Ordered the orange chicken (not spicy) and it was perfectly cooked, crispy, and the sauce had the right balance of sweet without being overwhelming. Everything was quick and smooth from ordering to pickup, and the food was fresh and hot. You can tell they care about consistency and quality. I love this place, granted I live about 2 minutes away so it's very convenient. That being said it is very reasonably priced and you get enough food for 2 meals. I always add a won ton or egg drop soup. Because I live close I usually just do pick up. But their service is quick and consistent. Consistently great food. Wide variety of choices. Excellent service! This is our go-to Chinese restaurant, and in fact, it's the ONLY one we frequent. We seem to get a variety of the same dishes: wonton soup, egg drop soup, hot and sour soup; lo mein, sinapore rice noodles, orange chicken, sesame chicken, spring rolls, egg rolls. All are top notch and delicious! Mostly this location does take out, but there are a few tables available. Typical small restaurant with adequate seating. Easy access with plenty of parking, when we've got a hankering for good, hot (both in temperature and in spice!) Chinese food, this is where we go. With great sadness I have to write this review! I've been coming here since I have moved to spring- the food was amazing but the last two times , I've ordered it has gone down hill . Ordered the lunch specials orange chicken and sesame chicken! I attached a photo below. they literally smell the same ,they look the same, and they taste the same, I called up just to let them know ..The owner was so rude and nasty. First time customer. We ordered Sweet & Sour Chicken, Chicken & Broccoli and Egg Drop soup on a take out order. They forgot to include any sweet & sour sauce so that meal just didn't work. The fried rice was bland with no vegetables, egg or any other items. The serving of rice was excessive, that would have been a positive had it been good fried rice. The Chicken & Broccoli at best was just mediocre. Do not get Mongolian beef. They skimp on the beef and put even more carrots. The customer service is especially bad from the tall Asian man. He is rude, condescending, and arrogant. I had been nothing but cordial to him and he always has attitude. I really don't know why he's rude. The other ppl are not. Again, they give small portions, be aware. The fried rice is also questionable. The " fried rice " that comes with a dish always looks preheated and stale , and they don't even add any vegetables, eggs, or meat. It is just rice that they sauté with, I'm guessing, soy sauce and other typical things they add. Literally just rice. Some of the chicken that was included in the General So also was stale and hard to chew, like it was fried after being fired once. All in all, you get what you pay for. The prices are relatively cheap. Only thing that I recommend are the egg rolls and spring rolls. They can't really mess those up. read more

In spite of the five minutes my husband and I spent playfully debating the possible misspelling of the name (even now, my auto-correct is insisting that it's Hunan, not Hunam), we decided to pay Hunam Garden a visit to quell our cravings for some good, fast Chinese food. As with any takeout restaurant, the decor is dicey, the menu's on paper, and this one had an interesting addition of what looked like an old bullet hole on the window. But not of that turned us away, least of all the warmth of the guy who chatted readily with us as he took our order. The prices of the lunch specials here are typical of Chinese takeout restaurants but the amount of food that comes out is a little better than most. Not only did our entree arrive with the requisite fried rice (which, in Texas, seems to be plain fried rice with no additive meats or veggies) and choice of soup, but also a vegetable spring roll and a cheese puff. On my first visit, I ordered the Hunan style shrimp, which was just slightly spicy and replete with a good amount of non-fishy shrimp. The spring roll and hot and sour soup were standard, but we really liked the cheese puff, which turned out to be a small dollop of cream cheese wrapped in a wonton skin and then deep-fried, which of course was absolutely unhealthy and terribly delicious. Dipping them in the supplied containers of duck sauce and hot mustard just made them better. I returned a few weeks later, unfortunately just a shade past the time I could have placed a lunch special order. Thankfully, there are combination plates (which come with fried rice, roll, and cheese puff), albeit without many of the yummy entrees offered on the lunch special menu. I got the shrimp with broccoli this time and found it just all right, being much sweeter and saltier than I would have preferred. Still, service here is fast and friendly and there are a few linoleum tables ready in case you decide to dine in. The phone was ringing off the hook for delivery orders during the two times we visited, so they're a clear favorite for Chinese food in the neighborhood. A solid 3.5 eatery! read more

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in the Spring area. I drive about 15-20min to pick up this Chinese because there is nothing in between that is just as good. Their food is always fresh, fast and affordable. I have had nothing but good service and return often. My favorite from here is the sesame chicken, but I've also had the red curry chicken, sweet and sour chicken and beef with broccoli. The o my one I didn't care for was red curry, but I'm not a huge curry fan and that's probably me. The fried dumpling are a must have and the cheese puffs are sooo good. Anytime I move into a new area, there's a few things which are really important on my list of things to do, the least of these not being finding really good take-out Chinese food. Well, mark another one off the list. After reading the limited but raving reviews on Yelp about Hunam which is just a couple of miles from the house I decided to give it a try for lunch. They have some great lunch specials for around $6 which come with soup, fried rice, vegetable spring roll, and a cheese puff along with your entree. I ordered from the a la carte menu since I wanted leftovers. Here's what I had: Pork fried rice: Really good stuff, the fried rice would hold up on its well without adding a meat, but I found the pork added a really nice textural complexity and occasional BBQ bite. Chicken lo mein: I enjoyed the noodles but found the chicken didn't anything to it. It just tasted like pan seared chicken cut into cubes. It was a bit bland... next time I'll try another meat or just get noodles without meat. General Tso's chicken: By far the highlight of the meal... the General chicken was in the top 3 of those I've ever had. Most General chicken interpretations have a bland brown sauce... this was moist, flavorful, and had a nice touch of pepper. They warned me it would be spicy (I wouldn't call it that, but my tolerance is high and things I get no spice out of melt some people) and I would've liked a little more heat but the flavor itself was incredible. I'll keep up with this one... the fact they have all day delivery in the area is also a huge plus One word of warning: If you're planning to eat in... this place is small and in a shopping strip, the total seating is probably 10-12 chairs for the entire place. A TOTAL disappointing place.
