We stopped in here for a quick bite between errands and will definitely need to return again with a larger appetite. We ordered the duck bao which was delicious, although I forgot to take a photo! I did however get a photo of the green tea mochi because the staff made it look so cute! The mochi itself was delicious but I loved the extra effort that they put in to make it look so nice. I was a bit concerned when I pulled up because no one was there! But I was happy to see a super clean restaurant, a server with a smile, and madai and toro on the menu. That being said, madai and toro (...and yellowtail belly, and miso soup and crab ragoon) I ate! To my surprise, my nigiri arrived in a sushi boat! I will say the rice on the nigiri was incredibly delicate! Almost like it was only meant for the journey to the mouth (not from soy sauce to the mouth). I was very much a sushi sinner with my soy sauce but I paid the price by spilling in my lap! Even so, it was a nice and relatively quiet meal! The quality of the fish was nice (yellowtail being the least favorite, and toro being pretty buttery on this day). Excellent service! The staff are very kind-hearted and helpful. The sushi is so fresh and tasty, too. We tried the ahi tuna tower, and loved the mix! It was a little spicy (from spicy mayo), which I loved. The soft shell crab is perfect! The salmon roe is unique in that it was marinated. We enjoyed the favor immensely. The salmon sashimi is also spot-on. The Diablo Roll is pretty good. I liked the extra fish on the sides. The jalapeño is a great touch! The ambiance is pretty casual, but clean and modern. We arrived for lunch at 11:30, we were greeted by the only person working which was a shy young girl. She was the greeter, hostess and waitress. There was only one other worker behind the counter. When we arrived there was only one other table with customers so very slow as they opened at 11am After we were seated it took about 5-7 mins for waitress to take our drink orders as she was seating more customers as they arrived. after drinks arrived it took waitress another 5-7 mins before she came back to take our order. I ordered ramen, my son ordered sushi and soup for his 2 children and himself. My ramen arrived within 3-5 mins but it took another 10 mins to get one child's sushi, another 5+ mins to get my son's and other child's sushi. Really odd that they didn't wait for sushi to be ready and bring all at once. I hate eating my ramen while no one else had food at table. Once the sushi arrived my son said it was just OK, poorly cut pierces of fish, a few very thick and jagged I'm guessing whoever was working was not properly trained to make sushi. My ramen was great I ordered the tonkotsu and my son ordered salmon, yellow tail, octopus and a few others and 2 rolls. Both rolls were good but the sushi although presented nice wasn't visually the best and 2 sushi pieces (I think tuna) did not smell or taste right so he didn't eat them. Prices were fair, my ramen was good and the rolls were also good. but service was extremely slow. Probably won't return but maybe it was just a bad day or they were short staffed.. I actually doordashed food from this business and i was so impressed by everything i ordered i went the next day to pick up just so i could see WHO is making this delicious food!! when I went around three it was empty inside, but the host was very nice and I asked for extra spicy mayo and she gave it to me with no problems. I ordered yellowtail with Yuzu sauce, shrimp tempura and also eel avocado and everything was so fresh and delicious. It reminds me of my favorite sushi place. I used to frequent when I lived in Pennsylvania even the spicy mayo is really yummy and not spicy, but has a nice taste. i will be back! read more

My husband was in the mood for Ramen noodles and we decided to try this place. It's located in the Hobby Lobby plaza close to the Dollar Store. When we walked in there was a super strong ammonia or paint thinner smell that was overpowering! We ordered the edamame 3 orders of sushi, salmon hibachi, and black garlic pork Ramen. The edamame and sushi portions were really small compared to most places. The sushi tasted fresh and was delicious. The salmon hibachi tasted very fishy and didn't seem fresh at all. There are multiple bathroom deodorizers in the main seating area. The fragrance was too strong for me to handle sitting in the bar area or the little waiting area when I was waiting for my to-go order. Can't say much about the food other than I wanted to like it, but didn't. It just isn't my style of food. Hard for me to judge the food fairly because the deodorizers had my head killing me and I couldn't really taste or smell anything else even once I got home. That is how strong they were! read more

I was delighted to have tried this place and the food to be delicious! When I ordered with Uber Eats, sometimes soup came with the roll combo and sometimes it doesn't. I was confused. And then this last time, I was so let down. No soup and the tuna in the tuna roll looked like BEEF. I was so sad.. I really did like the place. I worked in a Japanese restaurant for over 8 years and we have NEVER sent out food looking like this. I hope they can do better in the future but I won't continue to be a customer. read more

A nice early dinner. The chicken katsu was pretty big and the curry was well balanced, not too overpowering. It had a sort of comforting feel. Tuna Crispy rice.. enough said the best creation ever. So yummy and a must have. The yellow tail tasted fresh and had a very clean taste to it. My sister got a teriyaki chicken bento that she inhaled, so I'll assume it was good and it came with a lot of food + variety. I'd say it's a good bang for your buck. I think this place is fairly new but we stumbled upon it, we were craving some Japanese food but wanted to travel some place close to home.  It was really good.  The service was great, the waitress explained everything on the menu.  Never had to want for anything, they were always available asking if we needed anything.   It wasn't crowded when we went, there's plenty of seating.  The décor was nice.  They have a full bar; with also includes Japanese beer and sake.  I was impressed.   We had the Miso Raman, Dragon Roll Sushi, and Miso Soup.  Everything was so delicious.    Will definitely revisit to try other items on their menu. read more

I won't rave about the Crab Rangoon's. Maybe they are frozen because they were not soft and flaky as one would expect. We did enjoy our 4 sushi rolls. We ordered Spicy California, Dragon Roll, Shaggy Dog, and Summer Roll (No rice roll). Our favs were the Spicy California Roll and Summer Roll. Wanting to eat ramen at somewhere other than Jinya in Cypress, my boyfriend and I decided to give this place a shot, and it was such a disappointing dinner. Food was not worth the money, service was slow, and it was overall not a good experience. Our waitress seemed super rushed. She would sit something on the table and immediately walk away without giving us a chance to say anything. The food was bad. The crab rangoon had little filling and didn't taste good anyway. We enjoyed our visit here to this sushi place just off 290 in Cypress. It's not fancy and things here are good, average, nothing particularly stands out. We got the deluxe tempura appetizer to share between the four of us and it was fairly large, including three generous pieces of shrimp tempura. Batter was good, flaky, not too oily, but could have been more seasoned. While most of the rolls were pretty good, the ones that particularly stood out to me was the dancing in the street roll. el, avocado, spicy tuna, top with salmon, tuan, ebi shrimp, albacore, snapper, avocado,eel sauce. The pan seared tuna was excellent and right on target. Perfectly seasoned. We also liked the non-rice roll, called "the cherry blossom" and love the combinations. One of our members in our party actually found a couple fish bones while chewing the fish. They took it to heart and they came out with a dessert on the house. Most amazing Japanese restaurant there is in cypress. Super small and comfortable. There's never a ton of customers inside EVER, which makes me upset because so many people don't know what they're missing out on. If you're an avocado fan.... GET THE MONKEY BRAIN as an appetizer. This sushi spot deserves more recognition! The workers were really sweet and although I ordered to go this time, I've eaten there as well and the environment is dark and cozy. Their rolls are a great size and a decent price for what it is. I loveeeee their crispy rice and spicy tuna, and order it every time I go! 10/10!! If you know me I'm always searching for new places to try sushi and this was on the way home from the gym. My wife and I stopped by since she was craving ramen as well. I typically order the menu when I try a new sushi place but as I was ordering she stopped me n asked if I wanted to try something different when I ordered a shaggy dog. I know shaggy dog is a basic roll but this was the first time someone asked me if I wanted to try something different than what I ordered. I wasn't even done ordering Some people may take that a different way but I was already planning to order a bunch of rolls so I let her sell me on some menu items. She wanted us to try their rolls so I figured she must think they're really good let's do it. We ended up ordering 2 ramen and a bunch of rolls and as I finish she asks if I like Toro. Of course I do lol. So she says u should try our Toro. I was like bet gimme what u got! I ordered more nigiri also and I can say I really enjoyed the food! Her suggestions were good and you can tell the quality of the sushi is not what you'd expect from a ramen place. The sushi quality is above and beyond any of the sushi places in the Cypress area even in Houston. The ramen was good. The meats were cooked well and the egg was perfect. After my first bite I was already impressed since I didn't expect it to be prepared this well. I'm not so much a ramen person but this was good ramen! For the sushi, I've been to just about every sushi place around Houston! If I haven't been it must be new.. Like this place was lol. This currently ranks as my top sushi place in Cypress. There are alot of sushi places rated high in the area but the quality does not match the reviews. This place is currently a hole in the wall! The place was empty when we went, yes I did come 40 min before closing, but it did not feel that way at all. I wish I took photos of the food to post but I eat sushi so much I don't even bother. This place deserved it tho so I will come back with fresh photos! Overall this place has the best sushi and ramen in the Cypress area hands down.
