    Miso Ramen
    Anthony N.

I walked into Yoko Japanese Kitchen with an appetite for comfort in a bowl, the kind of steaming, savory ramen that warms the soul. Unfortunately, what I got was a masterclass in disappointment. After an agonizing 25-minute wait, my expectations were high. But the first glance told the story, a thin, uninspired broth and limp noodles that looked eerily familiar. One bite confirmed my suspicion: this was less authentic ramen and more instant noodle survival kit, the sort of thing you whip up at home in 3 minutes when rent's due and you've given up on life. The broth lacked depth, umami, or any sign of slow simmering. It was watery, under-seasoned, and soulless, the kind of liquid that only makes the noodles soggy without giving them character. The toppings? Sparse and forgettable, as if they, too, had given up halfway through the meal. If Yoko wants to charge restaurant prices for ramen, they should start by actually serving ramen, not rebranded dorm-room noodles with a side of regret. Verdict: Skip it. Even a gas station cup ramen would've been a step up and much faster.

I thoroughly enjoyed eating here, I got the steak, shrimp & chicken. Watching them prepare the food with the show is fire , LITERALLY! The service was prompt, everyone was kind & humorous. I like how the lights are slightly dim it really sets the mood. The portion is huge, definitely will have enough to take home. That plum wine hits

My husband and I finally decided to try this place and it had its good and somewhat lack luster things about it. I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen with pork belly while he ordered the Bento Box with Teriyaki chicken. I wasn't super impressed with the ramen since it really just kind of tasted like the noodles you can buy in the store. The meats and vegetables were great though. My husband was just raving about his dish. The service was absolutely wonderful and our waiter was very pleasant. So, overall I would definitely say we will be back. However, I will just try something different. I recommend giving them a try!

    Sriracha onion rings

I heard good things about this place so decided to give it a try for lunch one day and it did not impress at all. The sriracha onion rings tasted like regular onion rings. I ordered the hibachi calamari lunch. The lunch was supposed to come with sauce, the waitress asked did I want the sauce and had an attitude when I said yes. The calamari was too fishy. I never once got the sauce. I was asked several times why I did not like the calamari. I literally only had one bite a day was over it. The place was not packed and it still took well over 45 minutes to get our food. The service was terrible. I never got the sauce, she said there was an incident. She shouldve told me that rather than just leaving me waiting. Definitely would not go back or recommend this place when there are several other japanese restaurants in the area with better food, service, and atmosphere

    Beef Teriyaki Bento Box

Pleasantly surprised! We went in for lunch and it was my first time. I ordered the beef teriyaki bento box and loved it. It was full of fresh ingredients and I left full. Our service was on point as she was very attentive to our party of four. I would take my family here to dine and will be back.

Served me low grade sirloin and tried to tell me it was filet mignon.

Dishonest business. I ordered the hibachi filet mignon and when the chef was cooking my food I could tell it was not filet. I asked him if he was sure and he assured me it was filet. Once it was on my plate and I tasted it I was absolutely positive it was not filet... it was either low grade NY strip or sirloin. I let our waitress know and she sent the manager over.. who proceeded to tell me that they just never know what they are going to get from their supplier... which ok maybe that's true but don't charge me $36 for filet mignon if it's not. Aside from the steak, the service is extremely slow. We went in for an early dinner (5:15pm) and waited at the door for 5 minutes before being helped... another hour til the chef came.. I would recommend just going down the road to another hibachi restaurant. Their prices are high for low quality food & service. They even have little round stickers with writing on their menu showing they've increased their prices.

Good food and service. Recommend going for lunch as their lunch menu is more reasonable.

The floors, the tables, the seating... everything was immaculate. I even went to the bathroom thinking there has to be something slightly off somewhere (because let's be real, restaurant bathrooms usually tell the truth)... but it was spotless too. Major points for cleanliness. I also didn't realize they have hibachi tables, which we will definitely be coming back to try. The sushi itself was delicious. I ordered the OMG Roll and the Shaggy Dog Roll, and both were huge compared to what you usually get elsewhere. Super fresh and really well made. My husband ordered two rolls and basically inhaled them. Great food, extremely clean restaurant, and a pleasant surprise overall. We'll definitely be back ...especially to try the hibachi next time

Walking in felt like a whole vibe. Inside? Huge open space, tall ceilings (like 20 ft tall tall), and giant windows overlooking the lake. Super clean, modern, and just aesthetically pleasing all around. Only tiny downside - the hibachi grill side faces the parking lot, and that's what we reserved. BUT even that side was still spacious and spotless, so honestly not a deal breaker. Lake side has the open bar + regular seating, and yes - outdoor seating too. Perfect for date nights or girls' nights. Now let's talk reservations because THIS matters... Super easy, no stress. Friendly on the phone AND in person (you know that's rare sometimes ). I walked in and I was greeted immediately. They gave me the option to sit at our table or wait for the rest of our group. I went ahead and sat, and the hostess still took drink orders while we waited - love that. A few people in our party were late and we ended up short, but the staff never made it awkward or rushed us. Just patient and kind the whole time. Once we got started, our chef understood the assignment Entertaining, funny, and had us all engaged. Birthday song onion ring volcano and we went 3/3 on rice-in-the-mouth basketball (very important stat). And the best part - the food was actually fresh and delicious. 10/10 recommend and definitely adding this one to the "we'll be back" list.

The teppanyaki show was fun, engaging, and very well done, and everything we tried tasted fresh and flavorful. The sushi was also surprisingly good. I ordered the Firecracker Roll and the King Maki, and both were excellent. For appetizers, we tried the Crab Puffs and the Hayashi Style Fried Calamari, which were great starters and full of flavor. The complimentary soup that comes with the meal was pretty good as well and a nice way to start the dining experience. The hibachi itself was also very good, and the menu offers a wide variety of meats to choose from depending on what you're in the mood for. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is because of the service. Our server made us feel a bit rushed during the visit, which took away slightly from the overall experience. Aside from that, the food and the teppanyaki performance were excellent, and I would definitely come back.

We were excited to come here for her birthday, as the last time we were here the experience was wonderful. This time not so much. For starters, she ordered the Agedashi tofu and stated multiple times she did not want fish flakes on it. There was confusion as the menu provided to us does not state that there is fish flakes on the dish. Upon receiving the appetizer, she immediately stated that it was incorrect and had asked there be no fish flakes. The person who brought it to us, I assume was the manager, said nothing, he looked at it and turned around and took it back to the kitchen. Albeit he seemed annoyed to do so. We also ordered the pork gyoza which came out perfect. The server did apologize and we all acknowledged the confusion about the fish flakes, as they are not listed in the physical menu. We then proceeded to order the full size teriyaki steak bento box to share. Which comes with either fried or steamed rice, two egg rolls, two carb puffs, the teriyaki steak, four pieces of a California roll, choice of soup and some orange slices. Which I read to the server. We state to our server that we want steamed rice, miso soup and that we are sharing the bento box, as there was confusion if we were getting two full orders. I then say that I would like to add a side of spicy mayo, eel sauce and the crunch flakes so that I can add them to the four pieces of the California roll in the bento box. There was a back and forth between my friend and myself and the server, which the conversation ended with what I believed was a clear understanding that I wanted these sauces to add to the roll that came with the bento box. In turn what happened was the miso soup was brought out followed by the bento box. There were no sauces to go with the roll. I looked at the box and said that the sauces we had asked for were not there, to which our server stated that the California roll was at the sushi bar. At this point my friend and I were both confused as we did not order an additional California roll. The server then seemed to kind of push it on to us as it was already "made and ready". But again we never ordered this. So we denied receiving it. Our server then takes the bento box from the table back to the kitchen and goes and speaks to the same man, we presumed was the manager. He looked at our table, continued speaking with the server and never spoke to us directly. Our server brings back our bento box, with now four new pieces of the california roll, but does not bring the sauces that were initially asked for, and begins to tell me that the california roll does not come with those said sauces on it or crunch flakes. At this point I did show frustration and state to the server that I was aware those things did not come on the roll, which is why I ordered them as an extra side. Our server states the sauces were an upcharge and I said that was fine, I was more than okay with paying an additional charge. We finally get the sauces we wanted for our roll, the server apologizes again and lets me know we were not charged for the two sauces due to the confusion. We say thank you and overall enjoy our meal. My friend and I also both had one glass of peach wine each. When our server came back to check on us, my friend and I both stated, we wanted to order one glass of wine that we would split. When the server came back with two refill pours, we both were over the experience. We knew immediately we would be charged for two refills, even though we ordered one to split, which we would have been fine splitting ourselves. We just accepted that our order was messed up again. We lastly ordered the banana split pie, which nowhere on the menu card (as it is on the table in the standing display) states that there are nuts. It was when we received it that we learned there are nuts, and unfortunately I have a nut sensitivity and my mouth did start to itch and burn. At the end of the day the overall experience was not the best. I feel our server may have been new and ill prepared. But managent not talking to us, and having what seemed to be annoyance for us sending back an incorrectly prepared dish. As well as their physical menus not accurately stating what is in a dish, just overall made this a crappy experience. Which is disappointing as our first time there, was a complete 180 of this experience. The food quality was great and the restaurant was clean and comfortable. I enjoy their food but probably will not eat there again anytime soon.
