Came here spontaneously for my boyfriends birthday dinner when Papas Raw Bar was full. This place was meant to be. He loved the prime rib. Perfect medium. And so tender. I had the oxtail and it was so juicy and flavored perfectly. We had the mushroom to start, and finished with creme brûlée. Great wine selections Wonderful dining experience. If you are looking for a semi-formal, full-service fine dining experience in the traditional table cloth setting with fantastic food and you can pay up, then this is your place. I might be getting picky when it comes to figuring out where to take someone on a nice date. I don't want it to be in Waikiki because it's just too much hubbub. The tables have to be spaced adequately apart and the atmosphere is casual (so, you don't feel like you have to be tense in proper stuffiness the whole time) yet intimate, and set up for a "private" dining experience, where I feel safe to talk without the next table listening in. The food has to be great, oh, and since I last minute planned this, I have to be able to get a table NOW. So, of course, that wasn't happening in town. Also, I still can't think of a place in town, anyway. Townies don't like to voyage out of town, but this place hit all the above points, so off to Hawaii Kai, I drove. Even more so - this place better be worth it. And it delivered! Great service that was friendly and formal (a difficult line to walk nowadays). Food was fantastic - some of the best fine dining. The beef quartet had the scrumptious roots of good ol' home cooking while still maintaining the presence of fine dining. For vegetarians, you can request a vegetable pasta (that's actually good!) but I would like to see at least one vegetarian menu option that displays the thought and talent shown to other main dishes. The interior is dim with dark wood and reminiscent of a classic French bistro, a journey away from the modern interior design trends of present-day but it all delivers. So, I'll be back! read more

I recently had dinner at Le Bistro. My dinner was delicious. I had their special cauliflower appetizer, as well as their duck entree. I tasted my husband's cream of mushroom soup that was the best I have ever had. The chocolate mousse desert that I had was a wonderful way to end the meal. This place is amazing! The food is incredible on its' own, but to make it even better, it is mostly gluten and dairy free! Those of us on restricted diets need never feel deprived here! From the garlic pesto escargot with gluten free bread, to the roasted cauliflower with rosemary, golden raisins, garlic and shallots, to the bee pollen encrusted goat cheese, this place is FANTASTIC!! Just had a very nice experience at Le Bistro. My husband and I were not able to be with our families for Passover seder this year and we noticed the restaurant's pre fixe holiday dinner. Four courses for $39. When we got there we received a mini seder plate and matzah, and could have received a free glass of sweet wine. We opted for a bottle of white instead. Overall, we really enjoyed the food. I had a salmon and whitefish terrine with beets and greens to start, and my husband had an apple-walnut-blue cheese salad. Both we great and we equally enjoyed the cup of matzoh ball soup with vegetables. The entrees were good, just not out of this world. We had brisket and roast chicken with carmelized vegetable and a potato cake. The chicken was pretty moist, but the brisket could have been more tender. Dessert was a choice of profiteroles (which looked like cream puffs) and vanilla ice cream/gelato with raisins. The ice cream was so creamy and delicious and the profiteroles were good too. We are definitely thinking about going back next year, although the service was kind of all over the place. Not sure if they were overwhelmed by a full restaurant, but we were helped by 3-4 different people who seemed a bit scattered. We'll have to go back on a non-event night and try the regular menu. read more

Highly recomend this place! I've been looking for another french restaurant other than Sage in FTL. They have a $50 / head prefix menu that is amazing- it includes 4 courses and a bottle of delicous wine! If you are not interested in the wine you only pay $35! Le Bistro uses the freshest ingrediants from the most trusted sources. We started with the Bee pollen goat cheese. Their crisp salads are made with organic greens, vegetables, and house-made ceasar parm dressing! The Filet of Chilean Sea Bass was very tasty along with the Rack of Lamb. The Chef / Owner was very nice, along with the personable server. We will be coming back! read more

Amazing experience When my wife and I arrived one night at Le Bistro, we had no expectations whatsoever. We had heard about the place from a friend who bought us a gift certificate, so we decided to check it out. How I wish we had known about this place earlier! It's a family owned place with great food and great staff. Kyle, our waiter, made sure we were happy throughout our dining experience. While we had enjoyed ourselves so far, the real treat came when the entrees came to our table. We both had beef wellington, my favorite dish. The amount of time and effort the cook must have put into that dish was obvious, the rare beef, mushrooms, and pastry were all extraordinary, obviously no expense was spared when making it. I really wanted to like this place... I traveled far just to eat there and from the get go it started off bad. I don't think it was intentional but the waiter while seating us broke a glass on the table and it flew all over me. Then to find out what I wanted to order wasn't available for one person (Beef Wellington) and I'd have to order to portions for one order totaling $110. I specifically called prior to going and when i got there it was a different story and I could t order it for myself. And with that we just decided to eat elsewhere. So I can't give a review on the food because we never ordered. Too bad. Maybe one day I'll try again and order something else, but don't know if I'd travel that far again in fear of another disappointment. I hate writing this review because I really did want to try this and love it. Parking is decent from what I can tell if you get there early. They have specific parking spots for them. This is me and my wife's favorite restaurant in Florida. Every time we eat there it's the same thing. A bite, than the words "this is so good you have to try this". Than another bite and repeat it! Our two favorite items are the Risotto and the steak Diane, but in truth we have never had a bad dinner here. The atmosphere is cozy and the food is amazing! I loved this place. By accident I saw the youtube videos when Gordon Ramsey went to do a show there. It was all rubbish, the service was great and the food was very good. I met the owner and shared a laugh. My waiter Kyle was great. He knew his stuff. A little far from Miami but well worth the trip. Risotto was light and tasty. Deserts are stuff that dreams are made of quality. The fix price menus are generous and a really nice deal. You should come out of here smiling. read more

Was driving past so decided to try restaurant tonight with wife and daughter . Overall food was great, clear the chef has real talent. Had salad and poutine special to start and full of flavor. I had lamb and was cooked as requested but a real nice touch was the hash it came with, and different textures and flavors in the veg. Wife and daughter had the steak and they devoured it. Cute little place. Parking is difficult but be patient. We started with the mushroom soup with loads of wild mushrooms in it very tasty. Honey goat cheese very small but very good Entrees were shrimp risotto which was very nicely created and filling. Dover sole was out of this world. Nice wine list selections. Went here for the first time this evening since recently moving to Boca...LOVED every second and every delicious bite! Wonderful welcoming atmosphere! And super fun when we found out the chef is a fellow Brit! Everything was made from scratch (worth every minute waiting...it's not fast because everything is made to order with care! It was relaxing with a glass of wine!) even the fresh homemade warm bread! And then a surprise palette cleanser a gorgeous lemon granitas! My daughter and I had the NY Strip (special) and my husband had the lamb...then homemade Chocolate Torte and homemade profiteroles! To be honest though we were all digging into each other's plates for bites!!! It was that good! Best Fries around!!! Tonight we also had the oxtail poutine special!!! Delicious!!! My partner and I happened to have a Christmas Eve dinner here last night, based on their beautiful website. We were expecting to experience delicious French food in an elegant atmosphere. Well, scratch that. This is a small restaurant out of a strip mall, which has awful decorations. The food was decent, but the service was questionable. We were hearing the arguments between our server and the chef, as he walked into the vestibule in front of the kitchen, loudly reiterating our orders. The chef would loudly admonish him for serving the wrong wine, etc.. The whole place was decorated with an amateurish bad taste. This ranks as one of the worst restaurant experiences my family and I have had...EVER. I decided to celebrate the Jewish New Year on September 24, with my family (5 adults and one 4 1/2 year old) by dining at Le Bistro. Because one of my daughters has dietary restrictions, she emailed the restaurant owners and was assured that they would prepare a special meal for her with assorted grilled vegetables and a small amount of Risotto. Upon arrival, we were shown to our table. Of the 3 chairs on each side, the chair next to a wall and window with a standing lamp, left little room for my daughter to move. When seated, she sat on the base of the lamp. "Tight" is an understatement. The owner was unwilling to remove the floor lamp (very light) or rearrange the seating. The waiter helped by moving the table several inches away from the wall, which gave my daughter enough room to eat. We decided to stay, but in hindsight, that was a bad decision. Indeed, because other than the excellent service from the waiter, it was all downhill from there and not worth the $303.66 we paid for 5 adults and 1 child. The meal, which was advertized as a traditional Rosh Hashanah meal, consisted of a choice of appetizer, entrée and dessert. The cost was $35 per person, and $18 for children 12 and under. The matzo ball soup was tasteless. The salad was minuscule, but tasty. The brisket was very good, although 3 slices hardly made it worth $35. The salmon was very good, but again, the very small size did not warrant the $35 price. The "Special Dish" that they prepared for my daughter was supposed to be Assorted Grilled Vegetables with a small amount of risotto, was served 5 minutes after other entrees were served. It turned out to be a "no-flavor-at-all" risotto with a few carrots and green beans. Vegetables were not grilled. And, I must not forget to mention that they charged $12 for one glass of prosecco sparkling wine? How do you pronounce "overcharge"? For dessert, most of us opted for the "Fuji apple strudel. Sounded wonderful but in reality, not very good at all! The owner should try the heavenly Apfel Strudel served at Josef's Table in Boca Raton. There's absolutely no comparison! To top off this remarkable evening, my daughter (with the disappointing risotto) was supposed to get assorted berries for dessert (as promised by the owner in advance). The waiter tried to serve her apple strudel, to which she said that she ordered "assorted berries." They took back the strudel and served her Crème Brule. She explained again that she had ordered and wanted, "assorted berries." So what came next? Not assorted berries, but instead, the so-called "berry blintz" (loaded with soar cream). Really? If she wanted a berry blintz, she would have asked for it. She picked at the berries but that was it. It was pretty soggy and not very good. The point of asking for plain berries was to accommodate my daughter's dietary regime. And now for the kicker! The bill came with a 20% gratuity added. I know I should have argued the point, as nowhere was that noted. However, by this time, I was so disgusted that I decided not to argue the point. Besides, with the exception of dessert, the service was (until dessert was served) the best part of the meal. I understand that Le Bistro is one of the restaurants taking part in "Dine-Out Lauderdale," which started October 1, 2014. Needless to say, we'll pass. Server was really rude when 3 of my party of 12 wanted to order from the specials menu. The food was forgettable. I really expected more considering we spent well over $60 a person. My boyfriend and I saw Le Bistro on Kitchen Nightmares, and were excited to try the food. We made a reservation, and from start to finish it was an absolute pleasure! Starting off we were served fresh baked bread (as we later learned made with literally only 5 ingredients, it was fabulous!) We each ordered our own four courses off the Prix Fixe, my boyfriend had the Crab Cakes and I the escargot. Both were fantastic! For my second course I had the fruit granite - shaved ice with fresh fruit (passion fruit shaved ice!) and it was delightfully refreshing and the fruit was so fresh! Our main entrees were the filet mignon (my boyfriend barely had to put pressure on the knife to cut his filet! it was like butter! cooked medium) and I the decadence. The way the flavors blend so harmoniously is amazing. By this point we both figured we'd be STUFFED since we normally don't eat such big portions, but we were ready for dessert! The way Chef Andy prepares his meals they are so light and amazing that you don't feel like a giant glutton after eating (or regret eating so much!) For dessert he had the fruit granite (it was that good!) and I had a warm apple dessert with vanilla ice cream. I've never had apples that were so fantastic! The pastry was perfectly topped with (baked?) apples, and cinnamon and vanilla ice-cream. On the drive home we both realized that we didn't feel overly-full or like dying, even though we just had four courses! Portion size is perfect! The service was excellent, and perfectly timed between each course. After our meal, Chef Andy came out and spoke with us and we had an excellent time chatting it up. He's a real pleasure and you can tell his work is his life and passion. His wife is an absolute pleasure, very very sweet woman, who makes a mean fruit granite!
