I'm from California and currently staying in Texas for work for almost two months. I've ordered from this Chinese restaurant on DoorDash many times already, and it has been consistently good every time. The portions are generous, the food is flavorful, and everything tastes authentic. You can tell the dishes are cooked fresh and prepared really well. As someone who grew up eating Chinese food, I really appreciate finding a place like this in Texas. Definitely one of my favorite Chinese food spots here so far. We ordered the orange chicken with fried rice and egg drop soup. We also ordered a side of beef broccoli. The orange chicken had good flavor, but it just was not crispy. The rice like flavor and it was not crispy. The beef broccoli had no flavor and was very overpriced for the small size. Egg drop soup seemed very oily. Tried it, didn't like it and threw it out. Ordered from here twice so far and both times have been fantastic! Unlike my husband, I'm not typically a huge fan of Americanized Chinese food. It's usually too sweet and the flavors are just bland (besides being sugary). This place actually has some flavor! So far, we've tried: General Tso's chicken Shrimp fried rice Lo mein Hot and sour soup Chinese broccoli Bok choy Eggrolls* The eggrolls were the only thing I didn't care for. They have a cinnamon flavor that just does not belong. I didn't take any stars off of it, because the rest of the food more than makes up for it. Everything else is 5 stars! Although the folks were very friendly, the portions very generous...the General Ts'o chicken had a weird taste and smell and a funny aftertaste. I could only eat 1 piece and tossed the rest down the disposal. The shrimp fried rice was just ok, although there was a HUGE amount of rice, there were only about 4 or 5 shrimp. My family and I got vicious food poisoning here. Called in to let them know and they offered to refund me for one of the items that "may" of made us sick. So they didn't deny that they possibly gave us food poisoning but didn't want to refund the entire order. To be clear I was never calling for a refund, nor did I ask for one. I was informing them more for awareness but to offer me $3.75 back is disrespectful. It's been over 14 hours of vomiting and other symptoms. They informed me that the food poisoning could've possibly come from the wrapping on their fried spring rolls as they may have been "rotted before frying". We ordered from IG the other night and before we looked up they were at the door. I order online with IG most of the time and it's fast and convenient for us. They made it the way we askEd and also gave us the extra sauce we wanted. The chicken was so fresh and tasty(General Tso) and the beef and broccoli was amazing. The first and ONLY time I will be ordering from this place. The food is dry, and tastes NOTHING like what real food should taste like. I got the Mongolian beef, and it has celery and carrots, and doesn't taste like ANY other Mongolian beef I've ever had before... It's not appetizing at all. The Manager assures me that it has to do with the lettuce wrap that they sometimes use to give it a different taste. That different taste is called "food poisoning!". We were in the northwest Houston area, and decided to have some chinese food. There are mixed reviews about Imperial Garden, so we decided to try it, and have one of our own. We ordered for take out, at lunch time. The place was empty, so it kind of warned us, but then, we noticed that the phone was really busy, and a good amount of people, was in and out picking up for take out. We ordered the sweet and sour chicken, shrimp with vegetables, and egg rolls. The food was ready within minutes, despite the significant amount of take out orders, both the chicken and the shrimps were really good, flavorful, and hughe portions, the rice, which for me is a key dish, in order to tell how good a chinese place is, was really good, it didn't have that much fried egg, but it was with great flavor, and the egg rolls were big and crispy. We will for sure return to Imperial garden, and continue trying more items from the extensive menu. read more
