My grandson graduated from high school and really wanted Chinese from Oriental Gardens. We were thrilled with the resuls. I order 9 different items on the phone and everything was perfect and ready on time. I asked about the house special wonton soup being in 2 containers as it had been before the sale and remodeling. They said it only came in one container so I thought I would have to add more broth. I opened the bag and there were the two containers just as I requested. Everyone of the dishes were delicious: Special wonton soup, potstickers, fried wonton skins, moo shoo pork with extra pancakes, chicken lettuce wraps, shrimp with lobster sauce, pepper steak and onions, rice and French fries for my 7 year old. Love the decor but that's about it. The wonton soup had a thin base. It didn't taste like much. The Kung pow chicken had a thin sauce that didn't stick to any of the meat The fried rice was not fried rice was more like brown rice. The sauce they with the egg roll was thin. Went to Oriental Garden tonight to celebrate Mother's Day. The service and food is better than ever! This was the first time we've been in since their recent remodel. The new dining area is great and new high back chairs are very comfortable. The bathrooms are newly remodeled as well and were clean. Been a community institution forever. Visited with family for dinner last night - had bought a Groupon deal. Have ordered food to go from here numerous times; the dine-in experience (a requirement of the Groupon deal) was equally good. Jason, our waiter, was excellent, as were the food and drink (Gekkeikan Plum Wine). Food arrived promptly, and the portions were more than ample. Pricing too has remained reasonable forever. We've been going to Oriental Garden for nearly 25 years. The food is almost always excellent. Unfortunately, they recently got rid of the free refill soda machine in favor of selling warm soda in a can for $2 each. For my kids and myself that would make the drinks more expensive than the entire meal. Plus the increased price of appetizers is now closer to an entree. I guess I'm switching to take-out and no appetizer. read more

Ordered Uber eats and wanted to try a new Chinese spot. I haven't found an all around good Chinese spot in my area and wanted to give it a try. I was definitely disappointed. Pros: they are fast. The portions were generous. The prices aren't bad. Cons: Greasy. The sweet and sour chicken was under cooked so the batter was raw inside. The egg roll was under cooked also. I have to give Oriental Garden's Five Stars because their food is really good. Also, when you dine in, their customer service is great. However, we oftentimes order online. On the phone app, when placing your order, there is a place to add a note. For the last three orders including tonight, my Note requesting extra sweet sauce was ignored "again". 3rd time in a row. I tried calling the restaurant in advance of receiving our order to remind them of their failure to read notes on online orders . I was placed on hold when I called and after 5 minutes, I hung up. It took me another 5 minutes to reach them again by phone. I explained the issue but that did't help. OMG! My wife and I LOVE this place. My favorite dish, and one i have NOT ever seen anywhere else ... It is only on their front board ... Honey Crispy Shrimp!!! OMG!!! You get plenty of nice sized shrimp, with a light, crisp coating, almost as if Air Fried, on a bed of cabbage. You dip your shrimp in a bowl of warm Honey sauce, and it just coats the shrimp! It is absolutely amazing! I am salivating about it right now! Three types of rice available to choose from, and their Egg Drop soup is my favorite, as it is thick and extremely tasty - not watered down like so many others! My wife has her favorites too, mainly different chicken items, usually with Brown rice. For soup though, she likes their Wonton soup, but occasionally she will get the Hot & Sour soup! read more

This restaurant is not one of the highest rated Chinese spots in the area, but it may be one of the fanciest (think old school Chinese). What I liked best was the pu pu platter which you can order individually, instead of paying full price for basically 2-3 people like at other szechuan chinese restaurants. For 6.95, you still receive nearly enough food for 2. The other dish I tried was the pepper steak and they use pretty good quality beef on this dish as well compared to other Chinese spots in town. The best part nay have been the prices on their menu. Many Chinese places in the burbs charge 10-15 for typical dinner entrees, but you can get many entrees here in the 8-12 range, which is surprising given the semi fancy interior. My table also ordered hunan beef. And this dish was not like other hunan beef and used completely different ingredients from any other restaurant in town and not in a good way, so I don't recommend that dish. Overall, I give them a 3.5, but round up for Yelp purposes. read more

Choose this place just for the convenience of being able to walk across the parking lot from work to get something to eat but now I found myself preferring to get my Chinese food from here even when I go all the way home. They have some of the best egg foo yung I have tried since being here in Texas. The gravy that comes with it is what really makes it. The slight sweet taste it has really compliments the foo yung. But even without the gravy it's delicious. The ambiance of the shop (from what I've been able to see from the front desk) is very relaxed and attractive. Wonderful, friendly staff that accommodates even the pickiest of palates! We go here at least once a week, and it's without a doubt, the best Chinese food around. Being from NY and eating in Chinatown, this place is the closest we have found to good Chinese food. Daily lunch specials never disappoint, and they have a wide variety of choices. Food was good. Too bad I didn't get all of the items I ordered in my delivery. I was missing soup and an eggroll. I tried calling, but the phone was forwarded to a message. It said that they were too busy to take calls. It would not have helped calling the Uber Eats guy. I hate being cheated. Sadly the broth was not good. Entrees were honey walnut chicken, shrimp with lobster sauce and pepper beef. Pepper beef was excellent, shrimp was good but sauce was runny like soup. Honey walnut chicken had NO flavor and was essentially boiled white meat chicken with a bunch of water chestnuts with some walnuts thrown on top for garnish. We fed the chicken to the dog. read more

It was simply chunks of meat and a dark, rich orange sauce with just a bit of pepper heat (you can order it much hotter if you'd like) - my mongolian beef had lots of vegetables instead of the green-onions-only I'm used to. Food: my son and I got the beef and broccoli. Not a fan at all. The beef is super tough and not tender at all. If you want really good Chinese good go to Qin dynasty off buffalo speedway. That's quality Chinese food. This place is simply low quality food. The wonton soup wasn't that good. The fried rice was dry and lacked flavor. The egg roll was super greasy lol. The only thing that was good was the broccoli drenched in the sauce and I HATE vegetables lol. Qin dynasty is my gauge for good Chinese food and this place is a huge let down. Just like thai gourmet is my gauge for epic Thai food. Do yourself a favor and go to Qin dynasty and you will then know what good Chinese food is. So I ordered a House Fried Rice and a Kung Pao Chicken through Uber Eats. I'm glad I pulled out the House Fried Rice first. It was the better of the two entrees. I'm pretty sure that this would be fried rice that Uncle Roger wouldn't hate, if you're familiar with the famous YouTube character. I wouldn't say that about the Kung Pao Chicken, though. The sauce was very runny, to the point of almost leaking out of the container. The chicken and vegetables, even when mixed within the sauce, were still bland and uninspiring. The white rice that came with it was borderline wet when I opened the container. The saving grace was a few peanuts that I found buried within the sauce that tasted good. But this is not Kung Pao Peanuts. This is Kung Pao Chicken, and should be more appropriately named Kung Pao Chicken Soup, because of how runny it was. Sorry, Oriental Garden. You're not terrible, but you've got a lot of work to do to impress people like me. read more

Oriental Garden is comfort food! They're located just down the street which makes it easy to order and always arrives warm! I'm a creature of habit so I order the same thing every time -- classic fried rice and Mongolian beef. Their egg drop soup is probably the best egg drop soup I've ever tried. Where do I begin. First off, restaurant is beautiful and clean. Location is so convenient! The staff is awesome, very attentive and nice. Our server was great! The food was sooo delicious!!!
