I went to le bistro For a nice date night. They had the entire menu labeled for allergens specifically gluten-free. We ordered the crabcakes which we were so excited to be gluten-free. After I had already eaten the crabcakes the waiter told me that they were not gluten-free. The manager then proceeded to blame me as a customer, threatened us, and kicked us out of the restaurant. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Continually, the owner who has responded to this review was not even at the restaurant when the incident happened. Over the top Fantastic!! From the fabulous Goat Cheese App, to our steaks, to the great service, to the wine and desert, it was all fantastic! Thank you Elin and Andy! Started with the Bee Pollen Goat cheese, it was terrific! My husband had the Hangar Steak and I had the Petit Filet, we cut both with our forks and I have never had such a tender And flavorful steak! I had the red zin sauce and I loved it on top of everything! My husband said his steak was cooked perfectly, the truffle butter and mashed potatoes were delicious and loved it all! I was amazed that this restaurant was not full to capacity! It was a Sat night and there was plenty of room! It shouldn't be! We frequent the Ft. Lauderdale area a lot and were looking for something new and different other than the usual spots along Las Olas or the beach. A quick Yelp search brought us to Le Bistro. At first we were a little confused regarding parking, as there is another restaurant in the same strip mall that has valet. Make sure to look for their own spots reserved in the evening with signs and cones. This seems to be a common thing for smaller restaurants when parking is limited and they don't have valet. The restaurant is small with a limited staff, but our server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the food. We had the mushroom soup and the goat cheese salad for appetizers. Both were full of flavor and good portion size. For entrees, my wife had the trout special, and I had the Steak Diane. Both were excellent choices and prepared well. I must say the NY strip steak was one of the most tender pieces of that cut I have ever had. I also tried my wife's trout and it was full of flavor and tasted great! We weren't fans of their dessert choices, but we are somewhat picky with dessert and since we were full from dinner we didnt want to take a chance on dessert if we were just going to pick at it. We were happy to find the rare French restaurant in South Florida. The fish was cooked perfectly, Yellowfin Tuna. My girlfriend's Tar-tar I believe, was excellent also. The appetizer was amazing. Wow. This restaurant is so beautiful and ambient from the moment you walk in. Our waiter was so friendly and guided us through the menu and the specials. The dishes are all so creative and delicious. I ordered the cauliflower steak and the scallops creme brûlée as an appetizer and the shrimp risotto for my main entree. It was absolutely delicious. They were all so amazing and they portions are not your typical tiny size. We left with left overs to go. They have an extensive wine list. Ask for a recommendation! The waiter is very well informed. Celebrating our daughters birthday, We enjoyed EVERYTHING. Just made a new reservation for a celebration coming up July 1st We were there as a family of 5 and we all ordered a different entree and passed tastes around. It was fun, and super excellent. The steak Diane, lamb chops, mushroom rosetto were favorites and all vegetables were super fresh and very tasty. The dine around brought us to this restaurant for the first time we were five. We ordered water with lime or lemon. The waitress said there would be an additional charge of a dollar for the lemon or lime as it cost the restaurant money. We agreed to pay. When she presented us the bill she said she did not charge us for the lemon wedge. The escargot was delicious the lamb appetizer was okay the main course was not well presented but tasted okay The fish was good but the lamb was just okay, The desserts were fine. I ordered a complete dinner for my wife's retirement celebration. I picked up the order and it was ready as scheduled. The owners could not be more cooperative. They gave me instructions for warming each dish. The instructions were so complete and easy to follow. It took only minutes before we had the first course on the table. We started with the escargot that was very fresh and the garlic butter sauce was perfect. We had several main entres. Again the instructions were quick and simple to follow. My wife and daughter had the beef Wellington that had a wonderful flaky crust with the most tender fillet and cooked perfectly. The lamb chops were again awesome and cooked perfectly. The steak Diane was tender and the sauce was delicious. All the sauces were done true to a 5 star French restaurant. Of course the deserts were as good as the meal. It is amazing that you can have a fantastic French dinner as a take out but LeBistro made it happen. It is she who has removed all desire within me to ever give this establishment another chance. The food was fine. I loved this little bistro. It reminded me of my favorite French restaurant in California, where the entire staff was legit from France. The food was prepared perfectly and very authentic. I had steak au poivre, which was excellent. The best I have had since we left California. My husband wanted some things off menu which they were very happy to accommodate. Got a response from the owners wife saying sorry and to contact her through yelp for assistance. Whether you do or not charge a table cloth fee Ellen your server as well the owners wife tried to charge us one. Your comment about our is very disrespectful especially considering "underdressed outfits were at least $2000 a piece each of us. Food was alright spent thousands with you guys was treated rudely because I look "young"??? That is discrimination. Really stupid on there side considering I would've ordered at least another $1000 worth of food on delivery as each order always exceeds $100 and 10 order goes by fast. This is a hidden gem!!! Actually was heading for another recommended restaurant close by but wasn't impressed. Decided to try le bistro. So glad we did!! The food here is absolutely outstanding. Had the escargot followed by steak Diane. Cut and cook was perfect. My wife had the crispy duck salad (soooo good) and the fresh salmon. Service was impecable. Very friendly and informed. Wow... still amazed by the impolitelness even through the internet. If you read the comment the issue use of us having to relocate tables was the manner in which we were asked to move. Had someone explained the reason we would have understood. Instead we were told to change. Aditionally when we decided to leave, of course we expected to pay for what we consumed but i wouldnt so impolitely say to someone "you will need to pay" as for what restaurant i manage. After seeing this restaurant on Kitchen Nightmares, I was a bit skeptical. Did they really turn this place around? After reading positive reviews on Yelp and elsewhere I thought I would give it a try. We started off with the bee pollen goat cheese. I thought it was artistically presented, and the combination of the cheese, chives, almonds and honey worked very well together! I noticed a lavender taste which was interesting, unexpected but not in a bad way. Next was the beef wellington. It absolutely melted in my mouth! It came out quickly and medium rare as promised. I loved the wine sauce used with it, it added a really nice flavor! We finished off with the brownie and ice cream which was also very good, and drisselled with plenty of chocolate sauce! The service was actually really quick also! The beef wellington was supposed to take 30 minutes but it came out quicker than that. We never had to wait for anything really. I'm very late on this review as I came here for Thanksgiving dinner. Since it was just me and my boyfriend this year, and I don't eat meat anymore, I figured going out to dinner would be our best bet for him to get turkey and me not to have to deal with a dead bird. I researched a bunch of restaurants when Savanna M mentioned that she had received an email from Le Bistro with their Thanksgiving offerings. I looked it up and was pleased to find that they were offering traditional Thanksgiving meals as well as a vegetarian option. I was also pleased that I was able to make my reservation through open table. The reservation was for 7pm Thanksgiving Day. We arrived and entered the restaurant. It is pretty small inside and I definitely wouldn't recommend coming without reservations. The entrance area is very small and I was uncomfortable waiting for them just to come up and greet us and get us to our table, I can't imagine if you had to wait there for any period of time. This restaurant has a very quaint feel, and on the inside you feel like you're in a small house up north, definitely not a South Florida vibe, but it was cozy for the occasion. We placed an order for a bottle of wine, and decided on our meals. The menu was three courses for ~$35 a person. We both started with the autumn salad. This was a delicious salad with cranberries, almonds, green apples, blue cheese, and a dijon dressing. I've been trying to recreate a similar salad at home since then, and I just can't seem to get it quite as good. For the entree my boyfriend went with the traditional Thanksgiving dinner while I went for the vegetable plate. I loved the green beans and creamy mushrooms on the veggie plate, but the main item, an acorn squash stuffed with sweet potatoes left a little to be desired. I think I wanted the squash a little more cooked for some creaminess. I also wish they had traditional white potatoes as my boyfriends meal also came with a sweet potato. The cranberry sauce was good with a nice tartness and not too much sugar added. My boyfriend was very happy with his turkey, and he also had the green beans and mushrooms I did on his plate. Dessert was up next. I ordered the pecan pie as it is one of my favorites, but waayyyyy too much sugar for everyday life. It was quite delicious with a really nice crust. My boyfriend ordered the apple tart and pastry in that was great also. The service here kind of went along with the atmosphere. It wasn't a five star restaurant service feel, but more like a homey feel where you could see the staff bringing the food from the kitchen and the owner stopped by to chat and see how things were. With the bottle of wine and tip our Thanksgiving dinner was less than $100, I didn't have to deal with a raw turkey, and I didn't have to clean up. I also didn't have pesky leftovers tempting me in the fridge for a week after while I'm trying to diet. I was pleased with the meal, and I would love to come back and try their regular menu. WHAT A HIDDEN LITTLE GEM!! First time dining here and we were blown away starting from the appetizers all the way to the desserts. The bread takes a little bit of time to bake since it is homemade, but it's worth the wait. The crab cakes and the lamb meatballs were delicious. Their steak filets were out of this world, one of the best I've ever tasted, perfectly cooked too. The apple tart was sooo spectacular. Deerfield Beacher's, I highly recommend this place. The menu is almost entirely locally harvested produce and meat and much of it is organic as well. The portions are not over-the-top huge, which allows diners to savor a three-course meal and not walk out waddling to and fro like at a lot of other places in central Florida. I was thoroughly impressed by the Cream of Mushroom Soup, one of the best I've ever had. Chef's Beef Tenderloin was exceptional as well and you could cut it with a dull spoon it was so tender. We've driven past this restaurant a few times and then realized that it won at the Garlic Festival-again! So when our anniversary came by we had to try it. I did a little research and was very impressed with their website! It includes all kinds of information, full menu and wine list. Their menu is pleasantly seasonal to highlight the freshest ingredients. We had started with the "Bee pollen goat cheese" appetizer and it was such a refreshing opener with it's fresh endives and lavender, d-lish! We followed up with "Chicken `n dumplings" and the day's special of "Beef Bourguignon" which were both impressive. And for desert I couldn't resist having a freshly torched creme brule. I've traveled to France many times and can honestly say the flavors were deliciously authentic and very reasonably priced. The thing I was most impressed with was the gluten free menu options. As a Celiac this is huge for me and is why I researched the restaurant before we even thought of going. French cuisine is always a concern for Celiacs because of it's traditionally flour based recipes. As it turns out, the Chef-owner's wife is also Gluten Free! The mushroom soup is even thicker and tastier than it was before, the appetizer (crab cake) blew us off our feet and duck breast was tender and crispy as nature has intended. I won't go too much into the quality of food or the way it was prepared. Suffice to say that I did not enjoy what was presented for me. They could not get the temperature of the meat right. When I told them it is not to my liking and asked for another the owner came out of the kitchen and started arguing how it is. How meat is supposed to be that color and that texture and that I can not see well because of the light in the restaurant. He was not willing to make another dish after which I asked for a refund. Upon which he yelled "Go f*** your self". While we can discuss difference of opinion of the food prepped, no customer should be exposed to such a foul language, especially without prior escalation. Very disappointing. I had read the great reviews and was eager to try it. I ordered the escargot to begin. They were excellent. Then came moules frites, which was a disaster. The french fries were floppy and limp. The moules were small and mushy, not at all fresh. When I returned the potatoes, I was told that the type of potato was not apt for french fries. So why was it on the menu? I will not return. My two dinner companions each ordered something else and were pleased with their selections. I was the unlucky one. read more
