Lunch outing
Aliscia Louis ..

If you're expecting to be greeted while ordering your food or serviced, don't be surprised if you don't. This is my fourth time having lunch at this spot and my overall experience has been okay. I always dine inside after ordering a smoothie and chicken Pho, while waiting for the food to be brought to the table, and the wait is reasonable, the only issue I have, is that they always forget to provide me with a soup spoon, the regular plastic spoons on the table can't hold the herbs, broth, and noodles. The food is seasoned well and full of flavor, the place is clean but a little tight for comfort.

Plenty of seating inside, and I appreciated how many condiments were readily available on the tables--definitely convenient! Unfortunately, the popcorn chicken was too greasy and had more breading than chicken, which was a letdown. The banh mi didn't sit well with me either, ir had an unpleasant taste, like something in it was past its prime. Wouldn't rush back, but at least they've got a spacious setup if you're in a pinch. They do offer good lunch specials and other combos throughout the day. Service staff were all welcoming and nice.

Vietnamese coffee

Great setting in Copperfield to grab lunch or dinner or just a coffee. Ordered a pork ban mi (traditional) and a Vietnamese coffee with less sugar. The sandwich has the right amount of pickled carrots , cucumbers and hot peppers to balance the taste of the grilled pork. Love the sandwich! I love strong coffee but need to watch my sugar levels so I got the Vietnamese coffee with less coffee. The cashier warned me the coffee would be more bitter. It gave me the kick I needed and the taste was not bad at all. I have also had the vermicelli with pork and I enjoyed that dish as well. Come try this quaint place

This place is okay. I've tried their pho and I've tried their banh mi and while it's good, I have my own grievances with either dish. Regarding the pho, I feel like it isn't as flavorful or as well-cooked as it could be. This could be my personal preference, but I like more flavor in my pho. It's just very, very light and one-note. The accoutrement help a bit but not much - I wish the meat brought something more to the party. Their banh mi is decent; however, I got a rogue jalapeño once and it was EXTREMELY SPICY - I cried! I feel their vermicelli bowls are where it's at. I love their grilled pork and the egg rolls they serve with is phenomenal. The staff are never very engaging. They always seem to be in a bit of a rush. The atmosphere is okay, we always sit at the benches in the back because they have a good view. I'll come again for a weekday, but Banh Mi and Tea won't ever be a place I think of on the weekend or the venue when I'm celebrating something major.

I loveBanh Mi so muchhhh. This is my first time I try Banh Mi in US and I feel like in my home country

Enjoyed my time here. They have a large menu of Banh mi, pho, pick your meat and sides and tea. I even saw tacos on the menu! We went on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and there were lots of people coming in and out. Always a good sign! I ordered the pork and vermicelli. The pork was well seasoned although somewhat chewy. The funny thing is that it tasted better as leftovers! Not sure if it was the condensation that made it a little more tender or the seasonings on the meat overnight. Overall, a delicious meal. The staff was very friendly and the food came out promptly. The egg rolls was delicious too - hot and crunchy. I will probably come back and get the pho. That looked delicious!

This place has really good matcha latte, and their food is amazing, best Bánh mì ever!

The peach tea was so good and had good sweetness to it, I got a chicken banh mi with fries combo the fries were crispy and fresh but was definitely missing salt to it, the banh mi was good but I was missing more flavor to it. I would come back but next time I'm trying a different banh mi and ask for more of the sauce that goes in it.

UPDATE - Ordered here a couple times via Uber Eats and kept giving this place additional chances because of the options they had! For a Cypress banh mi, this place is pretty good with options but it's definitely hit and miss. We've gotten different banh mi's from here and the best one is the Korean style beef and grilled pork. ** must try their macarons - ube and fruity pebble flavors! I was hesitant to order from here but they turned out super fresh and delicious!! The macarons were big and filled with deliciousness! Flavor was there too.

They say there is no lunch that is free, And this one will cost seven fifty, But it's worth every penny, Cuz like Forrest loved Jenny, You'll love every bite of Banh Mi. The drinks here are damn good as well, Made with skill and with love, I can tell, In each sip you will revel, And if Barbi's the devil, Then I always want to be in hell. Houston's west end has some great meals, But no surprise when Fox E reveals, This is a damn good Viet sandwich, And I'm Barbi's fave man which, Means I get to take off her heels. I know some are jealous of me, Because I'm semi-dating Barbi, She said, take my V-Card, Then go hit the gym hard, And then take me to Banh Mi & Tea. What to get: Banh Mi & Drinks. What about the Tea?!: Those are the drinks, genius. Some Vietnamese sandwiches use Bad Meat & Tea but this place does not. It's perfect. They have good drinks and very tasty food at this excellent Vietnamese place here in the Vietnamese capital of the world - at least the Western world - Houston. The Sandwiches are excellent and spring rolls are good, and we enjoy their drinks as well. You have to come and try them for yourself. People are always like "let's listen to USA For Africa and drink coffee." I'm like, no f***ing way. I prefer Band Aid & Tea. The restaurant is very spacious and well-laid-out. The decor is nice, and on the whole, this is definitely one of the better Vietnamese sandwich shops than we've been to, especially out here on Highway 6. In other news - This place keeps giving me warnings and more warnings and "final warnings" for all of my public lewdness and obnoxiousness on their property. They also keep getting tea spillages, and are trying to figure out how to stop all future tea spillages. I don't understand why they don't just Ban Me & Tea from their establishment. Seriously though, I highly recommend this place to everyone out on Hwy 6 looking for drinks and snacks. And David Duchovny had an affair with me while he was married to Leoni. I told him, you don't have to choose between us bro. You can just Bang Me & Tea.

Egg Rolls

this is officially my second visit, but first review of Banh Mi and Tea. It is located between Sprouts and Snappy Nail Salon. It's easy to find since it is the only Banh Mi place in this lot. As you walk inside, you are greeted with good music and a sort of warm cozy environment. The food here is fresh and seems to be consistent to my last visit. My egg rolls came out piping hot with the perfect crispness. I also ordered a pork banh mi with extra patí. This was definitely good to the last bite, its actually the reason i came back and it was worth it! Pairing all of this with a Tai tea to wash it all down.. As for service it's tipically average for a bang mi shop, but if i had to rate it they still get 5 stars for walking the food to my table and checking up on me.

I totally get the hype about this place! If I lived nearby, you can bet I'd work my way through…read moretheir whole menu. There's just something different about this style of sandwich. I've had sandwiches in NYC and Boston, but Tony's were definitely better! The menu is overwhelming because so much sounds good, so we went with two 7 inch sandwiches to split--one hot and one cold. Although a helpful tip from the cashier is that you can order any cold sandwich hot. We had the Lucky Luciano (hot) and the Sophia (cold). Both were really good--it was hard to choose between the two. But if I'm being honest, that cold sandwich was reminiscent of subs I loved in the early 2000s from places that no longer exist...with that super thinly sliced turkey, thick slice of Swiss cheese, and basil mayo--it really hit the spot. We also had a cannolo--not as good as others I've had. The bottled root beer was delightful. The Lucky Luciano was the kind of sandwich I came here for, and don't get me wrong, it is deliciously cheesy and will make your hands messy. But the Sophia is the kind of sandwich I'll be craving. My only regret was not taking a sandwich to-go for later. Open a location closer to Houston, please. :)

Many visits later it pains me to remove a star FOR BEVERAGE ISSUES ONLY (the food is still…read morefantastic). They are a pepsi place (booooooo!), and there's no diet pepsi (pepsi zero is their only zero calorie soda option). If you drink Diet Coke (most popular diet drink in USA), then you don't want diet pepsi, but you'll probably drink it if you have to; however, you're very likely to hate pepsi zero (and Coke Zero, too), so no soda for you here anymore! A full Coke setup that also includes Dr Pepper AND Diet Dr Pepper is ideal. I realize a pepsi fountain is more profitable because of distributor incentives, but pepsi is favored by almost nobody and hated by many...so is it really worth it? Tony's is so great that pepsi just does not fit in. Hopefully they don't deteriorate further and change to Wonderbread for all of their sandwiches. Bottom line: at the very least, please add diet pepsi to your soda machine if that brand remains in place.

Now, I thought I could just stop by and grab my order in about five minutes... that was not the case. It took well over 30 minutes. However, I do want to recognize the customer service, especially the gentleman in the red shirt who was running the cash wrap. He was very attentive and made sure orders were moving and getting out to customers. When I followed up on my order (about 20+ minutes in), he let me know there were about 9-10 subs ahead of mine due to a lot of online orders. Once I got my food, I thanked him and let him know next time I'll definitely be ordering online. If you're planning to grab lunch and not dine in, I highly recommend ordering ahead to save time. Now, the food... the sub was 10/10 amazing. I got the Jamaican Red Buffalo Chicken. Highly recommend. The only thing I want to point out is there was a guy working with bell peppers who came to the front line and started handling food for customers. He had on gloves and headphones, but when a customer asked him a question, he used his gloved hand to move his headphones, then went right back to handling food without changing gloves. Other than that, I'll definitely be back!!!!

This is the one and only location here and a great stop for all kinds of sandwiches. Their menu includes innovative offerings and iconic flavors, essentially the best of both worlds. If you're craving a classic or simple sandwich, you can get that. However, if you're looking for something special or out of this world, you can also get it. Ike's specializes in sandwiches with their Dutch Crunch bread and Dirty Sauce, both unique in its own way. Whether you're a meat lover, vegetarian, vegan, or on a gluten-free diet, their menu has it all. I personally am not a super fan of the Dutch Crunch bread since I find it a bit too harsh on the palate and somewhat dry, but love the Dirty Sauce (make it extra or on the side). I enjoy subbing the Dutch Crunch with either French or Sourdough. With over 300 unique sandwiches on the menu, there's a sandwich for everyone. My favorites have been the Menage A Trois (halal chicken, honey mustard, BBQ Sauce, real honey, pepper jack, swiss, cheddar), Ike's Reuben (pastrami, mack Sauce, purple slaw, gouda), Joker (all beef meatballs, fried zucchini, Ike's red pesto, ranch), and Grant Pinkerton, a Houston exclusive (Pinkerton Brisket, pastrami, BBQ aioli, provolone). All of my sandwiches have been stuffed and tasty, worth it! However, I find some menu items to be subpar in quality and flavor (chicken strips). The service is typically quick, efficient, and friendly. There are more than a handful of tables inside and some out on the patio. The shared parking lot can get very crowded as it is packed with lots of other businesses.

Honestly, in the beginning it was pretty rough, slow service, incorrect orders, and the sandwiches just weren't as good as what I was used to getting in California. That said, I kept coming back every now and then hoping things would improve, and I'm glad I did. My last few visits have been great. The sandwiches have been fresh and really tasty, and the customer service has been solid. I also spoke with Jose, and he mentioned he's been working hard to turn things around, and it definitely shows. Not sure why they don't have more locations yet, but I hope they expand soon!
