my opinion. The egg rolls were very crunchy with lots of flavor. When I walked in I was greeted with a nice big smile and welcoming lady. The atmosphere felt very homey. The ambiance of the place felt very comforting, although I didn't really get to have a look around the place because I just walked in for pick up and walked straight out. All in all, I appreciated the food and service here and will be back to try more dishes from the menu and probably dine-in as well. Thank you! i am new to the Tomball area, and saw this place while I was looking for another business in the area. Ate there with 2 friends for the first time tonight, and we were SO impressed! The food was delicious! And the service was excellent. We had our food in a few minutes, and they were very attentive to us throughout the meal. We have tried numerous Chinese places around our area, and this is one of the top ones. We will definitely be going there often. Pros: delivery was quick. food was steaming hot by the time it got to my house. also packaged very well and not thrown together. the veggies were crisp and food was fresh. Cons: unfortunately this food had no flavor whatsoever. not the general's chicken. not my chicken & snow peas. the fried rice was extremely bland. almost as if they just put a dash of soy sauce in regular steamed rice. when I say flavor I'm not looking for salt. I mean there weren't any hints of ginger, soy, not even chili in the general chicken sauce. didn't want set my mouth on fire spicy, but there was no spice at all. about the only thing that had flavor was the egg rolls. they were crispy and veggies inside had seasoning. it made me wonder why the other items tasted like i ordered from the low sodium, no anything hospital menu. and before i get attacked: 1. This is a smaller family restaurant, so it is always busy but in a pleasant way. I feel like i am eating with family while a business is happening around me, but it is a happy, welcoming business. All of the staff seem pleased to have me stop by, and do everything they can to serve the best, freshest food i have eaten in this area. Vegetarian Egg Roll: 4/5. Tasty flavor without the need for pork, crispy outside and not overly breaded. This was the highlight of my meal. Hot and Sour Soup: 2.5/5. The consistency was too thick (seemed like too much of a thickening agent was added) and the seasoning was lacking as well as the spice, mushrooms, and bamboo shoots, but it was decent. Combination Mei Fun: 1.5/5. By far the most disappointing dish of the night. Absolutely bland, nothing but thin rice noodles and a little bit of meat (a few shrimp, and some chicken pieces and beef pieces). There was NO seasoning, no sauce, no veggies. NOTHING! I wasn't interested in the curry Singapore Mei Fun so I opted for this one because it was highly rated. Big mistake. They should just advertise this dish as a container of unseasoned thin rice noodles. So disappointed in the lack of flavor and lack of veggies!! Where is the cabbage?? I don't recommend this dish at all. Overall: 2.5/5. I am still trying to find an authentic, FLAVORFUL Chinese restaurant in Houston, specifically north Harris county, that can compete with the small family owned Chinese restaurant I grew up going to in a small southern town. I ordered: Cheese puffs 3oz egg rolls Beef and broccoli w/ steamed rice And wonton soup The soup wasn't the best I've ever had but I still enjoyed it. It tasted like there was oyster sauce in it? I know they're cheese puffs and not crab puffs, so for that they were exactly as described. When it comes to take out Chinese food, expectations can be low and it's usually enough to get hot food and to get it fast. However, you will find that Egg Rolls Chinese Café exceeds expectations and goes way beyond the standard. They serve delicious food, and the orders are ready incredibly quick. It has taken me almost three years of living in the Houston area to find my trusty Friday night take out spot for movie night with my husband. Even better, the restaurant is conveniently located right off of highway 249, and there is a cool comic and game store called Dragon's Lair close by for browsing while waiting for an order to be prepared. My usual order is the house fried rice with the beef and broccoli entrée, and I could eat it any night of the week. The fried rice is cooked with plenty of meat and onion and egg, and generously seasoned. It seems to be made fresh in small batches, and lacks the generic, mass-produced taste of typical take out fried rice. Everything else I have tried has been delicious as well. The general Tso's chicken is the perfect blend of sweet and spicy, and the restaurant uses real chicken filets as opposed to the processed chunks I have had at other places. I am usually a crab Rangoon fanatic, but the cream cheese wontons here are some of the best appetizers I have ever tasted, despite their lack of crab. They are warm and creamy on the inside, with perfectly crunchy fried wonton on the outside. They taste as if they have a touch of garlic mixed in. And don't get me started on the egg rolls! They are large and crispy and almost are a meal all by themselves. They are even delicious reheated. This restaurant is definitely aptly named. Egg Rolls seems to be run by a husband and wife, and not only do they serve great food, but they treat every customer like a good friend. Every time my husband and I have visited, we have been greeted with warmth and kindness. Even with a steady stream of customers and many orders to prepare, they take the time to help each person individually and give great customer service. As an extra perk, they will throw in free eggrolls or cream cheese wontons with larger orders. The only downside is that the restaurant does not offer in house dining, although they have a lovely dining room. Perhaps they have not been able to employ enough service staff since the pandemic has affected employment. In any case, this won't stop me from ordering from Egg Rolls often! In sum, if you are looking for a small business to give your patronage to, you should give Egg Rolls a shot. The owners are lovely people who work hard preparing great food and serving it with kindness. Even better, you might consider grabbing your Chinese take away and going a few doors down to Dragons Lair to play board and adventure games. Two fantastic small businesses in such close proximity makes for a great date night! read more

I'm just going to get to the point. The food arrived over an hour late. We called twice to find out the status of our delivery. Both times we were assured the food would arrive in 10 minutes. When they finally arrived, I asked the driver why they were so late and he refused to answer me. As I handed him the receipt, he noticed that there was no tip. He yelled at me because the food being an hour late "was not his problem". When we called the restaurant to try to resolve the matter, the manager said that we were lying because the driver didn't mention him yelling at us. Seeing that we weren't getting anywhere, we hung up. I do NOT recommend this place to anyone who values customer service or expects businesses to deliver on their promise.
